Always good food and atmosphere at Stage House Tavern. Service was quick at the bar where we sat. The steak was delicious and tender as I got it Medium Rare. Ravioli was good, however we were confused with the pesto sauce as it was very lemony. Overall, very good. Ended the night with the crème brûlée and a decaf cappuccino. The crème brûlée was light a perfect way to end the night after a great meal!

Our takeout order for six of us was ready on time. This is a popular spot and we liked the ambiance even though we were there for a short time, awaiting our takeout. This was the first time we tried Stage House Tavern and we ordered a wide variety of menu items. This included: * Classic Cheese Raviolis * Spinach & Mushroom Raviolis * Goat Cheese Raviolis * Parmesan Crusted Chicken Breast * Red Beet Salad I sampled everything and very much liked the Red Beet Salad. I found the raviolis to be vey heavy though the Classic Cheese Raviolis had a tasty cheese sauce. The Chicken Breast was way overcooked and dry. If we return, I'd try the prime rib if available or the burgers and dine in.

Ambiance The restaurant itself is pretty spacious with multiple tables scattered around along with booths along the wall. The front area though is on the smaller side and can get crowded quickly . Service Service was good nothing that really made it stand out but also had no issues with anything. Food - Apple and Field Green Salad This was very good. Salad serving wasn't too big. Good for one person. Apples were nice and crisp and loved the goat cheese mixed with red onions and pecans. Overall, I'd get it again . -Goat cheese & Fig flatbread I thought this was going to be more flavorful. The flavor felt a little muted. Couldn't taste the fig or goat cheese for that matter. - Hot Honey Chicken flatbread Loved this one really tasted everything. Chicken was cooked good seasoned well and really tasted the hot honey. This one though is a rather filling flatbread. Overall, would get again Stage House has an ok vibe , but the menu is huge ! There were so many options to choose from and i honestly couldn't decide. Place reminds me of Tommy's Tavern and Tap Restaurant. The only reason I'd go back is to try all the other stuff on the huge menu they have .

    Happy Hour!

Came back from brunch today too. It was great. So many options to choose from. Omelette station, salmon, bagels, cereal, pancakes (4 flavor options), chicken, biscuits, you name it!

Seafood Ravioli with Vodka Sauce. Decent.

Service was great we received everything as ordered in our waiter checked on us a couple times the food was excellent. I had a Caesar salad with grilled shrimp other people in our group had chicken sandwiches, burgers, the onion soup, etc. and everyone was happy with their meals. Ambience is rustic place is very very large and looks like it could accommodate large parties I saw they also have an outdoor patio, which I would like to try in the summer great place

Are dogs allowed in the outdoor dining area?

No. That was the case on June 2, 2024.

    Best thing on the menu?

Hands down their fries!! But honestly everything I've had has been really good

The strip mall itself isn't anything special, but the surrounding area is beautiful , and once you're inside, the restaurant feels warm and inviting. The food is fantastic, and the variety on the menu is impressive. The chef clearly knows what they're doing because every single dish we tried was genuinely delicious. It's the kind of spot where you can't go wrong: date night, dinner with friends, or anything in between. We brought our own bottle and had a great time. Our waiter was super knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. The staff even joked around with me when I forgot my to‑go bag, and yes, I absolutely took it home because the food is that good. I also appreciate that they don't act like offering takeout is beneath them; even the takeout bag was nice. I honestly wish my meals were this good every night. I hope everyone who works here is paid well and enjoys what they do, because they're running the place exactly how a restaurant should be run. It feels like a true community staple somewhere that transports you a bit and makes the whole experience feel special. Lovely all around.

Luca's Ristorante is a hidden gem that proves you should never judge a restaurant by its parking lot. Not long after we were seated, we were greeted by Luca -- a Luca and not the Luca. Still he was warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about his restaurant, taking the time to walk us through the menu and checking in throughout the meal without ever hovering. Luca's has a partial liquor license, offering a modest wine selection but is otherwise being BYOB. As we were told with a smile, they're much more interested in what's ON your plate than what's IN your glass. We started with two excellent appetizers. The arancini, already a family favorite, were crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and disappeared from the table faster than anyone was willing to admit. The Polpette, Luca's signature meatballs with pine nuts and raisins, certainly earned the praise they've received from NJ.com as some of the best in the state. Even if raisins in meatballs sound unusual, trust the process. The restaurant proudly calls itself "A Taste of Ischia," the beautiful volcanic island in the Bay of Naples, and the seafood absolutely lives up to that promise. My squid ink pasta with octopus (the Polypus) was outstanding, with perfectly tender octopus and beautifully balanced flavors. The scallops were buttery, sweet, and cooked to perfection, while the Ischia -- loaded with mussels, clams, and calamari -- was every seafood lover's dream. The rest of the menu proved just as impressive. The Pappardelle, featuring burrata and a rich Bolognese sauce, was a huge hit, while the Romolo, a comforting combination of chicken, pasta, bacon, and sauce, was another winner that had no leftovers to speak of. If you somehow still have room after dinner, Luca's offers a nice assortment of gelato. But do yourself one favor: don't leave without ordering a cappuccino. Rich, foamy, and expertly made, it's the perfect finale to a memorable meal. If you find yourself in Somerset, just a few turns off Routes 287 or 1, make the stop. You'll be greeted by a wonderful staff, treated to outstanding food, and very likely leave wondering how a restaurant this good has been hiding in a strip mall all along.

Service was brusque and certainly more efficient in Chinese; my English was basically slower by a factor of at least 3. And yes, they are spicy, so not a place I enjoyed so much but others in the group liked spicy so they were good. Large square hot pots split into two soups if you wanted with a single clear broth in the center circle in case you needed to cook something not as spicy. A few different broth choices; some at an extra cost (like the pickled mustard + intestine). Meats, seafood, some fried dishes, veggies and noodles all available. Sauces much more limited than what I'm used to elsewhere, and the soy sauce is just labeled as a "special sauce". Big tank of sesame oil, though, that seems to be used a lot by the folks who frequent this particular style of hotpot, so it makes sense. Special dishes like the green pepper-covered beef are great for those who like spice. Meatballs and house made shrimp balls were ok. The noodle I asked how long it'd take to cook, and they basically told me to test like I would with spaghetti- take a piece, break it open and see if it's fully cooked. No sense of time or anything extra in the way of service. Overall too spicy and oily for me, but the lamb was good quality and the ice jelly dessert was an interesting mix of clear jelly, sour plum-like juice and some dessert haw flakes and spices. Not very sweet. Water pitcher and other service items (napkins, chopsticks) were provided initially but for any refills or additional plates, chopsticks, etc. you had to call waitstaff over. Didn't change plates or anything for us. They do take credit cards. Clean and large space, while I'd expected more ventilation, didn't walk out feeling overwhelmed with aromas so something was going for it. Seats were comfortable and they didn't rush us out.

Unfortunately, the team was way too behind to meet customer orders, and as a result there was more chaos than is needed at a salad place. It seemed like the team fell rapidly behind between online and in person orders with most customers waiting 30mins+ during lunch. Given that this was a work day, there seemed to be a lot of frustration around the whole place -especially with people needing to rush back to work. My real disappointment though was the food. I ordered the fit and fueled, and the restaurant forgot the romaine. The entire dish was also scarce on all ingredients except for the shredded carrots and quinoa. There were a few tomatoes, feta, cucumbers, and bits of chicken scattered about, making the dish overall just carrots and quinoa. While I initially chose to dine in, I soon had to switch to takeout given the time it took to get my meal. However, between the yelling of customers and team and overall chaos of the place, dining in did not seem as relaxing as I first thought it would be. I did hear this place is still only a couple months old, so if I were more local Id wait a bit for operations to smoothen out before giving it another shot, but wouldn't discount it entirely based on my one experience.
