Came here for a galentines day brunch with some friends. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. We made a reservation but restaurant was not crowded for a Sunday mid day brunch. I ordered the chicken and waffle sliders which were very tasty! Two of my friends got the eggs benny (one with crab cakes and one with Taylor ham) which they both enjoyed and one friend got the cheesesteak which she said was good as well. Three of us got the special Valentine's Day martini flight. I thought they were tasty but they came in tiny beer glasses which we all thought was a little strange. Definitely the best place to get a drink in Somerville for beer and cocktails with the friendliest bartenders. If you come on Thursdays you can get the special tiki menu instead of the usual cocktails (and normal beer menu). There's also tiki food specials! The drinks here are the best! The bartenders whip up creative cocktails that change often! I've gone here several times for drinks but also for brunch. This may be one of my favorite brunch spots in Somerville -- wish they did brunch on Saturday also and not just Sunday's. They have a mimosa flight which the flavor also rotates based on the season! I went to Project PUB for the first time on Wednesday evening for a meetup group social. I was very excited because I had passed by and always wanted to try it out. The bar had excellent beer and drink options, although I will say the sour I had might've been a little too sour... I didn't eat anything, but seeing the plates that were served to other patrons, I would definitely be willing to return and try their food, as it all looked scrumptious! Project PUB is a decent size restaurant with a bar on one side and a dining room on the other. There is also a porch with tables and chairs set up. I enjoyed this as it gave my friends and I different settings to move around in, especially when the bar area became too stuffy due to the large amount of people there. Overall, the drinks were pretty good, the food looked great, and the environment was nice. I'll have to do another review when I go back and try the food. read more

Can't speak for the food but can speak for the drinks! Tucked away in what appears to be an old residential house, the ambiance of this place feels just like home and old fashioned. Excellent place to catch up with friends like we did, not too quiet but not too loud. The drinks were 10/10. The bartender was so much fun to chat with and I loved that they had an entire menu dedicated just to espresso martinis. Asked for a spicy drink and was met with a delicious mezcal drink. I came here for brunch on a Sunday morning. We made reservations before coming in and were seated immediately on the top level upon arrival. The ambiance were casual, rustic, and homey. Mimosa Flight- This came with an orange, grapefruit, passion fruit, and watermelon mimosa. It was a great deal and such a wonderful way to try all the different flavors. We loved the passion fruit mimosa so much that we ended up getting a pitcher of it! Bloody Mary Board- This came with deviled eggs, pickled veggies, shrimp, and toast. It reminded me of a charcuterie board. Loved all the different elements on it but did feel disappointed that it only came with two pieces of shrimp (I was expecting more as it was the first thing listed under the board on the menu). The Benedicts- A solid egg Benedict with a jersey twist. The hash browns were fried perfectly as well. This is perfect if you're looking for a classic brunch item. Stopped by for the first time last weekend and was pleasantly surprised! I've been a huge fan of tapastre so I was happy to see they are part of the same establishment. There was a beer festival going on but we were able to get some seats. We got cheese fries and the bar pie to share and the pizza is soooo good! This was a nice brewery spot that my girlfriend and I stopped at on a Friday night. We sat at a high top table by the bar. The beer menu had a nice selection of craft beers. We ordered a couple of different IPA beers to start the evening. The beers tasted great. I really enjoyed them. We then ordered an order of beer Mac and Cheese, with fried chicken on top. This was delicious and hit the spot. It was a nice portion to share between the two of us. Great tasting Mac and Cheese from this place. This place also had a nice atmosphere and vibe. We've been to Project Pub and Tapastre a handful of times and we always enjoy our meals no matter what we get. The salmon sliders are always a staple. The salmon is crispy on the outside, and perfectly pink/juicy on the inside. The lemon aioli really brings these sliders together for a perfect bite. The grilled peach salad was packed with prosciutto and mozzarella pearls but was a little too salty for our taste. Yukon gold potatoes are used for the patatas so they are perfectly creamy on the inside, but we were prefer them to be crispier on the outside. However, the saffron aioli was delicious!! We used it all with the wedges! Our server was very sweet. The restaurant itself is in a cool location that's off of Main Street so you're away from most of the hustle and bustle of downtown which is nice. read more

This appeared to be an old residence prior to the food establishments taking over. There was one in the basement and another on the main floor. The décor was very old-fashioned and cozy. Regarding the menu, there were mostly small plates, appetizers, and sandwiches with a lot of variety. The food came out in a timely matter as well. For starters, the vegetable dumplings ($9), drunken clams on fire ($11), and jalapeno-raspberry beef kebabs ($10) were ordered. There were 5 vegetable dumplings to an order that came with Asian slaw, and a soy-ginger dipping sauce. These were very crispy, but inconsistent regarding the filling. The sauce was a little too salty. The clams were littleneck clams with crushed red pepper, jalapenos, beer, and tomato broth. These were some of the biggest clams I have ever seen!! There were 9 of them I believe. The sauce had an enjoyable kick and each clam had a jalapeno slice to up that heat. The grilled bread soaked up the light sauce tremendously. The kebabs had a side of roasted red potatoes and an argula-frisee salad. There were 2 skewers with large pieces of beef. The salad and potatoes were a nice complement to the flavor of the beef, which was a nice blend of sweet and spice. The fried chicken tower ($16) and beer mac & cheese ($12) was shared for dinner. The tower consisted of beer battered boneless chicken thighs with coleslaw, and beer mustard on a ciabatta roll. This was another huge dish! The chicken was cooked to perfection and went together nicely with the beer mustard. The duck fries on the side were decent, a little inconsistent in the flavor. The mac & cheese was topped with herb breadcrumbs and had a side of spinach. Unfortunately, the spinach was my favorite part about this dish as it was very flavorful. There were just too many breadcrumbs present and took away from the overall cheese taste for me. Will I go back? I would. read more

LOVE this place. I am not a local but from sitting at the bar a few times, this is definitely a place that has regulars. That being said I've only sat at the bar, for drinks and shareables. The crispy fish tacos may be the best I've ever had and I've gone back for them a few times. Being that the margherita pizza is not a traditional pizza, it was still very tasty and had a nice lightness about it. As someone who doesn't typically like clams, the clams on fire has an incredible heat to them that masks the actual clam taste and I love dipping the crostini in the sauce. My first experience with Project PUB is during COVID-19 and from the start I am impressed with their efforts to provide a safe and sanitary customer experience. There is plenty of outdoor seating, the staff is very cognizant of personal space (social distancing) and are all wearing masks. The beers on tap are very unique and I'm glad I had the opportunity to try them! I'm not sure I would have easily found them in stores or outside their respective breweries. The pizza was also interesting. The crust was crisp and thin like a standard bar pie, but tasted buttery like a biscuit. It actually was quite delicious in conjunction with their excellent cheese and the thin, juicy tomato slices. I also enjoyed the basil/oil lines that added extra flavor. read more

I met my friend here for happy hour for my first visit to Project Pub. The signage was a little confusing outside, I wasn't actually sure where to go since there's a separate dining and bar entrance. I eventually made my way to the bar and the bartender was pretty indifferent during our interaction while I requested a table. I snagged a high top and waited for my friend, perusing the menu. Upon her arrival, we were able to place drink orders quickly with our server and I ordered a sangria flight. To my surprise and elation, the flight had full-sized glasses, which made the 3/$15 price tag definitely seem worth it. The bartenders definitely had fun with each other, but didn't engage much with any of the customers. We decided to share deviled eggs and patatas, both dishes were delicious and well-seasoned. I just went there last night for dinner with a friend. The food menu has a lot of good options such as their veggie dumplings. The place was completely empty and remained empty the whole time we were there abs still they turned people down. There a was 2 bartenders, a guy and a girl. The guy was good, and the girl was just rude. She spent the whole time talking to someone who worked there, gossiping and complaining about customers while we needed to order stuff. When I asked her if they had a pumpkin drink, she told me to look at the menu. The food was also not good. We ordered the crab cakes, the French fries, the Mac and cheese with pork belly and the pork pizza. The Mac and cheese lacked salt, but it did come with asparagus and the asparagus was pretty good. The crab cakes were really really good and the pizza was just ok. The runner would drop of food and leave the dirty plates at the bar, when we asked her to take it, she said she had no more hands. I came here for the Somerville Craft and Brew Fest held by Tapastre and Project PUB. This was held right in downtown Somerville on the corner of Main Street and stretched a couple of blocks by the courthouse. I wasn't sure what to expect,but I knew there would be an opportunity to taste and try many one of a kind IPA's and local beers from different breweries all in one place. They had Red and White Sangrias, and bottled water if you weren't into beer, but again it was a Brew Fest. The vibe was very upbeat and hip. The sun was shining bright and beating down with alot of humidity but that didn't stop anyone from having a good time. I was very lucky to get a parking spot right up in front so I didn't have to walk far like, only 10 feet. There was very tight security, big large bouncers in Black uniforms and Somerville police walking around. They were all very nice , including all the vendors and staff. Every single person got proofed including me. This event was very organized. Everyone received a wrist band to enter and a small plastic beer mug to sample different beers for $2 a tasting.. You could also choose to purchase a full size cup for $5. The beer stands and food stands were intertwined one next to the other. This was great , again not a lot of walking. There was even a few vendors selling unique tee-shirts and goods. As I made my way to the different beer tents I noticed they even set up a covered area for people to Paint n Sip. ( You purchase a canvas and an artist walks you through step by step showing you how to paint a simple picture.) You follow along step by step, all the while your drinking libations. I'm not sure what the cost was. There was a Gyro stand, a Mexican stand, selling Street Corn and food. A Burger stand selling burgers and hot dogs, an Empanada stand with four different varieties to choose from. There was even a Polish tent with fresh grilled Sausages, Kielbasa, and bratwurst. The fresh Mimi donuts being served on a stick was a big hit. Right next to the beer and food stands was a huge tent with lots of tables and chairs. This was a nice place to sit and eat and gather with friends. It also provided great coverage from the heat and drizzling rain at times. The sidewalks were open but they were fenced off in the entire Beer Fest area. You entered from Main Street and the far end. There were only a handful of kids. This is definitely an adult Festival. At the far end of the block was a stage set up. I saw a total of 4 different bands play who happened to be very good.. There were high hat tables set up all around. Right next to the stage was giant and I mean giant beer pong game made out of large garbage cans painted bright red like Solo cups and a huge ball for throwing. This was a big hit, everyone really got into it especially since people were drinking and enjoying the music. It was a fun day for all, the weather held for the most part and no one got out of hand. 2.5 stars Okay. So. I really, really wanted to enjoy this place. What an awesome concept! I love the idea. I just absolutely hate the food. Also, I didn't get a flight but my boyfriend did and they're $18 - which, like, woah. My boyfriend and I got the vegetable dumplings and the wild mushroom flatbread to share. Both were just...bad. There's no way to dance around it, they were not good. The wild mushroom flatbread was so wet and bland. I added salt and pepper and tried to put some sauce on it from my friends' meal but it wasn't salvageable. The dumplings were super greasy and tasteless. I don't know if I would give it another shot. My friends go frequently and are always raving about it. Unfortunately, my first time was incredibly underwhelming. Hopefully it was just a fluke. read more

All were good , daddy daycare was our favorite. 2 of us had the Mac and cheese and the third had the burger. All were very good. I didn't try any food, but came here for drinks after work. I had the Brotherton IPA, which I liked but still decided to switch it up on one of my rounds to try something different. I ended up not liking what I chose when I did that and the bartender allowed me to trade out the beer I didn't like to another Brotherton IPA free of charge.
