First time here since it has been changed from the Delmar. Major upgrade! The ambiance is beautiful and modern with cozy vibes. Perfect for a night out with friends or a cute date night. Let's get into the food: Appetizers: We had the Greek Salad, which we enjoyed the fresh veggies and delicious Greek dressing. The Fried Calamari with Chipotle Aioli. Then, the Trio Dip with Hummus, Spicy Feta, Tzatziki with Pita. All of dips were delicious! Main course: Seafood Pasta: flavorful, seasoned to perfection. You can literally see the flavor. I asked for no octopus but I think they forgot my scallops as well. All I had was shrimp, but it was still delightful. Branzino: buttery, succulent and melts in your mouth! Also, it was interesting to watch the deboning process. Braised Lamb: The lamb was extremely tender and over the mashed potatoes in red wine reduction made it incredibly rich and comforting. Overall, everything we had was 10/10. I would definitely recommend and return to try more on the menu.

This kabab trios wasn't bad either, the lamb came out great, the chicken was dry,and the steak was over cooked, should've been medium rare.

Let's just say not bad for downtown Detroit, the area was under construction but I was able to find an awesome Greek Resturant with a decor like no other. It's a great place for groups and small get togetherness. 1. The bartender was super friendly and very accommodating. She made a few suggestions based on what I told her for food and beverage, keep up the awesomeness. 2. The food wasn't too bad, I had orders the swordfish entree and the kabab trios. (See pictures for yourself) The swordfish was a little dry but not too had, the lamb kabab came out perfectly cooked and seasoned, the chicken was alright, wish the used dark meat instead of white meat, and the steak kabab were over cooked, a medium rare would have killed it.

Ahhh the old Delmar.... You'd never recognize it. You can see every bit of renovation because this spot is absolutely beautiful. Sat at the bar per norm and had my Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest of the year. The music pumping electronic music, the staff buzzing around completing drink orders, and Lions football on the horizon on a crisp early not quite fall day. It was beautiful. The staff was absolutely spectacular. The restaurant was actually ready for the day and was fully staffed, never had to wait for anything. Oktoberfest at my neck and call. Seafood pasta was ordered and seafood pasta was eaten and it was absolutey OMG Yummy!!!!!!! - did you see how many exclamation points? So damn good. Aesthetically pleasing and fantastically delicious. What more could you ask for. They do have a rooftop patio, didn't make my way up there but it looks lovely from street level. Great experience!

Service was amazing! Niko knows how to make you feel so welcome and income! Food and drinks just as amazing! We got a chicken gyro and lamb gyro and that did not disappoint!!

We were walking by and noticed that the old sports bar that used to be here has changed! What a totally different vibe! The inside was absolutely gorgeous! I wasn't crazy about my drink but that was my own fault. The servers were all white nice. We split some seafood pasta and I was still hungry so we ended up getting fries too. We really enjoyed it here and would definitely come back!

We visited Mati in Detroit for dinner tonight for the first time and it was surprisingly delicious! We Sat at the bar and the bartender, Kendall, made the best old fashioned (used the good Luxardo cherries not the cheap ones). It was delightful discussing bourbons and gin with her, as she was very knowledgeable. I ordered the chicken medallions, and they were nice and thin, very tender, and flavorful. It was almost too much for me to finish, but they were so good I didn't want to stop. My husband had the sword steak and said it was fantastic. The place is new, very clean, with a fun casual vibe. Highly recommended.

You know you always have to start with this at a Greek restaurant. Yum

One of the best restaurants I've tried in a long time. Everything we tried was AMAZING. My favorite now is the alfredo pasta dish. The decor inside is top notch too with a friendly and attentive staff. You can get a comfy table or grab a seat at bar and have dinner. They now take casino comps from Greektown Casino/Penn/Hollywood. Enjoy.

Generous portion of gyro. The salad was huge. Feta cheese tasted odd. Very salty and had an old/not fresh taste to it. My friend had the Greek combo plate which had gyro meat, a chicken kebab, grilled pita, and a side. We sat up at the bar and had great service. They had a cocktail menu with their seasonal specials. My friend had the apple crisp made with Crown Apple. At $14 it seemed a little steep. I stuck with Jack Daniels and Diet Coke and at $9 that still seemed a little high and enough not to merit a second drink. The Greek has a lot going for it. It has a good vibe with friendly staff. If they can work on the menu a little more and dial back the salt content on the food this place would be on my list of Greektown choices. I don't know if I will give this place a third try with so many other options all within walking distance.

Server was attentive for most of the meal. I also liked my meal this time. I got the lemon chicken soup and a Greek salad. Very large portions and very good. I went with 4 others who also got a variety of dishes. They all enjoyed as well. Lots of food. They also had some ciders. This time I'd rate the food and service much better. The road is completely torn up in front of the whole street. I guess they are making a giant patio. That will be cool. But now it's probably killing everyone's business now. The sidewalks are still available but it's a skinny walkway. It doesn't appear at the moment that they are close to completing. Maybe this time next year it'll be done.

I want to love this place, but I can only like it. The food is too hit and miss for me to "not be…read moreable to wait" until my next visit. I'll eat here, but not as often as i would if they polished up their menu/execution. The chicken dishes, all of them, are terrible. They advertise "tender chicken cut into slices," but if you look at any of the pics on here, it's all the same - tiny, little chicken bits, dry and overcooked. The more obscure dishes are the way to go. They fail hard on the basics, but hit home runs on their more unheard of menu items. If you've never heard of something, but it sounds good - that's what you should order here. Chicken lemon rice: 3/10 Not enough chicken, lemon tastes artificial and weird, soup is bland. I've had better CLR at most any coney island. Chicken Gyro: 3/10 Chicken was dry, the orzo was dry and overcooked, tziki sauce was thick and lacked flavor. Plenty of chicken... I would have rather had less chicken, cooked better. I haven't seen their chicken kabob, but it seems like this place uses the thick part of their breast for the kabobs, and uses the scraps bits for all of their other dishes. Grape Leaves: 7/10 Good flavor, good sauce... wish the CLR soup tasted as good as the sauce from the grape leaves. Stifado: 9/10 Excellent dish. Good amount of beef, great flavor, nice stew. This is the dish that I would come back for. Bread basket: Bread: 4/10 - they serve the bread ice cold. Olive oil: 9/10 - excellent flavor, super light, nice lemon zest Service: 8.5/10 - good job. They had one guy for all 8 or so tables, but did he did a good job covering them. The busser/assistant did a good job at keeping our waters and bread full, but he tries to carry too much, and it causes a big distraction (glasses clunking, nearly falling over, re-stacking)... sometimes two trips is better than one... He also says "of course" (pet peeve) when someone says "thank you." Perhaps I'm weird, but I find that terribly dismissive, and off-putting.

Everything we ate from the salad and its dressing to the mussels and the gyro were both fresh and delicious. The mussels didn't seem to be debearded but they were fresh and delicious. The gyro doesn't naturally come with feta but they brought a large side of it! And there was one server and the host who managed to provide quality service even with 6 tables coming in at the same time.

I ordered the chicken platter and it came with a huge serving of perfectly seasoned rice, tender and juicy chicken, onions, warm bread, and a fresh salad -- all for around $15, which feels like a steal these days. The standout for me was the salad dressing -- hands down the best I've ever had. I could honestly drink it. Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and made with care. Portions are generous enough that you'll likely have leftovers, and it's the kind of meal that keeps you full and happy for hours. Casual, quick, and consistently delicious -- I'd absolutely come back and recommend this spot to anyone looking for solid Mediterranean food in Detroit.
