Cheesesteak Melt
Shannel W.

I've been here a few times over the years and typically have a decent experience. Today, not so much. I ordered a cheesesteak melt with no mushrooms and no Swiss. When I received my "melt" there were no onions or American cheese. The server took it back to have them "remake" but when I received it, it was a cold slice of cheese split in half and a few onions on top. They didn't even attempt to warm it up and make it a "melt". The sandwich was ice cold and I was truly in disbelief. Totally disappointed and really expected and hoped for more. Manager didn't even come to the table to speak with me. I use to enjoy this place so I'm hoping they get it together

Crabs eggs Benedict and a delicious melty cristo

Eggs Up Grill is such a beautiful gem. The name insinuates a cozy vibe which was definitely fulfilled walking in. The restaurant is very welcoming with fresh colors that are a really nice sight for tired morning eyes. We went on a weekday, so it was not too busy but that was definitely not due to the service or food. The place was clean and the service was great. Our server checked in on us multiple times and even gave us a punch card for our next visit. The food was so good and reasonably priced. I had the crab cake eggs benedict which was absolutely amazing. Typically cheaper crab cakes can taste very fishy but these were delicious and surprisingly fresh tasting. They went very well with the hollandaise sauce it was paired with. If you're a coffee drinker please try the Oatmeal cookie cold brew! It was sweet and earthy it tasted like a nostalgic oatmeal cream pie in all of the best ways. All I can say is you must turn up to eggs up grill. From it's affordability to its delectability I don't think you will be disappointed.

This was a good breakfast spot. The interior was cute and clean. The staff was super friendly. They had a pretty extensive menu and it all sounded good. I got the classic benny. It was good but not great. I would come back again!

Iced vanilla coffee

This is a good option for a quick diner type breakfast or lunch. We went on a Friday around 1230 and it wasn't busy at all. The server was friendly, though the restaurant wasn't tidy. There were many tables with dirty dishes laying around and they were in no hurry to clear tables after people left. The table we were seated at had a lot of food under the table and crumbs on the seats. The food was fine. Our favorite item were the biscuits, they seem to be griddled so we're crunchy on one side and soft on the other. Good buttery flavor. The vanilla iced coffee was way sweet, so I couldn't drink it. Hubby enjoyed his eggs Benedict with home fries. I had the egg bomb blt and it was a decent sandwich. I had ordered regula fries but got home fries. It was rectified quickly with fresh fries. Overall, as mentioned a good little breakfast/lunch diner option. We will go back and try it again at some point.

Eggs Benedict with turkey sausage and home fries.

My first time here and it was a dreary cold rainy Tuesday at around 8:30 am. Maybe about 15 customers in total inside. Was greeted and my drink order taken promptly. Seating and table height are both comfortable at the booths. I ordered eggs Benedict with home fries and two turkey sausage patties. From order time to it arriving at my table was about 10 reasonable minutes. The eggs were cooked to perfection, the hollandaise sauce was meh and the English muffins were not toasted properly leaving them barely luke warm. The potatoes were overly seasoned with too much paprika and were cold inside - I asked for a replacement that arrived hot. The turkey sausage was good but one patty seemed not warm enough. Not sure why food isn't prepared and served hot when there aren't many customers... leaves me to wonder about returning again.

cold brew house blend with mocha
Shawn K.

So we got here at 9 ish hoping the place wouldn't be too packed. Yeah, they were packed. Nonstop I might add. Thankfully, they have a slew of servers (and cooks?) to get through the high volume of traffic. First think we noticed was how clean and chic everything was. Very impressive considering how many folks were in-and-out of here. Ya'll. I'm not into cold brews. But this place made me a believer. The house blend mocha was divine. My friend got the French vanilla cappucino. She said it was super good. I ended up getting a regular house blend cold brew to-go once we left. I didn't like it as much as the mocha but was still delicious. The food itself was very good. I didn't find anything specifically wrong with the platter I got. If anything, most of the items were slightly above average. What we did notice was just how good the bacon was. Full of flavor. Great amount of crisp. Interesting point to make. A request was made to add chocolate chips into a pancake for the little one. They did. And the pancake was pretty incredible. She couldn't stop raving how good the pancake was.

First time here, and they have been open only for a few months. Nice and bright place, decent spacing, not super noisy, prompt and attentive service, offered refills on coffee before even half the cup was gone, great place!

At some point, my mom had to get up to find someone to take our order, which is not a great start. Service thereafter was neither terrible nor outstanding. But she was polite and prompt, and seemed to get our order right. 3/5 for service. My niece ordered the French toast with eggs, a fruit cup, and sausage. My mom ordered an omelette with grits, and my dad ordered the chicken biscuit sandwich with loaded breakfast potatoes. For my meal, I had a waffle, a fruit cup, and some breakfast potatoes. My mom and I got the pineapple mimosas. They didn't have a ton of vegetarian options, but this definitely worked out just fine. I do still hope that they will add more vegetarian options to the menu, including keeping a little plant-based sausage or bacon on hand. The pineapple mimosa was very delicious and came in a nice, ample glass. The waffle was good. I personally like my waffles a bit crisper, and this one was a bit softer, but it still tasted great. The breakfast potatoes were perfectly cooked. Lovely and crispy on the outside, well seasoned and perfect with ketchup. The fruit cup was also delicious, nice and fresh. Overall, it seemed like everybody enjoyed their meal. 4/5 food The space itself seemed pretty clean, and the booths were nice. Even though the decor was not my personal style, the ambience was still nice overall. 4/5 ambiance Overall, pretty good experience. I'm sure we'll be back.

Shrimp & Grits - The grits had absolutely no flavor (highly recommend using more than water to make them). I assumed the lobster cream sauce was meant to mask the absence of flavor, but since there are more grits than sauce it is hard to go un-noticed. - This was sent back in exchange for an All -American w. Cin-a-bun pancakes. All-American - The cin-a-bun pancake did taste very good. The bacon was bacon. The eggs were good. The homefries were kinda dry as if they may have been sitting for a while. Nashville Chicken Sandwich- The sandwich had potential to taste great. The chicken was nice and thick, but i believe all of the hto sauce may have been poured on just one side of the sandwich. - one side was a plain chicken sandwich which was tolerable. While the other side of the sandwich was extremely hot ! The french fries tasted very good! Classic Burger - Tasted good. Fries were good. The Server we had was somewhat attentive. She was not rude. Just did not see her much. This place is slightly loud- the energy is definitely upbeat. Overall, I dont have it on my list to return - slight underwhelmed.

This was my 2nd visit to Lillie Pearl at their new location at 305 Brook Road. I absolutely love…read morethe new location. The decor and the ambiance are invigorating & soul soothing concurrently. On both occasions I ate in the upstairs dining area & I really enjoyed being able to look out their windows & observe the hustle & bustles of Broad Street while dining. The music that played in the background while we dined was the perfect aural companion to a down home Southern cuisine centered meal. As you know, I love when the music in the restaurant compliments the cuisine & Lillie Pearl's playlist is top notch. During our dining time, we ordered their Smoked Wings as our appetizer. The wings were perfectly seasoned & visually appealing. However, I found them to be a bit dry & overcooked for my taste. My dining companion, however, had no problem with the wings texture. She enjoyed them very much. For my main meal, I ordered their Wild Game Burger[a mixture of Waygu Beef, Bison & Wild Boar] with a side order of Fries. The burger was cooked perfectly. It was well seasoned & juicy. The fries were delicious. They were crispy and also perfectly seasoned. I could have eaten a whole plate of just the fries alone. I ordered a cocktail to complement my meal, the Sweetest Thing. It was bright, crisp & a perfect drink for my food. As for Customer Service, Our server was courteous & attentive & knowledgeable about any menu changes we needed to be aware of. Also of note for me was that I had a reservation I needed to change to an earlier time slot & the staff was able to accommodate my request expediently. I also appreciated the fact that they informed me in advance that they were still on the Lunch menu & not dinner as my initial reservations had requested. I find that type of honesty & transparency refreshing & is definitely one of the reasons I will ALWAYS be a loyal Lillie Pearl customer.

On to the meat and potatoes: Got seated quickly (had a res). Server (Caleb) was attentive, but not overbearing which was nice. Helped me out with ordering the brussel sprouts, suggesting them as a side instead of the appetizer (since it was just me) which was cool. Food: Phenomenal. Ordered the braised short ribs with a side of fried brussel sprouts. Short ribs were meaty, super tender, flavorful and plentiful. Served over mashed potatoes. With a (large) side of really good collard greens. The brussel sprouts were different from any other brussel sprout I've ever had. Very much had a "kung pao chicken" vibe to them (that's what Caleb called it, and he was right). Really really good. Only downmark is on the banana pudding. It was "good" don't get me wrong.....but it was super sweet and didn't have any real bananas or Nilla wafers in it. I would have been happy if the serving was 1/2 the size it was (because it was so sweet, couldn't eat the whole thing). Just came off as overly commercial. All in all a great meal, and a great start to a Saturday evening.

We booked a reservation and that seemed like a good idea, as it was quite full inside. We were seated in a corner booth in their dining room, directly across from the expansive wrap-around bar area. I noticed a cute little fireplace in the dining room too. All around, the vibe was perfect for a chill dinner. I ordered the Abita root beer ($5) to drink, which is always a good choice. One of my friends ordered a Sangria, which looked lovely, and she said it was good. I'd consider ordering that in the future. For food, I started with a small ceasar salad ($5). I loved the dressing on it so much, I wish I could've bottled it up! I would return JUST for that dressing. One of my friends ordered it for her meal and added salmon, and she also liked it. Another friend ordered the spinach salad and *loved* it. I ordered the blackened mahi with pimento grits and brussel sprouts for my entree ($30), the brussels subbed for the broccoli that originally came with the dish. Everything on the dish was delightful, and my leftovers warmed up well the next day too. We each ordered a different chocolate dessert, including the chocolate peanut butter pie, the chocolate pot de creme, and (myself) the brownie sundae. We all enjoyed them quite a bit. Despite that, this ended up being one of the slowest breakfast experiences we've had. The "Gooey" "tear and share" item was nearly burnt and, ironically, very difficult to tear and share, even with a knife. Coffee was brought out promptly, which we appreciated, but it wasn't refilled until we were almost completely finished with the meal. I had just a couple bites left before finally getting a refill. Food overall was just okay. The Huevos Rancheros were fine but missing jalapeños, and my wife's Benedict was decent but had lite hollandaise sauce compared all the Benedict's we've had. For the price, this place doesn't deliver the level of quality or service you'd expect. Adding an automatic 20% tip on top of that just made the experience more frustrating, especially since the service felt in line with what you often see at places that auto-gratuity.
