Recently dined in and had a poor experience. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, we waited about an hour after ordering to receive our single pizza. The staff seemed extremely disorganized and disengaged with the majority of them talking amongst themselves in pairs around the restaurant while several tables sat unattended. It took over 30 minutes just to get water, and another 10 minutes after being seated to receive bread. With the open kitchen layout, it was clear that very little was being prepared or moved along. The lack of care from the team was truly mind blowing to watch. I observed the other 2-3 tables around me which had no more than 4 people seated and all including ours was empty, with no food. However, the manager stepped in toward the end and kindly offered us dessert to make up for the wait, which we appreciated. The butter cake and pizza were both good but not enough for an hour wait. I had never been to CPK before, but my boyfriend suggested we go and try their cauliflower pizza crust. It's a casual sit down eatery. The cheese, sauce, and toppings are ok. Nothing to write home about. The cauliflower crust was good. You can't really tell it's cauliflower so it made for a guilt free cheat. They bring some bread pieces out that precede the meal, but they're also nothing to write home about. I will say that their spinach and artichoke dip was delicious. That didn't disappoint at all. We come here pretty often because of the spicy buffalo cauliflower - it is the most addicting snack ever! We went there again yesterday. We ordered the spicy buffalo cauliflower and their pizzas - spicy chipotle chicken (not really spicy but has flavor) and the wild mushroom. We loved the pizzas...it's our usual go to pizzas. The restaurant was not so busy when my friend and our daughters arrived. We were seated in Alex's section. He was not the best but also not the worst I've had. I want to say he did his best but in all honesty I think he could have done better. He was not very attentive and he didn't always remember our requests. The dynamite shrimp and guacamole were both really good. I had the wild mushroom pizza. I get it often. My daughter got the Hawaiian pizza. She loved it! My friend and her daughter got the BBQ chicken pizza. One pizza came out perfect and that is what is pictured. The other pizza was not cooked with the red onions. They were thrown on top. This is the third time I go to pick up an online order and it's also the third time, I notice the lack of communication and service between the staff. For some strange reason, none of the employees will make eye contact with the customers waiting and will completely ignore them. When I first walked in, I noticed the host doesn't greet the customers because she's talking to another coworker. As we are waiting at the line to pick up our order (next to the host), at least 5-6 different employees walked by and no one made eye contact or asked if someone was helping us. There are at least 3-4 employees right in front of the kitchen just talking and making jokes and none of them looked or approached any of the customers waiting. We were at the line for over 15 mins and no one seemed to care. There was a customer who's being waiting at the Take Out window long before we got there and I see a girl with red hair approaching the counter and completely ignoring the customer who's standing right in front of her. A guy with eyeglasses comes to the counter and preps an order in front of the customer and completely ignores the customer as well. After a while, the manager comes to us and asked if we were being helped and I have to say, he was the only one assisting all the customers waiting at the window. Very polite and diligent by the way. However, the staff is not qualified to be dealing with customer service. It's education 101 to greet a customer and to acknowledge their presence. The staff needs to be trained to be attentive at all times. If they're afraid of people, they shouldn't be working there. It takes nothing to say hi and to try to help someone. read more

If you are coming here, you should get anything BUT the pizza. My partner got the spicy buffalo Cauliflower wings, and I got the Mac and cheese! Both were great! That's not the issue! California Veggie Pizza - bland blah ... sorry it's not to my liking CPK was a craze when they opened but they failed to create interesting flavors so have been a mediocre restaurant. I have not been to a CPK in a very long time and I think the last one I was to was in Southern CA. Either way, I do not recall it having such a fast food feel to it but in any case... Seated for a quick dinner the menu is big enough to find something interesting on it to which I was looking forward to. Sharing the Spinach Artichoke Dip - Served hot with house made blue & white corn tortilla chips, to start set a low bar for what was to come. The dip itself did not have much taste and was warm at best in temperature. The real disappointing part, however, were the chips of all things. They were semi soggy at best and tasteless as well. Yes, the bag of these would be thrown out if it was at home. The pizza ordered was actually very tasty. Spicy Milano - Spicy marinara, serrano peppers, Italian sausage, spicy pepperoni, Cremini mushrooms, yellow onions, fresh Mozzarella & Romano and wild Greek oregano. The serranos are cut small and thin, so they add a great kick and are very different from the Jalapeños you see everywhere. There were two disappointing parts to the pizza, however. It took FOREVER to make it to the table and the crust was way over done. The excuse for the timing was that the kitchen was backed up. Look, this might be true but with an open kitchen and sitting right across from the pizza oven it did not seem to be a case where anything was scrambling to get in there. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed. I ordered the California Veggie Pizza and I didn't even have the "balls" to take a picture of it because it was a complete disaster. The pizza dough was raw and the waiter did not let me know the kitchen had run out of of broccolini so they put boiled/steamed broccoli instead... Not the same Mr. Chef. This really upset me since my SIL and I have ordered the Spinach and Artichoke Dip and the chips are worse than STALE. Was my second visit. The first visit went well during Happy Hour a month or so before. The second visit was a pickup order. When I arrived I called as requested to say I was in the parking lot. It took 20 minutes before anyone greeted me. When the young man did come out he informed me that they were out of the soup I ordered and asked if I would switch to another soup. The spinach artichoke dip has the perfect taste that it is kind of addicting. Roasted Garlic Chicken Pizza: They could have put a little more chicken on this and a little more pizza sauce. Walked in the mall took my time and when I got to the restaurant there was nobody eating and the 4-5 staff members just by the cash chatting away. One of the worst service I have experienced at a CPK in a long time. I usually have been going to their location in Paramus which is by far way better in terms of service and quality of food. Bridgewater location CPK Manager made me wait for 20-30 minutes for pizza order that was placed well in advance via online ordering platform. Additionally once the pizza was ready he unhygienically swapped the pizza from one box to other in front of me and completely ignored special instructions (nothing crazy) I had left on the ordering form. He was not apologetic for delays and dumped two pieces of bread with no dipping oil in the bag and handed over. I will not be returning to the Bridgewater location and will not be recommending anyone I know to do so. read more

What a date night! CPK is the perfect location for a lovely evening! We were oh so lucky to have Cielo (Sky) as our wait staff. She was introducing Lauren to the routine as she was new that day. The Sicilian pizza that we had was off the chart. A great combo of sausage, veggies and light sauce. We ordered a medium thick crust. SO perfect. The toppings were NOT overwhelmed by the crust, as usually they are. Not this time! We also shared an appy of white corn quacamole that was fresh and tasty. California Pizza Kitchen in Bridgewater was my "go to" place for lunch at least once a week, til they started using yesterday's bread or frozen bread. One day I ordered a "to go" and when I got home the sandwich was warm, cheese melted and it was the same sandwich I always ordered and never before was it warmed. So, as I started to eat it I realized, the bread was dry and different, not fresh. So, I gave CPK three more shots to get it right and specified every time not to warm the sandwich. Well, each time the bread was stale and their bread was always fresh previous. So, I realized, they were using yesterday's bread, frozen bread and masking it with heat, only the heating made it worse. I filled out the survey they all ask for now and told this same story. Got a call, from the manager, who left a message, no name, no number and said he would be calling me back in the next few days, he never called back and I never went back. I'm not paying over $20.00 for a pretty basic sandwich on stale bread. So I'm done with CPK. And I truly used to love their food. read more

Charred shishitto peppers were - hmm actually charred and well-done! Another good veggie app is Buffalo cauliflower. Cauli battered and deep fried. Both the apps were good. The house bread with olive oil was ok but not remarkable or signaturish. California veggie with goat cheese pizza was average. While the crust was crisp and charred- the wheat dough did not appear too fresh. Same story with the the spinach and artichokes pizza. Garlic creme fettuccini pasta was a little bit bland. The restaurant was very warm, which was nice! They gave us bread to start with a delicious olive oil dipping sauce. When we were done, they asked us if we wanted seconds, which was great! I ordered the grilled veggie sandwich without cheese, and my mom and aunt each ordered the same sandwich WITH cheese (but it was missing from both of their sandwiches). Came here on a saturday afternoon. It was a 45 min wait. Gave my phone number and the called exactly 45 min later. The place was not packed but they still follow the limited capacity rules and social distancing. Even though its no linger required i still think having those rules in place are great. Our server was nice. Got the sangria flight, a dr pepper, water, bbq pizza, and the lunch combo with a 7 inch pepperoni pizza and a side Cesar salad. We couldn't get bread due to them not having anymore and it needed to be made. This was a bummer because i was STARVING at this point. The food came out about 20 min later. My partner liked the bbq pizza, hence why we came her in the first place. Me i dont like their pizza even though it was my first time here. The sauce is too sweet for my liking and my jaw hurt from chewing 2 mini slices. The salad was also very dry, i had to ask fir extra dressing. The bill was around $45. The food is another story, the quality and values are both deteriorating, it's no longer the same as before. Pizza is smaller in size, more saltier and less tasty, more greasier and less ingredients. This tiny little margarita pizza which is essentially a plain cheese pizza, with no basil, costs $17. Also don't get the Thai chicken salad, it's a salad without greens, no green leaves, only shredded cabbages soaked in heavy sauce, very little chicken in it. This salad costs $18.
