Crème Brûlée Napoleon - delicious.
Dennis W.

Is it okay to patron a restaurant because you remember how delicious the desserts were? If your answer is a resounding "Yes" then Parkway Grill is one of the spots for you! Prior to dessert, may I suggest the filet mignon, chicken, or rack of lamb? Chicken on a menu at a place as refined as Parkway Grill can only mean one thing; it's good. The succulent, tender, meat was removed from our chicken like flesh from baby-back ribs. I'd say this chicken must have been running around in a field...looking carefully out of the wire fence at the green grass on the opposite side. So close to escaping, you can taste the hope of freedom in each bite. I'm from Colorado, so my eye is easily tempted by the rack of lamb. But this lamb doesn't taste how my grandmother would abuse it. The rack of ribs are perfectly crusted, seasoned, and paired with scalloped potatoes. Not one, not two, but three whole asparagus accompany the meal (It might as well have been parsley). The mild flavor of the lamb and cheesiness of the potatoes hit my tongue like a gentle massage on my shoulders; warm, inviting, relaxing. The forks are as close to shovels as you can get. Wish they were smaller! Eight dollar valet parking. Yelp buddies, I have a secret to share: You can ask for items off the menu at Arroyo Chop House next door (they are sister restaurants). It's okay to share these sisters, but not those of your girlfriend or wife. I said what I said.

We came here for a birthday celebration. Still very good service, excellent food and amazing ambience. We will keep coming for our special celebration.

Upscale American food with plenty of premium beef and other meat options and some seafood too. Reservations are highly recommended You feel like you're dining in a lodge. A quaint homey atmosphere Sterling was an excellent server. He kept the pace of a very large party well even though he had other tables too. Everything was beautifully plated and included fresh ingredients There were no complaints about the main meal. They have a nice wine selection too The only lacking thing was the dessert. Although they were all lovely, the napoleon was a bit disappointing. The description of napoleon gave the assumption of a layered crispy crust. Not sure what you would call it Otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable evening

12/10/25 Chef kiss! Alluring & tasteful, classic ambiance, spectacular & enticing food with impeccable service. Our staff Christmas get together met up here in Pasadena. Take advantage of the valet. Our reservation was set at 6:45 & we were seated promptly. Our server, Chris was a tad late but he took great care of us once he's taken our orders. For starters, Caesar salad, bone narrow, black bean soup & lamb chop "lollipops". Cocktails first, these arrived shortly, The table bread .& butter was tasty but I wish it was warm bread. The bone marrow was rich & savory. The lamb lollipop was a bit cold. The Caesar salad was amazing. I ordered the salmon because I was looking forward to the risotto. The salmon was cooked perfectly but the risotto was probably not quite cooked all the way through because there was some grittiness to it (perhaps the rice was not allowed time to cook through) I would have preferred it to be soft & creamy. I should've mentioned this to Chris but everyone had their dishes already & I did not want to wait for a replacement. One of our group member's Chilean Sea Bass was over cooked. & a server informed us & offered for something on the house while the dish is being prepared again. The Special Salad of the day was made very quickly & it was superb! All in all, it was a wonderful visit & we had a good time.

Classic American fine dining. Came here with my family for an early dinner after a show at the Playhouse, and made a reservation online in advance. We split a holland America farms Bibb lettuce salad and the beet salad to start; the salads were on the small side and meant for 1-2. We also had the bone marrow and hamachi crudo; I really liked the crudo. For my entree, I had the Scottish salmon which came with a good amount of veggies and felt healthy. My sister really enjoyed her scallops and my mom was astounded at how large the whole ginger fried Louisiana catfish was - that fish could've been an entree for two. My dad had the short rib and we also had fries for the table, which were nice and crispy. For dessert, we split a chocolate lava cake which was a sweet way to end the meal. Valet parking is paid but there is some street parking available too. The ladies restroom was arctic cold, so just something to note. Service was friendly but not overbearing. Credit cards and cash accepted.

The whole night from start to finish was beautiful. The server (mallicent?) was amazing . We started off with a couple drinks, moved on to oysters and the shrimp corn dogs . 5 starts for both. I got the Chilean sea bass which was so buttery and cooked flaky and perfectly pan seared. We also got the bone in filet, Oscar style with a side of the scalloped potatoes. I have never before had a filet bone in, the char was a beautiful perfect med rare.. very hard to come across that beautiful. The potatoes were cheesy, flavorful soft and crispy . The bernaise was homemade and tart and complemented so well with the lump crab meat. The service and ambience as well as the food was amazing. The hand wrote birthday card was beautiful.

I visit this restaurant to celebrate my 29 wedding anniversary celebration! So excited to come back and enjoy the delicious food and the great atmosphere this restaurant offers . John was exceptional waiter and helpful with his recommendations for the currently specials. We brought a bottle of white wine to drink with our meal and he was attentive to open and serve, our glasses were never empty.. The food was outstanding with exception of that lobster Risotto. We talk to the manager when he approached to us to check out how we were doing, and he immediately took it out of the table and offer a complementary dessert. He took the risotto plate off our check. From the valet Parking to the hostess to the waiter, and the manager our experience was the best. I definitely will come back .

ChatGPT is used by restaurant ti respond to Yelp reviews.

Not a huge fan at all but I do want to mention the positives: 1) Amazing valet staff:) 2) Fabulous ambience! 3) Delicious food! ----- This place has EXTREMELY SLOW service. I'm talking, 'eat before you come, because they will make you wait' speed. The owner also uses ChatGPT to write his Yelp review responses. See attachment for example.

Food was amazing and full of flavor. The service was fantastic and the manager even came out to greet us. The location was a little loud but it was a full house the night I was there. I highly recommend it.

We ordered the sea bass and the New York steak. Everything looks and smells amazing!

Parkway Grill consistently serves incredibly delicious food and drinks, and their servers are truly fantastic! It's a place I feel comfortable visiting anytime, and I love sharing my positive experiences as a proud brand ambassador--beautiful exterior and lovely bar area.

Came here to feast with a group and we got busy!! We got the ahi tuna tartare, the Linz Heritage Angus Bone-In Ribeye, Scallops wrapped in porcini mushrooms, and Tiger Shrimp Corndogs wrapped in a string made from radish! All were pretty good! Service was great and the ambiance was nice as well! Definitely a nice place for dinner!

Pistachio Ice cream was phenomenal....
Nikki M.

It's a very classy restaurant with great services . The only problems I noticed is that the tables are small and there are way too many plates on the table ....for example a small bread plate and a sharing plate , not to mention cups ... a water glass and wine glass add four people and there was no room for the appetizers. It was really crammed .... We had to use the decorative table to house our extra unnecessary dishes. I also noticed not a single kid in sight ...so great place for a date night for adult only conversations. The food was amazing ! You have the option to request the menu from the chop house next door which is also associated with the Parkway Grill and order steak options as well as lobster, both of which we had and it was delicious. The one thing that I really thought was perfect in form of presentation and delicious, was the dessert . The prices were phenomenal! Dinner with a bottle of wine and dessert ... let's just say it we ate and left happy.

First off, I have to praise 1933 group because I have loved every single bar they have revitalized and this one is no different. In keeping with their MO, The Lucky Tiki is a speakeasy with a vintage vibe. I won't give away how to get in but let's just say, it's near the front of Highland Park Bowl. My husband and I didn't have a reservation, but we were able to put our name in and got seated about an hour or so later. I was amazed as soon as I walked in the door! It's just floor to ceiling decorated with everything tiki. So many fun details and even interactive elements that turn on when a particular drink was ordered. That was probably my favorite part honestly. We ordered the Tiki Diablo, which is a large tiki drink with a flaming volcano. And yes it does have an interactive element. It was really good. Very fruity and strong, but not overly so. Service was excellent. Our waitress was on it and even waited to make sure my husband was back from the bathroom before lighting our drink on fire. We didn't try any food this time, but a lot of people were ordering the Hawaiian pizza. Do with that what you may. Will definitely be back ti try more drinks and food. I'm a second-generation Irish-American from New York, and St. Patrick's Day has always meant something in my family. Growing up it was about heritage, family, and a little joy. Now that I have two daughters of my own -- very Irish-looking girls who are proud of their roots -- I wanted them to experience some of that same Irish pub spirit. So on St. Patrick's Day 2025, I took them to Griffin's of Kinsale in South Pasadena. They were so excited to be there -- the decorations, the music, the feeling of a real Irish pub. For a moment I thought, this is going to be a great memory for them. We came early because it was a school night. The restaurant was busy -- which is understandable on St. Patrick's Day. I ordered three salmon dinners for my daughters and myself. The bill came to about $150. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. Over an hour and a half. During that entire time: * No one warned us the kitchen was backed up when we ordered. * No one checked on our table. * No updates. * No communication at all. Had someone simply said "Just so you know, food may take an hour or more tonight," I could have made a different decision -- especially with two kids who had school the next morning. Instead we sat downstairs watching the clock while the evening disappeared. By the end of the night my daughters -- who had been so excited walking in -- were tired, hungry, and miserable. When I asked to speak with a manager, no one came. No explanation. No apology. Restaurants get slammed on holidays. Kitchens fall behind. That happens. But ignoring a table for 90 minutes -- especially a family with children -- isn't a busy night. It's bad management. What should have been a fun St. Patrick's Day memory for my daughters turned into a long, uncomfortable evening where we felt completely invisible. For a place that trades so heavily on Irish identity and hospitality, this was about as far from hospitality as you can get. Save your $150 and celebrate St. Patrick's Day somewhere that actually wants you there. And if management would like to explain how a family ends up waiting 90 minutes with no communication, I'd genuinely be interested to hear it.

We get Impossible burgers and tater tots and just gab for like an hour. Their smash-burgers are so delicious, yum! My husband and I recently tried their grilled cheese and tomato soup combo, too, which we really enjoyed. Very filling. Their cocktail program has some unique flavors, which isn't always my thing. But everything I've had has been outstanding, even their mocktails. I really liked one of the new ones I had recently, which was called something like Grandma's House? I can't remember, but it was spiced and had a star anise as garnish. A bit on the pricier side, but probably because they use premium ingredients and such unique flavors combos. Love the neighborhood bar vibe. It's a welcoming little oasis in the urban jungle of Highland Park.

The restaurant itself isn't too big but it does a pack a nice punch. Cute patio out front that takes some of the sidewalks and streets. Plenty of heat lamps which helped with the chilly nights. We got seated at one of the tables on the patios which was nice. Didn't really utilize inside area except for the restroom which it's quite cute in there. The rooms were pretty well decorated and executed. Nice bar area too. Like mentioned, we got seated on the patio and the heat lamps were great. Down to the menus, it's quite limited on dishes. Seemed like there were more shared plates versus the entrees. Drinks, it was fairly decent with their cocktails and wine. Service at the beginning was great. The staff were amazing and very friendly. We didn't order right away as we were still waiting for the last one to show. But did start off with some drinks. It didn't take that long for the first round which was nice. Food wise, the shared plate was a mixture of everything. Some of the olives, which is exactly what it is. The Belgian fries, nice thick cut fries with shredded pecorino cheese and a nice aioli sauce. We ended up getting a second order of it. The albacore tuna crudo was a hit which was really tasty. Chili ginger relish, mint and shallot, can't go wrong with that. Lastly the meatballs, tasty and very great for sharing. Entrees, the pan seared sea bass which I loved. Portion is pretty tiny which also seemed like they were a shared plate. Almost tapas styled. Nice chimichurri sauce and a side salad. The chicken Milanese also with a side salad of arugula. Simple dish but quite tasty. One of the salads that was somewhat hyped up by the waitress but it was just a salad. Decent but nothing major to rave about...lol... also the confit oyster mushrooms was major hit. Something that simple but quite tasty. And lastly the pan con tomate, rustic sourdough with tomatoes and burrata. Tasty as well. Overall the meal was good. From there, the second round of drinks did take a long time to arrive and with then plates that we shared, trying to get someone to clear the plates was another thing. Took a long for someone to clear the table before more items came. Even when the entrees came, all the empty starter plates were still there. And if someone did clear the plates, some was still left on the table. Finishing off the night, we did have the dessert which we tried all three. As it was two of our girlfriends birthday, they brought out a little bubbly for us to celebrate with the dessert. That was quite sweet and nice. Honestly opinion with the dessert, they were just ok. Nothing major to rave about. We tried all three on the menu and they were just ok. Overall, the food was great. Service was nice and the staffs were all very friendly. It did take a while for plates to get cleared from the table and second round did take a while, but it was manageable. It was a sweet gesture with the bubbly with the dessert which was greatly appreciated. The place is nice and great for catching up. Menu is limited and portions are quite small. You would have to get a good amount for sharing. Entrees, depending on what you order is small as well. But we enjoyed ourself.

She read my mind and knew without me saying. They serve lukewarm water and the a/c was on but was not on ..if u catch my drift. The front hostess was also phenomenal, I had reservation for outdoor seating but since she saw that the sun was like glaring, she asked if I wanted to change to inside. Very obliging and accommodating. Food: 5 stars, surprisingly good, right amount for us. I was full but I can see where other reviewers say portions are small. It's small if u're a heavy eater. But the quality is definitely there. Ambiance: trendy, high energy, casual vibes where u can lounge and have a beer while munching on fries...or u can choose to be poshy and have a glass of wine with a salad and Chilean sea bass. It's flexible to accommodate both as there are different sections. Parking: street metered 1 hour parking. 3 stars, not their fault but 1 hour is simply not enough. It can get super busy and the server can be pulled left and right, so cut them some slack during super busy hours. Will definitely be back. Highly recommended .

Because this is a hotel bar since it's situated in The Langham 5-star luxury hotel, the drinks are expensive like $25 starting. One of my friends got a lemon-based mocktail (pretty good) and I got Cosmopolitan-type cocktail with Prosecco (pretty solid and not overly sweet, just not one of the best cocktails I tried). Another friend ordered Negroni, which is a potent cocktail with a bitter sharp, dry aftertaste. I could hardly taste any hint of sweetness in the drink. My friend thought it was too bitter, too. Honestly, for me it tastes just as bitter as a Manhattan, probably because both cocktails incorporate sweet vermouth. 3 stars for the poor customer service and wait time for standing in line to order drinks. There were 2 or 3 bartenders and they were rushing but also seemed like they weren't efficiently helping customers with drinks in a timely manner. The lounge area was meh (super limited seat spots) and the vibes were bland despite coming here on New Year's Eve. Definitely an older demographic that frequents this bar, not that it's a bad thing, just not our vibe since it would've been more fun if there other people closer to our age, so we decided to bar hop elsewhere after.

Parking is pretty easy because there is a parking lot that is free right around the corner. I believe it's Mentor -- or if you just drive a block or two away there's free residential parking. It's hit or miss if you find parking on Mission. But the Mission District of South Pasadena is historic and fun to walk around. The staff was incredibly attentive and you could tell very committed to their food and wine program. The patio outside really nice. We were able to walk in at 5:30 and eat at the bar-- and they could not have been more accommodating, even though we did not have reservations. Sitting at the bar given that it's an open kitchen we could see the commitment to made to order food and it's the type of place that if anyone did have an issue with their meal, I am sure they would rectify it. They let me try sips of the wine before I bought a glass. And the front of the house was very warm. We live in the Garvanza area of NE Los Angeles and we will definitely be back.
