Chicken and waffles sliders Three glasses in the back is the martini flight
Marisa V. G.

Came here for a galentines day brunch with some friends. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. We made a reservation but restaurant was not crowded for a Sunday mid day brunch. I ordered the chicken and waffle sliders which were very tasty! Two of my friends got the eggs benny (one with crab cakes and one with Taylor ham) which they both enjoyed and one friend got the cheesesteak which she said was good as well. Three of us got the special Valentine's Day martini flight. I thought they were tasty but they came in tiny beer glasses which we all thought was a little strange. Overall good experience and would come back!

They have happy hour Wednesday-Saturday 4:00-6:00. Bartenders are always a gem. This place can get busy but the vibe is always chill

I went to this place just for a beer, I saw on the menu they have also a big choice of food. Great ambiance and very good service.

Still awesome - loving how creative and unique the cocktails are here thanks to Max and Rocco. Definitely the best place to get a drink in Somerville for beer and cocktails with the friendliest bartenders. If you come on Thursdays you can get the special tiki menu instead of the usual cocktails (and normal beer menu). There's also tiki food specials! We tried the tiki pizza and it was thin crust and delicious. Happy hour runs 4-6 pm Wednesday through Saturday and the "Girl Dinner" (Caesar salad and fire for $9) excellent.

Amazing local spot with beyond creative cocktails, exceptional service from the bartenders especially Max and wait staff, kitchen everyone else as well. A couple levels up from just bar food as I look forward to trying all the new items they come up with.

We went here just for a beer. Project PUB is really a nice place to hangout with friends and offers a very good service. They serve a lot of drinks including crafted beers. There are a lot of foods as well in their menu but a bit pricey though.

The drinks here are the best! The bartenders whip up creative cocktails that change often! I've gone here several times for drinks but also for brunch. This may be one of my favorite brunch spots in Somerville -- wish they did brunch on Saturday also and not just Sunday's. They have a mimosa flight which the flavor also rotates based on the season! I have yet to try the watermelon mimosa which I need to! For brunch I love their pancakes as they are so fluffy or the Sunday Sandwich!

I went to Project PUB for the first time on Wednesday evening for a meetup group social. I was very excited because I had passed by and always wanted to try it out. The bar had excellent beer and drink options, although I will say the sour I had might've been a little too sour... I didn't eat anything, but seeing the plates that were served to other patrons, I would definitely be willing to return and try their food, as it all looked scrumptious! Project PUB is a decent size restaurant with a bar on one side and a dining room on the other. There is also a porch with tables and chairs set up. I enjoyed this as it gave my friends and I different settings to move around in, especially when the bar area became too stuffy due to the large amount of people there. Overall, the drinks were pretty good, the food looked great, and the environment was nice. I'll have to do another review when I go back and try the food.

Can't speak for the food but can speak for the drinks! Tucked away in what appears to be an old residential house, the ambiance of this place feels just like home and old fashioned. Excellent place to catch up with friends like we did, not too quiet but not too loud. The drinks were 10/10. The bartender was so much fun to chat with and I loved that they had an entire menu dedicated just to espresso martinis. Asked for a spicy drink and was met with a delicious mezcal drink. It's my go to drink and I was not disappointed. Loved it!

Absolutely love every experience we have here! Project PUB is a hit with their food and service, as well as the drinks from TAPESTRE. Would recommend stopping by ASAP! @rissyjayeats

Bloody Mary Board

I came here for brunch on a Sunday morning. We made reservations before coming in and were seated immediately on the top level upon arrival. The ambiance were casual, rustic, and homey. Mimosa Flight- This came with an orange, grapefruit, passion fruit, and watermelon mimosa. It was a great deal and such a wonderful way to try all the different flavors. We loved the passion fruit mimosa so much that we ended up getting a pitcher of it! Bloody Mary Board- This came with deviled eggs, pickled veggies, shrimp, and toast. It reminded me of a charcuterie board. Loved all the different elements on it but did feel disappointed that it only came with two pieces of shrimp (I was expecting more as it was the first thing listed under the board on the menu). The Benedicts- A solid egg Benedict with a jersey twist. The hash browns were fried perfectly as well. This is perfect if you're looking for a classic brunch item. I enjoyed my time at Project PUB and look forward to visiting again!

Stopped by for the first time last weekend and was pleasantly surprised! I've been a huge fan of tapastre so I was happy to see they are part of the same establishment. There was a beer festival going on but we were able to get some seats. We got cheese fries and the bar pie to share and the pizza is soooo good! I remember ordering multiple when o used to go to tapastre so was really glad they have that. The menu looks great so will be back for a full dinner!

Sat upstairs with a party of 4 for brunch, and we didn't have to wait long. The tiki mimosa was to die for, and was a great change from your classic mimosa. We shared a meat board (breakfast meat that is!) and I had fried chicken Benedict. The food was very fresh.

I recently met a friend at 22 West for a few drinks and dinner. We got there at the tail end of Happy Hour and enjoyed a couple of locally-produced draft beers. The food itself was perfectly okay -- nothing mind-blowing, but decent enough for a casual bite. We shared a dozen chicken wings and both thought they were pretty good. I had a turkey burger and french fries -- which was well-executed and filling. Looking at their website, it seems as if they've changed up their menu since my visit late last month.. but, I'm not sure I'm going back to try it again because the service really dragged our experience down. We sat at the bar and the staff behind the rail barely paid attention to us and seemed ambivalent about our presence at best. The biggest issue for me happened when I went to the men's restroom and found the soap dispenser completely empty. On the way back to my seat, I mentioned it to the hostess so it could be addressed by the staff and asked if she had any hand sanitizer. She just told me it was her first day on the job and she didn't know who to ask about either. Leaving a restroom without soap is bad enough, but a front-of-house staff member completely brushing off a basic hygiene issue because she didn't want to find a manager is just really bad customer service. It's a convenient spot with decent pub food, but they definitely need to tighten up their service and basic restroom maintenance.

There's nothing my friends love more than books and beer so to finally be at the place where I enjoy both was very nice. They brought their 11yo daughter who also had a good time. It seemed like half of book club was there too lol which to me says a lot about this place - people CHOOSE to come here even when they don't "have" to. Special shout to owner Billy and bartender Nicole. I am typically quite introverted and due in part to them and others they work with I feel quite at home and talkative. I love it here! As I approached the door--something many others had done before me--I was abruptly stopped by a man who turned out to be the owner. He rudely told me "NO," and then followed up with "Would you walk into a refrigerator in a restaurant?" Honestly, if the refrigerator was in the middle of where the party was being held, then yes, I probably would--especially if there was no signage saying it was off-limits. Only after this encounter did he put up an "Employees Only" sign, which tells me it wasn't clearly marked before. This could have been handled in a much more respectful and professional manner. The owner's attitude was unnecessarily rude and confrontational. If he expects people not to go in, proper signage should be in place before the event begins, not after making guests feel unwelcome.

What is outstanding to us is the care which all the staff and brewers show as they are there. Clearly the same love is widespread as the place was full on a Sunday afternoon. It is pleasing that many were there with their kids showing that this local business gives to the whole of the community. The enjoyment of brewing has moved past mere pub secrecy out to the whole of the community. A long calendar of events of all types from pub trivia to local music to sponsoring fellow food, eateries and holidays are all helpful to promote the family warranted nature of this business as it's clear with a large number of newborns and families as might be unusual and yet should be normalized. All staff are knowledgeable in the brewing and hospitality skills to succeed now and for the long run. Point of sale systems are able to keep open a tab and clearly distinguish ongoing bills. The marketing keeps rights with the sign ups of emails and keeping customer histories. Branding is consistent and relevant leading to a nice, smooth, comfortable customer experience. The two bathrooms are both individual and there are plenty of amenities like nooks and crannies the chat in and coat hooks and ledges and more private corners and food trucks rotate thru the good seasons and lots of lovely people always. Oakflower, just opened in 2022, was recommended time and time again, so we made this our first stop. I'm pleased to say it absolutely lived up to the hype. You can tell a brewery is serious about their beer when they don't offer flights or any kind of flavored seltzers. They are concentrating on making the best beer they can and it shows. 11 beers on tap with lots of hazy ales, a dangerously good 12.8% barrel aged stout, and a pale ale on nitro which I don't think I have ever seen before. We did a few tasters and a few full pours and everything we tried was fantastic. The taproom is spacious, airy, lots of plants and natural light which gave it a relaxed vibe. It was a Friday afternoon and was pleasantly full, with some of the bartenders passionately talking New York sports with some of the regulars. The friendly employees, the amazing beer, the well designed taproom, its location right across from an old train station in quaint downtown Millington... all of this together made for a perfect first visit. We live too far away to come back anytime soon, but we bought some beer to go to tide us over, and will definitely mention Oakflower to others when asked for brewery recommendations in North Jersey.
