We visited Ritual for the first time on a Sunday afternoon during their soft launch period after seeing all the hype on social media. We already loved their vibe online, and it's even better in person!
The space is so thoughtfully designed. It has a witchy, gothic aesthetic. The purple walls, black ceiling, stained glass details, vibrant yellow accent lighting, and cozy lighting throughout all work together beautifully. It feels artistic and moody while still being incredibly warm and inviting.
Owners Lauren and Greg are just as wonderful as the space they've created. They were both so kind, warm, and welcoming, and you can tell how much personality and creativity they've poured into Ritual. Even their personal styles feel like an extension of the shop! Lauren's vibrant yellow hair and incredible nails, their tattoos, and their overall aesthetic somehow make the whole concept feel even more cohesive. Such a cool, creative duo!
Most importantly, the drinks were fantastic. I ordered a cappuccino with almond milk, and my boyfriend tried The Cabot, one of their specialty drinks and essentially Ritual's own take on a pumpkin spice latte. He ordered The Cabot decaf with almond milk, and it was outrageously good. So rich and flavorful without being overly sweet. I was genuinely so impressed.
Their menu has a great selection of unique specialty lattes as well as non-coffee options, which I really appreciate. I can't wait to come back and try the Thai Tea Latte and The Tituba (a rose and vanilla elixir).
There's also a really cool little merch area with T-shirts, handcrafted soaps, candles, and other goodies that fit the Ritual aesthetic perfectly.
There was plenty of parking in the lot out front, and even though Ritual was very busy on a Sunday afternoon, we had no trouble finding a spot.
It's so nice to have another independent coffee shop in the Flemington area with such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Ritual already seemed incredibly popular during the soft launch, and after visiting, I completely understand why. I'm so glad to see them doing well already and can't wait to come back! read more
