    The "chicken" is orange ...

I've eaten Panera's Chicken and Wild Rice soup a hundred times and never once has the soup been brown or the chicken been orange. (Looks like canned salmon) I thought maybe they gave me a different soup by accident. The flavor tastes like it's been thawed and frozen over and over and that it was way over due for the trash can. The rice was complete mush with a baby food consistency. For almost $10 a soup I'm super disappointed. The baguette was also about as hard as a rock. Quality control? (I never write bad reviews but this is to save someone else from disappointment and throwing up)

Food was great. Not the wort pricing and food took quick. There was a variety of songs playing and sticky floors by the soda machines.

I don't leave reviews often, but was so disappointed that I had to. Food was ok (though there was sour cream instead of Greek yogurt on the Mediterranean bowl), and I was supposed to get a baguette with my meal. I got the raggedy piece of bread shown in the photo that looked like someone tore it off with their teeth. Do you not have a knife? Or care about what you're giving to customers? (And it was thrown in the same bag with potato chips, not even wrapped or anything) The photo is the bread straight of the bag, looking it came from someone else's half-eaten meal.

Service was nice, but when we got our broccoli Mac and cheese it was half warm half cold, and I found a piece of plastic in my food from the bag it comes in before they serve it to you. Cinnamon rolls are good.

Panera has been upping the ante on the Turkey BLT. Ordered with focaccia bread this is damn near perfect Well done...will be back despite my terrible review a while back ! Redemption is sweet but steer clear of the signature chicken sandwich !

Soba Noodles in Soy Broth Bowl

I came in for a late lunch. I decided to try their Soba Noodles with Chicken Bowl. Totally the right choice! This dish hit the spot! I enjoyed it so much I even got my white blouse spotted a bit with Soy broth from slurping up the noodles, lol, but that's what laundry is for. FYI, the drops came out in the wash, I sprayed some Listerine on the spots before throwing it the washing machine.

Pick 2...chicken soup and turkey cranberry flatbread

Went to Panera for lunch on Saturday. This one tends to be a bit busy during peak periods, but in this case it was a complete zoo. When you walk in, the order counter is straight ahead, so given the crowd, the line wrapped to the left and there was no staff on hand to manage the line. Additionally, this Panera only recently added their self-service order kiosks, so there was no line, BUT the signage is poor and they foolishly placed it to the right side of the counter which is hard to find unless you know it's there. I did work my way to the order kiosks and ordering was pretty easy, even to customize my meal, although there is no sign to tell one to take a drink cup (found that out when the order was delivered). I ordered a pick-two combo...chicken noodle soup and turkey cranberry flatbread sandwich. The soup was good and the sandwich nicely prepared. I was VERY disappointed to find out that Panera no longer offers baked potato chips which is rather mind-boggling. While the food was good, the restaurant was way too busy and they continue to find ways to pack more seats into a small space. With all the under-supervised children running rampant (a few almost ran into the delivery staff), it's just not worth it. Highly unlikely that Ill be back to this Panera.

You pick two. Caesar salad and low fat chicken noodle soup with a baguette. Around $7

its a panera, nothing bad to say about it. As the dutchess here, you can tell I enjoy it quite well! Its a great healthy quick meal that my husband and I love when we can't figure out what else to eat. I always get the you pick two caesar salad with chicken noodle soup. Its yummy, low cal, and always hits the spot!

'Nuff said. Panera is good. Just not this one.

I love Panera. I only get one same salad every time, but I do love that salad. It is consistently good. Well, not at this particular Panera. Stopped by on my way from one site to another and what a disappointment. My salad was just thrown together. Avocado was not even sliced. Just a half of an avocado. Chicken was sliced but only partially, so I could not even separate it. Tomatoes were frozen. Gross. Common, Panera of Flemington NJ, time to get with the program!

As you can see those are the ripped up pieces of plastic I found in my soup, and the vine I found in my Mac and cheese dish.

Place is always busy but service is good. Tables are quickly cleaned up when someone leaves. Been here several times and always yummy.

Or a buffet that no longer buffets. But pizza is a big part of their menu and a lot of people order it. I can tell you, from sight alone... I wouldn't call it pizza. It's cheese, toppings, and an extremely flat crust that I can only imagine crunches to smithereens. So I went very much with not pizza. Fortunately, the menu goes many other directions. I got a hot chicken sandwich with Cajun fries, basically regular fries with a little seasoning sprinkled on (not baked in). Took a little while to get to us, but once it did, I was impressed with the spice level. This is not for the faint of tongue. The fries were perfectly cooked, but I would say just get plain fries if that's your vibe. I could have upgraded to onion rings or similar, wasn't feeling quite hungry enough for that venture. Verdict: I don't know. It's not a diner. It's not a pizzeria. Definitely seemed kid-friendly. I think my date liked this place more than I did. So again, I'll go with the balance and stick 4 stars on the wall. Could return, not sure what else in Flemington might attract (seems fairly restaurant-barren).

I learned that Basil Bandwagon has been open for 25 years. The year they opened, I was eating cold Pop Tarts while running to catch the school bus at 6:55am. In those days, fat-free was all the rage and considered "healthy" -- never mind all the refined carbs, loads of sugar, and preservatives. These days, I'm a strict vegetarian who is mostly vegan. I cook a lot and eat fresh produce daily. I appreciate that BB offers a healthy alternative to basically all the crap fast food otherwise available in the area. We ordered a wrap from the cafe and decided to eat it there. The seating was a counter with a few bar stools but it was clean if not spacious. My husband and I shared the "Freebird" wrap -- tofu-based mock chicken, sprouts, lettuce, tomato, and vegan mayo. It came with potato chips. Wow, this was so good! Clean tasting, hearty, and delicious. I was so impressed with it that we grabbed a prepackaged wrap from the cold case to take on the plane with us. We also picked up a few other vegan sandwiches which were okay tasting but overall too dense and heavy. Next time, I'll stick with the housemade items. I do find it a little annoying that BB doesn't seem to carry as many vegan items as they do things that are "paleo" and gluten-free. I also find that some of their food items are so outrageously overpriced that you'd be better off hunting around at the local grocery stores instead of purchasing them here. The next time I'm in town, I'll be there to order another yummy item from the cafe. Thanks Basil Bandwagon for catering to us "healthy" folks looking for something tasty and satisfying to fill our bellies.

The restaurant is tucked behind a Walgreen's and proximate to an urgent care on a side street off Rt 31, so that might explain it. We arrived for dinner on a random Thursday. The dining room is large, clean, bright, and had a lot of empty tables, but few patrons. They have a take-out business and it was sort of rainy outside, so that explained it in my head. The server came right away and took our beverage orders (it's a BYOB and I still can't get used to that concept). We ordered our meals after our drinks arrived. I like to keep it simple on a first visit. If you've seen my other reviews, it sorta makes sense. I got the linguine, with mushroom sauce and meatballs. It gives me a chance to see if the pasta is boxed or not, how fresh the ingredients are, the taste of the sauce, and if they can make a decent meatball. The linguine was made in the kitchen from scratch and the mushroom marinara was delicious. The meatballs are amongst the best I've had in the area, including two NYC Little Italys (Manhattan and Bronx). The salad was fresh and crisp and the bread came out warm and delicious. It's a bit of a drive from Clinton, but I am going to try their pizza at my next takeout opportunity.

The inside is quaint, with brick and stucco walls. My wife ordered the penne with broccoli. I ordered the linguini alla vongole (linguini with clams) in white wine sauce. Both entrees came with soup or salad. We both chose salad. They also brought some warm bread to the table with oil for dipping, though the bread did seem a little dry. I prefer my bread to be a bit more stretchy/chewy. We both enjoyed our meals. They were a good portion size, with nothing left to bring home. For dessert, I chose the affogato (special), my wife went with the fudge cake, and both of us had cappuccino. It is a BYOB but there is a liquor store next door if you want a bottle (or two) of wine.
