My 11 June 2015 Review: This Panera shop has improved greatly over the past year or so. The front staff are very polite and well meaning. The store was well-stocked with bagels and bread. The tables were clean and not sticky at all. The coffee station still needs more attention to keep it tidy but I think this time it has more to do with messy guests than an inattentive staff. The staff in the kitchen were busy and functioning well as a team. The kitchen was well-organized and looked efficiently run. I am a lot happier with this location than I was when I wrote my original review so it is only fair to update the review. I will come back again to see if the plugs are still plated over and if the WiFi is still spotty. For now, 4/5 stars on 11 June 2015. My original review is below and was 2/5 stars from 2013: Ok, first off, I want to say that I love Panera! Panera is a great place to have a coffee and a bagel, enjoy a great tasting and healthy lunch or dinner, or to pick up great breads and pastries. I like that it is a socially responsible corporation and that it is active in the communities that it resides. Having said that, the 12510 Day St location in Moreno Valley, CA is in desperate need of help. I have visited this location 4 to 6 times in the last few months and every experience is the same. The staff are friendly and professional but the location is very poorly managed. I can say that because it is painfully obvious that the "little things" have gotten away from them, and attention to detail - or the lack there of - is what a good manager brings to a location. So, while the staff is doing their best, their efforts are uncoordinated and lack a systematic approach, so the end results is the continual disappointment to customers. As this is a freeway location (next to the I-60 and I-215), there bottom line may not show that they are in desperate need of help. Specifically, here are the things that occur day in and day out and signal that this is poorly managed location: * The front area is not well stocked, even early in the morning. Whoever is in charge of the night crew - who should be stocking for the morning rush - needs to get re-trained. * The coffee area is always dirty and coffee supplies are always low or missing. This is an every day, throughout the day thing with this location. This is an indication that there most highly traffic area of the store gets no check up every 10 minutes or so. * The location is in deep need of a deep cleaning. It isn't enough to wipe down tables with wet dirty towels. Break out the vacuum cleaner and windex! * The coffee is often extremely bitter. This is an indication that the coffee is not being properly brewed throughout the day. Changing the time on the coffee carafe, does NOT constitute changing the coffee. * The kitchen area - what is visible to the customer - is haphazardly arranged, dirty, and overflowing with stacks of bread (some covered, some not) that are not labeled. When was it baked? Is it 3 hours old or 3 days? * Though the font service people are very nice and helpful, the kitchen staff move without a purpose, seem to "endure" their work, and do not look happy at all. Since they are interacting with customers as well - handing out the food - it doesn't instill me with a lot of confidence as to whether or not their even bother to wash their hands. * This location is not work friendly as they have placed covers over all of their customer use outlets but one. Don't advertise that you are "work friendly" if you then go and make it difficult for people to work here. * The WiFi is very sporadic and kicks you off it every 20-30 minutes even during non-peak hours (mid-morning and mid-afternoon). As I said, I love Panera but it is just sad to see this location erode what Panera - as a corporation - has worked so hard to build over the years. : ( read more

Soooo unprofessional. They legit don't know how to run a business. They had me waiting for a curb side pick up for 40 minutes after the time isle was estimated to be done. I didn't even get my food cuz by the time I went to pick up my husband and go back so I can get down and leave the kids in the car the manager tells me we are having system errors can I have your order again. Love this place! I always order the half sandwich and soup. Although, upon my last visit, I noticed they replaced my baguette with a dinner roll? I didn't like the dinner roll The broccoli cheddar soup is always great, never any complaints. The Napa almond chicken sandwich is still fresh and delightful. I also got a free dessert and ordered the Apple strudel muffin, it was amazing! You must try! Never have a problem with the staff, but beware, there are some weird folks post up in there just for the WiFi. Just eat and go lol read more

I have been enjoying this Panera for a couple of years. I have had a love affair with the broccoli cheddar soup since I first tried it in the early 2000s. Anyway, this location is nice and a perfect place to meet with friends. I went in the morning, for a healthier option than Polly's Pies. I planned on not ordering anything, but then decided to order a bagel and cream cheese. I ordered a Cinnamon Crunch bagel (because the sole Asiago bagel looked depressing), toasted with reduced fat cream cheese. My man ordered a Jalapeno Cheddar and the Steak, Egg, and Cheese on a Mullti-grain bagel thin. When the server brought the food, she mistakenly included the sad Asiago bagel, which she allowed us to keep (yay! love mess-ups like that). The Crunch, Asiago, and Jalapeno were all delicious--and we were able to use a single cream cheese for all 3. All in all, even though the prices are too expensive, Panera is a solid choice on occasion. The Tuesday Bagel (Baker's Dozen) special is great as are the sandwiches and BC soup. Tip- do not Pick 2, just order a whole sandwich on whichever bread you like. I started ordering one of the cheapest option (Sierra Turkey) as a whole sandwich on Asiago focaccia, which makes up for the fact the sandwich does not include cheese! I would give zero stars if I could. I walked in and no one was around, I could hear noise in the back. Someone came up after I stood there a while and that person was on some kind of tasks and completely ignored me. I finally figured out that no one was willing to take my order after I stood at the register for two minutes without acknowledgement. I went to the kiosk and the bagel I wanted, which I could see on the shelf was available, was listed as out of stock... again no one to ask for help. I tried to order another bagel and when selecting cream cheese it told me that they were out of stock of cream cheese too..: hard to believe but I gave up at that point ordered a coffee only and I was frustrated. While placing my order for coffee indicating what I wanted in it, other people walked in were greeted, had questions answered and as I finished my order o e of those persons we're getting rung up by the employee... which was irritating. I asked the employee how I was going to get my order, there are no directions for the self service option I was forced to use, she told me it would take my name from my card... then I looked around until I found a board with names on it and realized what is going on. As I stood there someone else who came up after me walked up and asked for her coffee cup, which was given to her promptly. Mind you I only had a coffee as well. To which they finally gave me... an empty cup after waiting several minutes and being the first and only order on the board for most of that time. She points and tells me that it's out there. We were traveling through town and just tried to come in to grab a bagel and a drink to go. Didn't think it was that complicated. Guess I was wrong. There was no one else in line so we were able to go right up to the register. It was a new employee on her first day. We ordered a large soft drink and an everything bagel with cream cheese. Since it was a to go order, she asked for a name. I gave it and paid the $5.71. After a few minutes, we still hadn't received any part of our order. I went back up to the cashier to get my cup. I went and filled up the soda and continued to wait. While we were waiting, there were employees behind the counter making fun of the new employee simply because she was asking questions. It was her first day. Of course she was asking questions! After a few more minutes of waiting, we watched people behind us getting their orders, including someone who order a baker's dozen. We still hadn't gotten our single bagel. So we went to the area where they were preparing the orders (to the employees who were making fun of the other employee) to ask about our order. It turns out they didn't even have the order on their list. Makes us wonder how we paid for an order that never entered their system. Anyway, they finally decided to prepare our order. In the process, they had to ask three times whether we had cream cheese or not. We got the order and took it to the car. Only to find out that they didn't even put cream cheese on the bagel. They simply gave us a small container. I don't know what their regular procedure is for to go bagels with cream cheese. I guess we just figured if you had to confirm multiple times whether we wanted cream cheese that the cream cheese would actually be on the bagel. I head through Moreno Valley quite often. I don't think we will be stopping at this unprofessional Panera again. read more

Today I was told it was changed and it was still coming out regular Pepsi so I called politely to inform them and received attitude from the manager saying she changed it herself. We've come here for lunch several times and the service was always fine this is the first time we've gone during dinner hours (6pm) and we ordered from the kiosk. I went to look at the bakery items since we ordered 3, and I saw a fly walking all over the scones & muffins (the ones we ordered) so canceled that part of my order. We went to find a table and not one was clean that would seat my family of 4 - and there weren't many people actually inside eating. I figured they just finished a big rush....so we asked for a table to be cleaned. No biggie. When we got our food my salad bowl was covered in crusty stuff. Like they gave me a dirty bowl. Or maybe it wasn't washed & just rinsed. It was covered in leftovers that hardened to the bowl. At that point I was done - combined with the rest of the visit, my appetite was gone. Don't come they only make food once a day but they still accept online orders and tell you your order is ready but when you get there there's no food. They rob you here and tell you to come back the next day if you want your food even if it's 3 pm. I wanted to write a nice review because I've been coming here a lot for the last 4 years. Staff is always quick and friendly. They just added a "Plant Based" option on their menu which holds all the vegetarian options (!!) It's nice not to have to look at every food item and read the ingredients so I appreciate that! Food recommendation: Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich! The single best sandwich I've ever had and it's healthy. Mac & Cheese: Creamy and delicious Candy Cookie: It has the texture of a cake. and it has little m&m like candies. It's my all time favorite cookie and I refuse to share it. This place is usually well-kept and clean but today it was a little off and super crowded but my complaint is I'm standing there. My name is probably the 10th name down on the board being prepared Caucasian heavier sit woman was behind the counter, preparing everyone's food she's proceeding to call everyone's name out loud, when their order is ready and I'm still waiting still waiting. Meanwhile other people are standing there and she's yelling out their names, or for some odd reason when it comes to my name, I must've turned away or was on my phone and I'm standing there, so I look up about two or three minutes later and some guy is walking over to my bag to like look at the name and it's funny how my name wasn't called at all I'm in the bag is just sitting there and she saw me standing there because we made iContact while I was there waiting for my food. She didn't look personable at all. She look like she was frustrated because it was super crowded and like I said, my bag was just sitting there she never called my name so I had to go up there and look I got my bag And I get all the way home and I ask for extra dressing. Well they gave me one extra little container, but all three containers have like a third of dressing in it so literally, I have three containers and you can pour all of these in one container for this whole salad that I purchased, I don't know what that was all about but I'm so over people in the industry that deal with customers if you don't like your damn job quit go home work from your computer read more

Well not the service I was expecting. Thursday night December 7th 6:00pm we stopped to eat at Panera 12510 Day St A-1 Moreno Valley CA 92553. We walked in and were greeted with how can I help you if you have any questions let me know. Perfect greeting in my opinion. It was cold so all I wanted was chicken soup and my husband wanted an hot sandwich and soup. I asked if the soup was good and made there he replied it was good and made at Panera. We payed and went to sit and wait for our food. It took about 45min to get our food which is not my complaint. When we finally received our food the soup was not made at Panera it was canned soup and was cold. I am a cook at a Hospital so I have a thermometer in my purse at all times. I took the temp of the soup it was 71 degrees. Now anyone who works with food and deals with making sure it is safe for the customers to eat knows that it should have been at a minimum of 165 degrees. I took the soup up to ask for it to be heated up. I was told by the man with dark hair to his shoulder that was not restrained back and flinging it back with his hands that there was a microwave under the coffee area and I could heat it up over there. I didn't even respond I was in total shock with his response that I just walked away. I ate none of my soup. My husband ate his sandwich not the soup. We didn't want to get sick from improperly heated food. We payed $41.41 for 1 Bowl of soup, 1 cup of soup and a sandwich. All that was edible to eat was the sandwich which was under par in my opinion. The only meat on the sandwich was 1 very thin slice of beef. I'm not finished with just this review I plan on contacting the Health department about this. I took a photo of the thermometer in my soup as proof for the Health Department. The question I have is why are the temps of food not being taken every 2 hours? How many people have gotten sick from here? It's a matter of time before this ends up with people getting sick like chipotle. read more

Wish I could give this place a negative star, ordered $80 worth of food just for someone to steal it then bring it back, and then the manager wants to say that we could still take that food or wait 30 minutes for them to make us fresh food. Extremely rude cashier. I decided to try this place and probably won't come back. Cashier named Cabot helped me and she was extremely rude i normally don't call people out by first names but she was definitely not happy to be working here. I was greeted with a short clipped "let me know when your ready." Never a hello, welcome or anything. Got side glares out of the corner of her eye while she impatienly scrubbed the shelves. And as I reviewed the menu I politely asked if they by Chance had gluten free options and I was given a every rude short "no" and so I stared at her like wow you really were just rude to me. I get it's a national party day holiday but we all have to adult sometimes and go to work when we don't want too. After finally choosing my order she very quickly told me to go around the corner and my name would be called and I said ok great thank you. And I looked around for the drink fountain to not see it anywhere so I again politely asked where it was and she AGAIN gave me a very short tight lipped response " it's around the corner" I too looked at her like again you were rude to me.
