We had great service, and the food was good. Overall, I did have to send my steak back because it was cooked well done and I ordered it medium rare. The second steak came out rare but I took it home and once I reheated it, it was fine. We also ordered a nice bottle of Caymus and had some great cocktails. Overall a great experience but whoever's grilling the steaks needs more experience. read more

By far, my favorite restaurant in LA. I starting coming here a few years back to celebrate my birthday. Now it has become a tradition for my dad and I every year, without exception. My dad was visiting this past weekend and we decided to introduce his girlfriend to Parkway Grill. My son was also with us. Our server was Ron, our favorite for the past 10 years. He greeted us with a friendly smile and brought out a complimentary appetizer of fresh prosciutto, buratta cheese, and butter toasted bread. My son and I shared the oysters which were delicious as always. I let Ron choose my main course, as I was so indecisive, because everything sounded so good. What showed up was a bone in ribeye steak, a side of mashed potatoes with a sauce that complimented both. Superb. We finished the night with cappuccinos, a strawberry crepe with homemade vanilla ice cream, and chocolate lava cake. The Parkway Grill provides quality service starting with the reservationist, to the host, the wait staff and the servers. All top notch professionals. It's always a treat for me. read more

Remember Crocodile Cafe? I do. I remember the first time I ate there. I knew then that the combination of good food and great atmosphere went hand in hand. The Smith Bros know what they're doing. There are many examples of restaurants in Pasadena that face a perilous threat: irrelevance. The Smiths continue to create restaurants that are immune. With precise attention to detail, perfect execution, and exceptional service, Parkway Grill will satisfy any food lover or diner who is too lazy to trek over to WeHo. The servers are exceptional, the guest experience is paramount, drinks are top shelf, and the food is outstanding. Parkway Grille is where Pasadena's beautiful people go to refuel after a day of shopping on S. Lake. Reservations are a must because PG always draws a crowd with its Cal/French cuisine and romantic ambiance. Women, better double up on your Spanx. The women dining here are well heeled and unexplicabely better looking than you. Get the large bread basket. It's worth the extra dollars. Tiger Shrimp Corndogs, the Parkway's Caesar, and the Braised Shot Ribs will remind you why The Smith Bros rule in Pasadena's blood sport....fine dining. The food here is as good looking as the crowd. Ohhhh! This establishment is a MUST! My bff lives here, and raved about it. Now I know why. Excellent service and atmosphere. We started with the shrimp "corn dogs," and Hamachi crudo, and split iceberg wedge that was to die for! I would go back just for the salad. For entrées, I ordered the rib-eye and my bestie had the NY strip steak and pan-seared crab cakes. We shared charred broccolini and sugar snap peas. Everything was perfect! Steaks were amazing. Perfectly done as per need and the Japanese Wagyu was prepared to its perfection! This place is not just a regular steak house. Quality of meat was to the standard. Crab cake and sweet corn for appetizer was excellent. Flavors of food and ambience of the restaurant was great and Covid precautions were well taken! We have always enjoyed this restaurant in the past, and we have not been there for a while, so we decided to go. The restaurant is very nice, we enjoyed the ambiance. The service was excellent! We ordered bread basket, crab cakes for appetizers. For the main course, my husband ordered cat fish, and I ordered lamb chops by the waitress' recommendation. We loved crab cakes. They were delicious. My husband always enjoys the catfish. But my lamb chops were just okay. I have had much better lamb chops elsewhere, and we found lamb dish was like $75!! Definitely did not live up to the price. Overall, it is a good restaurant, and we did enjoy the dinner out at this restaurant, but would I go here for "food " alone?? Probably not. read more

We had an amazing dinner last night which was highlighted by the amazing scallops. Omar our server provided attentive and informative service during our wonderful dinner. It all started out with having a perfect location by the fireplace. Every detail provided at this wonderful establishment all the utensils and glassware were spotless! The variety of breads in the basket only added in starting off our dinner. Scallops, salads, lamb and halibut were prepared perfectly. We had a group of 8 to celebrate our friend's Birthday at Parkway Grill. This is an upscale restaurant and servers were very attentive. We were seated right away when our group arrived, and for a Thursday night, it was already pretty busy at 6:30. We brought 3 bottles of our favorite vintage wines and asked to have them decanted and our server opened them up to breathe while we ordered appetizers and started drinking a chilled white blend. A bread basket and butter was brought out as we drank our wine and were deciding what to order. It did take quite awhile to get our order, but i guess with a party of 8, it takes a bit of timing to be able to get all of us served at the same time. I ordered the 16oz boneless ribeye with peppercorn sauce on the side and it was cooked medium rare perfect! The sauce tasted amazing with the steak. My wife had the Chilean sea bass which she enjoyed. A complementary Napoleon dessert was brought out at the end of our dinner that was just a perfect finish! This was my first time here and i will be adding this restaurant to my go to list for fine dining experience. read more

During our visit the Parkway Grill was beautifully decorated for Christmas with garlands and lights hanging from the rafters. Overall, we enjoyed our meal here; however, there were some issues that came up that probably had more to do with it being the holiday season and our group being one of the larger ones that night. Drinks were a bit slow and our server forgot one, but was quickly able to rectify it. The same thing happened with entrees, but this time our server caught it before all the entrees were brought out. We shared the tuna tartare and the tiger shrimp corndogs. We thought, corndogs were an odd thing to have on the menu at such a fancy place, but honestly it was one of the best surprises and we all really enjoyed that starter. We shared salads too. The portion was smaller than expected. We were told it was a dinner entrée, thus why we shared it, but we could have probably ordered one each. For my entrée I had the petite filet (about 6 or 7 oz.). The regular filet is closer to 10 oz. It was good and perfectly cooked medium. For those driving here, there is valet parking available. read more

Horrible place. Wow this place is a joke we had a reservation for our birthday party. we got there was very cold and we asked for heaters they said no sorry we can't have more heater.After we saw that the tables behind us have 3 heaters and we have 10 people 2 tables with one heater. we were so cold. i can't believe you charged us 1000$ and you don't care about you costomer don't recommend this place management don't care costomer. Next morning the general manager emailed me saying that we didn't tip them. For the service we received you deserved 0$ tips. Instead of apologizing they asked tip. I always look forward to the parkway grill w their attentive service and great ambiance. This last time it looked like they were trying to shove people in every corner. We felt like our table was in the middle of a walkway. The food was very mediocre for such a high price tag. The oysters were tasteless again this time and the fish was also dry again. Insanity is doing the same thing over again and expecting a different outcome. It's a beautiful restaurant but I'm not sure I'll be back given the plethora of other upscale restaurants. read more

absolutely delicious magnificent food, the ambience was wonderful. Music was right volume light was right brightness, the bread was great. It was a perfect temp inside. Just an overall very nice restaurant. quite pricey, but everything lived up to its price. the food all melted in your mouth. We celebrated 2 special occasions at Parkway last night (9/22). The food, service and atmosphere were perfect. Our party enjoyed the following: oysters from Massachusetts, tuna tartare, Seabass, asparagus, lobster risotto, a ribeye fillet, and the ultimate and best crème brûlée I have ever had. The food was simply Devine. Our young Latino waiter was charming and professional. The wait staff was spot on! And the art by local pasadena artist Kenton Nelson was an added pleasure! My husband ordered from here for our 1st anniversary. The curbside pick up was so easy and fast. The host, Sean was extremely friendly and nice. He greeted us when we pulled up and brought us our order. We ordered the sea bass (with risotto and sautéed green beans), burrata pizza, appetizer prawns, a salad, bread pudding and a bottle of old fashioned. Everything was really good. We really enjoyed everything. It was nice to take home a bottle of old fashioned for our night cap. We will definitely go back once the restaurant is ready for dining service. read more

After waiting so long to try this restaurant we decided to celebrate our anniversary over dinner. The staff was extremely nice from Felipe the Valet, the hostesses, to our servers. Service was excellent! No complaints for service or hospitality but unfortunately our food was very bland, the sides seemed to be instant potatoes and very generic sautéed mushrooms. The steak had absolutely no flavor. I do not wish to disrespect the chef or kitchen staff perhaps they had an off night. Unfortunately our dinner was not very appetizing. It's always a pleasant experience dining here. Brought my mother here this last Mother's Day and my mom had a wonderful time. She ordered the deep fried cat fish and to our surprise, it's literally an entire nicely fried whole catfish that barely fits on her plate! It was delicious! The texture was nice and crispy on the outside but tender and flaky on the inside while not losing much of its natural juices. I had the days special of lamp chops and they were delightful. Terrible way of doing business, but I hope they get lots of $$$ and engagement for the privileged private event attendees.

I'm a second-generation Irish-American from New York, and St. Patrick's Day has always meant something in my family. Growing up it was about heritage, family, and a little joy. Now that I have two daughters of my own -- very Irish-looking girls who are proud of their roots -- I wanted them to experience some of that same Irish pub spirit. So on St. Patrick's Day 2025, I took them to Griffin's of Kinsale in South Pasadena. They were so excited to be there -- the decorations, the music, the feeling of a real Irish pub. For a moment I thought, this is going to be a great memory for them. We came early because it was a school night. The restaurant was busy -- which is understandable on St. Patrick's Day. I ordered three salmon dinners for my daughters and myself. The bill came to about $150. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. Over an hour and a half. During that entire time: * No one warned us the kitchen was backed up when we ordered. * No one checked on our table. * No updates. * No communication at all. Had someone simply said "Just so you know, food may take an hour or more tonight," I could have made a different decision -- especially with two kids who had school the next morning. Instead we sat downstairs watching the clock while the evening disappeared. By the end of the night my daughters -- who had been so excited walking in -- were tired, hungry, and miserable. When I asked to speak with a manager, no one came. No explanation. No apology. Restaurants get slammed on holidays. Kitchens fall behind. That happens. But ignoring a table for 90 minutes -- especially a family with children -- isn't a busy night. It's bad management. What should have been a fun St. Patrick's Day memory for my daughters turned into a long, uncomfortable evening where we felt completely invisible. For a place that trades so heavily on Irish identity and hospitality, this was about as far from hospitality as you can get. Save your $150 and celebrate St. Patrick's Day somewhere that actually wants you there.
