Oh man, my husband and I frequent Charred and we love it! It is such a hot spot for us. This time we ordered the Brussels and pimento cheese to start, like we always do, because they are full of so much flavor. I especially love to save the cheese for dipping the crust of my pizza in! Which, is a spoiler alert. We ordered the Charred signature pizza and it was, as per the usual, awesome. Wow. This was the first time we've been here and I'm so impressed with the whole experience. It's very laid back. The place is a little dark but it's okay... and our waitress was very nice! The crab dip was some of the best I've ever had. It was lump crab and so cheesy and the bread was very soft! The Brie burger with the bacon jam was pretty good with the sweet potato fries. My friend had the white cheddar mashed potatoes and i had a taste and they were pretty good. They were real potatoes.... Nothing out a box or a bag. Another Great Meal! Totally unplanned we were in the area for something else and realized how close we were and always had a great experience. We tried a couple new items as never let down previously and did not disappoint. My husband had the chicken wings and said was some of the best wings he's ever had and definitely the best he's had in probably 10years!... I tried the jalapeno smashed burger and was delicious!!!... We also did get an order of meatballs which we have had before and they are Amazing!.. Wish they had a full meal portion of these... Our eyes bigger then our stomachs - meatballs came home. Stopped at Charred for dinner. This is my 2nd visit ~ of course I needed to quench my thirst so I started with the blackberry bliss, it was ok but a little tart for my liking. Now for the food: Appetizer: Crab dip of course; and those crostini's I could just eat those ~ 3 1/2 Seared scallops with mushroom risotto, grilled asparagus and black garlic butter 4 They were out of the cut of steak I wanted so I decided on the Charred burger which is a 7oz patty, brioche bun, pimento cheese which was delicious by the way (would definitely get it on my fries), smoked bacon, pickled fresno relish and shredded lettuce. The burger was very flavorful and juicy. How could I forget to mention the fries...crispy and well seasoned 5 Service was great! Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. We sat outside on the patio and it was nice but I had to keep shooing flies away so I think I'll stick to the inside but inside is nice. I love the view of the kitchen. We went with our friends to Charred last night. It was just okay. We started with the brussels sprouts as an appetizer and they were very good. All of us enjoyed them. My husband and I had the ribeye steak and it didn't appear to be seasoned at all. I had come into this dinner craving steak and it didn't really satisfy my craving because it wasn't very good. My friend had the salmon and said it was excellent. Her husband had the smash burger and said it was excellent. Our husbands had the cheesecake which they said was good. My friend had the creme brulee which is her fav thing on the menu. I had the bread pudding which was good but a bit dry. The service was fair. I'm new to the area and have driven past this spot many times, so I finally decided to give it a try. It's clearly popular, as the place was quite busy. The food was delicious, and our waiter was attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. I would have rated this 4 or 5 stars, but I didn't feel the host staff were particularly warm or welcoming--though that may have been due to the crowd. We also weren't asked about seating preference and were placed outside on a very hot day. Unfortunately, the flies were so bad that we ended up swatting them away for most of the meal and eventually decided to take our food home. That said, the food and drinks were excellent, and I'd definitely give it another try under better circumstances. read more

Finally visited Charred and let me tell you this place is so good. I went out Friday night and wasn't super busy. They have an outdoor seating which is where I sat. The ambience here is great. It's kind of a sports bar kind of vibe. The service was amazing and really fast. I only ordered their chicken wings, which was honestly so good. I also got their sweet potato fries which came in such a generous portion. I didn't try any of their drink drinks, but they do have so many good, such a fun list. I will have to visit again to try their other meals and drinks. But this place is definitely worth checking out. read more

Have you ever had a meal you think back on? This one was that for me, I came in town for a wedding and since I'm not from the area I went to my old reliable, TikTok, and tried to find somewhere reputable that I and my date would enjoy. There was patio seating and music playing outside and I felt welcomed from the couples conversing outside and a couple of groups leaving out. Once we came inside we were seated with no wait and after a long drive I just wanted a martini and something good to eat. It didn't take us long to decide on what we wanted and once our food arrived all conversation ceased and nothing was heard but the sounds of us devouring our meals. My date had a giant burger and fries I a steak seasoned to perfection and so tender, I also had a serving of cheesy potatoes and broccolini. By the end of the meal we hugged our way through the door and ended up warming up our leftovers later that night instantly reminded of how delicious our choices were. Walked in with some buddies for brunch, and sat at their beautiful constructed center bar. You can see the fire that they use for the pizza from the kitchen, which provides a nice ambiance. It was a beautiful day so they had the windows open which provided a great cross breeze (also have an outdoor area). I started with the Sparkling Limeade with Gin, which was great for how simple it is (lime, aviation, simple, and soda). Cocktails are a bit on the pricey side, but worth it to have one or two. I got the Chicken Biscuit Sandwich, which was pretty good -- wouldn't call it a classic southern biscuit but perfectly flaky and tasted great. The real star was the Pimento Grits. Dear Lord, the best damn grits I've ever had (my granny is probably cursing me from up on high right now) but I seriously ordered a second batch of them to go. As a vegetarian, I was never excited to visit Charred, which sounds like it would be very barbecue- and meat-heavy. However, I took a visiting friend here on a whim and we actually really enjoyed ourselves! There's a surprising number of vegetarian options on the menu. We shared the brussels sprouts, cornbread, white mushroom arugula pizza, and pimento cheese dip. The pizza was delicious actually, and the brussels sprouts and cornbread were very good. The pimento cheese dip was pretty much fine, nothing mind-blowing. Service was attentive and hospitable, which I appreciated. Honestly would recommend this spot in Midlothian to try once even for vegetarians! But there was a suuuuuper long hair in my drink (i have locs)...... the pic doesn't even do it justice. it was found in the "side car" cocktail, as I was removing the lemon peel, my friend noticed it and i immediately put the peel in my empty drink... thank goodness i didn't drink it, and simply didn't want the peel and decided to take it out first. My gosh, was I nervous, but it was recommended by the waitress. Water is left at the table for your pleasure of refills. Eggs scrambled with cheese (do not recommend) cheese was liquidity and white. Hard pass, egg no flavor at all. French toast, thick slices (the gave me the butt slice, ugh ask for middle slices). It is topped with a jelly like paste and glazed pistachios nuts (swiped to the side) and butter. Lawdy, there was a lot going on for the French toast (if recommended, go back and read it... lesson learned). The bacon was good as well. The home fries (potatoes), mine were sitting in grease, so I didn't eat those either. Oh yeah, a la cart .....$$ to $$$ for two people, nothing is sharable size. Babe had chicken and waffles and cleaned his plate! No complaints. We will be back, they have happy hour.... I want to try their pizza. read more

Went to Charred very late tonight and our waiter, John was just the most kind and friendly server. We had a great meal and were very well taken care of, despite the fact that they were getting very close to closing. This was my second time here. Both times the food has been great. The first time I opted for a burger which was done to perfection. This time I went for classic pizza and wings. The wings were huge, my only complaint would be that while they were thoroughly cooked (& delicious) they weren't crispy. The white chicken pizza went above my expectation. The beer selection both times was somewhere between okay & good. I think every beer drinker could find something quaffable. Beer price to portion size seems a little high but still okay. I'll save a review of the service for later since the first time they were extremely busy and short staffed and this time it was right between lunch and dinner.
