Cute Frenchtown and this café right at the NJ-PA border. We were already had lunch at home, but after a few strolls around this town, you get that "let's eat something feeling". It's an old, rustic look ambiance, small-town vibe restaurant. They don't have many options, but I guess it's sufficient. I ordered, chicken kofta (Pita wrap)- chicken kabab with onions, cabbage, sauce, and greens - it's good and really full. They have a seating arrangement at the side with glass windows looking over the Delaware river and bridge. It's cute. Service - You can't expect like "top service here", this is a family-owned restaurant so be mindful. it was Saturday and the server did not get a break since the morning so there is no issue in waiting another 5 minutes.

Almond Croissant

Came here with a friend for lunch. There was less of a waiting time here compared to other places and the food came pretty quickly. I ordered the Chicken Sandwich, which was pretty good. We also got an almond pastry and it was delicious. Will definitely come back here because of the great service and food!

Superb service, family owned. The food... EYEROLLING IN THE BEST WAY! When I tried their philly cheesesteak special it topped a real philly cheesesteak. I've been trying to make it back to try another special since!!

We stopped here for lunch. They have a lot of outdoor seating but we sat inside. It is very homey and comfortable here. The people are extremely friendly and helpful. The food takes awhile but it's worth the wait. I had the Grilled Cheese Monsieur sandwich which has ham, Swiss cheese, Béchamel Sauce on a Brioche bun. It was very good.

I wasn't sure what to expect at 3.5 stars but I really enjoyed coming to The Bridge Cafe. I was riding my bicycle along the canal trail and forgot the bike locks. Luckily there are bike racks adjacent to the cafe. You can sit indoors or outdoors and both provided a clear view so I didn't have to worry about the bike disappearing. I ordered the omelette special and it was delicious! I think it was eggs, Swiss cheese, asparagus and mushrooms. It came with some really good homemade (I think) bread and jam. The coffee was good too. Everyone there was really friendly. I gave my compliments to the chef (I think they are the owner also) on the way out. We struck up a conversation and he offered me some fresh in-house smoked salmon he was cutting. It was soooo good. I wanted sit back down and get an order of it.

Good food and location; not good for vegans or gluten free folks. If you know what you're getting into you'll be fine.

I have been wanting to visit Canal House Station for years, and I finally had my chance this past…read moreweekend. They were very sweet and happily accommodated our 7mo old daughter with a highchair (and buttered rigatoni!). Our reservation was a 6:15, and we were promptly seated in a beautiful part of the dining room. They had vases full of garlic scapes, peonies, hydrangeas. The decor and ambiance was beautiful. On each table, they had a small vase of fragrant herbs. The dinner is $95 and three courses. We chose from an entree list of duck confit, hake, and summer risotto. We chose the hake and duck to share, The first course was an herby salad with little gem lettuce, bacon, and crispy croutons. I love an herby salad so this was very delicious. The hake with hollandaise sauce and asparagus was good perfectly, it was a really delicious, plump piece of fish. The Eaton mess for dessert was fabulous. Berry preserves, berry sorbet, vanilla ice cream, and merengue. A winning combination. I definitely recommend as a destination restaurant along this cute Delaware River town. PS it's BYOB!

The food, however, was something of a disappointment; for a restaurant with this many accolades and a very small menu, I would not expect the confit to be dried out or the sole to be dry and mealy. I love almond cake, but again, it had five minutes too long in the oven. Felt the chef's attention was not on their timing.

It is…read moreattached to a spa, which is really cool but unfortunately we have not had time to try it out. Our party of 5 adults and 1 baby came for brunch. The service and drinks were ok. The food as very good. The Chicken Cranberry Croissant (toasted croissant with pulled chicken and cranberry salad with arugula salad) was our favorite. I've come back while driving through just for that chicken sandwich. Unfortunately we were traveling with it and I asked them to separate all the items for us and they did not. Would have been nice to reconstruct it ourselves and not have a soggy sandwich when we got to our destination. Much better to eat immediately so make sure you do that. I would have to say space is limited and the placement of the furniture makes it hard to dine in. It was very interesting because there were parties smaller than us and they all seemed cramped as well. We sat at the corner table right when you walk in on the left, we all had to sit on the bench because the circular table in the middle of the space blocked us from sitting on the other side of our table. It was very awkward because it was hard for our party to get out and the other table was full and wasn't being helpful by scooching a bit haha. I would recommend the food here but only if you're in a small party and looking for a quick bite.
