I love this Panera. The only place was open on Christmas day when I was sick and craving soup. I also saw on the reviews that they do not have many pastries and bakery items, but this is the only Panera bread I've been to with a shelf full of bakeries. Thank you for being open during Christmas day and still being super nice, friendly, and attentive.

Poorly run and staffed. Takes way too long for on line order pick-up. Forget about actually ordering from the counter!

One of the best spots in downtown Richmond (Scott's addition area) for a small group to enjoy a great meal in a cozy setting! I finished off the salmon cake sandwich with french fries; as it was very delicious and filling. The hostess and wait staff were helpful and friendly during the whole experience.

Only street parking is available, but it wasn't too difficult to find a spot. The atmosphere: Very rustic vibe with some farmhouse-style decor. They have table, high-top, bar, and patio seating available. The food: I opted for the Chicken and Waffles with a side of cheese grits. I chose to make it hot for more spice. It's served with one whole waffle, two large pieces of fried chicken, and syrup on the side. The chicken was not seasoned as much as I hoped and wasn't as spicy as I expected, which was a bummer. The cheese grits were alright as well, but not as flavorful as I hoped. My partner ordered the Double Barrel Bowl, and he really enjoyed it. It was packed with pulled pork and was plentiful and filling. The service: Great and kind service from Mave (I believe that is her name but I'm not entirely sure). She informed us about the daily specials and was attentive throughout our visit.

I am soooo sad I missed years of delicious gluten free food! Gluten free sandwiches are prepared with GF bread using a separate toaster and appropriate safety procedures if you tell them it's an allergy or restriction. They also bring in GF pie and cake daily from a local bakery. Their food portions are generous while also being reasonably priced. They also offer the option of taking your meal in a borrowed picnic basket so you can have a picnic in the park across the street on nice days.

Grabbing a sandwich here for a relaxing picnic at the park in-front is one of my favorite things to do :) --------------------------------- Food: various warm and cold sandwiches, the haberdasher is my go-to - it's a smoked salmon sandwich with benedictine spread/tomatoes, the bread to smoked salmon ratio is so good, and it comes with a side (I like the coleslaw or salad); we've also tried the big daddy which is quite a big sandwich (can be 2 meals) Recommendations: they have a $35 date night special Affordability: less than $20/meal which is great in this economy Ambiance: charming corner cafe that transports you back in time Service: good, they do get very busy and often run out of picnic baskets Good for: casual lunch, local eats

The tofu Pad Thai rice noodles were so flavorful and cooked perfectly. The soup dumplings were my absolute favorite -- juicy, delicious, and full of flavor. The fried soft pork bun was a full 10/10: soft, tasty, and beautifully presented. I tried the sesame noodles for the first time; they were served cold, but surprisingly really good! The fried pork dumplings were another hit--my son loved them. And honestly, you can't beat the prices... dumplings for $7 and noodles for $5? Super affordable for such great quality. The place itself is beautiful and peaceful, and the service was quick and super friendly. They even checked in to make sure I was enjoying everything and I absolutely did. Highly recommend! I'll definitely be coming back.

Honest opinion 10/10!!

For appetizer I got the cream cheese rangoons which were pretty good, just very cream cheese heavy. The BEST thing I tried was definitely the orange chicken. It is seriously one of the best I have tried. It is crunchy, flavorful, and so delicious, especially with their spicy crunchy oil on top. I could honestly come back just for that. The orange chicken from Ugly Dumpling is absolutely amazing!!!!! I was recommended the orange chicken by my server who was very kind and attentive!! Also, I got the noodles with spicy sauce which weren't super spicy but still tasty and I tried the veggie bao buns for the first time and really enjoyed them! This time we got seated but were not warned that our server hasn't even clocked into their shift yet. Not the server's fault. The gentleman who seated us could have given us a warning. Don't come in hungry, you'll be gnawing on the table. If you aren't already aware, Ugly Dumpling tries to replicate Din Tai Fung. If DTF is 10/10 food, Ugly Dumpling is 6/10. Food quality is also variable depending on the day. DTF service (in all the 5 locations I've been in) is 10/10, Ugly Dumpling is a 3/10. Please do not think this is good dim sum, we just don't have good dim sum places in RVA. I go rarely just to scratch an itch (without it being actually satisfying). It's kind of like having the Great Value version of a brand name.

If they aren't part of the decor, it was a treat nonetheless. We stepped inside from the rain with a parking spot very near the door. I snapped a pic on the way in to capture it's essence. We risked another walk-in with no reservations, and we snagged two prime end seats on the communal table. There were two open seats at the bar as well; might come in handy some other rainy Thursday night. The server, Murphy M., judging by the receipt, who helped my partner and I with our order, was a gracious host and incredibly well-practiced. It was a master class in serving, made effortless by him. He could not have been more accommodating, as we saw him appear inevitably at the exact right moments. Our server offered us bread and oil before the appetizer. The bread here is made fresh daily. It was so soft, I could not tell the difference from store bought. The food was exquisitely well prepared, the chefs and kitchen staff are immensely skilled. The appetizer was presented to us within a relatively short amount of time. We had time for a short discussion before the it arrived. The Tiropita was described as "four pieces of heaven." Accurate. The phyllo was thin and crisp, and the feta was creamy and delicious. I was careful not to bite too hard and ruin my pants. I had the Kotopoulo, which is a feta-brined oven-baked chicken with lemon and herbs served with lemon potatoes. The dish was cooked to perfection. The cooked potatoes were exactly as I like them, soft yet held their shape. It was an excellent meal, if a bit unwieldy (it's like half a rotisserie chicken, basically). My partner had the Hilopites, an egg noodle dish with giant beans, pine nuts, kalamata olives, cherry tomatoes, and feta, in a creamy, savory sauce that I couldn't begin to describe with mere words. The meals were both stunning, made unclear by my disastrous photography. All that being said, I did not really enjoy my meal as I was expecting. Maybe it's me, maybe it's today, or maybe the flavors simply weren't what I am accustomed to with the dozens of Greek restaurants from my past. I'm uncertain, and that's okay sometimes. Either way, it was a fantastic experience, and I will dine here again.
