IMHO this is the best restaurant in Pasadena - consistently. Pricey, delicious and generous portions. Waitstaff is very professional. What a pleasure read more

I grew up in pasadena. I've been there a few times. I know that local elite like to say they go there to hang out. Food was a 6... with prices that high for the food its under a 5 (scale 1-10). The pasta was soggy, the scallop potatoes way too greasy. Salad was fine... soup good. Who can't do soup and salad. They still have Covid era dining taking up the parking lot. Parking is a mess. I should just paid the "man" and got the steak. I'm sure they do that well. With so many great places to eat, why the Parkway Grill. read more

Fine dining in Pasadena. I'm a world traveling epicure, dining at many Michelin star restaurants and met several master chefs. I dined at Parkway Grill for a celebration; and food, ambiance, and service especially Tad the manager were top notch. Highly recommended! read more

Came for dinner and drinks to celebrate my brother-in-law's birthday and everything was exceptional- service, food, ambiance. We were glad they were able to accommodate our large party on short notice. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion, date night, or when you're craving quality, delicious steaks. read more

It had been a very long time since I last ate at Parkway Grill, and I was thrilled that it still offered a fantastic dining experience. We had a party of 6, and everyone left full and very satisfied. We had cocktails, apps, a main, and desert, and everything was on point. The staff was friendly and our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Bravo, Parkway Grill, I will definitely be returning! read more

So let me start this off with, if you dine in, the service is good, staff is friendly, food is delicious. Now I ordered take out and my was that experience different. Scallops were extremely overcooked and a bit burned for my liking. The quality wasn't what I was used to from parkway. read more

we go to parkway grill a couple of times a year for special occasions. we went 10/28 at 530pm for my wife's birthday and did not have a good time. first the temperature in the restaurant was warm, probably 75^, not really uncomfortable, but with poor airflow. when we walked in the restaurant was virtually empty which , to us, was unusual. the hostess had her back to us, talking on the phone. we waited for several minutes, but she turned around before i tapped her on the shoulder. we then waited at least 15 to 20 minutes to have a server take our drink orders. again in a virtually empty restaurant. the food was ok, but nothing special. but when we finished, no one came to clear the table. this time, after 20 minutes, i could not locate the waiter. i went to the hostess, on the phone again, and asked her to send our waiter to our table. he finally showed up and we were finally able to complete our meal. it wasn't till we got home that we realized no one brought a cupcake with a candle on it for our birthday occasion which we specified on our reservation. very disappointing and very different from our decades long experience with this restaurant. will we go back? probably not. it looks like another Pasadena institution has bit the dust. -- read more

By far, my favorite restaurant in LA. I starting coming here a few years back to celebrate my birthday. Now it has become a tradition for my dad and I every year, without exception. My dad was visiting this past weekend and we decided to introduce his girlfriend to Parkway Grill. My son was also with us. Our server was Ron, our favorite for the past 10 years. He greeted us with a friendly smile and brought out a complimentary appetizer of fresh prosciutto, buratta cheese, and butter toasted bread. My son and I shared the oysters which were delicious as always. I let Ron choose my main course, as I was so indecisive, because everything sounded so good. What showed up was a bone in ribeye steak, a side of mashed potatoes with a sauce that complimented both. Superb. We finished the night with cappuccinos, a strawberry crepe with homemade vanilla ice cream, and chocolate lava cake. The Parkway Grill provides quality service starting with the reservationist, to the host, the wait staff and the servers. All top notch professionals. It's always a treat for me. read more

Great food and atmosphere! Cozy setting. Great server. Loved the espresso martini. Overall a 10/10!!

Really enjoyed the food however , I made reservations with a note that I was celebrating my anniversary and we didn't receive a note or complimentary dessert or even the flowers, all things I read about and took into account when choosing to celebrate here. Maybe they don't do that anymore? Staff was very friendly and attentive and came to check up on us from time to time.I'd definitely come back, just not for an anniversary. read more

Parkway Grill - Dinner with cocktails! - New American Near Me - Pasadena, California

They have outdoor dining which still feels very nice. Probably one of the nicest converted parking lot spaces to outdoor tents I've dined at in Covid. The staff was incredible and answered all our questions about the menu. We came here for Easter lunch as a family of 5, valet parking. Ordered a few appetizers: TIGER SHRIMP CORNDOGS [5 stars] It's essential a shrimp tempura stick. Came with four on a plate and was delicious!! Would definitely recommend and could easily eat a million of these PAN SEARED CRAB CAKES [4 stars] I enjoyed the bed of avocado salad more than the crab cakes, nothing spectacular about how it was seasoned or the sauce on it. But really enjoyed the salad. Great textures. LARGE BREAD BASKET [4 stars] Nothing superb about it besides just bread and butter. There were a variety of brew options but nothing was worth ordering another basket after we finished it. Entrees: SHRIMP LINGUINE [5 stars] My shrimp was a little tough but the pasta and sauce with arugula was perfection! Great plate DOUBLE CUT COLORADO LAMB CHOPS [5 stars] My husband ordered this and I tried a piece and thought it just melt in your mouth delicious! Perfect amount of fat. Decided not to any of the sauces onto the meat. Didn't want to ruin a good piece of a meat with a sauce. That was a good choice. The only side I tasted were: CHARRED BROCCOLINI [5 stars] Loved the char on this. Delicious CRISPY FINGERLING POTATOES [5 stars] Heavily seasoned in rosemary. But the crisp on these potatoes were perfect. Thanks Parkway Grill for an amazing Easter lunch with family. read more

This place doesn't need reviews because they have a solid clientele of regulars who will keep it in business, plus their word of mouth. Although I am not a regular, I come a few times a year and I send people there all the time via gift cards or word of mouth. It really delivers superb service and quality food. Today the bone marrow was exquisite. Beet salad was great. Drinks were top notch. Pork loin was phenomenal. They make the best shoestring fries in town!!! Sadly my ribeye was cooked medium instead of medium rare, but they were very apologetic and made up for it when I brought it up. They would have redone it had I asked earlier but honestly it was still pretty forgiving and tasty, and I was so hungry that I chose not to wait for another one so I ate as much as I could until my jaws got tired of chewing, the chef needs to be more on the ball, but nobody is perfect and for me it's all about the response you get as a customer that really matters. Their service is first class. Will be back for sure!! read more

Ohhhh! This establishment is a MUST! My bff lives here, and raved about it. Now I know why. Excellent service and atmosphere. We started with the shrimp "corn dogs," and Hamachi crudo, and split iceberg wedge that was to die for! I would go back just for the salad. For entrées, I ordered the rib-eye and my bestie had the NY strip steak and pan-seared crab cakes. We shared charred broccolini and sugar snap peas. Everything was perfect! Eduardo is a top-notch server who knows his food--drinks too. read more

Steaks were amazing. Perfectly done as per need and the Japanese Wagyu was prepared to its perfection! This place is not just a regular steak house. Quality of meat was to the standard. Crab cake and sweet corn for appetizer was excellent. Flavors of food and ambience of the restaurant was great and Covid precautions were well taken! Highly recommend this place if you like steaks! read more

We had great service, and the food was good. Overall, I did have to send my steak back because it was cooked well done and I ordered it medium rare. The second steak came out rare but I took it home and once I reheated it, it was fine. We also ordered a nice bottle of Caymus and had some great cocktails. Overall a great experience but whoever's grilling the steaks needs more experience. read more

Always a favorite for a good cocktail and food! Service is always on point! Look forward to my next visit!

Loved this place! Great food, very nice service and very welcoming! Highly recommended!

When the server and the manager make you feel it was a mistake to come here...you're in the wrong place. My skin color may be brown but my money is still green. Shameful. Oh and the sourdough was stale. read more

The food, the environment , the steak and wine are great, I like how they handle the vegetables!

Remember Crocodile Cafe? I do. I remember the first time I ate there. I knew then that the combination of good food and great atmosphere went hand in hand. The Smith Bros know what they're doing. There are many examples of restaurants in Pasadena that face a perilous threat: irrelevance. The Smiths continue to create restaurants that are immune. With precise attention to detail, perfect execution, and exceptional service, Parkway Grill will satisfy any food lover or diner who is too lazy to trek over to WeHo. The servers are exceptional, the guest experience is paramount, drinks are top shelf, and the food is outstanding. Parkway Grille is where Pasadena's beautiful people go to refuel after a day of shopping on S. Lake. Reservations are a must because PG always draws a crowd with its Cal/French cuisine and romantic ambiance. Women, better double up on your Spanx. The women dining here are well heeled and unexplicabely better looking than you. Get the large bread basket. It's worth the extra dollars. Tiger Shrimp Corndogs, the Parkway's Caesar, and the Braised Shot Ribs will remind you why The Smith Bros rule in Pasadena's blood sport....fine dining. The food here is as good looking as the crowd. The valet parking is a gauntlet of imported Germans and Italians. Uber, if your car can't measure up...it's worth it. read more

Horrible place. Wow this place is a joke we had a reservation for our birthday party. we got there was very cold and we asked for heaters they said no sorry we can't have more heater. After we saw that the tables behind us have 3 heaters and we have 10 people 2 tables with one heater. we were so cold. i can't believe you charged us 1000$ and you don't care about you costomer don't recommend this place management don't care costomer. Beautiful restaurant with outdoor organic garden. The inside gives jazz vibes. I loved the paintings, bar, and open kitchen. Food was excellent! American yet zesty dishes! My personal favorite was the Sea bass with brócoli(a hybrid brócoli and cauliflower blend). A bit overpriced but that's Parkway Grill. Service was great! Nice folks in there. read more

We have always enjoyed this restaurant in the past, and we have not been there for a while, so we decided to go. The restaurant is very nice, we enjoyed the ambiance. The service was excellent! We ordered bread basket, crab cakes for appetizers. For the main course, my husband ordered cat fish, and I ordered lamb chops by the waitress' recommendation. We loved crab cakes. They were delicious. My husband always enjoys the catfish. But my lamb chops were just okay. I have had much better lamb chops elsewhere, and we found lamb dish was like $75!! Definitely did not live up to the price. Overall, it is a good restaurant, and we did enjoy the dinner out at this restaurant, but would I go here for "food " alone?? Probably not. read more

The cuisine offered is truly exceptional and delectable, particularly the shrimp pasta.

We had an amazing dinner last night which was highlighted by the amazing scallops. Omar our server provided attentive and informative service during our wonderful dinner. It all started out with having a perfect location by the fireplace. Every detail provided at this wonderful establishment all the utensils and glassware were spotless! The variety of breads in the basket only added in starting off our dinner. Scallops, salads, lamb and halibut were prepared perfectly. If you are in Pasadena make sure to schedule dinner at the Parkway you will not be disappointed! read more

I wish we had gone somewhere else. Crying newborns, toddlers running around, cold food... This place is not what it used to be!

We visit the steakhouse frequently. Great steaks, professional service. Pricy but worth it.

We had a group of 8 to celebrate our friend's Birthday at Parkway Grill. This is an upscale restaurant and servers were very attentive. We were seated right away when our group arrived, and for a Thursday night, it was already pretty busy at 6:30. We brought 3 bottles of our favorite vintage wines and asked to have them decanted and our server opened them up to breathe while we ordered appetizers and started drinking a chilled white blend. A bread basket and butter was brought out as we drank our wine and were deciding what to order. It did take quite awhile to get our order, but i guess with a party of 8, it takes a bit of timing to be able to get all of us served at the same time. I ordered the 16oz boneless ribeye with peppercorn sauce on the side and it was cooked medium rare perfect! The sauce tasted amazing with the steak. My wife had the Chilean sea bass which she enjoyed. A complementary Napoleon dessert was brought out at the end of our dinner that was just a perfect finish! This was my first time here and i will be adding this restaurant to my go to list for fine dining experience. read more

During our visit the Parkway Grill was beautifully decorated for Christmas with garlands and lights hanging from the rafters. Overall, we enjoyed our meal here; however, there were some issues that came up that probably had more to do with it being the holiday season and our group being one of the larger ones that night. Drinks were a bit slow and our server forgot one, but was quickly able to rectify it. The same thing happened with entrees, but this time our server caught it before all the entrees were brought out. We shared the tuna tartare and the tiger shrimp corndogs. We thought, corndogs were an odd thing to have on the menu at such a fancy place, but honestly it was one of the best surprises and we all really enjoyed that starter. We shared salads too. The portion was smaller than expected. We were told it was a dinner entrée, thus why we shared it, but we could have probably ordered one each. For my entrée I had the petite filet (about 6 or 7 oz.). The regular filet is closer to 10 oz. It was good and perfectly cooked medium. For those driving here, there is valet parking available. read more

Parkway Grill is top notch, sophisticated, elegant, excellent service, exceptional food and wines... a very special place for me to take friends & family on special occasions. We celebrated 2 special occasions at Parkway last night (9/22). The food, service and atmosphere were perfect. Our party enjoyed the following: oysters from Massachusetts, tuna tartare, Seabass, asparagus, lobster risotto, a ribeye fillet, and the ultimate and best crème brûlée I have ever had. The food was simply Devine. Our young Latino waiter was charming and professional. The wait staff was spot on! And the art by local pasadena artist Kenton Nelson was an added pleasure! It was such a treat to be treated so well for our special night. Cheers to you Gregg Smith and the employees that work so hard at Parkway Grill. We. Will. Be. Back. read more

My husband ordered from here for our 1st anniversary. The curbside pick up was so easy and fast. The host, Sean was extremely friendly and nice. He greeted us when we pulled up and brought us our order. We ordered the sea bass (with risotto and sautéed green beans), burrata pizza, appetizer prawns, a salad, bread pudding and a bottle of old fashioned. Everything was really good. We really enjoyed everything. It was nice to take home a bottle of old fashioned for our night cap. We will definitely go back once the restaurant is ready for dining service. read more
