Today was a much better experience than our last visit here. Our server Ozzy was right on it all through the meal. He was very nice and always on the spot. So today we were dining while "Dining LA" was going on so you had a small 2 course meal for $25 a person. Wow. I expected the portions to be a little smaller and not so elaborate. But GREAT job! Between us we had a mixed green salad with raspberry vinaigrette , two orders of the tiger shrimp corn dogs, two lobster club sandwiches and a 1/2 roasted chicken over mashed potatoes and carrots. Yes, these were lunch meals. I may never eat again! The shrimp corn dogs were basically a fried shrimp on a skewer which were crispy and delicious and so well plated! Then the lobster club sandwiches were enormous and the lobster was cooked nicely and very fresh and served with amazing garlic fries! Wow we will keep the vampires away tonight! And finally the roasted 1/2 chicken had a delicate jus and the skin was just crispy enough that you could enjoy it. With a couple of carrots (al dente) over fresh whipped mashed potatoes and a few cloves of cooked garlic as well!! Wow we all so enjoyed everything. Sorry no room for dessert! read more

We came here for dinner on Friday night for dineLA. Service was excellent! Our waiter checked on us multiple times to see if we needed anything and to make sure our food was to our liking. I especially liked the fact that they gave us a hand written card to congratulate us. After our meal, our waiter even brought out a complimentary cupcake as well as orchids to help us celebrate our special day. A very nice touch! This is one of those places where dressing up is highly recommended. You don't want to be the only person in the restaurant sticking out like a sore thumb with your T-shirt and flip-flops. Complimentary valet parking is a plus in my book. Pasadena can be a pain when it comes to parking. So onto the food: -Lobster Crepe: This was disappointing. It was more leek than lobster. I wished the ratio was more proportionate; felt like I was eating a vegetarian dish. The flavor was also so-so. Nothing to rave about sadly. I wouldn't recommend this. -Shrimp Linguine: Quantity might not look like much but this dish was extremely filling. The lemon alfredo sauce was a surprise. And when I say alfredo sauce, don't think of it as a liquid-y sauce. It is very thick, sticks onto the linguine more like a cream. -Creme Brulee Napoleon: Beautiful presentation. Love the opposing texture, alternating between the crispy phyllo and vanilla custard. Definitely on the sweet side so order a cup of coffee to balance it out if you don't have much of a sweet tooth. (Didn't get to finish this because I was so full!) Overall, the food is 3-stars. But an additional star for great service! read more

Treated myself to a midweek solo lunch. Didn't realize that it was Dine LA, and that menu looked really interesting, but decided to go with the specials because they sounded so great. I did a cup of the watermelon cucumber gazpacho and it was wonderful. Just cold enough, vegetables were crisp, and the balance of silky and sweet were perfect on a hot day. For my entree,I ordered the lobster salad, which sounded amazing. My server described mango puree, lemongrass vinaigrette, wax beans and green beans, pickled onions, and of course chilled lobster. Upon receiving my salad, I immediately thought "Oh that salad looks really kind of slimy" and actually it was. The fresh mango was very ripe, sweet (but also mushy) but there was no acid or salt to counterbalance it. The pickled onions did not add enough salt or acid at all, and there was absolutely no trace of the lemon grass vinaigrette. When I ate the beans just by themselves they tasted fresh, and I'm sure they probably came from the PG's organic garden. I muddled through the salad, and finished it, but I really didn't feel that this dish was up to par, or up to the PG standards I have enjoyed before. Just offering my constructive feedback here, as I really enjoy this place and have not been disappointed in the past. read more

Thoroughly enjoyed the food, ambiance, and service here. My first time. Had a New York Steak, side of mashed potatoes with lobster, and a barrel aged old fashioned. Everything was delicious. Waiter was professional and nice, manager introduced herself and asked how everything was. Prices are as you would expect from a legit restaurant on the higher end, but it is worth it for the experience and service. Only thing to look out for is parking. If you don't like doing valet, there isn't a ton of potential options near by, its quite a ways down from Houstons where you can easily park on Arroyo. I will be back, this restaurant is now in my top 10 favorites. read more

4.5 Stars! For my Dad's birthday, we decided on Parkway Grill. We had a party of 9 and it seemed like everyone enjoyed themselves even though it was raining and raining that day and night last week. Parkway Grill greets you at the door and seats you when at least half of your party has arrived. The servers are cordial, polite, and friendly. The restaurant starts you off with drinks and a bread basket. For food, I had the crab cakes ($17) for appetizer and the pan roasted salmon ($31) for entree. I was definitely a glutton that night. Both dishes were prepared perfectly and I enjoyed them very much. You get two fairly small crab cakes and one piece of salmon that's about 6-7 ounces. For dessert (I said I was a glutton that night, right??), I had the creme brulee napoleon. I haven't had a creme brulee like this before and it was very good. The creme brulee is filled in between three napoleon wafers. My mom liked this a lot and ate half of my dessert which was fine with me because I was full. I had a couple of bites of the chocolate bread pudding. That dish was very good as well. Overall, an excellent experience and I would definitely recommend Parkway Grill for any special occasion. I had a really beautiful dinner here with family during Dine LA. I had never been but a few of my family members had been to this restaurant before. It was quite crowded considering it was restaurant week, but since we had reservations, we were seated right away. I chose the burratta tomato salad starter. The burratta was perfectly soft and the tomatoes were delicious and sweet. There were pieces of prosciutto on top as well. The portion was quite generous. Others ordered the tiger shrimp corndogs and loved them. Also, the huge complimentary bread basket is fabulous! We all ordered the filet mignon, which was cooked perfectly at medium rare. The meat was extremely tender and tasty with mushrooms on top. The garlic mashed potatoes were equally delicious. For dessert we all ordered different things. I had the lemon sorbet, raspberries and pistachio ice cream. The portion was big enough to split between 4 people but in our case, each person got their own dessert. Overall the service was outstanding. Parkway Grill took great care of us and I would be happy to return. read more

Always a quality experience. Food service and drinks are outstanding. The ambiance is good for just about any occasion

Fantastic meal. Service was a little slow. We kept her on our sched. Not the other way around, our waitress fell into the common trap of us talking and letting usbe in control of ordering for far too long. By the time we even ordered, we were famished. She could have turned another table. read more

Pretty reliable good cuisine. Usually has good cutting meat, since it's under common ownership with Arroyo Chop House.

We had our 3rd anniversary dinner here. I made reservations with a note that it was our anniversary. When we arrived the staff seated us in an area that was away from everyone else. It was off to the side, separated by sliding doors. It was so nice to be just the two of us. We ordered the chicken and salmon. The food was amazing! The staff was so kind and accommodating. It was our 2nd favorite dinner (1st being a restaurant in Cambria, CA) ever. We can't wait to return for our 4th anniversary. read more

Came here a THIRD time after my last review of this restaurant. Last time I went with my boyfriend for our anniversary and we did not have the best meal. HOWEVER, the owners accommodated us and treated us with such care. We came today and it was AMAZING. They did not play when it comes to great service after our last time. My bf was so happy we came back and was greeted with a beautiful steak that he was looking forward to. We are so happy with how well we were taken care of especially by the owner (Greg). We look forward to spending many more happy anniversaries here !!! Thank you Parkway Grill staff for everything! read more

My experience here was pretty good. We started off with the plate of bread and chips that comes standard for every table. It contained raisin bread, some sort of cheese sticks and chips alongside butter. The raisin bread was actually not very raisin-ey at all. I thoroughly enjoyed it, even though I'm not a big fan of raisins. My favorite items were definitely the cheese sticks. Those were out the quickest. It tasted like a thick pocky stick covered in toasted parmesan. It was so good. Moving on to the main entree, I got a Thai style dish that I don't remember the name of. It was noodles with duck breast in a Thai sauce. The noodles and veggies were good, but the sauce and the duck weren't as good. The sauce was pretty sweet and really salty. Their duck was kind of rubbery to me. Overall, I think they could have done better with the dish. Dessert was amazing. We had the Creme brûlée Napoleon and chocolate molten cake. Both of which came out and were scarfed down instantly. During dinner we talked and joked, but after taking a bite of the dessert, there was complete silence. We just dove into the food. Honestly, if my friends were there, I would have wanted to lick the plate clean. Service was friendly. The waiters were easily accessible and always very helpful to us. read more

Very mediocre. Haven't been at Parkway Grill for many years but the food quality has declined tremendously and service was slow. Valet car service was the only part of the experience that I would rate higher. It took the server about 10+ minutes after we were seated to bring us menus. We had to send back three of the three dinners for more heat as the steaks were more rare than medium. Black bean soup was tepid and lacked salt. The fingerling potatoes were greasy and also lacked salt. For 4 people to spend $450 for this meal was a crime. Not making this mistake again. Very disappointing. read more

The food were ok. My server was an absolutely no. It was my mothers birthday our visit experience was totally trash. First of the doormen and the waiters who fill our cup were friendly. But my server Amanda, show upset about I only order from the menu not other today special she mention, no wine either. Then when she comes back check on how are we doing, I let her know the black bean soup tastes burned. She said that's how it is. If I don't like it she can take it back. She seems like uneducated about how the food was made or maybe don't want to bother to explain to me and of course the attitude of don't want to waste time and confirm with the kitchen. After that she did not comes back to check on us at all. They paid thought a QR code and let you put your card info on your phone. After I paid, Amanda came to the table and asked, I said I already scan the code she can take the check. We not stay for too long after I paid cuz they close at 10pm. When we stand up Amanda stare at my mother and say nothing. After we walk out the door. She has the check on hand and yelling did we paid. I showed her the check out page on my phone. She said "ok". No "sorry" no "thank you" no "good night". More like she catch a chance to insult me but fail. I did paid her 20% tips and will not be writing if she has a more professional attitude. We got a little issue with picking up car too. We got there first but people behind me were getting their car first. Then the white gentlemen noticed we waited our car for too long and helped us asked them. the car boy explained it was bc they parked my car in other location. That's understandable. But Amanda, I can not figure out why she has that attitude toward us. Hope it's no racist since that be ridiculous racial hatred happen in Pasadena. This was my first-time visit it was frustrating and it's unpleasant experience that I ever had. Your staff represent the company images, hope the company will have a staff training soon. read more

Went with family and friends for my 30th birthday dinner and we had an amazing time. Even though they still have restrictions i was able to be accommodated for two tables for my party which I greatly appreciated because it had been such a struggle to celebrate at a restaurant because of the pandemic. Staff was very friendly and welcoming and the food was amazing ! We all had shared every single side they offered, they did not disappoint and we also had a variety of the steaks they offered. All steaks were flavorful and just super delicious! This restaurant is very elegant and beautifully decorated with its outdoor dinning area. This was my second time coming here, the first time was for my 3 year anniversary a couple years back and now this past week for my birthday and it definitely was just as amazing as the first. read more

My wife and I dine at this restaurant and often we entitle our guests. The atmosphere, the food and the service is exceptional.

I've been here many times and it was always great. The room is large, not crowded, dark and cool. Two weeks ago it was outstanding. From the valet service to all of the wait staff, I've never felt so taken care of. Our waiter Jose was amazing- knowledgeable, gracious, knew exactly when to stop by table. The food was superb- we split the special salad which contained arugula, sliced poached peaches, pickled onions, pistachios and an oil dressing. I ordered Marys chicken- so tender, great sauce, mashed potatoes and roasted figs. My husband had the short ribs with polenta. Both dinners were generous and so special. It was my birthday, and the waiter brought out a birthday cake with candle. Best birthday dinner ever, and exactly what I wanted . Thank you. read more

It was ok. The servers are not intuitive. They bring you coffee with a teaspoon or anything to stir it with, they don't have condiments that are usually set on a table (salt, pepper and/or sweetener), no matter if it is a function room affair. Plus you have to ask twice. They have wait staff who cannot be interrupted from whatever their assigned duties. Their fries were good (almost shoestring), the burger was ok but I guess the expectation was too much for the reality. Nice touch on the real orchid after the luncheon. read more

Having had dinner there before, I expected good food and service. On this particular evening the quality of the food and the service vastly exceeded my expectations. We ordered shrimp with pasta, scallops, filet minion and aged New York Strip steak with peppercorn sauce. As much as I love peppercorn sauce, I didn't use any because the steak was absolutely perfect. Without a doubt, the best steak I have ever tasted. Our server very knowledgeable quite engaging. She had us in the palm of her hands within minutes. We are looking forward to our next visit, this weekend. read more

We had a lovely time tonight. From the professional valet service, our hostess with a warm and friendly welcome when we entered, our server was wonderful, waitstaff was professional, and even as we left the hostesses wishing us a lovely evening. The Parkway Grill is my go-to restaurant when I am in Pasadena. The space is open and lovely, and has enough soft surfaces so that it doesn't echo as it gets crowded. And even when it's crowded, there is enough room between tables so that you don't feel like you are eating in a communal space. I tend to go for the ribeye, which is always excellent. But my companions have tried many of the other dishes, and they have consistently been pleased. Service is attentive but not intrusive. It's everything I'd want in an upscale but not stuffy restaurant. read more

Parkway Grill has been a special occasion spot for us for decades, and it has never disappointed. The food is always delicious, gourmet in a way I find very approachable. The service is so personal, we have an old family story about the lesson in wine pairing we were gifted on one visit. I didn't care for wine at the time, but the manager brought us two glasses, on the house, of the wine he recommended for our steaks. It was the first time I understood how not only does the right wine makes a steak taste better, but the steak can also enhance the flavor of the wine. My most recent Parkway Grill memory is of a lovely birthday meal that included a handwritten birthday card from the staff. Details matter, and Parkway Grill masters them. read more

I came here for holiday work lunch. We received a private room (15 of us) and we had a pre set menu. This time we received mixed greens (probably because lettuce is contaminated according to the cdc), a choice of entree, and a lava cake with ice cream. The mixed greens was okay, nothing out of the ordinary. I ordered the wagyu burger medium rare, which I thought was really good! I loved that dish. Lastly the lava cake, which didn't melt like lava.. was ok. Very rich and the taste was there. I mostly ate the ice cream and the non lava parts of the cake. read more

Nice location, good service, and some interesting food options. I had the Pan Roasted Scottish Salmon and the Lexington 5 to drink. There was something I didn't like about the drink, I think it was the amount of bitters so I would try something else if I returned. I got the salmon because I was intrigued by the bacon and the mushroom ragout. The portions were good but the green beans, bacon, mushrooms needed something more, maybe some sauce. Their bread basket was pretty good, lots of varieties. read more

Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and everyone was so wonderful from the moment I pulled up. Valet was quick and friendly. When I walked in, I was greeted by Denise and a few other hostesses who all so kindly seated us and asked us how we were doing. Once we sat down, Edward was our server and he was just so pleasant and the right amount of customer service. He made our whole dinner nice and smooth. The food was delicious. We had oysters that were divine. Ribeye that was juicy and tender. And sea bass that was seared perfectly. At the end of dinner, we went back to the bar and Victor was awesome. He made me a delicious whiskey sour with egg whites and the yummiest old fashions. We enjoyed his company and craft. In addition to this, they had hand written birthday cards! Everything was great. Our server Alex was very attentive and professional in his way make the experience better. Will visit again!

I only come here for DineLA, not just once but 3 times with different friends. I think they have one best DineLA menu w/ the price in Pasadena Recommended to make reservation thru Open-table for small party instead of direct from restaurant. Valet parking front of restaurant, if you go there on dinner rush hour. I think is less than $5. If there before 7 pm, there are street parking. Ambiance is nice, elegant and romantic.. Live piano performer. Good place to date night to impress someone you like Bread / cookies complimentary. Bread still warm when serve. Dont be shy to ask for more. . Appetizer: Lobster crepe, sauteed leeks & cream.. - It's pretty good and also have small chunk of lobster Appetizer: Grilled spring lamb lollipops, crispy goat cheese polenta croquettes, pine nut fig relish & pomegranate mint syrup - Love the lamb, it so tender and doesn't have the smell Entree - Roasted 1/2" Shelton farms chicken, goat cheese mashed potatoes, figs, lemon butter - Chicken is very tender and juicy Entree - Grilled 8oz Filet mignon, yukon gold "smoked" mash potatoes, wild mushroom ragout, marsala-veal reduction - Its good but would be better if doesn't place the steak on top of mash potatoes, since I dont like mixing flavors Entree - Pan roasted salmon, french green beans, bacon, mushroom ragout, red wine reduction - Salmon cooked just barely done which doesn't make the fish dry. Entree - Seared Scallops, herb infused farro risotto, crispy kale, charred tomato - I was kind of shock because the sauce is green. Its surprise good and filling Dessert - Creme brulee napoleon, crisp phyllo squares layered with vanilla bean custard, caramel sauce - I love Creme brulee but this one best one I have so far. Dessert - Chocolate lava cake, vanilla bean ice cream - If u like sweet, you will like this one -Right portion that just enough before I said is too sweet Dessert - Assortment of locally crafted artisan chocolates - this is a little disappointed. Its not want I expected it. Just chocolate from box. Overall, Food is great Service is good Hostess is friendly and always smiling read more

Great food excellent service. Great drinks. My wife and I celebrate our 2nd anniversary here.

I really wanted to like this place, based off its reviews, yet that was not the case. The ambience was nothing spectacular, which was fine because I was there to try their food, so I was able to look past it. Their menu was limited yet the wine selection was vast, which was nice. I ordered their specials, which was their salmon and octopus for appetizer. My wife ordered the scallops and asked potato. The octopus arrived in a bowl with 2-3 pieces of tentacle that was flavorless and lacked presentation. If you are going to offer something as a special, then please present it as such and ensure that it is something to rave about. It was horrible, I couldn't even eat it. Next came the salmon which was dry and was also a special yet the plate presentation was effortless. The salmon I had at yard house was 10x better than this 3$ establishment. The baked potatoes looked and tasted like they belonged at Buffalo Wild Wings. They were not what you would expect at an establishment like this. It was like something I'd make in the microwave watching a football game at home. Don't waste your money ordering them. The scallops were paired with grapefruit and Brussels sprouts , again a horrible presentation and bad pairing of taste. All in all, probably the worst presentation and taste of food I have had in a very very long time. Don't waste your time coming here. I don't know how the reviews are so great from this place, possibly because their clientele lack taste buds and a care for presentation. read more
