I love the food here. The flatbreads are always good and of course so are the pastries. I prefer the drive through though because it can be very crowded inside. I had one of the most awkward experiences here. The male manager came into the woman's bathroom to tell a female employee that she needed to make more lemonade. It was one of those days where all of a sudden it was 2pm and my stomach was eating itself because I had forgotten to eat anything before my shopping adventure. I didn't want to eat out but knew I needed something soon so I chose Panera. I chose to get their soup and grilled cheese sandwich. I went through the drive thru which was super fast and in no time I was on my way with a hot grilled cheese and some chicken soup. Just a head up that they also give you french bread with your soup even if you get a sandwich. It was a little bit of a bread overload but the soup tasted good and the grilled cheese was decent. I think when you order simple items it's hard to be disappointed. I wouldn't choose to come here normally but now I know if I really need a snack and don't want to eat fast food I can get some soup and half a sandwich here and not feel bad after eating it. Came here with my family today super hungry we ordered the biggest portion of Caesar salad w no chicken, a broccoli cheddar soup and the Alfredo chicken, the service was very friendly but my Caesar salad came with chicken (not a big deal) and no croutons and it was a tiny portion!!! The soup was awesome and so was the chicken Alfredo, I only realized my salad was missing croutons when I had to order one same size, same way to take out, then I realized my take out salad was almost twice as big and had croutons !! This review is because they are consistently out of products. The last 4, if not 5, times I've gone in the evening they've been out of dinner rolls...at dinner time. I have visited Panera for the past or five months. Are usually stop for dinner on my way home from work around 6:30 or 7:00. Are used to stop by once or twice a week. That was until they were out of items on their menu. Five separate times, i've placed my order online, or at the drive-through, only to get to the restaurant or the window, and be told they don't actually have the item that I ordered. I took a break from going. Today I was told, when I tried them again, that they have no French baguette, which is a main staple of their menu. My recommendation, if you go late, ask what they actually have, rather than what's on the menu. read more

Before my last visit, this would have been a 5 star review. Today, not at all. I will NEVER go here again. Unless I find out that the manager has been retrained. I ordered via the Internet - the Rapid option. No where online, unless you dig into the FAQ's does it say that you cannot pick up the Rapid order through the Drive-Thru. I ordered online to save time, as I was on my way to drop one child at practice, and watch the other play a game. I went through the drive-thru because I am on crutches with a blown knee. I was immediately told that I had to come inside to carry out my order. I asked if they could please just do this for me, and explained my physical limitation, including not being able to carry everything myself. They brought the manager up, who told me that I had to come inside. So, I asked for a refund, and he gave me a refund rather than hand my already paid for food out of the drive thru window because I am temporarily disabled. I told him that I would provide my ID, the credit card, but that didn't matter. It was company policy. He then refunded my order, and I told him that I was on the phone with his customer support. He glibly said "okay." And, when I told him that I would never be back he said "okay." So, I called their customer service line, and was told that while it is their policy exceptions can absolutely be made to accommodate a customer. She then told me that she was going to escalate this to her manager, and the District Manager and I would be contacted. But, radio silence. No contact made. My kids went to practice and their games without dinner. I will never go back. Too bad as I loved their food. But horrible customer service without acknowledgement is not acceptable. read more

Horrible experience, 0 stars. I placed a large to-go order. Upon receiving my order, I was surprised to see everything (over 8 items) squished into one small bag. The bread sides were unwrapped and hastily thrown on top of the order. Two of the sandwiches in my order were made wrong and I went back inside to kindly ask if I could have them remade. The woman working (8/3/18 at 7:30pm) was extremely rude. She seemed annoyed, aggravated, and irritated. I've never had such poor customer service. Over 10 minutes later, she came out with my new order and continued to treat me terribly. I was totally shocked and did not feel comfortable eating something that she had touched. Overall, terrible experience at this Panera location. In the end, we did not eat the items in this order because based on the customer service/interaction, in no way did we feel comfortable consuming any items made here. First time at a Panera. The gal taking our order was very friendly and helpful. My sister and I ordered the same salad (Thai) I just requested mine minus Edamame. The salad looked lovely but mine and my sisters chicken was FROZEN. They offered to make a new one but I hated the thought of wasting the entire salad. They did point me in the direction of the microwave. After that was sorted out, we both looked closer at our salads and they were different. Her's had a vinger tasting dressing while mine had a spicy peanut. Mine had wontons hers had carrots? Again they offered to make us new ones but we declined. They were very apologetic and the food wasn't that bad once we cooked our chicken and determined what we were eating. I have never wrote a bad review before but this place has just messed up so many times. The past few times I've not been happy with the service OR the product ...I have gotten the wrong sandwich multiple times now and even when I called them to let them know I had gotten the wrong order they said they would have an "on the house one" for me so wasn't to upset but the fact that it's happened multiple times now is very frustrating when you are paying almost $10 for a sandwich that ISN'T what you ordered. I shouldn't have to come back to get my correct order. Then I went in today as a last attempt to get something on my lunch break. I asked for avocado added to my order they had added the smallest piece to my sandwich and it had pretty much no chicken AGAIN spending about $28 on my order for it to be completely sloppy and mostly bread... I have been to this location many times the past few years and man has their quality declined. Stopped in a few days ago to give their seasonal Pumpkin Spice Latte a try. Going in I knew it'd be pretty sweet, so upon ordering I instructed the lady over the drive-thru intercom to add half the sweetness they normally put in. I took two sips and I couldn't drink another drop it was UNBELIEVABLY SWEET. It tasted SO sweet that instead of cutting the sugar to half, they must've quadrupled its sweetness!!! I have been a Panera fan since it was St. Louis Bread Company, and I was very excited when it finally came to the Eugene area. Sadly, each time I visit, the food is more expensive and the food quality is worse. The menu offers lots of yummy-looking options for soups, salads, and sandwiches. But increasingly, the actual food is pretty disappointing. Lettuce tastes not-so-fresh from a bag, bacon is flat and textureless in the way that only pre-cooked bacon can be, meats are on par with other fast food places, and soups may as well have come from a can. The bread is the only remaining thing that I'd still say is good. The atmosphere is nice, service is friendly and quick, and the experience is consistent in a corporate kind of way (think Starbucks). The glorified fast-food quality just isn't enough to justify the high cost of the meal when we have so many great, inexpensive restaurants around here. read more

I don't care about atmosphere and am pretty unhappy I didn't spend my money for less expensive and far better food from any of the food carts or small restaurants in Eugene. I had the white cheddar and steak panini half sandwich. The little had chicken noodle soup with bread. What I can say? The bread was good, but you can't screw up bread and butter. They use land o lakes butter which is pretty good. Seriously though, almost $16 for a not good panini and soup that wasn't much better than Progresso was hugely disappointing. I went in here today just to get an oatmeal raisin cookie and had to wait ten minutes as the cashiers took a very long time with only two other customers in front of me. I noticed there was one employee blatantly, in front of all other customers, on their phone while they were behind the register, not doing anything else or taking any other customers. There was another blonde, shorter height cashier in full uniform and apron drinking out of a plastic water bottle behind the counter, which didn't seem very professional to me. The service and restaurant atmosphere were good. I had the turkey avacodo BLT sandwich. I would not recommend it. The lettuce was wilted with dark brown spots. The turkey was just chunks of turkey, very bland no flavor. The salad was good needed more dressing. The bread was really good. The Gateway Mall location just opened! I found it is a great place to take my clients in between showing homes. I ordered the soup and salad and they also provided me with delish crunchy bread with real butter. it was so amazing! My clients ordered the pizza slices and were happy too!
