First impression walking in, is that the design and decor was nicely done and well thought out for the space. The aesthetics feel mature and sophisticated, with a very cute space that looked perfect for larger and/or private parties. The paper menus (with stains on them) were unpleasant to see, but aside from that, the food and drink options offered looked good. The food however, was a huge miss and left me sorely disappointed. The lamb chops I ordered were not at all comparable or consistent with other pictures and reviews seen. The 3 lamb chops served were so tiny, while the portion of eggs and what I assume were home fried potatoes took over the plate. The potatoes were diced so small and fried that it was just crunchy, no flavor, and no actual potato to taste. Not sure why the chef or staff felt comfortable serving such a dish. Literally, one bite per lamb chop because they were so small - see pictures. For the price, I would expect better quality and presentation overall. I also ordered the mussels and an old fashioned (up charged for bourbon other than Jim Bean), which tasted good but was not a stand out experience.

I don't always order steak here because their stuffed chicken is so good. It's one of my favorite dishes on the menu. I'm also a huge fan of the mac and cheese, and honestly, I've yet to order anything that disappointed me. If you do go for a steak, it's usually seasoned well, flavorful, and cooked correctly. The drinks are another reason I keep coming back. Their bartenders know what they're doing, and every cocktail I've tried has been excellent. At this point, I'm officially becoming a regular. One of my favorite times to visit is during happy hour. The prices are more affordable, and I'll usually order a Caesar salad, mac and cheese, and a cocktail. It's one of the best happy hour spots if you're looking for a more upscale experience without paying full dinner prices. The atmosphere is exactly what I want from a steakhouse. It has the feel of a classic luxury hotel with warm lighting, comfortable seating, and enough space between the tables that you don't feel like you're dining with the people next to you. The service is consistently excellent, the location is convenient, and the overall experience always feels polished. Overall, I'd give Ruth's Chris a 9.5/10. Great food, great drinks, excellent service, and an atmosphere that keeps me coming back. It's one of the few restaurants in Richmond where I know I'm going to leave happy every time.

Very intimate setting, and hostess was welcoming. Service, however, was extremely disappointing. We were greeted initially, but as the night went on, the service went downhill. My husband asked for lemons for his water a total of 4 times, and we finally received them AFTER we had finished our meal. His water glass also remained empty for 3/4 of our meal, after asking for a refill twice. It still took 10 minutes to get him water. I had a Coke - never was asked if I wanted a refill. Food was disappointing. I ordered the filet cooked medium, and it came back black and blue. My husband ordered the cowboy ribeye cooked medium rare +, and it came back almost raw. We both sent them back, and had to repeat this process over again, as mine was still black and blue. They cooked my same filet 3 times, so it came back nearly in pieces and the outside was completely charred. Very disappointed in management also. We have dined at many nice steak houses, and even several Ruth's Chris locations, and we have never experienced this terrible of service. We are always down to pay extra for a nice meal -- we would never ask for anything to be comped. But a fresh steak after having to send it back twice would've been appreciated. We eventually decided on no dessert, we just wanted to leave. So we ask for the check, and it took at least 20 minutes to receive that. Meanwhile, our server is serving drinks to several surrounding tables. This was overall a terrible experience. We will not be returning. This is my first review on yelp, as I and my husband are not ones to complain about restaurants. But seeing we just spent a pretty penny for VERY disappointing service and food, wanted to save someone else the trouble.

Their table bread was outstanding! Very soft and perfectly baked! Their starter brussels were very nice... perfectly made brussels and a tasty combo with lardon. I opted for their blackened mahi with a side salad and spinach. The spinach was by far the best thing on that plate... the salad was overloaded with red onions, and I love red onions, but not this many, cut this large on a small salad. The mahi was soooo dry and overcooked, I literally only 4 bites. The funny thing is since I didn't eat it, when the server took it, I kind of expected her to ask about it, but she never did. This tells me that there's very poor training here for their staff, both back of house and front of house. The manager on duty was very nice, friendly, and helpful. I didn't complain about the fish; frankly, this is a seafood joint, they need to execute right on something so simple and it's not an oddity that mine was messed up... another coworker got the mahi too and he told me later that night how horrible, dry, and overcooked his was too. But I will say, those that got rockfish in our group love it and it looked spot-on. I rarely visit this area, so I'll definitely not be coming back. But when I do visit the area I prefer to have a better experience. Disappointed since this place was suggested by a couple of people I trust when it comes to a good food experience.

There are plenty of seating, indoor and outside. Service was nice and attentive, and the food came out quickly. Their menu had a lot of different offerings from burgers, to pizza, to entrees. FOOD: ~Sticky Ribs (4.5/5): actually fall off the bone tender! The sauce was tasty. Only thing was the ends were a little too burnt, but it wasn't inedible - gave that nice char taste. ~Italian Grinder (5/5): Typical italian sandwich, but the bread was so good. The roasted peppers added a nice kick, and the sauce was yummy. ~Fries (5/5): love battered fries! And they were seasoned really well ~Catfish and grits (4/5): the grits were wonderful consistency. Catfish was fried really well and was extremely tender. The sauce was so flavorful, but it was very heavy. At first I was worried about the huge chunks of celery, but thankfully, it didn't have that strong celery flavor and added a nice crunch. A really solid meal, especially for a golf course restaurant!
