Its success is based on reasonable tasting food for a reasonable price. The pear and Ceasar salads were very good and well orchestrated. The grilled octopus app special with cannellini beans and spinach was very good. The grilled swordfish was a good sized portion. It tasted OK but was not memorable. The mushroom ravioli came with a very watery sauce and were not great. The special lobster ravioli were better, and filled with real pieces of lobster, but the sauce was loose, it lacked seasoning and was not bright or rich in any taste but lobster stock. The premade typical tartufo was the most refreshing dessert. The tiramisu was light and delicious. The limoncello cake seemed premade and the tasty lemon ice overshadowed it. It is a BYOB and they do sell Alba wines in house. The staff is efficient but not very communicative as if they are hoping to not have to answer any questions. With a 20% tip the cost per person (without wine) can be about $70 to $85 per person. The food overall was OK but I wouldn't rush back to experience it again.

I cannot come up with one redeeming quality…read more It makes me sad because I live in Clinton Township and I try very hard to support and promote local businesses but I have an obligation to be honest with the consuming public. I very rarely give a one-star rating but this was richly deserved. First things first. At an outside table, the drinking glasses were placed rim-side down. I don't care how clean you think the tables are, an outdoor table is not sanitary enough for that. There was no bread served either pre-meal or with the meal which is not an absolute must but certainly a nice thing at a predominantly Italian restaurant. We got the chicken parmesan and lasagna, two of the safest things on which you should be able to gauge the quality of a restaurant's abilities. Both were served lukewarm (barely above room temperature) with a barely melted slab of mozzarella plopped on top. The chicken in the parmesan was burnt; not overdone, burnt. It also had some gristly, cartilage bits. The lasagna had so little meat it could have passed for vegetarian. The service was pretty bad as well. I was stung by a bee (my fault for not moving when I noticed an active bee hive near our table) and when my wife went to ask the waiter to help us move tables she practically had to tap him on the shoulder as he was staring intently at his phone and didn't notice her approaching. The food was so bad we opted not to take home the pretty large portions we chose not to eat because they were so bad. Just a terrible experience on every level.

It's such a great local spot, and I don't think enough people realize what it is or how good it's become. My mom and I stopped in for lunch and sat outside on Main Street, which was honestly so lovely. It felt really special to just sit, enjoy a great meal, and be part of the community. We met Mo, who took such great care of us and made the whole experience feel warm and welcoming. We started with the hummus, which was incredibly fresh and smooth, and you could tell everything was made with care. For our mains, we had the lamb chops and the lemon chicken, both of which were delicious. The lamb was tender and perfectly cooked, and the lemon chicken had such a bright, balanced flavor. The potatoes were a standout, roasted and finished in a lemon butter that made them unforgettable. If you haven't been in a while, or didn't realize there's been a change, it's definitely worth stopping in. Main Street businesses could really use the support, and this place is one that deserves it. Go say hi to Mo and give it a try.

But before I go into the food, let me address something I've never seen before on a bill. I ordered a Bourbon mixed with Diet Coke and the $15 charge was broken into three separate charges: $12 for whiskey; $2.50 for "whiskey prep rocks" (adding ice?); and $1.50 for "whiskey prep mixed" (mixing it?). What???? The first proseco served to another diner was outright flat, it was replaced. Meal. I ordered veal scalloppine picata and the meat tasted nothing like veal as it was a tough chew. My wife had the shrimp with risotto and she said the shrimp was ok but risotto was flavorless. Indeed, it's the first time I ever saw almost all the risotto left on the plate. The chicken milanesa someone else ordered came out cold in the first round and properly replaced with a new serving however everyone else's meal had to wait so we could eat together. Our waitress was nice but not very experienced and perhaps a little flustered. Brought out the dinners but hadn't bussed the appetizer plates in advance, It's actually not her job so I think they just lack help. The clams and sausage appetizer was very good. Perhaps the place had a bad night, but frankly for $300 with tip for 4 people was simply not worth it. Glad we tried it but it will likely be a one and done for us.

I can see why this restaurant was chosen. We were a group of 10 people celebrating a Christmas Party. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. The dining room itself was lovely. It was decorated beautifully with Christmas decorations, a large Christmas Tree in the corner. They have a mantle over the fireplace that was lit up and decorated with Christmas lights. What made this room extra special was the gigantic fireplace that had a roaring fire going as we sat and enjoyed our food and each other's company. The setting was traditional and on each wall were framed pictures. I kind of felt like I was in a Southern home. In a separate room was a nice size bar with flatscreen TV's. We started off with cocktails and appetizers. The dishes that were chosen: MUSSELS ALA VINO- I got them in a marinara sauce with garlic crostini for dipping. The mussels were delicious. CALAMARI FRUTTI- fried calamari with capers, black olives, sun dried tomatoes, and caramelized onions. Along with TRADITIONAL FRIED CALAMARI-with MARINARA. Both Calamari' dishes were delicious. MOZZARELLA EN CAROZZA- Served with marinara sauce. These were crunchy and the middle oozed with fresh melted mozzarella. LITTLE NECK CLAMS AND SAUSAGE- Lemon, garlic, herbs, crostini. These clams were sweet and smokey from the sausage. WINGS- (Medium Heat) the wings were crispy and flavorful. For my entree I chose their Special. STUFFED FLOUNDER WITH CRABMEAT-It was light and tasty. It also came with a vegetable risotto, which was really delicious. Other dishes that were chosen were PORK OSSO BUCCO-Vegetable risotto, and pan gravy POLLO PARMIGIANA-Boneless breast of chicken breaded with marinara and melted mozzarella POLLO MILANESE-Boneless breast of chicken pan-fried topped with arugula, onions, tomato, balsamic vinaigrette SALMON-Pan-roasted salmon with pesto sauce, seasonal vegetable saute, roasted potatoes GAMBERI SCAMPI-Jumbo shrimp, lemon, garlic, herbs, over spaghetti PENNE VODKA-Peas, prosciutto, a touch of cream, tomato, and a splash of vodka. We then went on to desserts. TIRAMISU, LEMON SORBET, TARTUFO, ICE CREAM SUNDAE, RED VELVET CAKE. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their dinner and their desserts. It was a very relaxing and peaceful evening. Our server was wonderful and very attentive. Even the owner came over and checked on us. I would definitely return and try some other dishes.
