The all-American man

A group of fellow REALTORS® and I had just wrapped up a real estate conference and had a few hours to explore Detroit before catching our evening flight. We ended the day at PARC -- and honestly, we couldn't have chosen better. The location on Woodward Avenue overlooking Campus Martius is stunning, and we arrived right at the start of spring with fresh tulips outside that made the whole scene feel even more special. I went straight for the Cracker Jack Old Fashioned -- caramel-infused bourbon with actual Cracker Jacks. Sounds fun, tastes incredible. One of the more creative cocktails I've had in a long time. The drink selection here is extensive and the bartenders clearly know what they're doing. For dinner I had a medium rare steak cooked to perfection with potatoes -- classic done right. We were a sharing kind of table and took bites of several other dishes. Everything was fresh, well-executed, and satisfying. San Pellegrino flowing, great conversation, great food. The service was the cherry on top -- knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely warm. Our waiter knew the menu cold and made the whole evening feel effortless. If you're visiting Detroit even for just a few hours, make time for PARC. It delivers across the board.

This is such a nice spot located in the park. I love that it is walking distance to most hotels downtown and they have a piano. The musician was a plus because he created the vibe. The restaurant is giving upscale with top tier service. The food was sooooo good. And the portion was great. I had some left to take home. It tasted just as good the next day. This giving cute date night spot and afterwards you want to walk around holding hands satisfied with your dinner. I will be back.

The food here is great and the ambiance is lovely. I like the open air idea which is nice in the summer and fall. One thing was we asked for sourdough and we' were not told they ran out when we ordered. But other than that i definitely recommended brunch!!

I love the ambiance the service was great too!! But y on earth they gave me stale old French fries I was a bit irritated! Because the cost for this food is wayy too expensive to think u can get away with serving someone stale fries!! They made that up completely! What if I was a real live food restaurant worker that gave out the grades?? The server made it up for me and gave me a new fries/

We popped in here for a drink and some good snacking food and man did this place not disappoint. Their cocktail menu is legit! They have all the different flavors for anyone who's looking for a fun and different cocktail. We ordered truffle fries and the fire grilled burrata and man were we wanting more. The staff was everywhere and there to help all the tables which was really nice to see. The spot is perfect since you're surrounded by other restaurants and shops. Amazing place!!

Came here on a Sunday for brunch and it had no wait time. Staff is very friendly and helpful in suggesting their most ordered dishes. Their menu is limited but all great dishes to try. A lot of the items were completely new that I had not tried before anywhere else as well so I have to come back to it again. The dishes we ordered came out amazing as such. The location of the restaurant is perfect to enjoy downtown views, their floor to ceiling windows has lots of light coming in which we loved for the vibe.

FILET MIGNON 8oz

Food and service were amazing. The view of the city at night from the restaurant is gorgeous paired with the beautiful waterfall with rainbow lighting. My choice of entree was filet mignon cooked medium. The filet was so tender and juicy it melted in my mouth. Best steak I've had in years . The price is a little on the higher end but well worth it due to the amazing dining experience.

Parc gives off an elevated vibe immediately when you walk in the door. With white linens covering the tables and servers dressed in ties, it feels very fancy. The tables are close together and there was a giant lamp hanging very low from the ceiling that was very in the way of our table. Every time someone stood up, they hit their head on the lamp. We ordered charred burrata and truffle fries to start. Both were phenomenal! The burrata was hot and had a lot of flavorful toppings. It should come with another slice of bread but I digress. The aioli that came with the fries was also very good. For $15 a plate, we hoped for more fries. The lobster bisque ($17) had a few chunks of lobster but was a very small portion for the price. The table rated it a B+. A friend ordered the steak tacos. She didn't love them as they were served on a single (typically double) corn shell that fell apart with each bite she took. She ended up eating all the steak with a fork and leaving behind the tacos shells. I enjoyed the shrimp with squid ink pasta. Extremely garlicky (not a bad thing) with a fresh spicy tomato sauce. It was pretty good! Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals including roasted salmon, burger, and chopped salad.

(Last visited October 9, 2023.) On September 26, 2023 my father passed away. His funeral was October 4, 2023. My parents' anniversary was October 9th. So I wanted to take my mom out to a nice dinner because well, she would've been with Dad today. :-( I decided on Parc because I heard great things, read great reviews and it's somewhere she's never been. So we made reservations and we brought a picture of my dad to "sit" with us in his remembrance. Here's how things went... Atmosphere/Appearance: This place oozes elegance. There is no private parking lot since this place is downtown near Campus Martius, but once inside it just feels good to be there. There's lots of warm, yellow lighting, plush, soft booths, white tablecloths, minimal wall decor, but awesome chandeliers. I know there was music, I just can't remember what kind was playing. It was just so nice to be in here. There's a huge outdoor seating area as well, but it was a wee-bit cold for that. Service: Everything was exquisite. We had no problems whatsoever, our server had a personality, showed empathy for our recent loss and just made sure we had everything that we needed. Food: We started with a tuna tartare that was so well put together. The tuna was fresh, the avocado was flavorful and the wonton chips provided the perfect light, salty crispy to complement the creamy textures. We got some kind of salad, but as I look at their current menu I don't recognize it as they change their menu every so often. No matter, it was delicious, crispy with a slight sweet and nutty taste due to its ingredients. For my entree I went with some sort of seafood dish, you just gotta look at my pictures. Lol. REGARDLESS, everything we had here was fantastic. Mom had the roasted chicken with parmesan fries. She likes to keep it simple. Dessert was also excellent. Value: This is a NICE place. It isn't Michelin Star tasting menu level of expensive, but this is date night. This is special occasion. This is birthday dinner. This is celebration of a promotion kinds of value. Bring the wallet, spare no expense and truly enjoy yourself. Something Extra: I can't say enough good about this place, but here's what restored a little bit of my faith in humanity... Word got around the restaurant of what had happened to our family recently and that today was my parents' actual anniversary. At first, an anonymous guest paid for my drinks, which I was truly thankful for. Then at the end of the dinner... someone else paid for our entire meal. We were so grateful and wanted to thank these people, but they didn't want the attention since they did it anonymously. This speaks volumes of the kinds of people who dine here and represent the restaurant as a whole. Thank you to those who took care of my mom and I that night during a dark time in our lives.

Good vibe, ambience, waitress with dress code, pretty upscale place for brunch, you pay for all frills. I ordered fdrink, mushroom gnocchi and avocado toast. Overall good exp while celebrating women's day

Woodward Salad - Not great
Jessica R.

I haven't been to Parc in quite awhile, and I wasn't wowed with my visit. I got the Woodward Salad and didn't really like it. The grilled chicken didn't taste grilled. Rather it tasted like that salad kit chicken you get in the grocery store with the fake grill marks. The grilled artichokes were ice cold, and tasted like they came out of a can, and not off a grill. The salad was really bland o

Charred burrata
Alex D.

Very nice spot, cozy, with friendly staff. The appetizers were phenomenal. We had the charred burrata and the short rib Arancini. For entrees we had the mushroom gnocchi and the cast iron filet tips. These were disappointing because they were so salty. We also had crispy Brussel sprouts that were very good and nice size to share. If the food wasn't as salty this could be easily a 4 or 5 star place.

When making a reservation, it is required that you hold the reservation with a credit card and there are stern warnings about no shows and tipping. I was expecting an exceptional fine dining experience for this level of coverage and warning, looking forward to our night out at such a happening spot. Far from it. We were seated immediately at a nice table with a beautiful double oriental lily in the center but in a dirty front window. Fun... Squint and I could see past the dirt to actually enjoy the venue. Unfortunately, it was also extremely loud. So loud, there was no way to hear the server. I had to change seats just to hear her, which changed the view. She apologized profusely but I was at a loss as to why management wasn't doing anything about them or offering anything to the parties around them that were clearly disturbed. This table of 12 next to us was screaming laughing and yelling. No one else in the place was carrying on, though the place is small and definitely above average volume in general at peak dinner time. The bar area was also rented out for an event which made it very difficult to walk around to the restroom or for the servers to navigate through to the tables. Still trying to make the best of it, I found a bottle of wine. This dinner was our Christmas present to our friend, who had a tough year and has always wanted to come to Parc to have dinner and see the lights. My husband and I have been here a few times but to the bar for happy hour before a show or just in the area. When the second server came over and got the bottle name, he ran off so fast, my husband didn't get to order his drink. We couldn't call after him, as it was too loud. We had to wait for him to return to put in a drink order. The service was very nice and attentive in filling our glasses, but needing something while one of your servers is in the main room, in a corner booth chowing on a dessert, is a little annoying. The $65 bottle Nebbiolo d'Alba was very weak in body, which could have been avoided. The server (truman?) confessed that he could not tell me anything about the wines (was it dry, off dry or sweet) nor did he go find someone that did. It was hard enough to communicate with the volume anyway and he thought that it should be fine. I just ordered it. It was dry but weak. $65 for meh bottle. This visit just kept getting worse. I ordered the burrata shareable plate to start. It was good with a fun presentation. When it was time to order dinner, the woman server said they had no specials but recommended the New York strip and Bolognese pasta combo. I asked about the Flat Iron steak and she said she wouldn't recommend it, but just because she didn't like the texture, so I went with her recommendation of the combo. DO NOT get the combo. For $57 I had a perfectly cooked pasta and TINY portion of strip that was covered in a sauce. YOU DO NOT COVER STEAK IN SAUCE WHEN IT'S NOT ON THE MENU, PARC. smh Not to mention the promise of burrata on the pasta was actually a teaspoon on top. This plate was a joke of a dinner. I give up. I ordered another bottle of wine (same wine as I didn't want that stress of trying to pick another bottle, at least we knew what we were getting) and asked for a dessert menu. No dessert menu. She rattled off the selections and we ordered a couple pieces of the cheesecake. At $24 each, she should have produced a fracking menu or TOLD us of the cost of the desserts. The butter pecan cheesecake was bigger than my meal so I guess it was a better value anyway. We surely didn't need two of them and it would have been nice to know this before ordering. All in all this was an epic fail. I cannot recommend Parc for dinner, even on a Tuesday night at 6:30pm. $500+ for three people and the whole experience was a disappointment. I hate to tell people of my experience because they ask but I cannot recommend Parc anymore. Please do better, PARC.

Can you bring in bottles of wine and if so what is the corkage fee per bottle?

Hi Carl, we allow up to 2 wine bottles to be brought into the restaurant, as long as they are not wine bottles that are on our menu. The corkage fee is $25 each. Please call us at (313) 922-7272 if you have any more questions!

Is the seating all grouped together or can you get a private table for two?

Hi Chelsea, we do have individual tables for two! They share a long bench but the tables are not connected. Hope to see you soon!

Where is the closest place to park, besides street parking?

There is a parking garage that attaches to the Quicken Loans building. I find that best in inclement weather. There are also numerous lots surrounding Campus Martius.

Is there anything I can order as a vegan? Can they make vegan versions of some of their dishes?

Bryan, Sorry I do not know the answer to your question.

When is happy hour?

Our server Chelsea was very knowledgeable of the wine & food menus and thoughtful in her recommendations to ensure we were all satisfied with the meal. My wine snob uncle left impressed and my vegan mom left full carrying leftovers. The food is shareable and there was plenty to go around at our table of five. This is a wine bar, no cocktails. And, you will not find any mass produced wines on their extensive list of options. Most all of the wines they offer are estate bottled, French style wines where growers control everything from the planting of the grapes to the bottle. It's an education, and one their staff seems so well versed on, helping you find something you will enjoy. they allowed us to sample a couple before ending on a really good Rose. We ordered a number of small plates which included: Sourdough with beillevaire butter, a generous portion of bread, served warm, soft inside, crunchy outside and the butter was the best tasting butter we have ever had! We also had the shrimp cocktail with horseradish sauce, 6 nice sized shrimp, firm, cold, fresh and very flavorful. Lastly whet they called a "tiny salad" it's basically a Caesar. This was also amazing with breadcrumbs mixed into the dressing, so flavorful. We would do all of these dishes over again. No Meal is complete without dessert; we chose the burnt basque cheesecake with Pedro ximenex sherry. This hands down is the best cheesecake we have ever had, and we love cheesecake. Our server was very cordial, helpful and so knowledgeable not just educating us about their wine selections, but also about their sourcing and philosophy on food. So glad we had the experience. We will definitely be back again.
