So I thought this was a sushi place because I saw a picture online of a sushi plate and I am here to tell you it is NOT a sushi place, when you first walk in they have a photo op that is really beautiful. We had reservations and when we walked in it was quite empty but it is a very inviting environment, the music was soft and smooth and the people were nice. The menu is small but it does have some interesting menu items. It was very quiet inside, kind of awkwardly quiet and we sat next to people but the tables are quite close together, we could literally hear everything they were saying and they could hear us and we were talking in whispers. For a cocktail, I ordered the Enamorah Old Fashioned, if you are a bourbon lover then you will love this, it is a Woodford Reserve with the cherry cask taste, it was amazing! Definitely worth it. Then I ordered the Short Rib Bao Buns and Teriyaki Bourbon Chicken (got to keep the bourbon flowing). Now before I mention the food I have to say first that it isn't too often, maybe literally once every couple years that food shocks me because I have eaten every food type you can think of so there isn't too much that can intrigue me to want to try it, ok so now let's carry on with the review. So the Short Rib Bao Buns were nothing short of perfection. The pineapples gave it a phenomenal tropical taste and the bun itself was soft, chewy and buttery, the rib meat was tender, flavorful and easy to chew. I can't describe the taste you just have to try it yourself. Now let's get to this Teriyaki Bourbon Chicken. Mannnnnn, let me tell ya, there isn't foods that give me goosebumps much but this did it. It came with Collard Greens, the chicken and Mashed Potatoes and then had a an extra dribble of teriyaki sauce to mix with it. The Chicken & the Collard Greens went well together, the mashed potatoes & the Chicken went well together, the mashed potatoes & the collard greens went well together, I mean everything was top tier as you could want it. Now they do have gratuity already added but it is definitely worth the meal. This is a place you have to come and try and then wonder what you're gonna have next time when you come because it is THAT good. If I could give this 7 stars I would. read more

Great experience at Enomah! Called to see if they could accommodate an early dinner for 2 on a Friday night. Great vibes, music at a background level so you can have conversation without yelling, very moody and sexy atmosphere. The hostess was super pleasant and told us to come on. Our waiter was Craig? He was funny and made us feel welcomed. We both ate all our food. My sister is still raving about the lamp chops. I deducted a star because I despise places who add a gratuity automatically for small parties and the mocktails were just okay especially since they are on the pricier side ($14-$16). It was just 2 of us. Even though our waiter definitely gave 20% service I like to decide what I want to tip personally. I would recommend if you want to splurge for a night out. read more

Overall the restaurant was just okay. The service was good. The food okay. The ambiance/decor was nice. The food....A bit pricey for the quality. Example the dragon roll was not on par with the many others I have had and the price point was $25. The shrimp topping, creamy sauce and warm temp I expected were not there. The lamb chops were okay; I asked for medium they came well done. No pink whatsoever. We also ordered the hurricane shrimp; they were again okay nothing special and honestly were missing a little salt or seasoning. The drinks were delicious; a bit pricey but very good. DJ was jammin at the perfect volume. Also for two people a 20% gratuity was automatically added. Not happy about that at all. From the advertising and IG posts I saw I expected more overall. This was one of those fabulous nights that puts you in a great mood when you think back on it. enomah has been on our list and we were super excited! We made reservations as it is highly recommended, but we ended up being the only people in there. That was nice because it e for the opportunity to really look around. I just loved the unique design choices they made. They definitely didn't skimp on anything. They had some delicious and unique cocktails to choose from. I love q food cocktail. We decided on sushi and bao. I am not that well versed on sushi and thought the the piece was for one piece of sushi nor understanding that a roll was the entire thing. Apparently this was hilarious and when I went to the bathroom, the bartender plotted to prank me. When the food came, she had a beautifully plated piece of sushi. My eyes bugged because I had just asked about it and everyone got a great laugh. Haha. Definitely not something I'll ever forget. I don't typically like the texture of bao buns but I did take a bite of them and they were crisped and I really liked them! Only critiques: brunch-eggs & grits had an onion flavor which was off putting. Dinner- short rib bao puns (not pictured) aren't properly cooked. They flash fry them or something (not mentioned in the description) which takes away from the texture of the bun. The inside of it is good tho. The ribs were not great. What an amazing experience! The food is absolutely phenomenal. So many creative flavors and everything was so good. We had the short rib bao buns, wings, fried rice, broccoli and little tokyo roll and all of it was delicious. Just the right amount of spice and so yummy. We also enjoyed a few of the amazing cocktails which were awesome. The service was outstanding and we also had a chance to speak with the owner and chef who were both so lovely and welcoming. The drinks are small and weak, but very expensive. The food was average. The baby back ribs were delicious, but the chicken drunken noodles hardly had any chicken in it and it was served lukewarm. If you have a big party, this is not the place for you unless you want to pay the bill for a large party. They don't itemize bills. I won't be coming back. Restaurant was only about 30% full, Reservation at 1:30, ordered food at 1:40...at 2:30, someone came out to us to say that there was an issue with the ticket system and its been fixed, and food should be out shortly (50 mins after order placed). Food came out 30 mins after that, so we waited 1 hr, 20 mins for food which was the longest I've ever waited at any restauraunt. They also had an issue with the exhaust system in the kitchen, so it was a bit smokey. We asked if thier could be any adjustments made to our 3-person, $190 bill due to the extreme wait, and were told no. OK, no worries, second time there and last time, there are simply too many great restaurants in downtown Detroit to not feel appreciated. read more

I wasted several minutes trying call this place to make reservations with no answer. That should have been my first sign of what is to come. Arrived a few minutes early on Saturday evening 7:15. Was greeted promptly and sat quickly in a basement smelled of weed which normally does not bother me but not In the same room I am eating. After 10 minutes a busboy came by and provided water, we were short a cups for a party of 4 and asked for a fourth cup of water. The fourth cup was never provided. Waited another 10 minutes for waitress who took our drink order and never returned. After 40 minutes of waiting the only items we received in that time was 3 glasses of water for a table of four This place will close soon, let that happen so it can be replaced by a restaurant that is worthy. read more

Stopped here during the Detroit Auto Show. Was pleasantly surprised with how calm & cool it was. Super lowkey and almost speakeasy-like vibes, felt exclusive. The bartender was a hoot, Chaz, made the best cucumber gimlet. He told us that his cook was the real deal. If I could give ZERO stars I would. We entered the restaurant at 2pm. No hostess greeted us so we walked downstairs and waited to be seated. We were told to choose a seat and chose one closer to the DJ. We sat there without a menu for about 20 minutes. After we got our menu and finally ordered we had already been there 35 minutes. We ordered and waited an HOUR for our food. As we waited we ran out of water so I went behind the bar and grabbed a pre filled pitcher. When we finally did receive our food we were missing our side dishes. I got up and spoke to the owner who either didn't care or had tumble weeds in between her ears. She came up with 1 side of eggs about 20 minutes later, after we'd finished eating. I AM CURRENTLY SITTING HERE waiting on the bill we've asked for twice. I will LITERALLY never be back. And I'm willing to be they won't be here long. The service is awful. The food is decent.and unfortunately the DJ was the only thing worth coming for. We'll catch him somewhere else. read more

Paid 300 dollars for a "romantic event" we were sat 15 minutes after our reservation time, didn't even get water or service until 30 minutes after being sat. The band was good but the speakers were way too loud so me and my partner couldn't have a conversation and the speakers were also being blown out, super loud and hurt our ears. Other people at our table had to ask about their food as well as ours. Paying that much for an experience should be great service and nice atmosphere this really ruined our Valentine's Day and it was a waste of money. Only good thing was the food, if we didn't prepay we probably would not have tipped, that's how bad the service was. If you're going to hold an event like that you have to have good organization and that was not the case here at all and it was really disappointing. If I could get a refund we wouldn't even have stayed, but sadly it was non refundable of course.
