    Shrimp scampi
    Jodie R.

We sat outside on a perfect day. The food and drinks were delicious. My husband went on his own previously, ate delicious octopus, and raved about the service. Today, the shrimp scampi was outstanding and the mixed grill plate could've fed 3 people! So very good. Our waitress was great, but they were a wee bit understaffed. That said--she tried so hard and the place still got a solid 4.5. Can't wait to go back!

The Market Platter. Lambchops, Pork, Chicken, Tadziki and Greek Fries. So good.. very delicious. Huge Lamchops!

This is the best Greek food in Detroit and certainly the best food in Greektown. A great place too! [[HIGHLIGHT]]You can dress this up for a formal fun night or just enjoy old school hospitality in super clean and new place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My lambchops were delicious, easily my new favorite; they are the thickest and meatiest I have had. We had lemon rice soup, saganaki (Flaming Cheese) and Greek Fries.. Who knew Greece grew its own potatoes? The fries are delicious and light :-) Special thank to the kitchen for the outstanding food and special thanks to Spero, Yanni, Nina & Emma for the gracious, engaged and attentive hospitality.

So Amazing ! Food is spectacular! Best place to eat in Greektown ! The owners are very generous and kind ! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great ambiance - inside and outside[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I came here for dinner with my bachelorette party. The girls really treated us for my special occasion, [[HIGHLIGHT]]I felt very taken care of and I love the Mediterranean beach club vibe of the restaurant. Every detail seemed really thought out and chic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was really reasonably priced for the large portion sizes. I ordered the lemon chicken piccata and the sauce was tart and somewhat light. There were a perfect amount of capers and the chicken and rice were well cooked. There was construction going on around the restaurant the weekend we visited which made parking/entry a little tricky.

    Happy hour flyer!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cool little bar with very good vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is in greektown on the corner so you really can miss it. It's been awhile since I've been home and in greektown so this was new to me. But personally I thought this was a really good thing to happen to come across. The bartenders were super cool. I have zero complaints about that. They made drinks that were custom to what I was looking for and they had good conversation. Outside of that. We had a really good time just kicking it at the bar. We actually went back a couple of times on the same weekend. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The building itself, all the decorations are beautiful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have some wine in the back so I know that there's a wine list. That's probably pretty cool. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's plenty of space and plenty of seating outside of the bar even though the bar is actually a pretty decent size.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There's actually an upstairs as well, but at the same time the upstairs is only open during certain hours. So keep that in mind. If you come around night time, you'll definitely notice things happening on the top. They have a really good happy hour so I want to make sure I put that out there. First time I went was happy hour, it was really good. I didn't do any food but we did do some martinis because they were discounted. Although I would have paid for a price for them that day too. I would definitely spend a block on this spot. I actually want to go ahead and try upstairs just to see what it looks like and see what the vibes are. Not sure what kind of crap that is but I had a really good time and I can't trust that enough.

First time here since it has been changed from the Delmar. Major upgrade! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is beautiful and modern with cozy vibes. Perfect for a night out with friends or a cute date night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Let's get into the food: Appetizers: We had the Greek Salad, which we enjoyed the fresh veggies and delicious Greek dressing. The Fried Calamari with Chipotle Aioli. Then, the Trio Dip with Hummus, Spicy Feta, Tzatziki with Pita. All of dips were delicious! Main course: Seafood Pasta: flavorful, seasoned to perfection. You can literally see the flavor. I asked for no octopus but I think they forgot my scallops as well. All I had was shrimp, but it was still delightful. Branzino: buttery, succulent and melts in your mouth! Also, it was interesting to watch the deboning process. Braised Lamb: The lamb was extremely tender and over the mashed potatoes in red wine reduction made it incredibly rich and comforting. Overall, everything we had was 10/10. I would definitely recommend and return to try more on the menu.

This kabab trios wasn't bad either, the lamb came out great, the chicken was dry,and the steak was over cooked, should've been medium rare.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Let's just say not bad for downtown Detroit, the area was under construction but I was able to find an awesome Greek Resturant with a decor like no other.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a great place for groups and small get togetherness.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 1. The bartender was super friendly and very accommodating. She made a few suggestions based on what I told her for food and beverage, keep up the awesomeness. 2. The food wasn't too bad, I had orders the swordfish entree and the kabab trios. (See pictures for yourself) The swordfish was a little dry but not too had, the lamb kabab came out perfectly cooked and seasoned, the chicken was alright, wish the used dark meat instead of white meat, and the steak kabab were over cooked, a medium rare would have killed it.

Ahhh the old Delmar.... You'd never recognize it. You can see every bit of renovation because this spot is absolutely beautiful. Sat at the bar per norm and had my Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest of the year. The music pumping electronic music, the staff buzzing around completing drink orders, and Lions football on the horizon on a crisp early not quite fall day. It was beautiful. The staff was absolutely spectacular. The restaurant was actually ready for the day and was fully staffed, never had to wait for anything. Oktoberfest at my neck and call. Seafood pasta was ordered and seafood pasta was eaten and it was absolutey OMG Yummy!!!!!!! - did you see how many exclamation points? So damn good. Aesthetically pleasing and fantastically delicious. What more could you ask for. They do have a rooftop patio, didn't make my way up there but it looks lovely from street level. Great experience!

We were walking by and noticed that the old sports bar that used to be here has changed! What a totally different vibe! The inside was absolutely gorgeous! I wasn't crazy about my drink but that was my own fault. The servers were all white nice. We split some seafood pasta and I was still hungry so we ended up getting fries too. We really enjoyed it here and would definitely come back!

    Bartender at Mati in Detroit
    Sherie F.

We visited Mati in Detroit for dinner tonight for the first time and it was surprisingly delicious! We Sat at the bar and the bartender, Kendall, made the best old fashioned (used the good Luxardo cherries not the cheap ones). It was delightful discussing bourbons and gin with her, as she was very knowledgeable. I ordered the chicken medallions, and they were nice and thin, very tender, and flavorful. It was almost too much for me to finish, but they were so good I didn't want to stop. My husband had the sword steak and said it was fantastic. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is new, very clean, with a fun casual vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommended.

    Chicken gyro

Service was amazing! Niko knows how to make you feel so welcome and income! Food and drinks just as amazing! We got a chicken gyro and lamb gyro and that did not disappoint!!

You know you always have to start with this at a Greek restaurant. Yum

One of the best restaurants I've tried in a long time. Everything we tried was AMAZING. My favorite now is the alfredo pasta dish. The decor inside is top notch too with a friendly and attentive staff. You can get a comfy table or grab a seat at bar and have dinner. They now take casino comps from Greektown Casino/Penn/Hollywood. Enjoy.

The theme was "Yes, Chef: An exploration of culinary icons through a cocktail lens." Each drink was inspired by or dedicated to a famous culinary icon, and you can read about each one in the index. We each ordered one drink from each section. From the Opening, I chose the Diaspora Club, which was so refreshing and delicious. Then from the Principals, I chose the Chingona, which was a little bit spicy and savory but still so refreshing. To Finish, I chose the Chocolatier Cosmo, which came with a tiny house-made salted dark chocolate. I loved all three cocktails I ordered, especially the chocolatier cosmo because it was perfectly sweet and went so well with the small piece of chocolate. For food, we started off with the crispy pork belly milk bread. For my entree, I ordered the miso butter gnocchi. It was kind of on the salty side but I still really liked it. The apple sofrito added a bit of sweetness to it. For dessert, we had to get the rhubarb coffee cake, which came with strawberry ice cream. Omg one of the best desserts I've ever had!! I never thought of combining cinnamon coffee cake with rhubarb or strawberry but it's perfect, and I might have to make something like that soon. Service was great and we were seated right away at 8pm on a Saturday despite not having a reservation. Food and drinks came out promptly and timed perfectly. We spent about 1.5 hours here and we never felt rushed.

The cocktails are creative, beautifully presented, and perfectly balanced. You can tell there's serious thought behind every ingredient. It is tucked away in an alley, and yes, the trash bins may briefly make you question your life choices. But once you spot the glass block window, you know you are in the right place. The second you walk in, the vibe completely changes. You are greeted by a friendly host, then brought into this tiny, dark, cozy little speakeasy that feels like it seats maybe 25 people total, including the bar. It is intimate in the best way, with a gorgeous liquor wall and a rolling ladder that makes the whole room feel dramatic without trying too hard. The drinks are the reason to come. They are creative, unusual, and genuinely unlike what you will find at a standard cocktail bar. Some of the spirit combinations sound like they should not work on paper, but somehow they absolutely do. The mixologists clearly know what they are doing, because every "wait, really?" ingredient pairing seems to turn into something balanced, interesting, and dangerously easy to appreciate. The only things to keep in mind are the size and the pricing. It can get busy quickly because it is so small, and cocktails can run anywhere from around $20 to over $100 depending on what you order. Not exactly a casual "oops, I had three" kind of place unless your wallet has been emotionally prepared. Bad Luck Bar is moody, memorable, and one of the more unique cocktail experiences in Detroit. It feels hidden, thoughtful, and just a little mischievous, which is exactly what a good speakeasy should be.

I took one look at the menu and cocktail list, and determed that we would be going somewhere else to eat afterwards, thinking, "this won't be a long visit at all." But oh was I pleasantly surprised. First round of cocktails set the tone and gave us the courage to go ahead and try some of the plates. We decided on the shrimp, pork belly and gorgonzola cheese ones. Absolutely delicious. So then we decided on round two of cocktails the plate of chips, avocado toast and another round of pork belly! Again, divine. Although I will admit, everything got dipped into the pork belly sauce. Was tempted to do a round three to try the highly recommended lobster rolls but decided to save something for the next visit because there will be one. They executed all the small plates exceptionally well. And the cocktails were top quality! Only complaint was the seats are very low to the ground. I'm short and my legs were aching.
