Bad Dog doesn't really fit, because everything about my recent visit here was more than good! As soon as I walked through the door I was greeted by one of the pups. After I mentioned it was my first time there I got the grand tour of the distillery and explanation of the process. I was the only customer at the time but I'm not sure that would have mattered. They are very proud of what they do here and they have a quality product. They also have soon big plans for expansion in the next several months that I hope happens. I chose a flight with four of their whiskeys. There were so many to choose from, I'll try another set next time I am there. First was the single barrel bourbon which has notes of fruit and caramel. A slight burn at the beginning but pretty smooth. Second was the single malt, much smoother and a nice honey finish. Third was 2 Dogs, distilled from 100% rye beer. There are not many bottles left and it is more pricey than most other selections but worth it. Last was the Grandpa's Likkerish made with star anise. If you like black licorice this is one you have to try. I walked out with two bottles from what I tried but wish I had tried more. Oh well, there's always next time! You can find their products at Haagen's and Total Wine, but I recommend going to the source at least once. They don't currently serve food, so make sure you eat before you go.

Bad Dog has quite a.few selections to taste. Today I was one on one with the owner. So far all the samples have been smooth to drink, and they have some bottles that are ready to mix. Like the Chipotle, just add your tomato juice and you have a killer Bloody Mary. Or the Moonshine Apple, just like eating pie!

This place is awesome. We went in for a tour and Dave, Shelly & Adam made it fun & educational. Truly loved the experience and seeing the passion the have for what they do. The alcohol is amazing too! Great personalities and product ensure that we will return again!! Make sure to say "Hi" to Hank the dog! And try the Apple pie Moonshine! Mmm

Best Bloody Mary I've ever had, and I made it myself so I know it is the Chipotle Vodka. Cheers!

My favorite distillery by far. I love the Whiskey and Chipotle Vodka best. The Chipotle Vodka reminds me of tequila. It makes the best Bloody Mary you have ever had, just add spicy V8. Rustic and friendly. And the spirits are always smooth!

We sampled Whiskey, gin & vodka & told stories, laughed, reminiscing about younger years. Simply connecting & enjoying the moment. Every bottle was met with ooohhh, hmmm, so I like that more than the last bottle? Choosing was extremely difficult & we picked 4 bottles!!! Their Scotch- Whiskey was phenomenal. The berry-ube gin wowed me (I knew just from the smell, but the flavor was... phenomenal). The happy accident bottle, a blend of gin & whiskey with a punch of lemon was bright and delightful. And the fourth bottle I'll have to update, because there were too many i loved. I can't remember which other one we picked. I highly recommend giving them a try! Fantastic service and spirits.

It took me forever to figure out where this might be located, but now I know its in an industrial area near Paine Field. Lots of parking out front and super easy to find if you use a maps app. It's not a huge place, but plenty of room for a small group. You can do a tasting or have a cocktail. You can also buy spirits to go. There is a huge variety here, whiskey, scotch, gin, etc. For 10$ you can do a tasting that includes 8 tastes. There are a variety of interesting things to try. They have a cart they bring out to pour from. You can ask tons of questions and read about all the tasting notes of whatever you try. Everything was delicious. On my next visit I will certainly try a cocktail. Do check it out if you have never been, it is worth a special trip.

They have a beautiful facility and the tasting room was filled with souvenirs from shirts, jackets, flasks, glasses and all of them looked top-notch. Loved to buy a baseball cap, but my head is 61cm and I must have the velcro closure as the plastic snap hats are just too small & cheap for me. They have a counter bar area strategicly set with no chairs where it's comfortable for four 1/4 to 1/2 oz taste, but you don't get too comfortable. The hostess was pleasant, inviting and we honestly enjoyed reviewing the menu of +10 different whiskeys where we need to pick out 4 of them for the standard flight. They had a cross section of proofs between bourbons and ryes with a premixed old fashioned that was made by aging in maple syrup barrels. My wife went for ryes and i did the bourbons. I started with the 80 proof then navigated toward the highlight of the 115-proof. I was pleasantly impressed how drinkable without the burn going down was the 115-proof as it benefits from a sweeter, corn-forward base + cooler aging that results in better integration and less aggressive burn -- it "drinks easier" than the numbers would suggest. Of course, try what you can and it's great when you can share tastes between 2 people all the choices. For me, I found the cast strength aged 6 years 115 proof to be the best.

The person was explaining the differences between each and was really trying to find something that I would like. I appreciated that extra step. It was a good experience. Definitely better whiskey than you get at bars. Hmmm, maybe that's why I don't like whiskey? Next time I need to write down the whiskey I like so that I can just order that and not the rest. :) ....... .. ......... .. ....
