Excellent! Great food, views and service! I highly recommend! Andiamo is a Detroit staple and the one at the Ren Cen put at the top of your list!

A group of us had our White Elephant Christmas party here and had a wonderful experience. Our group was fairly large (20 people) so we had several servers taking care of us. They paced everything out so we could enjoy our conversations and exchange gifts all while being attentive to our needs. Appetizers were abundant and some shared. Calamari is excellent here. Salads are big for dinner salad size and come with most meals. I had the gnocchi all'Aldo. It's tossed in a creamy palmina sauce and fontina cheese. Simple and delicious. Their gnocchi is handmade. My girlfriend had the fettuccine Alfredo with seared scallops and shrimp and topped with a good size lobster tail. A few folks got lamb chops and commented on how tasty they were. After drinks, appetizers, bread service and a main course everyone was pretty stuffed and had no room for dessert. Located in the Renaissance Center I've dined at this location several times and you can't beat the views of the Detroit River. Though this particular visit was during the frigid temperatures they have outside seating during the warmer months. Andiamo has been a staple in fine Italian dining and has managed to stay relevant over the years by offering consistently good food, a menu that rotates seasonally, and hiring staff who care.

Andiamos doesn't disappoint in the customer service area nor their food. Having been a chef for decades I'm often very critical when I go out to eat. But the ribeye steak was cooked perfectly to temperature and the vegetables were well cooked and very flavorful. As you can see the chicken Alfredo is well seasoned, and the portions are generous. We had dinner here before going to see The Lion King, and I must say it was a wonderful experience. Treat yourself sometime to a wonderful Italian or steak dinner at Andiamos and I promise you will not be disappointed.

The service was great. The sea bass and tiramisu was AMAZING. Signature Cocktails are yummy. Steer clear of their version of calamari.....

Andiamo is located in the Renaissance Center, aka the GM building. It's not the hotel restaurant. It is actually quite fancy and definitely expensive. You can do some serious damage to your expense account here and yes, me and my two colleagues definitely did that. Calamari to start and with two entrees and two rounds of drinks, we landed at just under $300. But the food was fabulous, the service from Hussein was attentive and excellent, and this was a great meal. I had the Olivia's chicken, which was served with a roasted vegetables and a very garlicky sauce. The Pinot Grigio with it was perfectly tasty! If you're looking for Italian and you want to impress, Andiamo is the spot. [Review 484 of 2025 - 387 in Michigan - 24046 overall]

I had a DELICIOUS Thanksgiving Breakfast! So many amazing choices. Everything was freshly prepared, organized and beautifully displayed. Plentiful portions and entertainment added to the ambiance and festive atmosphere. Service staff were friendly and helpful.

Been to all the Andiamo locations throughout Metro Detroit. The one on the river in downtown Detroit is by far my favorite. Has the most authentic Italian cuisine taste. Got the three pepper chicken angle hair and the lasagna. Always consistent and great atmosphere with friendly staff.

First off, I want to say that the food at this restaurant is sooooo good!! The vibe and feel of the restaurant is upscale and comfortable. That's where the great experience ended for me. Other than the hostess who was SUPER NICE, the rest of the treatment I received was horrible. My waitress, Katie was a b#%*!! Maybe it was because I was dining alone & taking up a table in her section or she hates her job but it was bad. Also rude was the fact that the manager was going around to all of the tables asking how their experience was but she never once acknowledged me or another lady who was sitting alone at a different table near where I was sitting. We were the only two patrons in the restaurant she didn't talk to. I don't understand it. But I finally understood why my waitress was so bad when at the end they shoved a 20% tip down my throat when I was planning on tipping Katie $1 to make a point. Unbelievable. I won't be back

This is one of those places that you dream about after you leave. This was the BEST chicken Alfredo I have had in a very long time! The starter bread was good, salad was good and I even got carrot cake for dessert! Located in the renaissance hotel so convenient if you're staying there. Parking would be difficult unless you could valet at the parking garage for the hotel. Prices were reasonable for the upscale of the restaurant. My server was phenomenal as well! I cannot wait to return next time I'm in Detroit for work.

Andiamo is a place with good ambience but food is very average. There was live music and server was good who explained all vegetarian options. I ordered both appetizer, mushroom was still ok but other dish with bread had a bit bitter taste. Although sauce and baked cheese as toppings were good. Minestrone soup was basic n served in steel dish, I wonder why. Caesar salad was basic too. Pasta was a bit undercooked. Price for food is high in comparison to taste.

Stopped in Thursday evening without a reservation. They were able to seat us immediately in the atrium area of the ren cen, which was fine with us. Our server was attentive and other staff checked in on us as well. We had drinks and dinner. They do not spare the alcohol. Our drinks were deliciously potent! We chose a strawberry daiquiri, espresso martini, a Leonardo da Vinci (bourbon & amaretto) and a godfather (a version of an old fashion). Entrees were 5 pepper chicken w/angel hair, chicken fettuccini Alfredo & Olivia's chicken. Everything was good, the five pepper had a nice hint of spice and our group requested extra Alfredo sauce for their pasta. Although we didn't take pics, we enjoyed the variety and taste of the offerings in the bread basket, and the house creamy Parmesan dressing is one of my favorites. Overall, I would not hesitate to return.

There was a 2 top table at the back that we were seated at - we could have sat at the bar also - and it was a great spot. We ordered the tasting menu and WOW, every course was amazing. I'll post pics because the presentation was gorgeous for each item. They have a small cocktail and wine and beer selection, but that was fine. My son got their Shrub Mocktail and I got the Shrub with Sake. Both were delicious and so interesting. I can't pick a favorite item because they were all so good, but the Torched Mackerel and Poached Bosc Pear were tied for #1, followed by the Salmon, Oysters and the crazy good Blood Orange dessert. The shrimp toast was just ok for me, not bad, just not as good as everything else. Additionally the service was outstanding. For a tiny place they did everything right. They explained each course, brought out fresh utensils for every course - YEA! - and made sure we had good pacing. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly and enhanced our meal. As others have mentioned, seating is somewhat limited, but that only adds to the excellent service and intimate experience. I wish I remembered the names of our server and the manager because they were incredibly kind, accommodating, and helpful throughout the evening. One example of the thoughtful service: I was torn between two white wines, and since my partner ordered one of them, our server offered to bring a small sample of the other so I could compare and choose what I liked best. We also mentioned that we had never tried caviar before but didn't want to commit to a larger portion. They suggested a "bump" for $5 each, walked us through how to enjoy it properly (on the hand, letting it warm slightly), and made the experience feel fun and approachable. We were seated at the bar, which gave us the opportunity to chat more with the server and manager and watch the team prepare dishes for other tables. It genuinely felt like sitting at the chef's table. We both opted for the tasting menu, which changes from time to time, and we were very happy with the selection. We also added the lobster roll, and our server thoughtfully timed it so we could enjoy it alongside the warmer course. The meal began with two different oysters, one topped with caviar, giving us another chance to enjoy it. Next was the shrimp cocktail, which included wasabi--but not in an overpowering way. The flavor was present yet balanced, allowing everything else to shine. The escargot course was especially creative and delicious, paired with basil oil, pepper jelly, and hints of balsamic. While it might sound unusual, the flavors blended beautifully. I expected the pepper jelly to dominate, but it was surprisingly subtle. Next was the potato pavé served with a scallop. The textures were remarkably similar, and the scallop was cooked perfectly. The lobster roll was very good, though I personally found the bread a bit denser than I prefer--I usually like a more buttery, Texas-toast style--but my partner loved it. The turbot followed, accompanied by a chestnut beurre blanc that was incredibly silky and flavorful. It paired wonderfully with the king trumpet mushrooms, black truffle and the fish. The final tasting course was the petit fours: three small cakes--matcha, red velvet, and ginger molasses. They were slightly dense, but still a nice way to end the meal. We also added the house-made basil ice cream (because the basil oil earlier was so good), and that was an excellent decision. Although my birthday had been a few months earlier, once the staff heard we were using a birthday gift card, they surprised me with vanilla ice cream, sprinkles, and a candle--such a thoughtful and unexpected touch. They also treated us to a small glass of dessert wine. By the end of the night, we knew we had found our new favorite place to celebrate. The overall experience is absolutely worth the price point, and I only wish more places were like Mink. We can't wait to return.
