The place can get really busy on the weekends. It is best to have a reservation. Service was also a little slow they definitely seemed that they were understaffed. Candy bar is one of my favorite spots in Detroit. It's so beautiful and girly. The ambiance is like no other. You feel like a mermaid coming here. The lighting is really calming and I love the chandelier and disco ball. I always feel so relaxed when I come here. I have tried several drinks here but I tried the pickletini and it was so good. I love pickles to begin with but it tasted like a dirty martini but way better. This is in the siren hotel which is also so gorgeous. The server we had was a sweetheart he let me try a little bit of the pickletini in a shot glass before ordering it because I was so curious about it. Love candy bar so much read more

One of our favorite cocktail bars in Detroit! Straight out of Palm Beach, this small cocktail bar inside the lobby of the Siren Hotel is the perfect night time escape. Excellent bartenders mixing up beautiful cocktails for about $15-$18. There are also plenty of zero proof options. Food menu is limited to small table bites. Be sure to get a reservation during the weekends. read more

The drinks were good and they had a good selection of it. We went with a group of 4 and made reservations, but it was a little tight where we sat. It definitely felt like a bar where if you wanted to be comfortably sat that you should just bring two or three people. Our server was very nice but I felt like she forgot about us a couple times. It was a good experience overall, but nothing was particularly spectacular read more

This is such a hot and trending spot. The space is fairly small and the seats at the bar have reservations. Make sure you make one to ensure a spot. They have an amazing cocktail menu of course and the space inside is very cozy. Since we didn't have a reservation, we only had 20 minutes at a table before a reservation was coing in. I tried the goldfinch and it was absolutely delicious. They had so may other fun cocktails to try so I will be back. Great cozy spot for a wonderful drink. read more

We managed to get seated fast despite not having a reservation on a busy Friday evening. Thank you;)! I don't prefer sweet drinks so I told our server & was directed to what ended up being quite a sweet drink. My hubby got the Old Fashioned and it was only so-so. Ambience and vibes are perfect for a date, birthday, night out with the girls or general good vibes. With super chic and elevated cocktails, the service was pristine and the flavour profiles with the cocktails that we had were one of a kind. We ended up getting one of our drinks comped because it took a bit longer to get one since they needed to make fresh whipped cream. Drinks were delicious and strong, but not overwhelmingly so. Talk about a hidden gem. I lived in downtown Detroit for months before ever finding about this place, and now it's a must visit. The drinks are absolutely phenomenal. Candy Bar is such a fun little gem. Their take on the Cosmopolitan was extremely yummy, easily a standout. While the bar itself is very small, it feels cozy, intimate, and lively, with retro decor that's clearly well thought out and adds so much character. One of the coolest parts is that the bartenders get to create some of the drinks themselves, which makes the menu feel playful and unique. Gorgeous venue! Located in The Siren hotel, this is a lovely bar. Shaun is an incredible mixologist. I loved the Beekeeper's Bouquet and the Scarlet Begonia. My friend enjoyed the Goblin and the Double Negroni. We snacked on the kettle chips and they were crispy, fresh, and well seasoned. Excellent service from Hailee. This is the right place if you want to impress a date or really treat yourself. The bar staff is amazing and their seasonal cocktails are a must! And the decor is so elegantly extra. You're going to want to take some pictures. If you or someone you know is a non-drinker, don't fret. They have a whole section of the menu for craft mocktails. I cannot recommend them enough and I hear they are pretty good to work for too. read more

As a guest of the hotel and not be able to use the bar, not cool. Went there after ball game getting ready to head up for the evening, look into the door/shade....? And ask for a few chairs. Nope we are full booked, and about half of the bar was empty....and it's very small...oh well, they don't have to ever worry about me again... Not my kind of place... read more

Tried several times to make a reservation here and no one ever got back to me. Everytime I called the phone number on the website, I was directed to email regarding a reservation. I emailed more than once and never received an email back. I called again about 2 weeks after not receiving an email back and was told I need to email again. Will never try to come here again. read more

Candy Bar is tucked away inside the Siren Hotel and brings out the cutest pink tropical vibes. It is a small area and the sofas are tight, but you're always comfortable. The staff is super sweet and are attentive. They come by pretty frequently and fast. I got a bees knees of sorts and my friend got one that was banana flavored. The bees knees was delicious and it's a simple cocktail done well. The banana one was just too artificial for my liking. Some of their extra creative cocktails really do travel that fine line, so be careful. I've heard amazing things about their espresso martini - so if that's your thing it might be a great go-to here. If you want to come here, make sure you try to get a reservation as it's always packed on weekends. read more

It's got a mix of elegance and quirkiness. They have some NA options for people not feeling like drinking and some creative cocktails with both classics and fun twists. I got the NA Green Boi. The service was good - we showed up early for our reservation and were able to be seated because it wasn't busy. The place is just one big room, though, so I'd still suggest making a reservation to be safe--it's a pretty small, intimate spot. This tiny bar served the best drinks I had in a week in Detroit, and it wasn't close. I started by ordering a Hemingway Daiquiri, which I'd never had before. Josh served up the classic with a personal twist, and it was impeccably balanced. He broke down the recipe in detail for me when I asked, and I walked out of the bar a while later with two different adaptations of classics to try at home, and a fresh perspective on some familiar spirits and drinks. Place is cute but it was disappointing. Our server came up to us and said our "time was up," while no one else around us had this enforced. It felt very targeted. On top of that, when we said we wanted to order more drinks, they refused to let us. When I asked the hostess, she denied it and lied, saying the people seated next to us had only been there for 20 minutes when we had walked in with them. We spent a 100, weren't drunk or dressed inappropriately. There are better spots in Detroit, don't recommend. read more

I won't lie, when I realized we were staying at the Siren which houses Candy Bar, I got really excited. I've heard about this spot for a while but never really knew where it was. I was thinking Nate and I could just pop in for a drink right when they opened, but we ended up missing that timeframe. I kept checking for a reservation but the only options were at 12 am or later...! Luckily we happened to stop by and inquire about the wait around 8 pm on a Saturday and were told we could have the last two seats at the bar, but only for a strict 40 minute time limit. That was totally okay by us as we have a one drink limit when we're checking out more than one bar. The bar is teeny tiny; you really need a reservation. It's decorated in the same dusty pink found throughout the Siren hotel and the highlights are the huge disco ball and enormous chandelier above the bar. The menu has lots of great, unique creations as well as some nice bourbon options and other spirits. I got the Sometimes, Always: tequila, watermelon, aperol, lemon, sugar, and Nate got the Dulce Trejo: mezcal, cacao liqueur, montenegro, oat milk, and chocolate. The bartender serving us whipped them up super fast and they were both delicious, but the Dulce Trejo was one of my favorite drinks I've tried in recent memory. I am exploring mezcal and haven't always liked how smoky it can be, but this combination of flavors really worked well to create a creamy, dessert-y drink that Nate and I both loved. We let the bartender know how good we thought it was and he told us it was one of his own creations. He said that whenever he makes up a drink with tequila or mezcal in it, he names it after Danny Trejo. I thought that was funny and interesting, and I want to drink that drink again. They're not cheap at $15-$16, but I'd stop by again for a nightcap. read more

The Art Deco era vibes create a beautiful and intimate experience. I love the ambiance-- full of charm and nostalgia. The bar is located inside the historic Siren Hotel downtown Detroit. The mixologist was very knowledgable about the history of the bar/hotel and he made excellent drinks. Very friendly and welcoming. No food is available in the bar however there's another bar/restaurant located upstairs with food. read more

Everything in here is like a light pink color which makes it very cute, classy and intimate. This is perfect for a date night or just to grab a drink and good conversation with friends/family, etc. the host and bartenders were very nice and knowledgeable on all the drinks and cocktails they served. Since a gratuity had already been added to the bill, the comment felt like subtle pressure to leave an additional tip. Mistakes happen, and we're happy to update this review if the billing issue is resolved.
