Great prices & very friendly service. I had the cheesesteak and it was really great! I loved that the bread was so incredibly fresh and the steak also tasted fresh - loved that it wasn't dried out thin slices like I've gotten at other places. Hope this place will continue on for years to come!

My first visit to Theresa's was a quick order to go. For my second visit, we dined in. My to-go order was Theresa's panini. Obviously I enjoyed it, otherwise I wouldn't have returned. For the second visit, my wife ordered the Italian panini while I decided to try the tuna cheddar melt. Both were delicious and just enough to fill us up. Theresa's is a quaint little spot one block away from Main Street. There are about a dozen tables inside and they were nearly at capacity the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.

Breakfast review. We had business in Flemington on Friday. We chose this restaurant and unfortunately we were disappointed. The staff were pleasant and greeted us at the counter. We ordered and sat at a table. We ordered the pancakes and an omelette with potatoes. The pancakes came out burnt on one side and the omelette was terrible. The omelette had barely any vegetables in it and was so well done that I couldn't eat it. Toast was so cold that the butter that was on it didn't melt. I saw that the reviews were good and that is why I chose this restaurant. We must've been there on a very off day. The place was not crowded and it looked to me as if we were the only people they were cooking for at the time.

This restaurant is located on a quiet side road just off of Main St. Flemington. It has plenty of parking in the adjacent lot and a cute little seating area with umbrellas outside. There's plenty of seating indoors as well. The space is very bright with large windows. You place your order at the counter inside. The coffee is self serve but they will bring your food to your table when it's ready. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I got "Bruce's Scrambled Eggs which comes with cream cheese, crumbled bacon and chives. Sounded weird to my friend but it turned out to be delicious. It came with fried potatoes. The portion size was ok for me but might be disappointing to someone with a bigger appetite. The downside to this place is that the interior looks a little run down. It could really use a facelift/freshening up, ESPECIALLY in the bathroom (which is tiny). That would make a huge impact for me and would take rating up a star. However, that doesn't seem to bother people much as they seem to have a very loyal following and they're steadily busy. I'd definitely come back to try other menu items and just to support this local business because the food and staff were great and there aren't many breakfast places in town.

From the greeting, to the service and the menu options we were pleasantly surprised. For us this was a high value choice. The food was superb, the Spanakopita with it's layers of pastry and fresh spinach was wonderful. The roasted eggplant in the Mesakka was easily my wife's favorite item. For us it is a two hour trip to Flemington but we are looking for a reason to bring family and return to the area just to share this experience. A side note, the server, Summer, did a fantastic job making us feel welcome and part of the family. To top everything off we finished our meal with "Cakes in a Can". The owner's wife, Yara, apparently spends hours each day making these attractive and tasty treats. I had the Raspberry and Pistacio. They are right to be very proud of her efforts. I recommend this experience, if you are ever near FLemington and want to enjoy Egyptian and Greek cusine this is the place to go. Thank you for the experience, from Joyce and Bill.

But it's either closed or parking is impossible or the street is overrun with police. Or worse yet - all 3. Last week however, it was open, bumping with people, and there were available spaces. Federales were still patrolling but I was locked in on carbohydrate comfort and thus unbothered. I dipped in for a couple coffees and sweets. It was about 1030 and we were headed to lunch afterwards so I kept it simple. I really wanted the malted latte but called an audible at the last second for a Paloma refresher. I also grabbed a rye (!) chocolate chunk cookie and an apple cake muffin. If we weren't going to lunch I would have ordered the avocado toast. It sounded delicious and while I was there a customer got one and it looked incredible! I really liked the food here - it was understated. I feel like a lot of bakeries hit you with cloying sweetness because bakery but anyone can dump a bunch of sugar in something - AND I ADORE SUGAR. But the restraint shone here really allowed the flavors to shine through and the food didn't sit like bricks in our tums. They're closed on Mondays though so let me pull myself together ;)

There was a line outside the door, but it moved quickly as they had a nice process put in place. The staff was friendly and accommodating as we were ordering. I will describe what I had below. Personal Rosemary Focaccia ($16) - This was very large. I had this with homemade pasta, and it did the job. It was very light and cooked appropriately. The rosemary was definitely tasted on the outer edges. Pistachio Chocolate Almond Croissant ($7.75) - This was solid. It was very flaky and buttery with plenty of the chocolate filling. The chocolate was smooth and not overly heavy. I was hoping for a little better balance with the pistachio but did not taste much even though it was clearly there. B&C Turkey Club ($19) - This sandwich had turkey, thick-cut bacon, mozzarella, lettuce, tomato, and mayo on their country bread. This was made to order. The sandwich was well constructed with great layers. There was just enough mayo where the sandwich was not overly wet or dry. Everything went together nicely, but the country bread was the key. Will I go back? No doubt.

Or a buffet that no longer buffets. But pizza is a big part of their menu and a lot of people order it. I can tell you, from sight alone... I wouldn't call it pizza. It's cheese, toppings, and an extremely flat crust that I can only imagine crunches to smithereens. So I went very much with not pizza. Fortunately, the menu goes many other directions. I got a hot chicken sandwich with Cajun fries, basically regular fries with a little seasoning sprinkled on (not baked in). Took a little while to get to us, but once it did, I was impressed with the spice level. This is not for the faint of tongue. The fries were perfectly cooked, but I would say just get plain fries if that's your vibe. I could have upgraded to onion rings or similar, wasn't feeling quite hungry enough for that venture. Verdict: I don't know. It's not a diner. It's not a pizzeria. Definitely seemed kid-friendly. I think my date liked this place more than I did. So again, I'll go with the balance and stick 4 stars on the wall. Could return, not sure what else in Flemington might attract (seems fairly restaurant-barren).

However, my recent Sunday visit was a vaguely "meh" experience due to some disappointing service. We found out the hard way -- only after being seated, handed menus, and perusing our options -- that they strictly observe their "Breakfast Only" rule on Sundays. I was really craving a sandwich (having already eaten eggs earlier in the day), but when I asked for an accommodation, I got a blunt "No, we can't do that. We only serve breakfast on Sunday." I mentioned I was lactose-intolerant and almost all of the breakfast options (omelets, breakfast burger, etc.) were made with milk or cheese, but our server said the kitchen doesn't like making substitutions. This felt especially draconian considering there was only one other party seated in the restaurant at the time. To make matters worse, once I settled on a two-egg breakfast platter, the server informed me they were out of my first two meat preferences. My dining companion's omelete was served without key ingredients she added (and we were probably charged for). Our server never dropped off a check, so I walked up to the counter to pay after finishing our meal. Our server seemed genuinely surprised when I handed her enough cash to cover what she said our total was.. plus a ~20% tip (which I paid in spite of the service issues because I'm not a barbarian). The food itself was alright once it arrived, but the service just felt disjointed and "off" the entire time. It's a decent enough spot for the basics, but between the total lack of flexibility and the service hiccups, I'll say 2.5 stars rounded down to 2 stars and definitely won't try again next time I'm in Flemington.
