My husband had the blackened salmon dinner special. They also had a frog legs dinner special available! All entrees include bread and a dinner salad. Non-pasta entrees come with a side of penne in marinara sauce. From the dessert tray we selected tartufo, a berry tart, and carrot cake. Prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes and quality. Our bill was $114 for an appetizer, 3 entrees, 3 soft drinks, and 3 desserts. I like to keep it simple on a first visit. If you've seen my other reviews, it sorta makes sense. I got the linguine, with mushroom sauce and meatballs. It gives me a chance to see if the pasta is boxed or not, how fresh the ingredients are, the taste of the sauce, and if they can make a decent meatball. The linguine was made in the kitchen from scratch and the mushroom marinara was delicious. The meatballs are amongst the best I've had in the area, including two NYC Little Italys (Manhattan and Bronx). The salad was fresh and crisp and the bread came out warm and delicious. It's a bit of a drive from Clinton, but I am going to try their pizza at my next takeout opportunity.

The mushroom ravioli came with a very watery sauce and were not great. The special lobster ravioli were better, and filled with real pieces of lobster, but the sauce was loose, it lacked seasoning and was not bright or rich in any taste but lobster stock. The premade typical tartufo was the most refreshing dessert. The tiramisu was light and delicious. The limoncello cake seemed premade and the tasty lemon ice overshadowed it. It is a BYOB and they do sell Alba wines in house. The staff is efficient but not very communicative as if they are hoping to not have to answer any questions. With a 20% tip the cost per person (without wine) can be about $70 to $85 per person. The food overall was OK but I wouldn't rush back to experience it again.

For our mains, we had the lamb chops and the lemon chicken, both of which were delicious. The lamb was tender and perfectly cooked, and the lemon chicken had such a bright, balanced flavor. The potatoes were a standout, roasted and finished in a lemon butter that made them unforgettable. If you haven't been in a while, or didn't realize there's been a change, it's definitely worth stopping in. The team behind the counter is friendly and welcoming and you'll probably get a very big hello from the owner and chef himself. And the menu is creative, seasonal and has so much Puerto Rican influences that just make you so excited to try everything. Thick cut, house smoked bacon, a thick slice of heirloom tomato, and NJ corn and basil aioli made this a perfect dish as we say goodbye to summer.
