Tried out Torch, and overall, it was a nice experience! To start, we ordered the spinach dip and mumbo wings as shareables. They were okay. For cocktails, we went with the Eight-04 and Jax Ward, both well-crafted and enjoyable. The highlight of the drinks was the complimentary mango shooters, which came with a fun presentation and tasted amazing! For entrees, I initially wanted the French style pork chop, but our server let us know they were sold out. Instead, I opted for the salmon with broccolini and a side of lobster mash, and it turned out to be a great choice. Everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. We also ordered the Louisiana gumbo, which had a beautiful presentation, but it was slightly cold when served. However, as soon as we mentioned it, the staff handled it right away and quickly brought back a steaming-hot dish, which I appreciated. Beyond the food, the restaurant's decor was stylish and well thought out, adding to the overall atmosphere. Service was attentive and accommodating, which made for a great experience. I'd definitely come back to try more!

Looking at the outside, very beige and colonial, you would not expect to walk into the vibe-iest (made that up) spot in Midlothian. The bar is gorgeous - that's the first thing I noticed. The place just feels warm, like you know you're gonna have a good time. The bar is fully stocked - definitely rum heavy but they have everything. I had the honor of meeting the co-owners Greg and his wife - they were super friendly, welcoming and informative. They are also super proud of the space and thy should be. That was my impression within the first 5 minutes. I had not even sat down yet! I was there with friends and we opted to sit at the bar. The drink menu is well laid out and has a variety of options including food. Because I always trust my bartender I took the risk of getting the bartenders choice which really provides a curated experience - just tell them what you don't like and let them do their thing! You'll be amazed. I also have to rave about our bartender Julia! Drinks were amazing every time! To be fair... the whole staff was really impressive. Julia really went above and beyond finding me a charger for my phone... that's the only reason I don't have more pictures to share (I was on 4%). Julia really saved the day!

We arrived on a Saturday evening and there were two spots left at the bar, along with two tables and their entire rail seating area. I was surprised that they weren't busier, but it made for a more laid-back environment. We were greeted by the bartender (Q?) and he provided us menus right away! I ordered an Espresso Martini and we tried some of the Aloha Fries (which were just OK - they needed salt and the sauce it was served with wasn't very good.. but it gave us something to munch on). The Espresso Martini was fine but the real star of the show was the Caipirinha I received. It was very good although the bartender shook it and didn't serve it with the lime wedges, but the flavor was still very good. The ambiance is very relaxed and sexy. We definitely needed a spot like this in our area! We'll be back.

Pork and shrimp dumplings and an amazing chestnut bisque were our first course. Both were outstanding - so very flavorful. My husband and I both had the pork chop and loved it. It was so moist and the accompanying polenta with slaw were excellent. The carrot cake for dessert took our breath away - unique, moist, heavenly. The service was excellent and the staff were clearly proud of the product. Congratulations, Chef - a beautiful dinner! We'll be back!

We discovered this place through a Facebook group we belong to that features Richmond restaurants…read more When I read the menu online I was super excited to see elevated, upscale food in the Midlothian area (usually only found downtown or in the fan) The restaurant is beautiful and comfortable-very pleasing aesthetically . Many nice touches like pieces of slate for your silverware to rest, things beautifully presented (the dumplings for example which come in a bowl over which broth is poured tableside). The service was great. The wine selection and cocktails also really nice. Charcuterie and salmon tartare appetizers were really nicely done. My issue with the experience is cold food. The chestnut soup which was probably really yummy if it was hot, was served barely lukewarm. Soup of all things, especially in a high end chef run restaurant should be piping hot. Same with the dumpling broth- barely warm. The filet dish, served with stacked au gratin potatoes and turnips, also cold. The filet itself was cooked nicely to temperature but the potato was cold, the very scant sauce on the plate was cold, as was the turnip. In contrast to the 1870 restaurant a short ways away where the au gratin potatoes are served in a crock, piping hot, cheese bubbly and brown on top, the potatoes here at MCK were squares cut from a larger casserole and placed on the plate- not cheesy, not hot. Such a shame for the treatment of a gratin potato which should be decadently cheesy and hot. The rockfish was the best dish, served warmer than the rest of the dishes, and with a lovely amount of tasty sauce (unlike the minimal sauce served on the filet dish). Everything also desperately needed salt, which again for a chef run restaurant is a big faux pas. Chefs know that salting your dishes is the key to flavor. Overall the place has potential for a higher end upscale experience in the mall area, but attention to serving properly seasoned, hot food would quickly move the experience from 3 to 5 stars.

I do want to be honest I was a little impatient at first because our food took almost an hour, which I understand may have been due to a party. I also came specifically for the lamb chops, and the first order was overcooked. However, I couldn't stay upset because the service was truly immaculate. My server was incredibly sweet, patient, and attentive the entire time. I also want to give a special thank you to the manager who was on duty tonight. The way you handled the situation and made sure everything was corrected did not go unnoticed. I truly appreciate the care and professionalism. The second order of lamb chops came out PHENOMENAL. They are my favorite dish, and whoever prepared them the second time did an amazing job seriously, well done! My sides came out perfect the first time, and everything paired so well with my spicy strawberry margaritas. I'll definitely be calling tomorrow to personally thank everyone because the way this was handled really turned the experience around.

This used to be a place where you'd have to wait for a table every time, but now the restaurant is half empty and I see why! When I was ordering my food our server was slightly rude & I was taken aback (but you never want someone to spit in your food so I ignored it lol). As I was ordering my food she repeated my wing order to me as she was typing it in, but she did not acknowledge the fact that I asked for all flats so I said all flats again & her response was an "I heard" under her breath which others at my table noticed the rudeness associated with it as well. The wings visibly looked different but fine, however once I started moving them around, I noticed they were dry & chewy like they were over-fried, but normally when I get them they are moist with a slight char from being grilled even tough they are dry rubbed. The loaded baked potato I was a shock to me..a lot more cheese than potato and it was cold. I'm simply very unsatisfied. I took my food home with me & ended up just throwing it all away. They've still got the best blue cheese though, hope that doesn't change! I've got lots of points to use so I'm going to just try a different location & pray. My two times at Short Pump have been better than the last six-eight months at Midlo.

There are plenty of seating, indoor and outside. Service was nice and attentive, and the food came out quickly. Their menu had a lot of different offerings from burgers, to pizza, to entrees. FOOD: ~Sticky Ribs (4.5/5): actually fall off the bone tender! The sauce was tasty. Only thing was the ends were a little too burnt, but it wasn't inedible - gave that nice char taste. ~Italian Grinder (5/5): Typical italian sandwich, but the bread was so good. The roasted peppers added a nice kick, and the sauce was yummy. ~Fries (5/5): love battered fries! And they were seasoned really well ~Catfish and grits (4/5): the grits were wonderful consistency. Catfish was fried really well and was extremely tender. The sauce was so flavorful, but it was very heavy. At first I was worried about the huge chunks of celery, but thankfully, it didn't have that strong celery flavor and added a nice crunch. A really solid meal, especially for a golf course restaurant!
