I went here on a Tuesday with a group of girlfriends. Since we came when it just opened at 4pm, we got in right away. Since it is a rooftop, we took an elevator up and when we got to the floor, we were blown away by the views. I also love the decors which contains a lot of greenery. The service was quick. We order a variety of food and drinks. I really like the detroit vibe cocktail. All the food was delicous and good. The only thing I think they can do better are the chocolate chips cookies. I think because my bestie makes it so good, it is hard to compare.

They still have a few kinks to work out at the entrance. It's a bit chaotic and feels like a cattle call. You're instructed to sit on a bench and wait, but most people naturally head to the hostess stand to give their name, so there's a constant stream of people being redirected and others wondering if someone is cutting the line. Once you step into the gorgeous golden elevator, though, everything changes. The staff is genuinely friendly, the views are breathtaking, the cocktails are excellent, and the food is good. We happened to come on a perfect evening, which made the experience even better. In fairness, my steak was just slightly overcooked, and I think they're still working out the service. It was a bit slow at times (my water glass sat empty twice), and despite a wait downstairs, at least half the tables upstairs were empty, so they may simply be understaffed. That said, the warmth and professionalism of our servers went a long way. It's a beautiful addition, and I'm looking forward to coming back in a few months to see how it develops.

Not a huge fan of how the waiting list is set up, they don't really take names...they sort of make you form a line and I believe this is on purpose because there is plenty of seating but they don't want to overwhelm the staff! However if you want some of the best views in the city, this is your place! The menu is pretty solid, we only got a chocolate chip cookie because we had just left dinner and simply came to see some views before our concert. The chocolate chip cookie was pretty good and next time I'll be sure to try the chicken tenders! I did not order a drink but the bartender seemed a bit stressed making them... so I'm glad we didn't! Overall, service was good even with the crowd! My only complaint is the restroom situation, it is very dark and although my door was locked, two people were able to walk in on me. Made me uncomfortable and embarrassed! Luckily they weren't men but still not a good first impression :(

Checked out this new downtown spot with some friends, and overall we had a great time! The only downside was the long line just to get upstairs. As we got closer to the front, staff were handing out complimentary samples of sparkling water and prosecco, which was a nice touch and definitely helped pass the time. Once we made it upstairs, I was honestly surprised there was so much seating available, so I wasn't sure why the wait was so long. That said, the incredible customer service and breathtaking views quickly made us forget about the line. The menu offers small bites, appetizers, and great cocktails. I ordered the Maurice Salad, and it instantly took me back to the old Hudson's days. It had all the classic flavors with a nice modern twist. The French fries were delicious, and the cocktails were excellent. The real highlight, though, is the rooftop view of the city. It's absolutely beautiful and worth the visit alone. I can't wait to come back and bring more friends. Whether it's during the day or in the evening, if you enjoy a great city view, this place is definitely worth checking out!

Amazing view. Great bar service. Great selection of both spirit and spirit free options. Love the variety of bar bites and dinner items. Come for the view stay for the cocktails and food. I tried the NA brut rose. Excellent taste very authentic.

Super cool views from the rooftop dining/bar area! I stumbled upon Pine Hall during a work trip that ran late and Pine Hall was one of the only actual restaurants in the area that was still open and serving dinner. There's an interesting process for getting up to the restaurant from the lobby, but it makes it fun! I got a seat at the bar and had great service, I was in and out in under 40 minutes! I got the steak and duck-fat-roasted potato which was amazing. I didn't get a drink but they had a wide range of different cocktails and liquors. I personally chose not to go outside due to wildfire smoke but the views from inside were great as well. Would be the perfect date night spot.

Yay!!!!! We finally made it to Pine Hall! I've been trying to get in for a week! They don't take reservations at this time so getting in is a little tricky at the moment! Pine Hall is absolutely beautiful and the views of the city, spectacular! This was our final stop of the evening and it did not disappoint! We ordered a few craft cocktails to enjoy while the sun was setting on the horizon! They do offer food options and I hear everything is very good off the menu! I will most certainly be back to try out the food, too!

Summer in the city calls for rooftop bars with dazzling sweeping views of the city and delicious al fresco dining and cocktails, and Pine Hall is a newly opened lovely addition to Detroit that offers just that. They were offering a few reservations daily, only from the hours of 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm for tables of 1-4 people on Open Table. I was luckily able to swipe one of these reservations that disappeared almost as soon as they were posted. However, now Open Table states they only take reservations for 8 people or more so their business is almost entirely made up of walk-ins. The first week that they opened, they were significantly busy, with almost their entire lobby filled with guests waiting. They do not have a wait-list or wait times and they have guests form a line in the lobby and they take up guests to be seated, as tables become available. We visited on the Sunday over July 4th weekend, and their lobby was much less full than opening weekend, with shorter wait times, however we had a reservation and were seated almost immediately. The atmosphere here is outstanding with sightlines of the Detroit skyline, highlighting views of the Book Tower, David Scott Building, and the Ambassador Bridge. The menu has a nostalgic Mad Men'esque 1950's vibe with nods to the historic Hudson's building and cafe with menu items like deviled eggs, sausage rolls, Maurice salad, boozy Boston Cooler, bumpy cake, and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. All of the cocktails have breezy picturesque summer names, playing homage to the open-air atmosphere and the city with names like Heat Wave, Open Windows, Golden Hour, In the Clouds, and Detroit Vice. We started with drinks and I had the lemon-lime spritz, a spin on the traditional Aperol spritz with the addition of limoncello, and my boyfriend had the Cool Front, a refreshing margarita with pineapple, cucumber and dill. Both of our drinks were made to perfection, very well balanced, smooth, and refreshing. My boyfriend kept raving about how tasty the margarita was. The Detroit Vice also looked intriguing and might be what I try for my next visit. It's served as two separate cocktails, a pina colada and strawberry daiquiri, meant to be tasted alone and separately and then mixed if one so chooses like a Miami Vice. For food, we had the deviled eggs and the white fish dip. The deviled eggs are served with three halves and the server asked if we would like four since we were sharing, which was nice. The deviled eggs were very tasty served with crispy pancetta and chives. The white fish dish was okay but was kind of a small portion for the price so next time I would probably try something else like the crab fritters, or peel and eat shrimp. We saw a lot of people ordering the pretzel which looked great and was very large. The Pine Hall burger also was very popular and looked thick and juicy with dry aged beef. We finished our visit with freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and an espresso martini, which both were very delicious. The standouts of our visit were the dazzling views and the very delicious cocktails. Service was warm, friendly, and attentive. Our server was also knowledgeable, offering suggestions. The patio was mostly closed when we visited due to a storm just before we arrived. The benches were wet and covered with rain. We were offered a seat on the patio with a view of the Detroit River and Ambassador Bridge. However, we opted to sit indoors near the windows and we strolled out as we pleased to admire the views. It was also a stifling hot day so it was much more comfortable in the air conditioning. Overall, we had a great experience here and I would highly recommend checking out the newly opened Pine Hall and adding it to your Detroit rooftop bucket list this summer.

    $27 average burger.

First come first serve long line to wait in on Saturday around 7 pm. Probably waited close to an hour. Views are gorgeous. $27 burger which was an average burger, $39 bistro steak which was very good but a little over salted. The usual prices for drinks -$18 ish. Glad we went. I'd go again for the views, but valet was $38 for the 2 hours we were there. Just stab me. Are we in New York?

My new favorite rooftop in Detroit.. views are gorgeous and vibe is right. Went twice this weekend because it just felt so good. Had a tequila drink that had a Thai chili in it that was fantastic and then also had a bourbon drink called in the woods that was great also. The crab fritters were delicious and so was the burger and fries.

Came in for dinner and drinks on a Thursday evening. No reservations were needed; we valet-parked, checked in at the desk, and were walked to the elevator shortly after. Upon entry, we were instantly greeted and asked if we were here for just drinks or food as well. Today there is an air quality alert so we had to sit inside. Although we were inside we had a beautiful city view from the huge windows. At about 9:45 they dimmed the lights which was nice for the chill vibe. They have nice old school music playing that I like. Our server was super attentive and friendly, he gave us menu suggestions and explained certain drink details. I ordered two drinks: first, the open windows, which was citrus-based, 5/10, and I had an out of the woods, which is an old-fashioned kind of drink, 10/10. I prefer those! For food, I ordered the lump crab toast, which was very lemony and I did not like it 0/10. The fried chicken was amazing 10/10 very flavorful and crunchy accompanied by two dipping sauces spicy Dijon and barbecue sauce. The fries were amazing as well 10/10. I will definitely return and hope to sit outside as long as conditions permit.

The view! The view is spectacular. I'd go as far as to say it is probably currently the best rooftop in Detroit! Definitely worth the wait! Beautiful seating groupings-very trendy. Thoughtful/trendy decorating theme. Loved it! We had perfect seating to view the Friday night fireworks from Comerica Park. Very nice vibe with the best views in the city. The line was very long and they do not take reservations. The wait ended up being about an hour to be seated. You must stand in a line until that time. The food was slow being served. Do not order the pub cheese. Not good. The bumpy cake was very salty. How does a bumpy cake taste so salty? Also appears as though the cake may have been frozen and not totally thawed. The Maurice salad is not the Maurice salad of the Hudson days. The dressing is very different-no similarity in taste. But the rooftop has only been open a week and like any establishment needs to get the kinks worked out-they were apologetic and compensated several dishes due to errors-like serving our dessert to the table next to us. ‍ While I will likely be back -it will be for the spectacular views and a few cocktails! I'd recommend skipping the food for now.

Nice new Detroit rooftop bar at Hudson Tower. Lots of room, right side gets good view of Comerica and Ford Field.

It is not seat yourself at the outdoor tables, like we originally thought. There is a nice sized bar indoors and seating at the bar is first come first served. We ordered several of the small plate "snacks" and I can tell you that the hummus is not to be missed. It is served with (homemade?) tortilla chips that are absolutely addictive. They have lots of choices for wine, beer, and cocktails. Towards the back entrance of the property, there is a drink truck where you can also order "walkaway" food and drinks. Not entirely sure where you sit with the food/drinks you order, as most of the seating seemed reserved for full service. The rhubarb pie punch was so delicious I had to order it twice! Probably one of my favorite cocktails I've ever had. I also ordered the maurixio cattelan, which tasted like ginger ale. For a snack before dinner, we chose to get the burrata and it was so refreshing. The service was great and our bartender was super friendly! The logo with the little lamb is adorable. I bought one of their wine glasses with their logo on it too for just $10.

The theme was "Yes, Chef: An exploration of culinary icons through a cocktail lens." Each drink was inspired by or dedicated to a famous culinary icon, and you can read about each one in the index. We each ordered one drink from each section. From the Opening, I chose the Diaspora Club, which was so refreshing and delicious. Then from the Principals, I chose the Chingona, which was a little bit spicy and savory but still so refreshing. To Finish, I chose the Chocolatier Cosmo, which came with a tiny house-made salted dark chocolate. I loved all three cocktails I ordered, especially the chocolatier cosmo because it was perfectly sweet and went so well with the small piece of chocolate. For food, we started off with the crispy pork belly milk bread. For my entree, I ordered the miso butter gnocchi. It was kind of on the salty side but I still really liked it. The apple sofrito added a bit of sweetness to it. For dessert, we had to get the rhubarb coffee cake, which came with strawberry ice cream. Omg one of the best desserts I've ever had!! I never thought of combining cinnamon coffee cake with rhubarb or strawberry but it's perfect, and I might have to make something like that soon. Service was great and we were seated right away at 8pm on a Saturday despite not having a reservation. Food and drinks came out promptly and timed perfectly. Between the two of us we had the beet salad, burger and steak tartare. Burger was good, but not the best smash burger that I've had. Beet salad was fine, however the cream cheese was a bit overpowering against the orange oil. It was dying for some citrus. Steak tartare was a bit dry, meaning that a small dab of olive oil would have added to the richness and overall mouth feel. I did not really taste the egg although I did see a dab of yolk on the tartare. Needed a bit of salt also to enhance the taste Menu was small, but it did cover a cross section of French bistro dishes. All in all, I thought it was a bit overpriced.
