I originally learned about this place from my uncle. When I have to bring dessert to a family gathering (Easter, Thanksgiving, etc.), I usually bring something Italian. When we lived in Middlesex, I would trek to Randazzo's at the corner of Route 202 and First Ave in Raritan. After moving to Flemington, I wanted to find someplace closer. When picking up dessert for this past Thanksgiving, I arrived at 8 AM. They were already open. The staff was very friendly, especially considering it was early in the morning of what would be a very busy day, and they were still getting everything ready. They have plates of cookies pre-wrapped and ready to go or you can order a-la-carte. Their tiramisu cake is very good and my aunt really likes their sfogliatelle (also called lobster tails). read more

Wow! This place is a feast for the eyes and the mouth!! The shear variety of Italian cookies and pastries is to be admired! The people coming in are clearly regulars who are well treated by the staff. We had wonderful help with our selection and got canoles and eclairs for a host gift. read more

The worst experience I've had buying a coffee in a very long time! The woman serving us couldn't have been ruder. Asked for a cortado and she said it wasn't Starbucks and lectured us on coffee. She should probably get off her soapbox I've had better from Starbucks. So many flies in the kitchen too! I'd never eat anything from this place. read more

We came in looking for some baked goods for a night with our family, and the woman working the counter could NOT have been ruder. She had a terrible attitude and horrible customer service. I've stopped in for everything from black coffee to lattes, biscotte to a tray of desserts and I've never been anything less than thrilled. This is a very authentic Italian bakery right in the heart of Flemington. If you are having trouble finding them, look for the strip with Staples and Planet Fitness, they are one of the shops between those two giants. There is always plenty of parking in the massive lot, and I've never had to wait long to be helped. Sometimes if I need a pick me up I will stop in just for a hot coffee and it is always wonderful, but I usually never leave without at least a small sweet treat. Definitely try a biscotti with your coffee, I get them often. Other things I love are the cannolis, cookies, their fresh bread... it's all great. Lucky to have them so close by! read more

We have been to their Raritan bakery location many times. We finally had the opportunity to visit their Flemington bakery. We took a break from a local car dealer while have our vehicle serviced and decided to grab an early afternoon Doppio Espresso Macchiato and a Rum Baba w/cream and a Napoleon pastries. The espresso was excellent and pastries real Old school Italian. The female owner was overly nice and friendly and a grandmother was also there tending to customers. We do plan on going back real soon. So should you! read more

My go-to in the area for rainbow cookies and other mouth-watering Italian baked goods. Everything I've tried has been fresh and delicious. The espresso bar is great too--I like pairing my pastry with a double shot. read more

I want to preface this by saying that I have only been here once (Flemington location.) I got a variety of desserts as a weekend treat, since I was in the area and it was highly reviewed. I was disappointed in the cakes and cookies; they tasted stale and lacked richness or flavor. I will say the biscotti were very good. I will need to try this spot out again to fully form my opinion, but I was not impressed. read more

Very good, but not great; all the cookies had the same almond flavoring which made them hard to differentiate one from the other, but they were well cooked. The blueberry muffins tasted like homemade blueberry cake, but needed more blueberries. I must admit that we didn't try the cannolis which everyone says is a must. read more

This is the only authentic Italian bakery in Flemington. The Cannoli cake is exceptional and the Strawberry cake comes in second with a Strawberry cream filling. The whipped Cappuccino is light and refreshing. Happy place to visit for a yummy sweet treat! read more

This used to be a great bakery. Over the last year the quality and and availability of items has decreased. Last night my wife wanted cannolis. The bakery closed at 8PM. I got to the store at 7:54 and I saw the open light lit. When I went to the door, the woman said they were closed. I showed her my phone and she said the cashier was turned off. She then told me next week they're closing at 7PM. Declining quality, poor attitude and irregular hours and closing when they feel like are all reason to avoid this place at all cost read more

Recently picked up a cannoli cake for my son's birthday. In the case it was very simply decorated. I got to talking with owner and when he heard the cake was for a birthday, he took the cake in the back added mini cannoli and cherries all around the cake. That was very special and thoughtful!! I went to this place one time. I walked in, knowing what I wanted, and waited at the counter with not one other customer inside the store. This woman was on the phone ignoring me for a solid 7 minutes. And no, she wasn't on the phone with a customer. She was speaking to some family member about some crap. FINALLY, she got off the phone and rudely stared at me like I was bothering her. I asked for a few different varieties of cookies. They were stale and gross. Never went back again. My loving dad bought me an 8" cookies &cream birthday cake along with some single serve slices (chocolate mouse, red velvet & carrot cake) . Im grateful for the variety they seem to have considering what he brought home, but thats the only upside. All but the chocolate mouse had a disgustingly overpowering coconut flavor. I'm not generally a coconut fan, but certainly not when it's sprung on me in my birthday surprise. The last 3 times I have gone here to get cannolis, they did not have any. These were all different days and times. You are an Italian bakery and you don't have any cannolis? Really? The first instance, I got cookies instead. They tasted stale. Second time I got tiramisu instead which was HORRIBLE...it was just very sweet white cake (not lady fingers) with coffee icing. The third time I left empty handed. Their cases are always filled to the brim (except with cannolis of course) and I doubt there is enough business that their products are being turned over frequently, which would explain the staleness of the cookies. Excellent pastries -- great place to purchase deserts or to stop by for a cup of steaming coffee and a special treat -- but a terrible for the waistline I might add! They had beautiful gingerbread houses available this Christmas as well as marzipan. Hard-working and friendly people at the counters; opens early and closes late enough so that I can stop there on my way to and from work. I recommend it to all my friends. What a find! Great Italian pastries at a very reasonable cost. Much better and less expensive than Randazzo's in Somerville. Unlike many bakeries it stays open until 8:00 pm, allowing those of us who work an opportunity to drop in after dinner to buy desert. Friendly staff. read more

Love this bakery! Sorry Natalia didn't find the cannolis she wanted. Have you tried the lobster tails (pastry)? This bakery does a great business and it could be that they were sold out. If they were that important, Natalia should have ordered them in advance before someone else beat her to them. We just picked up some almond logs, pinnoli cookies, lace cookies and some others on Saturday. They were very fresh. I said "were" because we took 2+ lbs to a friend's home and they disappeared in record time! We have friends that travel from Easton, PA and Westfield, NJ to buy cookies from this Italian bakery. We also have requests from friends in VA and OH to bring them biscotti from this bakery. If the baked goods were as bad as Natalia says, this bakery would not have stayed in business for the past 28 years. There are so few bakeries around any more. That this one continues to do a great business speaks volumes. I think Natalia may have been disappointed that the cannolis were sold out and criticized this bakery unfairly. I will definitely buy from this bakery again. Save me an elephant ear! read more
