Came to visit some friends and they brought us to Luna. They're regulars here and I can see why. This pizza is a bit on the artisan side, but damn these are some good pizzas. Inside it decorated nicely, very welcoming and got a southern Tennessee vibe with the aluminum and green decor. I like it. We tried a bunch of different pizzas and they were all outstanding. The pesto and stromboli were probably my faves but just by a slight margin. The plain pizza was also really good.. A few things to consider in your review.... Food: outstanding, fresh, flavorful. We had meatballs, Caesar Salad, and the American Pizza with pepperoni. Service: where do they find these people. Nobody smiles anymore, except at this place. This must be why other restaurants have quality staffing issues; all the good ones work here. We were greeted by the owner, checked in on by the owner and yet none of that was necessary because our server was so good, you could have sworn she was the owner. This is a new find for me..an artisan pizza place close to home! They use flour and tomatoes imported from Italy. with fresh mozzarella and fresh basil as well. The pie was baked to a very nice crispy finish and overall had a very good taste to it. The salads were very fresh. The owners, Frank and Jeanette put a great deal of care and thought into their pizzas and it shows. The staff consisted of the owners and what looked like other family members who were all very pleasant and friendly. I will be back soon and give an update. For now, this place is very good! The Marinara pie, despite having no cheese was full of flavor with a nice, tangy tomato sauce, delicious garlic, and quality olive oil. This is by far the worst pizza restaurant I have EVER ORDERED FROM. I have a gluten allergy and ordered their gluten free crust. After a 3-hour wait for our pizza (yes, you read that right, 3 HOURS), they delivered a glutinous crust. After thinking that, wow, that was the best gluten-free pizza I have ever eaten, I felt the first slice hit my stomach and was in instant pain. My husband called Luna Restaurant immediately and they said that they had not made any gluten-free crusts for our order. No apology, no offer for a refund, just a "No, we didn't make the pizza the way you requested." DO NOT OFFER A GLUTEN-FREE CRUST IF YOU AREN'T GOING TO TAKE ALLERGEN REQUESTS SERIOUSLY!!! We called GrubHub and they said the restaurant agreed to a full refund for our entire order. Honestly, that isn't enough. No apology directly from the restaurant and I have to go to urgent care if my reaction worsens any more than it has. What a treat to stop for pizza at Luna!! The pies were absolutely delicious. They had traditional pies like Margherita, but, they also had some unique pies which was really fun. I personally liked the Truffle pie. I found out that the flour was imported from Italy. I could tell a difference not only in the taste, but, also because my stomach wasn't as bloated afterwards as it can be from pizza. The owner, Paul, was very personable and really added to the charm of the restaurant (Be sure to ask him about the history of the building - its very interesting). They just redecorated inside and it was such a nice atmosphere. Paul said they are planning on having a nice patio for outdoor dining when the weather gets warmer. While there, we also had the meatballs which were garnished with fresh basil and parmesan. They were so tasty. And the dessert pies were really good, not something I would normally order for a dessert. But, I was glad I did because they were so different.
