I'm not exactly sure how we ended up here. We were looking for another place when we spotted a sign advertising happy hour near an alleyway entrance and decided to check it out. We were the first customers of the afternoon and grabbed seats at the bar. The space has a retro vibe, almost like an bowling alley bar. The happy hour deals were hard to pass up: $3 off appetizers and cocktails, plus $6 beers. We ordered the meatballs, which were pretty good, and washed them down with multiple $6 tall cans of Modelo. What started as an accidental stop turned into a good place to grab a drink and a snack. If you're in the area, the happy hour specials make it worth checking out. read more

Attached to Mootz Pizzeria & Bar. A lot of people on Yelp recommended this place so, I had to check it out. We went for happy hour before the concert. It's very small, intimate setting. Limited seating, first come first serve. It feels more like a side thought for sure. We felt like an afterthought. Our table was not cleaned, our servers were not attentive did not bring us water, nor cleaned off the table. It felt so informal and overly casual. Like I'm going to my friends bar that they owned and I get whatever service because it's my friend. But this was my first time and I was not impressed with the service at all. The food and drinks were good. Also, they did not adjust our bill for the happy hour special. That was the whole point of us going there because of the happy hour menu. Came in for drinks for the first time after eating dinner at Mootz. We we were able to sit down immediately. There is bar seating and a few table options. They have soft r&b playing and nice vibes. The place has a 70's design. The bartender came Over immediately and took our order, she was friendly as well. We ordered an old-fashioned and a lavender lemon drop. Both 10/10. Went to Mootz after a Wings game. The wait was at least 90 minutes. So, we snuck next door to Side Hustle Lounge and got a table right away. I can't really say for certain if this place is truly associated with Mootz, but they share a bathroom and multiple doors. Seems like they might all be working together. I ordered an Old Fashioned and it was really good. We also ordered cheese bread as an app and then my wife and I each ordered our own 10 inch pizza. I had the Hot Italian and she had the Sweet Attack. We are in on the trend of hot honey on our pizza. They were delicious and we had plenty to bring home for left over pizza tomorrow. Very minor detail, and it's mostly personal preference, but I don't like paying my bill while the waiter stands beside me watching me select my tip. read more

Fantastic service and cocktails made by Steve! I had the Smoked S'more Old Fashioned and Steve smoked it right at my table. Cool to see the process. Probably the best Old Fashioned I've ever had. I also had the Part Time Lover cocktail and that was refreshing and delicious. I can't wait to try this whole menu. Really cool space. Amazing decor for the holidays. Themed for the movie "Elf". This is literally a "side hustle" of Mootz, the restaurant next door. It's a smaller venue with additional patio seating and an alternative menu. It has a cool vibe and the staff was welcoming, friendly and super attentive - it was kind of like eating at a friend of a friend's place :) We stared with the Truffled Bumblebee appetizer which was delicious! Whipped goat cheese, honey and figs with cranberry walnut bread - absolutely delicious! We ordered 2 pizzas (they are served individual size only, but are not small) - the Bee Sting and the Fungi. Both were spectacular with great flavor. Even after demolishing the appetizer we only had one slice of pizza left over because we couldn't stop eating! The craft drinks were and well-made and creative. We had the triple berry martini and the Vernor's mule and enjoyed both. The bartender came over to chat for a bit - super nice guy and we enjoyed his banter. It really capped off an enjoyable visit! A time was had at Side Hustle Lounge! The bartender was amazing, her candor and conversation is legit unmatched. The welcoming energy of the other customers also made this a great visit! We happened upon happy hour when visiting and opted to take advantage by ordering: the honey bubble, steak tips, shrimp risotto, and garlic knots. The drink was so light and crisp, perfect for quenching a summer thirst! Each food item was perfect for sharing, full of flavor and just the right portion. The bar was quite extensive and seating plentiful to include bar and patio seating. Not sure about parking as we arrived by rideshare. We stumbled upon this pop up Christmas bar last night. We walked in to Christmas music blaring and decorations covering the walls and ceilings. We enjoyed a couple beers and were on our way to the casino. Great spot for a drink with a fun atmosphere during the holiday hustle and bustle. read more

I love the decor of this place! Side Hustle is a special find while walking winning a blinding blizzard Brandon was so kind and welcoming me and so was Billie who slinked over from the other side. They serve the same items as they do in the restaurant without any of the sit-down-and-order-kind-of-fuss. The meatballs need to go into your mouth as they are well made and plentiful. I also trust Brandon with whatever wine he recommends. Brandon makes this place special and is so fun to talk to - this charisma makes me stop and go into Side Hustle when I'm walking in Detroit! Decided to stop by for a quick drink New Year's Eve and ended up staying for several hours. Been walking by for months but hadn't stopped in. The bartenders and staff were extremely friendly and talkative which was great. You can order pizza from next door so we got the garlic knots which are amazing and several well executed drinks. Held a private event in the lounge for ~100 people in September 2024. Great layout with indoor/outdoor space. Steve and Brandon were behind the bar and kept the great food and drinks flowing. Cool place, good location to drink, meet with to friends or a low key date. Service was good, I didn't try the food but maybe next time. I had the lavender lemon drop and it was delicious. 3 drinks @ 41 dollars. Prepare to find a park somewhere.
