First time trying Cibo! The ambiance is warm, open and inviting. We had a reservation and was sat right away. We came around 5pm so it was still during their new happy hour (4-6, M-F) we ordered some cocktails which were tasty. Cocktails were all $12 during happy hour. We also got two apps from the HH menu, and one app from the regular menu. The pizza tasted like it came from a pizza oven which was great, the palomino dip was rich with flavor, and the shrimp had a great flavor to them. For entrees we got the salmon, meatball, and crab orchettie, probably spelled wrong lol all had good flavor. The polenta with the meat ball was a bit flavorless but over all good. When our bill came we noticed there was 15% gratuity already added and a 5% "service fee" also noticed the HH prices weren't applied. Our waitress did fix it quickly, which was appreciated. Overall a good dinner and will be back to try the brunch.
A friend came to visit my wife and I and stayed at the hotel connected to this restaurant. We had a fun day in Detroit and apparently due to some mishap earlier in the day, the hotel gave him some food credit for this restaurant. Let me say, this was such a fun experience, great company, great food and great service. Cibo Detroit has such an amazing vibe, well lit, bringing in a peaceful but fun energy and great art decor, making it feel very upscale. The food matched the ambience, everything was delicious. The brussel sprouts had the perfect amount of char, the steak was very tender. This is definitely a place we'd go back to at some point!
Right before I left Detroit, I popped in for a quick visit since I saw Cibo on Opulist! It is an absolutely gorgeous restaurant and you immediately get an upscale vibe from the moment you walk in. Service was excellent and personal. I mostly just got apps since I had eaten a large lunch prior to this but the shrimp and the bbq carrots blew me away! Def will be back soon :)
My wife & I visited Cibo for Valentine's Day, and again more recently for a friend's birthday. The interior design is great, especially like the tall ceilings and the bar. The service was very good the first time, and great the second time we dropped in. The food was very good, I really liked the Boar Stroganoff, and the BBQ ribs and pizza we passed around was also great. Some of the meals were just ok, like the cornbread. But the potato rosti is delicious, we're ordering that every time. A good experience overall.
This place is very beautiful. I would definitely recommend this place for a romantic dinner date or a fancy night out! Food was great quality, not too expensive. Their service was also great. I would come back to this place again.
Service was excellent, the place had a classy look and the food was great! My favorite was the truffled palomino, stroganoff and potato rosti. We did more of a family style to try it all admit was the best way to do it!

The atmosphere was great, it's a nice little restaurant attached to the Cambria hotel and we got 2 drinks at the bar before being sat - amazing!! However, my experience at the table was mid at best. Our server was honestly amazing, but I was really not impressed with the food, especially for the price. We spent $7 at target on a frozen pizza that was honestly probably better than the pizza here. And the bread pudding dessert came with dry oats on top like what??? Anyways, probably won't go back. Maybe try for yourself.
We absolutely LOVED Cibo!!! This was one of the best meals we have had in Detroit. Beautiful spot! The food was amazing. We enjoyed the Okonomiyaki Cornbread, Worcina Alla Pane Pizza, BBQ Carrots and Buttermilk Kan Kan Pork Chop. All four dishes were outstanding. Sometimes I worry when there is a lot of unique ingredients in a dish, but everything we had was delicious. The flavors all worked nicely together. We had Nina and Lauren as our servers and both were lovely. We also met the Chef, Rich. Super nice, humble guy with tremendous skill. He definitely knows what he is doing in the kitchen. Superb!!!
We returned this weekend for an early dinner before a concert and it was SO good. Delicious drinks and food. I had the same shrimp dish I had last time - it's too good to pass up. We also tried the meatballs this time, and they're excellent. This is such a beautiful restaurant and service was great.
This restaurant is absolutely beautiful on the inside. I love the light fixtures throughout and the floor plan. We tried so many different things. The ribs were good and the brussel sprouts. Everyone enjoyed their food. The music was really good. The bar has a huge liquor selection also.
After a long day of work, some colleagues and I were looking for a place for dinner and stumbled upon this place. The restaurant was packed and you can tell the server was overwhelmed. We decided to stay and give it a try. We ordered a variety of appetizers and a bottle of wine. Each of us ordered an entrée and shared a dessert. Overall, everything was tasty. I do feel like the salmon was overcooked and I would've been OK without the dessert. It was also a little too dark in the restaurant for my liking, but understand the vibe they are trying to set.

Came here for happy hr. What a great place. Really nice ambiance, great drinks and delicious food. Plus we ended up getting 4 plates and 4 drinks for $72. Must check out.

If only the food matched up to the atmosphere and the service. It is a beautiful restaurant and we arrived with high expectations. The food was, overall, very disappointing. It honestly reminded us of wedding banquet food. The menu online had looked appealing , but the actual menu in person had very few things that looked interesting. The basics - a steak entree, a chicken entree, a salmon entree, a pasta entree, etc. Two simple dessert choices. We were hoping for something more...elevated. I will say the meatball appetizer was incredible - definitely the only memorable thing we had. The hummus was served with burnt potato chips and was truly inedible. Our server was fantastic though and did her best to give us a good experience. read more
While the interior and service were both great, we were extremely underwhelmed by our food at Cibo, which is bringing this to an average of 3 stars. Every dish we received was presented well, but had conflicting flavor profiles to the point where they were simply not appealing. For example, the burrata appetizer tasted aggressively sweet, and my mom and I both drew the comparison of it reminding us of ahi tuna- veryyyyy far from the burrata you would expect. My bass was promising, but tasted overwhelmingly like water- that was quite literally the only taste I could put my finger on. Neither of us finished our meals or boxed them because we knew we would not be reheating them at home. Our desserts were tasty, and I did like the hummus with the GF bread alternative. Overall, the service and ambiance get a 4.5/5, but the food itself was maybe a 2. Super bummed by this! read more

This restaurant was an amazing last minute spot for our date night! Highly recommend getting a reservation, the whole atmosphere was so lovely and it's so cute in there. All of the dishes were SO yummy. You have to get the carrots, they were out of this world. Our waiter was witty, fun and so professional it made our experience even better! We left with happy stomachs and a smile on our faces. Will be coming back! read more

Such a hidden gem! This restaurant is in a strange area, the restaurant just doesn't seem to fit the neighborhood. But I'm so glad I came here because it's so unique, the decor and ambience are on point. Classic Detroit art deco adds a touch of elegance to the dining experience. Main course and appetizer were absolutely divine, I even personally spoke with the chef and complemented my dish. Pancetta bolognese is truly out of this world! So gooey & the flavors were perfectly balanced. My guest and I ordered one dessert to share, we both hated it, and explained this to the server, who stated "oh, sorry about that, we'll give you a free dessert next time" I don't want a free dessert Next time. I would prefer to not pay for the dessert this time; I just wanted it off my bill. I took one bite and completely wasted my money. It was the kunafa cheesecake- not only did I not like the taste, the bottom was completely burned. The service we received was professional and pleasant, however this was the slowest dinner I have ever attended in my life. I was beyond annoyed at how slow the service was, between the server barely checking in on us & how long it took for our food. Mind you, we were one of 5 tables in the restaurant during my visit...restaurant was mostly empty. read more
One of the most beautiful atmosphere upon entering. Upon arrival we were greeting by two lovely ladies, seated right away with menus. Monday through Friday they offer happy hour timing are 4pm till 6 pm. Food was really good we absolutely loved the lamb kofta. It was so flavorful. Although we only had appetizers they were very good. The atmosphere, music and service were excellent. Sitting at the bar was the correct choice. The bartenders Jordan, Dre and PJ were personable and engaging while mixing drinks and getting them out quickly. Our food came out quickly also. I laughed that we received dinner and a show. I had wine however I really wished I'd ordered a cocktail. All the various cocktails that were served were amazing. This unplanned visit to come in out of the cold was great. Beautiful, bright modern exterior. Bar area and a few tables 2-6 top tables seem to be the range. Stopped in mid afternoon for a late lunch around 2:00 PM as the crew was prepping dinner service. All the items in the menu looked great. I settled on the whipped feta dip and the Mediterranean wedge salad. Both were fantastic! It does have an intersection of a variety of patrons. A good start for this new modern mediterranean in the beautiful, new Cambria hotel downtown. We had reservations, which was a good thing as I overheard that they were completely booked on the Saturday evening (the bar has walk in space). The space is beautiful, light and modern, with high ceilings and tall windows. It managed to do this without a stuffy or trying to hard feel. They also had a room for large groups. The cocktails I had were both were fine-good, but had very similar favor profiles. We shared a few items, all came out at a good pace, and each was a good portion size. We started with the pomegranate ribs. These were fantastic, I would give these a five stars by themselves, and I'd come back just to have them again. The dry rub was so good, the sauce on the side wasn't needed. The mediterranean salad was a miss for us, others have mentioned the same thing. It was not bad at all, but just a bit flat. I think it needed more flavor in certain spots or a different dressing. We had the moussaka for a main, it is probably one of the best vegan dishes I've had. I did not realize it was meatless, the previous versions I've had have had meat in them. But it was not missed here, the mushrooms added the right texture and balance with the other vegetable and sauce. The presentation was also lovely. The service was very good, our server was friendly and made good suggestions. We did have a minor issue at the end we were able to address ourselves. We asked to split the bill, but when our cards came back, they were charged unevenly (by around $35). As new as they are, there are a few things to work out, but our overall experience was great and I would go back read more
Saw some videos online and decided to come here for my wife's birthday today. I don't know where to start, everything was excellent, the staff, the service. The food, the ambiance and decor it was all top notch. Special shoutout to our server Ken S. whose recommendations were 4/4 and really made us feel special all night. There are a ton of creekstone / halal options for us to choose from I got the Delmonico steak medium rare (cooked to perfection) and my wife got this limone di mare, we loved the bread and butter that was served, we also got burrata (just delicious) and truffle parm fries as sides. The mocktails were phenomenal nice sweet not bitter, and the apple tart with apple filling and a vanilla coconut ice cream for dessert with an oat milk cappuccino. They had to call a fork lift to get me out of my chair after that meal! read more

Ken our server was wonderful! He was so knowledgeable and really just elevated our experience at Cibo, truly could not recommend him more! The food was great, and the presentation matched. On a recent Sunday my friend M and I decided to venture to Cibo for a leisurely brunch. We had a noon reservation. By the time we left around 2:30 pm, all the tables were full. The restaurant space sets the tone with high ceilings and unique chandeliers. There is a large bar with lots of seating. The large mirror behind the shelves of spirits makes the space seem even bigger than it actually is. There are several high top tables as well as regular dining room seating. There is also a separate area for private dining which is enclosed in glass so that you are still part of the dining room. Since it was brunch, we started with strawberry mimosas. There are so many things on the menu that it's hard to just pick one dish so we shared a few and got our own individual main dishes. You actually have the option to order from the brunch or lunch menu. Brunch is only served until 2pm. So many choices! We started with the Za'atar Biscuit & Gravy (creamy-merguez gravy). The gravy has lamb in it so be forewarned vegetarians. It was sooo good! On my next visit, I will probably order 2 biscuits and gravy as my main dish and have a side of scrambled eggs. M ordered the avocado crostini and scrambled eggs. I had the braised bacon benedict. For dessert, we split the bread pudding French toast. Everything was delicious! I will definitely be back for another brunch as well as dinner. There is a parking garage close by and valet parking next door at the Cambria Hotel. read more
This is a beautiful new restaurant in Detroit located in the Cambria Hotel. We went here for Valentine's weekend dinner this year and I was really impressed. Beautiful decor and ambience, love the palm trees. The food and service were great too. We ordered the whipped feta that came with focaccia bread and lamb kofta, both were delicious. For entrees we got the Margherita pizza and some side dishes like Brussel sprouts and Mediterranean rice. I like the mocktail options they have on the menu too! The dj was playing some amazing chill music! We definitely need more restaurants like Cibo in Detroit. Can't wait to go check out their open air rooftop bar in the summer. read more
