Sushi Chef would take an empty plate of sushi that was on the buffet line. Wipe the moisture off the plate (not wash it) and reuse it. These plates not only have Sushi on them but the germs from kids coughing on them, nasty hands hovering over them etc. At the Mongolian line, beef tongs are in the shrimp bin etc. Tongs for veggies touching meat. So many regrets. We have not been for at least 2 years and the last time we came we said never again. I guess it is like giving birth, time makes you think it is not that bad. I am honestly surprised they have not been shut down. There is no way their hot food is to temp. Rice hard, hot food cold, sushi room temp - everything is dirty... just dirty (from the seasoning containers to the silverware.. just dirty). I also feel like the people who work there know how bad this food is and look at all of us like we are crazy for eating there. They know know.... And I know I did this to myself. One of the rudest and most disgusting worst place I've ever been all the food is terrible and cheap. I walked in. Was there for less than 10 minutes after realizing I couldn't have any of the food I had three shrimp and three pieces of beef and my 10 pieces of fry's afterwards I let the staff know that I couldn't have anything due to me having IBS the staff still charge me a full $21 and said they couldn't do anything about it even though I only had one plate of food. I recommend this place for anyone who is hungry and looking for buffet place. It was $23 including tip so it was a good price for lunch. I can sum up my overall experience in one word "terrible" the food is very bland the customer service sucks they didn't come and check on us at all. They didn't even have the staples they had no orange chicken not string bean chicken they had pineapple chicken which was not seasoned noor was it just. I'm not the biggest fan of buffet's. I used to work at a buffet in my youth and I have seen things that fully justify my prejudice against buffets. On rare occasions I will accept someone's offer to dine at a buffet and I begrudgingly accepted an invitation to visit Kings Buffet on a Sunday afternoon lol. It was quite busy, but the kitchen and staff were quite good at replenishing food items on the buffet line. Which made for piping hot dishes that weren't sitting on the buffet line for too long. Definitely a plus in my book. They had quite a selection of soup, seafood, sushi, Asian inspired dishes such as chicken/beef and broccoli, chicken skewers, gyoza, sweet and sour chicken to name a few. A salad bar, dessert bar, and cold appetizers bar as well. A Mongolian stir fry station and ice cream. If you love a buffet with a variety of Asian inspired dishes to satisfy your craving. Kings Buffet may be worth a try for you. Of course there are a few dishes like pizza and nuggets. For picky eaters like kids. You pay at the end of the meal. King Buffet is definitely our go to place to eat as a family. Especially with having a little one that is always unpredictable in terms of what he wants to eat. Kids below 3 or 4 eat for free btw. This location is always consistent with the way their food tastes as well. On top of this place being a buffet, they also have a sushi/rolls area for you to choose from as well as a Mongolian bbq area where you choose what meat, vegetables, noodles and toppings you want and they cook it in front of you. They have a lot of different kinds of food to choose from, from fried food (chicken, shrimp, meat) to the traditional Chinese entrees such as sesame chicken, beef and broccoli, mushroom to seafood such as crawfish, fried shrimp, lobster and fish skillets. To top it off, they have soup such as hot and sour, egg drop and wonton soup. There is definitely a lot of food to choose from. What I usually get is ribs, fried chicken, fried cheese wonton, and their California roll. When I do want some beef, I get beef from the Mongolian bbq place and tell the cook to cook it medium well, which they usually follow, if not, sometimes the cook doesn't understand any English lol. Service here is always good, the waiter and waitresses are always attentive in terms of them picking up your used plates to giving you a drink refill. The desert section is awesome too. They have ice cream cones that will serve you soft serve chocolate and vanilla, to vanilla/chocolate ice cream that's already in a to go cup ready to go. And they have puddings such as tapioca pudding, chocolate pudding and banana cream pudding. This place never disappointed us and is the best bang for your buck in terms of food. My two former co-workers and I decided to come here since I told him I would take him out for his birthday, which was long overdue. Parking: The parking is big and adjacent to other local businesses. Food: The Chinese noodles, beef broccoli, and fried rice were surprisingly good. The fish and cooked oysters were not so good. Service: They ask you if you would like anything to drink and any refills. They do this because unlike most buffets, that have a soda dispenser or fountain, they do not. They have to get it for you, so they can charge you one each one. Ambiance: The ambiance is nice, and decent, better than most buffets I have been to. Price: I was confused about the price because they have a sign posted saying lunch is $13, and dinner is $17. However, when I asked to confirm the prices, she told me lunch was $17 per person. The total bill for my former co-worker and I, was $40 I believe, maybe a few dollars more. Overall, I am not sure I am going to come back. I felt like I was being rushed, and kicked out, which that has never happened to me before. We arrived at 11:00 AM and were given the bill as I was eating, sometime before 12:00 PM. This is for the King buffet in salt lake City Utah on State Street. The manager there was very kind and seemed very nice. He helped me to get my food and made the entire process smooth. The ambience of the place was very nice for New Year's Day. I just want to give a shout out to him because everybody there is great but his smile was larger than I expected for being having to work on New Year's Day. Shout out to him all accolades. They are a good place to come eat with the family for a buffet. They have a lot of seafood and some grilled chicken and fries also. My friends really wanted to go, so we went. $15.95 per person for all you can eat Chinese food, sushi, Mongolian grill, fruits, and dessert (drinks not included). Surprisingly, the ingredients were all really fresh! I did my best to stay away from the heavy carbs and ate mainly seafood and veggies. The fried plantains and Chinese donuts got me though! As had as I tried, I couldn't resist! We came here kinda late and were famished so everything was really good! We each had 2 plates of food, and made extra rounds for soups and desserts. I think the Taylorsville location is better than the one in South SLC. The sushi was way better. I like that the cream cheese filling is not overpowering and that the sashimi is very soft and tastier than the rest of the buffets I been too. This place has definitely become worst over time I've been coming since I was a toddler with my family and back then the food service and basically everything was super good but now it's ehh first time that changed was the food the honeydew taste like it's Been in hand sanitizer the fish was hard and kinda stale like it's been reheated and the wontons stale and no cheese the lo mein the chefs cooked aren't even fully stirred and the noodles it self was hard. Like it wasn't fully cooked and the egg drop soup had no flavor and there was this big black spect in it that looked like black mold it was bigger than a black pepper spect which was really weird fruit is like mushy the pineapple taste like it was in a can then left out for the night. Enough with the food the service was not nearly as good cause there always around the back wall talking and they give dirty looks to which is sad and pathetic always laughing and talking and whispering and the water taste slightly like tap water so that's always nice! Haven't been to any buffets for last one year. After the pandemic, the buffet concept really scares me. But it was my dad's birthday and this is his favorite buffet that he had been asking for to go for awhile. As my dad is over 75 years, I was also worried if the table will be in a crowded place with lots of traffic. But when we went there, they gave us a big table where there were no traffic...I'm extremely thankful for that! I was also very surprised to see how organized, neat and clean the place was! They reduced table numbers, so there are gaps between tables. When you go up to the buffet to bring foods, mask and (new) gloves are mandatory. And they kept gloves and hand sanitizers by the plates. They played birthday song and brought a cake for my dad when I told them it's his birthday...it made him s-o happy! Foods were delicious. Very impressed with their cleanliness and friendly service. Hands down this buffet is one of the best I've been to, the food was VERY fresh, my 9 yo son devoured 2 plates of sushi. We got there at 3 and dinner started at 3:30, my husband really wanted shrimp which is served only during dinner, the Staff was nice enough to let us know when the shrimp had been served, Very friendly and communicative staff. King Buffet is the place I'd go to where I expect cheap no frills Chinese buffet but it's not a place I'd go to often. There's always some weird smell as you go in and the bathroom did have a horrible stench. I would not use their bathrooms but alas I had a kid that needed to go. It would be much better if bathrooms were clean and no weird smells. We came around 5pm and were seated immediately. They do deserve credit for being one of the very few restaurants that are open until 10pm on a major holiday like Xmas Day. Most of the food at King Buffet is not the greatest or grandest but they do have a lot of options plus seafood and all you can eat sushi. Something for everyone. Fries and pizza and ice cream appealing for kids. Lots of good appetizers. Servers were on top of clearing plates and refilling our drinks. You have to come when it is busy! The food stays very fresh and is much much better. It can get very loud but the atmosphere remains decent. You can get a ton of seafood for a very cheap price, which is the main reason I would recommend a visit. read more

I think everyone some time or another craves a 'Chinese buffet'. We came here a few weeks ago one late afternoon. Plenty of food, lots of waitresses and waiters, our drinks were always full. Really nice service. The food was fully stocked as far as I could see. And there was a pretty good variety. The sushi was pretty decent, but I wish it tasted more fresh. It kind of felt like they had been sitting there ready for a while. The chicken was a highlight as well as a pork kabob I believe had a lot of flavor. The noodles were very tasty I couldn't get enough. There were probably 3 different kinds I tried and they were all good . I also was really excited to get some plain vanilla soft serve in an ice cream cone to finish my meal, it was super delicious. There was a chocolate fountain near the ice cream, but the strawberries to dip were gross, old and not quite ripe it was completely unappealing.
