Calamari

Simply put, this is my #1 go-to now when I go to Murray, Utah for work. I love sushi, and this place is less than a mile from the hotel I always stay at. It's such a great place -- the service is always speedy and friendly. The sushi/nigiri is superb. I've tried a number of things, all of them good. The Volcano Roll is worth noting. And they have some really good sides too like the calamari and gyoza. It's excellent, and like I said, I go every work trip out there now.

This is probably my new favorite spot to get sushi. I never finish my entire roll but I did here! I even liked my boyfriend's choice (The J) and I typically only order fried rolls. All the flavors were so fresh and everything seemed to be excellent quality. Perfect crisp on the Vegas roll. Even the fried rice was amazing. Service was great, ambience was a cute city vibe right off of state street. It's a little pricey but worth it, we will be back!

After a couple years, I thought it was time to come back and try out Soy's Sushi again. I came here for a birthday lunch with a close friend. The parking lot is currently under construction as of August 2024, so that was a little annoying, but not to the fault of the restaurant. The location shares a parking lot with Pho Saigon, a Home2Suites, and a bunch of other little small shops in the heart of Murray State Street. Inside, the restaurant is clean and I can see this place being great for a business lunch or even a date. It's a good sushi place for any occasion really. My friend was impressed with the Jalapeño Hamachi, we both agreed that it didn't taste fishy at all. I also don't usually eat Yellowtail, but it was good! The Salmon Belly was a little of a let down because it was tiny and I felt like I paid for an avocado instead. The sauce it was doused in was pretty good though. We did order some Maki Rolls (salmon and scallop) and the Baked Mussels (they were kind of small), but I wasn't able to get a picture of it because I forgot and we were starving! No complaints on any of the rolls. I liked their Volcano roll because the tempura batter isn't thick, but there was enough tempura around the roll to give it a slight crunch. Overall, Soy's not my first choice when it comes to sushi, but I would not be opposed to ever coming back! The sushi and fish was good and fresh and I enjoyed it.

This place has been on my "try it" list. Since the reviews were positive I have some pretty good expectations of them. Started with an order of pan friend gyoza and beers, we were off to a good track! We ordered a couple of rolls and the boneless korean short ribs. We ordered a few rolls, the Murray, Holladay, orchid and the Vegas. The only one that I though was good was memorable was the Murray. The service was decent, but minimal- which is fine, considering that it was dinner time. They we're hosting a paint night and it was kinda hard to hear since the instructor would use a microphone. I thought, well maybe sushi, beer and pain night sounds fun! Overall I was not impressed with their sushi, if I'm in the area I would definitely grab the Korean beef plate for sure! The meat portion was massive and so packed with flavor, that is one thousand percent worth every penny!

Teriyaki chicken

A lovely dinner with excellent food and gracious service. We started with edamame, a tuna roll and pan-fried gyoza. All were well prepared and tasty. My friend had chicken fried rice which he enjoyed ... but for my taste I would have preferred a lot more vegetables in it. I had teriyaki chicken which was beautifully presented and layered with lots of onions, zucchini, mushrooms, green peppers in teriyaki sauce.

Highly recommend the walnut shrimp! Lots of parking in the back! The service was also great and everything was really clean!

The food here was ok, nothing spectacular the food presentation was amazing. One detrimental thing is that they used PRINGLES for their tuna tartare which costed like 20 bucks. Their service on the other hand saved their review they were incredible. The ambience was of an upscale Michelin restaurant.

Wow who new Murray had a first class Sushi restaurant? I did not until now. stopped in for dinner with Holly and we were impressed. Great tasting yellow curry with just the right amount of sweetness and spice. The sexy shrimp was beautiful, fresh and delicious. The walnut shrimp was sweet and flavorful. Our service was fast , friendly, and helpful. I love that Murray has an awesome sushi spot ! We will be back.

Spicy Tuna roll, Spider roll

Came in for a quick solo lunch and tried the sushi lunch special, 2 maki rolls plus a miso soup for $13. Honestly, can't beat that I'm this economy. Got the spicy tuna and the spider roll and they were both very good. The inside of the restaurant is nice looking, but it didn't feel so fancy that it would make me feel weird having a quick lunch. After eating here, I have looked over various reviews and I can't wait to come here sometime for dinner!

The Kaguya roll is excellent. The service is good and the restaurant has a decidedly cosmopolitan atmosphere. Considering Utah is hours away from the nearest ocean the prices are reasonable. We will continue to eat here and I recommend this place without hesitation. An added plus is they have a fairly big non fish menu if you're going with people that don't want "sushi". I can't comment on the other offerings as we only get fish here but all things considered I'd be surprised if it wasn't good as well.

Parking was easy with plenty of spots available, which always makes for a stress-free start. I ordered the beef bento and the Salmon Lemonade roll, and both absolutely hit the spot. The roll was the standout -- topped with a caramelized slice of lemon that added a slightly sweet, citrusy pop that made each bite unforgettable. The beef in the bento was packed with flavor and cooked just right, making it a satisfying and well-rounded meal. If you're a fan of Japanese cuisine and looking for a reliable, tasty lunch option, Miyazaki is definitely worth a visit.

It's a very unique, strong garlic flavor with a thick broth. However, in my second visit, I became acquainted with the Spicy Kani Miso ramen... And holy *smokes,* is that a delicious ramen. The broth is deliciously miso and umami, with a lowkey seafood flavor, as though they cooked the crab in the broth. It was topped with a serving of shredded snow crab and the most tender, melt-in-your-mouth chashu pork slice. I savored every bit of this bowl, and even drank all the broth!! The appetizers were good, the best bang for your buck being the spicy karaage--it has a good kick, crispy fry without being greasy, and unique spicy flavor. Everything else we tried (garlic edamame, takoyaki, and enoki chips) was good, but nothing special. Service was incredibly speedy and very friendly, and you can tell that the owners put a lot of thought into the restaurant's design to make it feel like a genuine Japanese ramen shop with a modern twist. Do note that this restaurant is a bit pricy, but each bowl is thoughtfully crafted and the ingredients they use are the real deal. If you like ramen of a higher standard, especially when so many restaurants these days use generic ramen soup base with premade noodles and frozen appetizers, it's 100% worth the cost. I think my only complaint is that they boast about using locally-sourced ingredients, but nothing on their menu really sounds local (such as enoki, snow crab, wagyu beef, etc.). Also note that if you're driving, the nearest parking garage is often crowded, but the restaurant offers parking validation.

This type of service and food isn't something you would think you can get in Utah.

We tried the Nana, UT, Mountain Fuji, and the dragon roll and they all tasted really good. The sushi we got from the buffet was also pretty fresh, and we loved how you had a variety of food to choose from. There's options for non seafood eaters, and also options for kids (fried, dumplings, etc). The dessert was also very tasty, we really enjoyed the crème brûlée. It was creamy with a nice caramelized hard sugar topping that was satisfying to crack into. The place was nice, clean, and spacious. A gentleman finally got up to go strike a match under someone's year end. The young female server comes over half grumpily with a slight wannabe smile, and takes our drink order. She brings most of the drinks fairly quickly. But doesn't even attempt to ask if we're ready to order and we've been there 25ish minutes waiting?! The grill across from us got sat after us and by the time she came back to see if we were ready to order, they were done with the show and eating. *InsertEyeRoll*. She took our orders, repeating them and went on her way and shortly returned with our soup and salad. A few more minutes go by just barely before our cook shows up. He gets asking about everyone's orders and meat preference. Awesome. He starts his show, as always... scrambled eggs and rice first right?! Unfortunately, out of 8 of us 7 ordered fried rice, one steamed. Server brought out steamed rice to the one, and cook dishes out 5 bowls of fried rice. Two of us question where our rice was. So they have to prep and cook in the kitchen. Like WTAF?! But whatever... Cook was good, but not overly funny. He didn't even use the funny oil peeing boy (IYKYK) which my 9yo old always gets excited about. Food was cooked just right IMO but server never came back to refill drinks or see if we needed anything. They don't have yum yum sauce it's something much runnier which was disappointing. After the cook was done, they were practically rushing us out, by picking up plates, offering boxes, and setting new clean dishwater near the grill. I'm glad that they are efficient, but where's my server? Where's my water & wine refill? For a Friday evening and NOT very busy, I was really bummed for how horrible our experience and service was. This is one of the best teppanyaki restaurants around. This server didn't do her job and our last 5 star experience turned to a 3 star and was underwhelming sadly.
