Cute vibe and love the variety of products in store. Service could be better. Tried asking about coffee beans but apparently the coffee beans they serve aren't the same ones they sell. The cashier wasn't very helpful at differentiating the differences, just that the bagged Alkemy brand coffee isn't what they actually use to brew coffee. Wow! What a great stop in Flemington. I didn't really check out if there's an event calendar but they must have one. The place is humongous and there's plenty of seating and open space. Simple: First impressions are everything!-- Please treat your patrons like they actually matter to you. In my experience, the way I was treated left me with a poor impression. Rather than have a pissing match , understand this , you catch more flies with honey than you do vinegar and my truth is that your shop lacked customer service and it this primary reason i did not give you my business. Now if you'd like to whine about a person who was honest about what happened (me) and take your precious time to make it seem like your barista actually uttered any words to me, that's your deal. But, if I were you i'd take criticism constructively and train and retrain your staff appropriately but thats just me. read more

Alchemy is a cool and spacious coffee shop with a medieval vibe too it . We were here on a Sunday afternoon to watch a friends band perform. Yes, live music too! The service was great and so was the coffee! The coffee shop stands in the former Stangl Pottery Mill that dates back to the early 1900s. I love old historically buildings. read more

Still a loyal customer here at Alkemy! The staff are lovely, warm, and talented. Some of my latest favorite orders include a Dirty Chai and an Iced Vanilla Maple Latte with Oat Milk. The chai lattes here are to-die for. In terms of food, I have continued to be successfully tempted by the gluten-free coffee cake. I'm also a big fan of the gluten-free vanilla chai muffins, the crustless quiche, and above all, the gluten-free tres leches. The work vibes and music are wonderful, and the selection of local goods available for purchase in the coffee shop make for great gifts. They had a decent live band jamming on rotation all night which added to the vibe Their honey peanut butter coffee was everything I love in a beverage. Any sign of witchy-ness & I'll be there, so of course when visiting Flemington I just had to stop by Alkemy. At first glance, it seems like a small storefront located in the main street. But once you enter, the cafe really opens up and is so unbelievably cute. Tinctures and teas and manifestation books galore, sprawled across the store with a charming dark, brick interior. I can't get enough of the interior, and even found a closed off, hidden nook that is perfect for working on a laptop or reading your favorite book. I'm obsessed with the gluten free bakery options, and if I didn't have breakfast prior I would have definitely purchased them all. I opted for the Goth Latte (seemed fitting!) and loved how it wasn't overly sweet but you were still able to taste the blueberry. The staff were all so welcoming and greeted every customer, ensured every order was made in a timely manner and made the space feel like home. Cool place. The baked goods were fresh and tasty. I had the Goth latte and the wife had the mocha pistachio matcha latte. Both were delicious. Gentleman who helped us was pleasant enough. My gosh, what a cool spot! I had seen some other moms posting about this place on the Hunterdon County Mamas group and finally stopped in for myself. It absolutely lived up to the hype! The coffee is delicious and unique and the space is a lot bigger than you'd expect. They had coloring books and crayons for my toddler. Service was fast and friendly. Best coffee I have ever had in NJ. As a CA transplant, I am a coffee snob. The cappuccino was legit replete with a Rosetta leaf. Before ordering a mocha I inquired whether or not their cocoa was high quality. They assured me it was and then showed me the Ghirardelli's syrup bottle. That's NOT high quality. I can't find high quality cocoa on the East Coast so I just make at home with my Guittard Rouge. The service was fantastic and the coffeehouse is located in the historic STANGL pottery factory. Came from an hour away, as this magic oriented cafe seemed quite unique. The place itself is very dark, and takes up a huge amount of space, but there's a lot less seating than I would expect given the square footage. We got our pastry and drinks to stay. They forgot, and our first drink came in a to go cup, until I reminded them and then they made the second for here. The latte art was lacking in the cup to stay. The goth latte, which I ordered because it was quite unique sounding, had charcoal and blueberry, and was super sweet. The taste of coffee was lost. The pastry was cold and quite small, not really worth the money, though it was tasty. read more

A very big welcome to Flemington's newest coffee shop. The vibes are relaxed witchy, complete with a sweet little black cat that hangs outside and has to be a paid actor. There are two things we look for in a new cafe: strong wife & strong coffee, they have 'em both folks! I love this location and was so excited to hear another coffee shop opened up here, it's truly such a perfect space for one! It's cozy but still very spacious. If you didn't know yet, this is the old Stangl pottery factory! My family has so much Stangl ceramics, and I love coming across them when antiquing and thrifting. It's very cool what they have been able to do with this old historic space. You can grab your drink and hang out in the dark old kiln that is now seating, there are lots of tables if you plan to bring a laptop and hang out for awhile *raises hand* and it's also my favorite place to meet friends for a quick catch up. And now add in a very cool and subtle witch/goth vibe! It's great. I've stopped in a few times, always during the week, and always get the usual oat milk latte and it's brewed perfectly, hitting the spot both times. On my last visit I tried a few of the pastries and oof! Those were great too!! I got the swiss and bacon egg bite (those ingredients might be a bit off) and it was so good. I loved the crust. Also had to try the rhubarb tart and omg if you see that in the case, get it. Another big welcome to town! I am at more core a coffee shop gal and love discovering new ones. Ugh just love this place! Beautiful vibe. Great barista, specialty syrups and concoctions, just perfect. Gluten free goods that are freaking delicious.. gf coffee cake was on point, and huge! I mean if there's a gluten free tres leches on the menu you know this is the real deal (tomorrow, you're mine tres leches! ;) super fair portions for under $6! 10/10 aesthetic. the space looks so pretty - from the wall paper and chandeliers to the antique furniture and the awesome ass tour posters hung on the walls. i stopped in because i just moved back to the area & no local coffee shops are around anymore, sadly. i had heard through the grapevine that alkemy was owned by a musician i was familiar with and i wanted to check things out based off that. they have a large drink menu and a big selection of treats. i was overwhelmed by options so i went with my go to and got an iced americano, which was delicious. prices are cheaper than the crummy chain coffee shops! i look forward to going back when i have more time and can try other options. read more
