He was very pleased with his choice. He said it was a great balance / mix of ingredients and the crust and cheese were very flavorful. 2 hours later as I write this review he says "That was GOOD Stromboli!" I am really struggling with where the best pizza is. Just when I thought I found the pizza Mecca, I discover a new one. The Detroit trio pepperoni pizza is incredible. I've had sergio's so may times, a few misses but usually a hit on there part. We especially like the mango habanero wings (one time they came w all flats which was not requested) and most recently I had a salad that had a bug living in the lettuce. The salad sat in the fridge overnight & the bug still managed to live through that also. Other than those 2 scenarios they are usually good. We always have a great experience with Sergio's. They tend to get busy so if you are dining in there can sometimes be a wait. The staff is always friendly and have great service. I haven't had a meal here I didn't like. We really enjoy the pizzas. Not everyone does a white pizza. There's is great. It is nice that pizza comes in multiple sizes. Definitely try the Detroit style when you get a chance. We will get meals to go often. I really enjoy how the dinners come with a salad in the side as well as great garlic rolls. Sergio's is the typical family friendly American restaurant that serves what people think of as Italian food. I have to say it's nothing stellar in terms of service, menu, or atmosphere. Having said that it's pretty decent. If you're looking for pizza, spaghetti, or willing to take the chance on fried calamari (they don't always nail this one) then Sergio's is a good choice. Tried this place 15 years ago when first moved to town. I could only remember it being an underwhelming atmosphere with food that didn't impress me enough to want to return. Decided recently to give Sergio's another try; this visit reminding me why I had avoided the place in over a decade. Over baked dry pizza crust, canned mushrooms, cheese steak that was mostly big dry roll with onions and very little meat/cheese. Dark place with school lunchroom vibes, in a mixed-use center that also appears to have been neglected for years. There's so many other local places with much better authentic pizza and Italian food, better service, and more appealing dining room. Great Pizza Spot, got their Mama Mia pizza ( meatballs, ricotta and basil on a pan crust) to go and it was absolutely delicious. It was drizzled with a little hot honey which really elevated the pizza in a way that I haven't experienced. I am a huge fan of pan pizza but find that sometimes the thick crust can be a bit doughy. That was not the case here it had a nice even crunch and softness that one would expect from a pan. Parking was easy as they have a clear designated to go parking spot for people picking up which is nice. The servers were really kind and my food was ready to pick up in the time estimated. I got a side of ranch and vodka sauce for dipping and would definitely reccomend the vodka sauce if you enjoy your pizza extra saucy. The portions were huge and I was able to feed 2 people with enough left overs for the next day. The speciality pizzas can't be customized (you can only remove toppings but not add any) but they were very generous with the toppings, each of my bites had a bit of everything. After seeing a video on social media, I knew I had to come try this place out! I did a pick up order via their website on a Friday night. I did arrive at the restaurant a little bit before my pick up time and it was pretty busy. However, the restaurant looks spacious and I did see that they have a whole bar as well as desserts near the pick up window. While waiting for my food, I was able to sit down at the bench that they use for awaiting parties (def good for groups). We ordered the Renzo special pizza, mozzarella logs, and spinach & artichoke dip. Everything was perfectly hot once I arrived home. The pizza was amazing. I don't think I've ever had a pizza with vodka sauce and I love vodka sauce pasta. I am a sausage girl ... it's my favorite pizza topping and when I tell you, the sausage alone has me ready to go back there to try something else. Also, my fiancé and I shared this pizza and we still had seconds the next day and the pizza reheated very well in the oven .The mozzarella logs were huge and very tasty. And I did love that the Spanish artichoke dip was topped with bacon. I don't think I'd ever had that combination, but it made for a good one. I will say the dip is served with a bread so if you're worried about eating a lot of bread, then maybe opt for another appetizer, but we had chips at home and it was perfect. Genuine welcome on a busy Saturday evening. The staff advised us of a wait so we went to the bar until our table was ready. We were seated sooner than what was estimated and all staff members were friendly. Beer selection is great with a little something for everyone. The same can be said for the food menu. I had made reservations for 18 but then called back on the arrival day to say it would be 20. I was told they could not accomodate 20 so I told her we would keep the number at 18. When we arrived, they had arranged a table in the middle of the restaurant. Everyone started sitting down. One of our folks said that there were not enough seats. After counting, I realized there were 19 attending and not 18. I talked with a woman I think was the manager. I said we had 19, that I counted wrong. I advised her that two people did not join us but went to Vinny's Restaurant. They were the last ones to join us at the movie we went to and I advised they could not be included with our dinner group because the limit was 18. I did not realize that two others were coming who in the beginning said they were not. Then, once they got there, they decided to order take out. But I didn't know that. I asked the same woman if she could provide a chair for the end of table. No, she could not as it was a safety issue. Then I asked if we could put a chair in the line of other chairs at the table as everyone pushed in together and there was room for one more chair. She said no to that too. There were no more chairs. We saw chairs in the back room, but she said we could not have any of them as they were for others. She said we could sit at the bar. There was only one seat. She did not offer any other tables. I never specifically asked that we all be at one table. It could have been several. This is what has happened at other restaurants we have made reservations for. Booth seats came open but she said we could not have them. She did not think of one thing to offer us. She could have suggested that a couple of us be put on the waiting list for a table and let us sit together. My husband talked with the same woman who, once again, said she could not do anything. A waitress told the group she was not taking orders until the problem was solved. My husband and I left along with four other people. We encouraged everyone else to stay. This group of people are seniors from our church. There were several in their 80s and well as one woman who will be 93 in April. The Drunken Grandma, though... let's just say she lived up to the "drunken" part. Everyone who tried it ended up sick. We called the manager the next day, and he basically shrugged like we had just told him the sky was blue. His response: "Well, no one else complained, so everything's fine." She said "Sorry, wrong number." then hung up. If I had an employee answer like that, even if a joke, they would be severely reprimanded or fired. What owner wants the phone to be answered like that? Last night we chose one of our favorite local restaurants, Sergio's with our grandkids. We especially like the deep dish Pepperoni trio pizza. However, the meal turned into a big disappointment. Not only was it slow arriving to our table, it was additionally cold, and completely burnt on the bottom. Had we not waited so long, we should have sent it back, but we chose to endure due to not having the time to wait for another. To the staff, you should never send out something this bad. To the service, you should never complain how tired you are, or show your disdain to your customers for whatever reason. In every booth, table, door, wall space signs that inform you if your bill more than $50, 20% gratuity is automatic. I pay for the service provided and should have turned around left. Did not receive excellent service that equals 20% gratuity. I also found it inappropriate and offensive that team shirts say "legalize marajuana" on them, even worn by manager! Seriously? We visited for a Father's Day Dinner. It was around 3pm when we arrived and they were not very busy. We took that as a great sign to enjoy dinner without a long wait. I was grateful to be informed that they have happy hour every day. Our food concierge was very friendly and patient. The appetizers that we ordered, calamari and spinach dip, seemed to be made to order; but were delivered do the table in a timely manner. The calamari was well seasoned and the marinara sauce tasted freshly made. The spinach dip was a tad soupy for our liking, but the taste was good and paired well when she bread that is provided. Our meals came out in a timely manner. One thing that was disappointing was that the Children's Menu did not have a pizza option on it. Thankfully, the mini NY style pizza was not pricey and that was ordered for one child. The chicken parmigiana received a great reaction upon being tasted by a teenager, so I would take that as a glowing compliment. The lobster and crab ravioli was great. The chicken piccata was said to be okay, but no "wow" factor. Overall it was great. A very laid back atmosphere and reasonable pricing. I hope that never changes. read more

Mixed reviews for my experiences here. I've dined here four times and my first experience was exceptional. Delicious meal, great server and the restaurant was warm, clean and inviting. Overall initially was a new favorite spot. While the meals themselves taste delicious the next three times I ate here the food made me quite ill, once violently. So, we have been repeat customers for Sergio's for a few years. The food was always good, however the staff turn over was evident in the customer service levels (wrong orders, late food....). We have never been served by the same individual in all the times we have eaten there and typically the service has always been mediocre at best. I say this only to 'set the table' for the reason that I elected to leave the restaurant after being added to a short wait list last week. After checking in, I noticed that there had been signs posted stating 'All dine in checks totaling over 50$ will incur a 20% mandatory gratuity'. Now I, typically, tip 25% as a rule and adjust lower for service levels and food quality as appropriate with a tip never dipping below 10%. When that level does decrease, I respectfully make it a point to let the appropriate people know why. This policy takes that ability away from me to reward service levels as appropriate. I would hope that Sergio's would focus on increasing the customer service level as a whole. Happy to discuss this with you directly if desired. read more

I went here with hopes to try their soft serve margarita but apparently they aren't offering it anymore. I tried their watermelon jolly rancher margarita but it was too syrupy. And when I called the day prior the guy told me all drinks & appetizers are half off but in reality only beer & wines are on the happy hour. Sergio's is a great and maybe underrated Italian spot in the Chesterfield/Richmond area. Everything that I tried was great, and what I saw made me want to try more. The wings were cooked just right. Good size, nice and crispy outside, juicy on the inside, with buffalo sauce on the side. The New Orleans Calzone was really good. The serving size and the taste of the bread on it were a 10/10. I would personally do a little less cheese as the ricotta overtook the great flavors within, but I was not upset, and I know a lot of cheese lovers who wouldn't be either. There is a bar, but the environment was still family-friendly as I believe they created a pretty good separation. The service was pretty good too. They gave me a 15-min wait, and I was in a seat in 5. I highly recommend trying this place. Woke up and was craving a pan pizza! An elevated adult version compared to my Pizza Hut teen years. After a quick search, found Sergio's offered what I was looking for. As for the toppings, each was fresh, and slightly crispy, as they should be; full of flavors that'd you expect from peppers and onions. The mozzarella cheese was a generous, ooey-gooey layer that did not disappoint. But what about that sauce? It delivered on flavor, from the fire roasted tomatoes to the basil, to the oregano and garlic. There was nothing lacking in this sauce. It was mouthwatering, and paired so well with the rest of the pizza. With such a delicious dinner behind us, we had no space for dessert.
