3.5 Stars This Panera Bread JUST opened on Monday 12/2 and a few of my coworkers and I came in on Wednesday 12/4 for lunch. The location is within the Huntington Oaks plaza where the Acapulco used to be. They've built a Panera Bread, Smash Burger and Chipotle in the new facility. They have both indoor and outdoor seating so you can bring your dog if you eat outside. We got there about 11:45AM and the line is already out the door. (Not surprised... it's always like this with Panera Breads!). Every Panera Bread I've ever gone to has long lines. I still don't get the fascination... Maybe it's the Free WiFi? Do they really like their overpriced sandwiches/salads? Is it their coffee? Oh, pastries!? You can easily spend $10+ for one person. I already knew that before coming so no sticker shock there. So price is not a factor in my review. Well at least for this location, lots of people who work around the area (including myself) was probably checking it out this week. The cashiers were all newbies but there were a lot of registers open to make the line go faster. After we sat down, our food came out fairly quickly so no complaints there. I enjoyed my meal, tables were clean, food came out pretty fast. If you sign up and get a Panera Bread rewards card, you always get free stuff! (free pastry, free coffee or smoothie....) Stopped by to pick up lunch for me and a coworker. Got to work with my two pick2's and they had screwed up one of the sandwiches. The Mediterranean Veg 1/2 sandwich was actually a BLT with turkey. So first panera didnt have cream cheese - called this one closer to my work... ordered bagel pack requested hat it be sliced .. i come in and 26 bagels unsliced ? Sooooooo here we are taking. Extra time to slice 26 bagels... mentioned that the Panera by my house ran out of cream cheese at 747 am and she with her uneeded smirk said "oh it happens".... wow!! NO PANERA in my books moving forward im sure they will still survive but if they dont fix associate's poor attitude, being inept in customer service and inefficiency they will lose a lot of paying customers .... There's a reason this Panera only has three stars, its gross. Why is it so hard to maintain a clean Panera? Oh, maybe the gross guy who works there. Now, I can imagine what your thinking.... Got there with my dad and daughter. Daughter (she's 12) and I tried to order from the kiosk, hey don't judge it was lunch time and hella crowded. So the darn thing is missing a bunch of menu items. This very helpful guy (an employee) comes over to help. Tells us the machines aren't up to date. ( hun, no kidding... Eye roll) so now I get back in line. But hey, I can deal. Did I mention said employee had what looked like a chunk of cheese on his lip? ( gagging) 2. Fast forward... Found a table (dirty, like hadn't been cleaned in days... grime and ew) DD cleans the table and busses it! OK, slide in and my feet are in something under the table.... Omg omg omg...its spilled food. 3. Bathroom....gross, walls and floors ave dirt that's accumulated over several dirty mopping jobs. Floor wax on a dirty floor leaves the gross dried dirty effect. I'm out. If you can't do a decent job in your store I don't want to eat from your kitchen. And they just friggn shot a commercial there? Shame on you Panera. Waited in anticipation for this place to open up. Love the food and the service. try to avoid coming here for lunch during the week if you are limited for time. It can be hard to find a table. There are quite a few people who sit there with their single cup of coffee using the internet and occupying a booth. Panera bread is the perfect spot for an anti-social, technology addicted millennial to loiter all day. Panera bread lets you place your order through a touch screen kiosk instead of talking to a live human being. Why interact with humans when you can interact with a computer screen instead? There are 4 spots in the restaurant where you can plug in your electronic peripherals. There is one large table in the front patio with wall plug access. One small table with wall plug access is located at the front entrance, right next to the ordering kiosks. The two booths in the far back, next to the bathroom, have the most room to stretch out. The wifi is free and relatively fast. So grab a coffee, pastry and sandwich. Then sit in public and shut out the world as if you were alone at home . read more

Not sure what is going on but the last two times that I have done curb pickup I had to wait over 20minutes. They keep taking orders even though they can't manage. This is for the management team, Know your capacity. It's ok to decline orders. Great place to grab a bite to eat or to sit for hours. Panera is my go to place to study for hours because I can have breakfast, lunch, and dinner here without feeling like I'm getting kicked out. I love their Asiago bagel, Thai chicken salad, roasted turkey artichoke panini, creamy tomato soup, and Mac and cheese. The customer service here is great too. We also used their catering services here and they were very thorough with providing cups for coffee carriers, nice portions of cold sandwiches, and a good variety of breakfast pastries. I've been to this Panera Bread a few times when I've passed through Monrovia. This time I had a few rewards that I needed to use so I used the self service ipads at the front of the restaurant because the lines were kind of long. At first I thought this was a great idea since the line was long, but then it went downhill from there. I was able to log into my account totally fine and it was easy to redeem the free pastry I had. The thing that irked me was I was prompted to go wait at the pick up area. The gentleman that was expediting and calling out the orders would call everybody else (those who must have ordered at the register) by their first name. When it came to me, I didn't realize he was calling me by my last name so I never responded. After a while he realized I was waiting for food, he asks me if I needed any help with anything. I told him that I was waiting for my pastry, and then in a very sarcastic manner (at least that was my interpretation) he was like "oh, I've been calling you for a while." He was totally right since I did hear him call my last name but it's also a common name as well. It's not every day I go by my last name, and on the receipt it had my first initial too which could have helped me identify that he was calling out for me. Just a bit of advice if you try to beat the lines and you're waiting there to pick up your order. Other than the snafu, everything else was great. The beverage bar is elaborate and has a lot of different iced tea options. The usual location I go to doesn't have these 4-5 options so it was a breath of fresh air. I never stop to get coffee here but because of T-Mobile Tuesdays, i decided to use my 3 months free coffee offer. So glad i did. I must say it was a very pleasant experience. Kelly has to be on e of the sweetest young ladies i have ever dealt with. She helped me figure out how to load the offer, since i am new to T-Mobile and explained how it works. I went again a few days later and she was also working, to my luck. She remembered me and greeted me with a smile. She also gave me suggestions on future pastries i will order. I've never really visited Panera Bread until recently but omg I've been missing out my whole life! FCK starbucks as a studying spot, it's all about PANERA BREAD! You know how everyone and their moms love to go to Starbucks to study because it's such a hipster thing to do? They bust out their pretty looking MacBooks and sip on their latte as they try to study while they share a dirty, overcrowded table with a stranger. Usually people are coming in and out of Starbucks store and its SUCH A DISTRACTION but we don't know any better so we study at Starbucks. But why must you torture yourself when you have Panera Bread nearby?! +Honestly, Panera Bread is a game changer when I need a place to study. I went to Panera couple weekends ago on Saturday at 9AM and studied there til' 3PM on 1 iced tea, 1 hot tea, and 1 blueberry muffin. Not one employee made a face or made me feel like I over welcomed my stay. Thanks Panera staff! :) +Besides lunch rush hour, Panera has plenty of seatings. Most of the outlet areas are next to huge table that can seat 4 people so students and studying pals, please be respectful and move out of those tables when there's a group of 4 looking for a table. But besides that, you will have no problem at all snagging a table for yourself to study and use your laptop. +Did I mention their teas are bomb? I usually drink unsweetened iced teas and I really like their acai, blueberry, blackberry tea that's unsweetened. Highly recommend! I also like their huge selection for their hot tea bags. I usually opt for their honey, ginseng green tea! +I also love that Panera bread has reward system. The reward system is free to sign up and if you make few visits to Panera, they place free rewards in your account that you can enjoy during your next trip like free coffee/hot tea. Panera's also been having promotion of free bagel every day of the month the past couple of times, which is available for dine-in or pick up. Love Panera for giving out these free perks! +I also love how Panera bread has self-serve kiosk register along with actual register. Our order came fairly quickly, but was missing 80% of what we ordered. Kind of sucks, we had a rough week, and this is relatively expensive, our dinner was ruined. I don't think that it would ever pass the health department temperature regulations. Hubby had to eat for them to make coffee. Hot food should be hot, cold food cold. Bummed.... the service at this location hasn't been the same in awhile. Today was the straw that did it, I'll unlikely be going to this one after I see the trend of careless order handling and no more "thanks you"s after you pay (customer service is a huge deal for me). My egg white avocado breakfast sandwich was so poorly assembled it all fell apart when I opened it. One large chunk of avocado toppled out of the wrapping and the egg was in pieces. Luckily I had a fork for my lunch so it didn't rain on my morning but I had looked forward to my chai latte only to be really disappointed to discover my cup was only half full (picture to show). When I picked up my cup it was feeling light but I thought ok it's just me and I'll wait for the foam to settle. This is what I ended up with. I'm never one to complain about the cost of items but if I'm spending 4 dollars on a latte I'd expect to get my money's worth. This was literally half. My experiences with this location have not been the best for awhile but I won't bump them down lower than 3 stars because it was my morning go to when I was pregnant a few months back and at that time I had no complaints or issues. I generally try to avoid chain restaurants, but every so often my daughter and I feel like getting lunch at Panera because it is quick and convenient. This time I ordered half of a Cuban panini and half a Greek salad. Not one of my favorite Cuban sandwiches -- it tasted sort of sweet, and I don't like sweet. The Greek salad was loaded with feta and red onion. Wish it had a few more kalamata olives. The dressing was good and not too heavy. Daughter ordered turkey avocado sandwich. They weren't overly generous with the avocado. The Caesar salad was overly loaded with croutons. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of specialty iced teas and juices. Blood orange lemonade looked tempting but I don't like sweet. I probably should have tasted it though. Anyway, for a chain restaurant, Panera is pretty good and has decent healthy choices along with some darn good looking desserts and bread. read more

I picked up my item from the girl at the counter. Made it home and an item was missing. They scribbled it ran out on my receipt. The girl at the counter said have a nice day she could have told me my item was out of stock. I would have settled for another item or a refund since I paid through the app. There is a statement at the bottom of the receipt that says Accuracy Matters your order should be correct every time but I will double check from now on just in case. read more

I'm a great fan of Panera and frequent Panera often, but I don't often go to this particular location. I was expecting an experience on par with the one I usually receive at other locations. However, this time it was disappointing. I ordered a whole caesar salad with chicken and half an arugula steak salad. My brother ordered a tuscan chicken sandwich and chili. Most of the food was on par with expectations but in particular, my salad and my brother's chicken were extremely disappointing. My caesar salad had mostly wilted, slimy greens which was extremely off-putting plus frustrating because it was 11 dollars. Caesar salad is really simple so if its primary ingredient is lacking, it really shows. My brother's chili was extremely bland which was strange for a chili. I don't mind occasional mishaps, but when I expect the sandwiches to be incorrect, that's pretty bad. My boyfriend is lactose intolerant, so he orders his sandwich without cheese. They almost always put cheese on his and take it off of mine. We both worked in the restaurant industry for a long time, so we are patient with mistakes. I'm pretty sad because for over a year I've always ordered take out every Tuesday night and NEVER had an issue with my order until today- I took off without checking the contents of my takeout bag, noting that the employees were different from the usual I see on a weekly basis. I was also the ONLY customer who ordered take out within that 15 minute frame! I got home thinking my bag was kind of small and sure enough the salad of my "Pick- Two" meal wasn't there. So now I'm down a meal, and I'm guessing it's the change of employees. The usual Tuesday employees not only had to change orders, they also had to prepare up to 15 orders at the same time on the take out order board and STILL got my order perfectly. I've been coming to this Panera for a few years now, since I moved into the area. The quality of service has been dropping every time I've come in, but this time it just went too far. I ordered Rapid Pickup online because I was in a rush. When I got to the restaurant, they were out of the coffee I'd ordered. They were also out of hot water for tea and half and half. I asked the three workers who were standing around the cashwrap having a conversation if they could help me out, and I was greeted with an "are you SERIOUSLY asking me for this right now" look. They took the coffee machines to fill them, and didn't come back in time for me to fill my cup. Additionally, my order was incomplete. I checked my bag (which I've learned to do, as they NEVER remember everything) and asked for the item they'd forgotten (a bread bowl). I'll give them credit for apologizing and asking me if I'd like a free pastry, but I'd rather deal with a restaurant that gets things right the first time. I work in a restaurant, so I understand that mistakes get made. I do. But when I'm standing there, seeing more workers than customers, and several things aren't getting done properly (or at all), I just have no patience for that kind of lackluster service. Panera is my go to place for when i need healthy meal for the week. Their pick -2 has fantastic varieties. The salad always has ingredients. But i really like their baguettes .
