I watched the cook snake the floor drains, the snake was spinning on the floor rapidly a couple feet from the food,yuck, the bathrooms stalls were so bad I couldn't use them and the service had such a bad attitude when I asked for a drink refill that there was no way I was going to drink anything the they brought. Not just a Chinese buffet, they serve a great meatloaf, gourmet ice cream in addition to soft serve, and hot chocolate that is as good as that which is served on cruise ships. I am particularly fond of the jalapeño chicken and I always start my dining experience with a visit to the Mongolian grill, and load up on cream cheese wontons and pot stickers while waiting for the Mongolian grill to sear meat to perfection. Sushi is really great. Some people tell me that it's a fried california roll, but the sign at the top said that it was a fried Tokyo roll... either way. I love their Butterfly Shrimp and deep fried battered chicken. They finally got the Sweet and Sour sauce correct (I did not like the sauce they had last year). I was happy with the food selections and have no complaints. The waitress wasn't as attentive after we received our drinks but if I had wanted a refill I would have gotten her attention. Large dessert selection including hard ice cream. We arrived at 1:30 and there wasn't a line to pay. The place is large and is split into many sections so it doesn't seem crowded. If you need to eat gluten free, beware. Nothing is labeled and asking various servers then the manager yielded no helpful information. I was told they didn't know and couldn't find out if any of the meat was gluten free because they did not have that info from the providers. Two issues: 1) Adding a 10% surcharge for groups of 10 or more is ONLY noted on a small sign around the cashier. It is not part of the large wall display of prices. This surcharge makes sense only if the group is having drinks other than water; clearly there is extra work involved in keeping who's drinking what straight for a large group. If the group is all having just water, there is NO EXTRA effort involved. 2) Most of the food choices are NOT LABELED. None of the salad bar selections have labels, including the two white dressings sitting side-by-side. Fortunately, I selected the desired ranch and not the (probable) blue cheese one. Enjoying a vacation in salt lake City and saw the descent yelp reviews. Figured it couldn't be worse than any other Asian buffet I'd been to in my life. I should have known when there were no Asian people in sight that this wasn't the place for me. It was honestly a bit weird. Part Mongolian grill, part American buffet, part Asian buffet part sushi. I've been to a lot of buffets. This is one of the two best- by far. My only complaint- I'm from out of town & there's no "Paradise" in the S/F Bay Area, where I'm returning to. Wow, what a selection- & everything was quite tasty! The ribs were tender & the clam chowder was the best I've ever had. The organization was a bit odd- with Chinese & American intermingling, but I don't care. I didn't try the sushi, not really into it, but my companion said it was excellent. Terrible! Literally the worst buffet I've ever been to! When I got inside the cashier couldn't be heard for the price. There are no prices shown so you guess how much before. Once I seated myself it took the waitress 10 minutes and walking past me 3 times before I got my drink. After this point it seemed like she didn't care to be working here. The staff here are more concerned with visiting amongst themselves than with the customers. Paradise Buffet is only their name if yours is TJ. The food is bland and I felt the only safe food was deep fried. I wouldn't touch their sushi (because I'm not sure how long it's been out). And everything else had an "eh" feel to it. The inside has a generic feel to it. It's spacious, but feels cramped! The sweet and sour sauce is just sauce as there is no sweet not sour to it. And the desert bar everyone looks great until you taste it. No flavor: the "cheese cake" tastes like vanilla pudding; the "carrot cake" tasted like spiced cake and the frosting was tasteless; the "chocolate chip cookies" looked like heaven but I could only taste the chips. The bathrooms were very clean and sadly this was the best part of my experience here! read more

This buffet location has changed owners many times and it has been quite unsuccessful many times, but after this new owner came in and re-vamped the place, it has been popping! Like a usual buffet, you pay first before you eat. This Chinese buffet is really like any other buffet, but I think what makes this place stand out are the more unique options they have. For instance, they have a vast variety of cake, like other buffets, but they also have cotton candy and I believe around 8 different ice cream flavors available as a dessert as well! Other than the usual weird combination of food buffets have available, like Mexican, Chinese, American, etc, they have sushi. There are sushi chefs that make it fresh in front of you and try to keep up with the demand of different types of sushi. My favorite are the salmon nigiri. One of the main things I eat at Paradise Buffet is the salmon nigiri. I eat like 2 plates full of it before I go and eat something else. Overall, it is still just a buffet and you don't come to a buffet looking for quality food, but for variety and ease. Honestly, you don't get more variety in a Chinese buffet than this in Utah for now. That is why I believe this buffet is a 5 star. I will suggest, if they were to add crab legs to their options, I would love this place even more. read more

Paradise Buffet has been around for as long as I can remember. I've only been here a few times over the years, but I've always had a good experience. They recently updated and refreshed the interior, specifically the food service stations. It makes everything look more appetizing and exciting to try. I came here with a 13yr old, and two 11yr olds who are not big eaters but had never been to a buffet. I think the Mongolian BBQ Station is my favorite. I love being able to build my own noodle dish. There's a variety of noodles, veggies, meats, sauces & seasonings to choose from. Then you watch your bowl of choices get cooked on a flat griddle style grill. It's great to have a little cash handy to tip the people working at the Mongolian BBQ Station. I also think the food at this station has the most flavor, maybe because you can control the level of flavor to your liking. They also have a HUGE variety of Chinese food, and for the little ones (or for those who aren't a fan of Asian food), all sorts of American dishes are available too. I love Asian food, so naturally I loaded up with a variety of dishes. Some were more flavorful than others, but also several dishes kind of blurred together because they didn't have a distinct flavor. But it's still fun to come and try a lot of different things. The service was great, the food was good, but a neutral good. Nothing great, but nothing bad. I will say though, the dessert station was a huge hit with the kids. The concept of all-you-can-eat dessert blew their minds! Everyone got Cotton Candy, Ice Cream, Soft Serve, and/or Chocolate Fondue Fruit, Marshmallows, & Cookies. The sushi here is much better then those 50% off places. Turn over is high so i have always found the food fresh. The clam chowder is really good too, i cant believe it! A buffet that has flavorful Chinese and American food and fresh sushi, oh and a Mongolian bbq. Paradise is right! I wish they had crab legs, omg this place would rock it! Any way its very clean and servers are nice. As another yelper mentioned, they have gotten better with time and losing the servers with the bad attitude although there still some that dont smile. First time there. Food was tasty and they had the best egg foo yung and sauce to go on it. Everything I was looking for was fresh and hot. The American food they have looked like it had been there a while though. But then if I want American, then I'll go to a restaurant that is American. They did have a sign up to wear you mask and use the gloves they had there for you. The bad thing was that the people weren't using them. This isn't saying anything against the restaurant, but to the people who are eating there. Hardly any one was wearing their masks when getting up, and they weren't using the gloves provided. Very nice fusion buffet and a very generous price. It has American, asian, asian fusion, Mexican, Italian dishes. The dishes have very good quality ingredients, from fresh seafood such as salmon, shrimp, and whitefish to bbq ribs. They have something for everyone. Deep fried something for those who love that, cotton candy, various soups, scooped ice cream for the kids or kids at heart, sushi, and other various items on a rotating menu. They even have green plant based stuff called... uh, salads? If you don't like what they have on hand, you can assemble your own using their Mongolian grill. They cook it still, but you're the one who assembles the ingredients, so if you don't like it, the chef is in the mirror. No only do they have quite a variety of food, they have a large variety of drinks from sodas to fruit juices. Plenty of seating, and the plates are clean. If I'm remembering correctly, it was $14 for dinner. Water is free, soda/other costs extra. The selection was decent. What made it worth it was the sushi bar and the customizable Mongolian stir fry bar. Not a lot of buffets offering nigiri with salmon and shrimp, although rice could be more fresh. Good variety of sushi from vegetarian options to your typical Vegas and California rolls. There's a salad bar, the usual Chinese American offerings like sweet and sour chicken and ham fried rice, also the usual American comfort food, ie, mashed potatoes, pasta, etc. Some seafood, like baked crabs and stir fried clams. The dessert bar offers ice cream and soft serve, cotton candy, cakes and cookies. There's plenty of seating, but you will hit a line if you come during prime hours. We arrived around 5:30 and stood in line for maybe 10 minutes. Lots of staff trying to make sure the buffet bars are tidy, however the plates and silverware are not completely clean, which seems expected for buffets. You'll have to go through a couple plates before finding a good one without a speck of food lingering still. There was no time limit, as far as I know but I can't imagine staying longer than an hour. I took some of my kids for their first buffet. For this purpose, Paradise Buffet didn't disappoint. They place is huge and offers enough to please even the pickiest eater. After paying up front, you are on your own to choose a seat and explore the offerings. They have the classic hot dishes like western and Chinese dishes, a salad bar filled with premise or make your own options and a dessert bar with ice cream, treats, and a chocolate fountain. They also offered a sushi bar and a full Mongolian grill! The grill was the highlight of the visit but it was a little sad to see the food waste as so many people overfilled their bowls. The food was average to good with only a handful of items worth revisiting. My kids enjoyed the experience but haven't asked to go to a buffet since. read more

This used to be one of my favorite places going as a kid and growing up. The food used to be great and the environment, clean and friendly. Now I could not find one thing to eat that wasn't dry or just plain awful. Everything is covered in oil has no flavor and it's way overpriced. We end up sitting down for about 10 minutes and we couldn't find anything to eat between the four of us at the table so we can ask for a refund and went somewhere else. I've tried this place twice recently hoping it was just one bad experience but the place has really just gone downhill. read more

There's not that many. And it's honestly weird options because we have American on one side (meat loaf, Mac and cheese, bread, ribs) and the other side is Asian food (fried shrimp, shrimp fried rice, sweet and sour chicken) ... but the reason I'm saying it's weird is because NONE of the food go together. They offer a dessert section that has a chocolate fountain cookies cakes etc and a make your own noodles/Lo mein station. But the dessert are bleh .... Not great. And the Lo mein station is very limited to what you can include in your dish ... no seafood options and this station only offers 3 types of meats. I was concerned that since they were closed so much during the year of Covid perhaps they would have to skimp on the selection or that the quality would be diminished. I'm glad I went back. You spent time making sure your bowl had all your favorite ingredients in it and you added all your oils just right, and you hand your bowl over to them so they can robotically add it to the shell-game they have going on the barbecue? You wait forever and then realize your food was probably given to someone else because the people running the Mongolian Barbecue aren't doing anything in any kind of order? They don't give a rodent's rear end about you at the Mongolian barbecue at Paradise Buffet. The Mongolian Barbecue is my favorite part of any buffet and the whole reason why I go. Never once has a buffet lost my food and ignored me when I tried to get their attention at the barbecue.
