Bar at the AC Hotel Detroit at the Bonstelle.

We were downtown looking for a bar to hang out at after our DSO concert (rather than spending an eternity waiting to get out of the parking garage), and this lovely spot popped up as "open late" and a 5 minute, .2 mile, walk from Orchestra Hall. It's a gorgeous bar/small plates restaurant with such warm ambiance it's hard to decide whether to cozy up to the bar, a table, or one of the lovely conversation spots scattered in the lobby. We chose cocktails from the menu which were fresh and delicious, and the bartender even made up a small "just one of my own" for my spouse to try as he loves Manhattans (I think ). We also ordered from the tapas menu and I'm so sorry I forgot to get a photo, but I will next time. The chicken skewer was delicious and just what we needed post concert. We'll definitely be back after our next concert and we're planning a future stay at the hotel as well! The Conservatory is open til midnight on Friday and Saturday for drinks and 11:15pm for the kitchen. Hurry, go try it out! *Photos are not my own, but from the website*

Food is good but small portions for the price. This is in a hotel lobby but is a beautiful space. Sangria is very good! Service was nice and the place was quiet

Wonderful setting for a bar, feels like a greenhouse with the glass roof. Appropriately called the "conservatory". Located within the AC hotel, this is part of the newer development opening in downtown Detroit. Having a delightful cocktail called "The Sword". Well balanced and mildly sweet due to Persimmon Liquor. Highly recommend. Looking forward to trying the Spanish forward food menu with standards such as Potatas Bravas and Tortilla. Lisa and staff are quite kind.

The inside restaurant area is also beautiful. We wanted to sit inside at the bar, so we waited for some seats to open up. If you want to sit outside, all you have to do is order at the bar and they'll serve your drinks in plastic cups for you to take outside. The rhubarb pie punch was so delicious I had to order it twice! Probably one of my favorite cocktails I've ever had. I also ordered the maurixio cattelan, which tasted like ginger ale. For a snack before dinner, we chose to get the burrata and it was so refreshing. The service was great and our bartender was super friendly! The logo with the little lamb is adorable. I bought one of their wine glasses with their logo on it too for just $10.

Nate and I stopped in on our most recent visit to Detroit and had a lovely experience. The space is tucked away but had a surprising amount of outdoor space--we were there in January but I'd love to come back in the summer. We were greeted right away and given a spot near the bar. The menu includes cocktails, lots of wine, and several tasty food options. It was quite busy inside, so it took a bit of time for our server to come over to us, but we weren't in a rush. They had ten cocktails on their list and I tried the bullet proof soul and Nate got the negroni alla perra. The ingredients list for some of the cocktails include things I've never heard of, but at a place like this, I just know it's going to be good. Our drinks were perfectly balanced and very tasty. We also ordered the mortadella sandwich to split--this was delicious. It was pretty messy, but worth it. It was perfectly toasted and full of mortadella. Everything on the menu sounded delicious and I would love to try more of the food options. Can't wait to visit again!

Our server was very welcoming and helped to set up our food order into courses that allowed us a very relaxing evening Cocktails were really good. I had a Last Word and it was very well done. The restaurant is decorated very nicely with warm wood trim. The bar area looked stellar and very French-bistro like. I will sit there next time No so Highs Food was good, but just OK. Between the two of us we had the beet salad, burger and steak tartare. Burger was good, but not the best smash burger that I've had. Beet salad was fine, however the cream cheese was a bit overpowering against the orange oil. It was dying for some citrus. Steak tartare was a bit dry, meaning that a small dab of olive oil would have added to the richness and overall mouth feel. I did not really taste the egg although I did see a dab of yolk on the tartare. Needed a bit of salt also to enhance the taste Menu was small, but it did cover a cross section of French bistro dishes. All in all, I thought it was a bit overpriced. So I will have to consider returning for a full meal. I would come back for a burger and beer at the bar.

The theme was "Yes, Chef: An exploration of culinary icons through a cocktail lens." Each drink was inspired by or dedicated to a famous culinary icon, and you can read about each one in the index. We each ordered one drink from each section. From the Opening, I chose the Diaspora Club, which was so refreshing and delicious. Then from the Principals, I chose the Chingona, which was a little bit spicy and savory but still so refreshing. To Finish, I chose the Chocolatier Cosmo, which came with a tiny house-made salted dark chocolate. I loved all three cocktails I ordered, especially the chocolatier cosmo because it was perfectly sweet and went so well with the small piece of chocolate. For food, we started off with the crispy pork belly milk bread. For my entree, I ordered the miso butter gnocchi. It was kind of on the salty side but I still really liked it. The apple sofrito added a bit of sweetness to it. For dessert, we had to get the rhubarb coffee cake, which came with strawberry ice cream. Omg one of the best desserts I've ever had!! I never thought of combining cinnamon coffee cake with rhubarb or strawberry but it's perfect, and I might have to make something like that soon. Service was great and we were seated right away at 8pm on a Saturday despite not having a reservation. Food and drinks came out promptly and timed perfectly. We spent about 1.5 hours here and we never felt rushed.
