Here is the lay of the land: Check in at the little red table in the center of the outdoor courtyard if you want "full service". - which means eating and drinking at a table with wait staff. It is not seat yourself at the outdoor tables, like we originally thought. There is a nice sized bar indoors and seating at the bar is first come first served. We ordered several of the small plate "snacks" and I can tell you that the hummus is not to be missed. It is served with (homemade?) tortilla chips that are absolutely addictive. They have lots of choices for wine, beer, and cocktails. Towards the back entrance of the property, there is a drink truck where you can also order "walkaway" food and drinks. Not entirely sure where you sit with the food/drinks you order, as most of the seating seemed reserved for full service. Additionally, there is a photo booth for pics (long line) and Warda Patisserie is right next door and accessible through a garden walkway.

The owners know how to do it! They have it locked in. It is located on Michigan Avenue next to Slow's BBQ in Corktown, so it's easy access for date night, girls night, or anytime! We tried each of the four cocktails on the Mutiny menu. They were flavorful & delicious! We were delighted to hear about the pop up, as we miss our favorite Tiki spot. But we will definitely come back to The Sugar House!!

One of these spots is Time WIll Tell. A perfectly fashioned cocktail bar, it lean and light and full of delight. Championed by charming touches like the juke box, the continually adapting menu along with their classics makes this a great spot to grab a drink before dinner or even a nightcap. The staff is well knowledged, even better skilled and will adapt to your likes and dislikes. Can't ask much more than that.

We made reservations in a weekend but it wasn't necessary at 5. What I didn't know what this theme is a pop up much like Miracle Bar around Christmas. The mugs are not really made for The Skip and can be found online for less. Most importantly is the drinks are not good. They're not spirit forward, they're full of mixers. Such a bummer because they do make good cocktails occasionally. We were one and done this evening due to the bad drinks and loads of people who brought their kids to this bar. The decor is great. Service is attentive and friendly. Not in a rush to return.

The employees. The place has the tiki vibe but the heart was ripped out when they hired a group of people who don't have that spirit of what tiki is about. To me it represents a way of life focused on kindness, unity, humility, patience, and mutual regard. It felt more exclusionary and lack of kindness almost an irritation to be in the service industry. I do hope great things for the owner in the future because he did have something special there. Wish his vision was seen by the employees.

But then as the night went on the girl became busy with tidying up the place. The guy bartender totally was dismissive. We had to uncomfortably wave at him because he was too busy entertaining everybody else aside from us. Not a, "are you guys ok? Can I get anything else for you?" Nope, we became an afterthought. He'd rather entertain people who can't order a proper dry martini correctly. I dunno, maybe he deemed We didnt belong there. I guess thats how they weed out people they dont want going in there. Im extremely disappointed. I had high hopes of this place being classy, but then ended up realizing they'd rather entertain pretentious patrons. Find me elsewhere. I was very pleasantly surprised! The space is beautiful, classy, and airy. We sat at the bar and had a nice chat -- the music was at a good volume. I only ordered wine -- their wine list is alright. Not bad for a bar that's clearly not wine-focused. My wife and a friend had cocktails and they both were good, particularly their espresso martini. For food, we shared patatas bravas, tortilla española, and croquetas de jamon, and they were all delicious. I'd legit come back for a full dinner. My only reason to not give this 5 stars is the drink service was very slow, even though the place wasn't busy. The two bartenders seemed friendly enough but weren't communicating very well, and kept forgetting to take and/or bring our orders. We also asked for the check and they kept forgetting to bring it until we asked again.
