Really good pizza. It's always solid and always tasty. The other day we had the Salad Pizza which was incredible. The way they put this together is so smart. The crust is very crispy (no bend at all), there's not much tomato sauce, no cheese, the tomatoes and onions are diced perfectly, and there's the right amount of parmesan, oil & vinegar on top. What a difference a river makes! Flemington is just 50 miles yet Viramis pizza features great crust crispy but not hard, the correct amount of toppings in proportions that allow one to taste each ingredient. A few slices were wonderful and they have a nice selection of slices available, and a meatball sub was as the French say, correct. In Philly we know from hoagies/subs and a Philly meatball park hoagie is comparable to the great job viramis does. Nice restaurant with clean tables and dining on the covered patio. Hot, thin crust, old school, just simple great pizza. After living in the area for like 15+ years my family just gave Virami's a try and they are officially in the pie rotation. What I loved: Called in an order and it was ready in less than 15 min. Everyone in was super friendly. I asked for the pie on the well done side and it came out perfect. Private lot so parking was easy peasy. A few table inside. Big menu so everything from pizza to bolis to subs to pasta will need to be tried next time. Just great pizza, what else can I rave about? Manager is awful. Asked for them to put my mozzarella sticks in a metal to go container, not plastic. He just "yes'd" me, said nothing to his staff and served me micro-waved moz sticks in a plastic countainer without even any paper down. Asked if they had cold sauce, because of the common practice to put hot sauce in those little plastics containers. He just got nasty and gave me piping hot sauce. Ordered a specialty pizza, salad and garlic bread which were ready in 15 minutes as promised. The garlic bread was huge and perfectly made. The salad was enough to split between two people and the pizza was great as well. Although I can't speak to the Hawaiian side of the pie, the chicken/bacon/ranch side was packed with ingredients. Some places barely give you chicken or bacon but really there was a generous amount of both. I wish it was more crispy and less doughy but really can't complain. Virami's Pizza gives off an old-school, Jersey Shore pizzeria vibe. Something about the benches outside, the walkway up to the entrance, and wooden benches inside make me feel like it's the middle of July and I'm grabbing a slice or two after spending the day soaking up some sun. On this visit, I decided to go with the tomato slice in addition to my usual plain slice. It looked really good behind the glass countertop and it did not disappoint taste-wise. The tomatoes were juicy, the cheese was melty and plentiful. The slice also had a delicious garlic seasoning. The plain slice tasted like your standard Jersey slice. Just moved into town from MIlford and stopped in to grab a couple of slices after unpacking and this place is solid. I got a slice of funghi and a slice of Chicken Caesar and the bride got a slice of pepperoni. All three were delicious. Crust was perfectly cooked and the toppings fresh. Interesting ideas for Jersey pizza. We had the tomato and garlic pie that had plenty of cheese and could use a bit more seasoning. Gluten free pizza is that typical (I believe frozen) crust many pizza places use for the gluten free pizza. I am not a fan, kinda hard and crumbly. Not much taste. I wish they made their own gluten free crust... my family enjoyed their food but my friend and I each got a gluten free pie and ended up throwing most of them away . I rarely give 5 stars, so I'll explain why Virami's gets the whole shebang. First, it's by far the best pizza in town. My MIL told me to try the salad pizza. I thought she was crazy. She is the "most Italian Mom" I've ever met so I gave it a try. Let's just say I no longer live in Flemington, NJ but I never a miss a chance to eat here when I visit every Christmas! The salad pizza is light and reminds me of eating a hoagie (yes, we call them hoagies). I've recommended this place to anyone who will look at me. They've tried all the different pizzas, meatball hoagies and other great options and always give it a thumbs up. Virami's has been one of Flemington's best pizzeria's for almost two decades. The Illiano family have consistently worked to make their customers happy, ever since I can remember. Not to mention, the food is great. When I was a little kid, I lived on the same street as Virami's, so I went there pretty often. Sometimes, I didn't have quite enough money to pay for all my food, and Gino (the owner/head chef) would just smile and say "Don't worry about it." Those were the days. If you're not in the mood for pizza (although I hope you are, because theirs is great), I highly recommend the Chicken Parm Sub. Virami's makes one of the best I've had anywhere, and believe me, I've had about a hundred different versions of chicken parm. Tiny homegrown pizza joint that I discovered by accident while trying to find the bus stop at Liberty Village and realized I hadn't eaten in a while. Very small parking lot, but the building looks cool, like an old log cabin. The inside is cozy and cramped with an open kitchen. Service was unfriendly and blunt, which was kind of a bummer, but the pizza was pretty good. Garlic knots were alright, for some reason the marinara sauce tasted like cigarettes. I remember that I didn't want to overdo it, or I'd be skipping dinner. So I went with the smaller size steak sandwich, no toppings/sauce/cheese. The portion size was pretty good, there was a fair amount of steak present. For the area, it was a decent sandwich. I saw some comments about the staff before visiting, expecting what I had read. Instead, I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. There are a lot of places to grab something to eat in Flemington.
