However, Kathy guided us with her hands and told us we couldn't sit there, that we had to use the other barstools right next to the other couple. All four seats were available. I've never been told/guided where to sit, at a bar before. She returned to the hostess podium and proceeded to stare us down. The waitress comes to apologize for putting in the appetizer instead of entree and says dessert is on me. The risotto was superb. Alex, the owner, comes over to ask how things are so I tell him the flavor of the scallops is excellent and fresh, I just with they seared better. He could see I was trimming and eating the edge. He thanks me for the input and disappears. Mary Ann, the owner, comes by to ask how things are and I tell her the same thing. She says let me bring you something else like a bowl of pasta. I tell her not a bowl just a saucer so I can taste it. She heads off. Alex returns with two scallops cooked to perfection. A few minutes later Mary Ann returns with a full bowl of bolognese pasta. Later the waitress returns with my apple pie dessert which was outstanding! When the waitress brings the bill she explains the scallops were removed from the check and replaced with the pasta (lower price). The dessert was complimentary. She got a great tip.
