Had the best time at sidecar last night! I wasn't sure of what to expect and was pleasantly surprised at what was behind the doors of Sidecar. Looking at the outside, very beige and colonial, you would not expect to walk into the vibe-iest (made that up) spot in Midlothian. The bar is gorgeous - that's the first thing I noticed. The place just feels warm, like you know you're gonna have a good time. The bar is fully stocked - definitely rum heavy but they have everything. I had the honor of meeting the co-owners Greg and his wife - they were super friendly, welcoming and informative. They are also super proud of the space and thy should be. That was my impression within the first 5 minutes. I had not even sat down yet! I was there with friends and we opted to sit at the bar. The drink menu is well laid out and has a variety of options including food. Because I always trust my bartender I took the risk of getting the bartenders choice which really provides a curated experience - just tell them what you don't like and let them do their thing! You'll be amazed. I also have to rave about our bartender Julia! Drinks were amazing every time! To be fair... the whole staff was really impressive. Julia really went above and beyond finding me a charger for my phone... that's the only reason I don't have more pictures to share (I was on 4%). Julia really saved the day! read more

I was very pleasantly surprised by this swanky rum bar and cocktail lounge. I had previously heard mixed reviews and concerns about their cocktails - but any bar that can make a delicious Caipirinha the correct way (mostly) is OK in my book! We arrived on a Saturday evening and there were two spots left at the bar, along with two tables and their entire rail seating area. I was surprised that they weren't busier, but it made for a more laid-back environment. We were greeted by the bartender (Q?) and he provided us menus right away! I ordered an Espresso Martini and we tried some of the Aloha Fries (which were just OK - they needed salt and the sauce it was served with wasn't very good.. but it gave us something to munch on). The Espresso Martini was fine but the real star of the show was the Caipirinha I received. It was very good although the bartender shook it and didn't serve it with the lime wedges, but the flavor was still very good. The ambiance is very relaxed and sexy. We definitely needed a spot like this in our area! We'll be back. read more

If you are in the mood for a rum based cocktail then this is definitely a place you should try! Nestled in chesterfield county! Sidecar is definitely an experience worth having. I will say in the two times that I've been the service is a tad slow, so don't go if you are in a rush. The overall ambiance is very inviting. We recently went for the holiday cocktails and the lounge was decorated for Christmas so it was a very festive space. This is the ideal first date spot if you're looking for an intimate space to chat. They offer a variety of appetizers such as lumpia and fries. read more

Went to Sidecar for my husbands 30th birthday. Although we were the only people in there at 6pm on a Wednesday, the atmosphere was awesome. Beautiful space with great decor. Bar was almost full by the time we left around 7pm. Service was great, our bartenders was so attentive and chatted with us about the area and the history of the bar after its opening in February! We ordered a few different cocktails, each one more delicious than the last. And their seasoned pretzels are seriously AMAZING. Highly recommend for special occasions or a casual drink with friends. Excited to try more of their food next time we visit. read more

I should start by saying my partner and I did not order any rum drinks on this visit and I would like to return to try some since this is what they are known for. I'd also love to return to try the food. We came on a weeknight for some date night fun! This place is kind of far from us, so it was cool to visit something outside of our neighborhood. I ordered the French 95 and he got the Singapore Sling. The more he orders them, the more he realizes that every place seems to do a Singapore Sling differently. He wasn't too crazy about this drink. My drink was strong if you like that! If you're looking for a spot to get incredible Yelp photos, this is the place for you! They also have great service. We had planned to sit at the bar, but there was a customer who was a bit too loud. We ended up getting a cute booth. We weren't crazy about the music that was playing (reminiscent of CVS bangers). I felt like the ambience would've been appreciated more with different songs. I still would love to return to see what they're known for (rum)! read more

Sidecar Cocktail Lounge is giving vintage Miami vibes with beautiful decor, island music and rum forward cocktails as well as your favorite traditional drinks. Sidecar also offers a light food menu of delicious appetizers as well. I ordered the jerk chicken satay skewers and they were yummy but I could live without the mango sauce they put on them. I also ordered the shrimp cocktail which was a very different take on the dish and I enjoyed it. For drinks I ordered the Blue Hawaiian and the 1937 Cobra Fang cocktails which both were very refreshing and tasty. Sidecar definitely has a new customer in me and I can't wait to go back and try the rum flight! Honorable mention goes to the purse hooks under the bar and the beautiful restroom! If you like rum, this place will be your jam!!! It has great atmosphere and is definitely unique. Heads up, this is a happy hour/cocktails place and not a place for dinner. The appetizers offer something to munch on while you drink, but don't count on being able to get a dinner experience. The food didn't wow me and I'm not sure I'd plan to eat them again, but the drinks were unique and made the experience enjoyable! It's a good place to go if you are looking for a drink and planning to head somewhere for dinner afterwards. read more

Great drinks and nice bar staff. Wife and I have stopped in here a few times after dinners out and it's a nice vibe for a nightcap (or two).

What a great environment! I accidentally forgot to take any pictures, but it really was great. we went to dinner as a family at toast and then walked over to sidecar. The staff was amazing. They were very helpful and suggestions on what to order. And you can tell that the employees and customers have a great relationship. The decorations are great, the music is great, and So are the drinks. They are a little stronger than I'm used to, but overall we had a great time. It was my mother-in-law's birthday and they even gave her a free drink. I don't live in Midlothian and I don't go out often, but I know the next time that I do, I'll be sure to stop by. read more

Gorgeous little cocktail lounge. Great ambiance and absolutely stellar service! Had a little surprise party for a friend there. The staff were welcoming and the table was already ready with waters and menus when I arrived. All of the food we ordered was at least a 7/10 or better. Definitely get the pretzels with coconut and pineapple with white Choco chips. So decadent! We also enjoyed the lumpia (not greasy and so tasty), French fries, pork and mahi tacos as well as a burger. All were served hot and fresh, and cooked to perfection. The burger was exceptional, 10/10. The server was readily available and met our every need while the manager/bartender (sorry terrible with names) was gracious, personable and downright charming. We had a great time and didn't feel rushed. Enjoyed the cocktails, highly recommend Bird is the WIRD if you like pineapple, the cariño if you prefer tequila, but the tiki john rum daquiri is also fantastic. Will definitely be back. This cute little cocktail bar gives me all the South Beach, Miami vibes and makes me feel like I'm ready to go on vacation. Obviously, with that, a Pina Colada was going to be what I ordered so I could daydream of Caribbean beach vibes! Their take is a bit different as it isn't frozen which I enjoyed. While there, I had a taste of the shrimp fritters which were pretty good. They were out of the Caribbean shrimp cocktail which is something I really wanted to try. I was very hungry so we ended up leaving to grab some "real food". Consider this a pre game spot. This location is great for an evening out with friends for drinks and snacks. For dinner, I'd recommend going else where. Hoping for the future they add more food items. And I'd love to see them all SelvaRey Rum to the menu. Greetings, The experience here was a little underwhelming. It's apparent that the the staff in this establishment tries to make do with the resources and training available to them. For instance, the Rum Punch during HH had two levels of consistency ( they ran out by the pour of the first order--made another concoction--and not only was in different in color and consistency, but also it TASTED different). The restaurant may need to spend time up-crafting it's menu; it's not comparable in the most positive of quality and variety. Changing a few things with regards to the menu would possibly draw in more customers. read more

This place is awesome. We are avid rum drinkers and this little hideaway transports you to the islands. Decor is fun and makes you feel like your at a hotel bar somewhere tropical.
