I'm from South Jersey and have been to very few breweries in North Jersey, so I put out the call on Reddit asking for recommendations for a weekend trip up north. Oakflower, just opened in 2022, was recommended time and time again, so we made this our first stop. I'm pleased to say it absolutely lived up to the hype. You can tell a brewery is serious about their beer when they don't offer flights or any kind of flavored seltzers. They are concentrating on making the best beer they can and it shows. 11 beers on tap with lots of hazy ales, a dangerously good 12.8% barrel aged stout, and a pale ale on nitro which I don't think I have ever seen before. We did a few tasters and a few full pours and everything we tried was fantastic. The taproom is spacious, airy, lots of plants and natural light which gave it a relaxed vibe. It was a Friday afternoon and was pleasantly full, with some of the bartenders passionately talking New York sports with some of the regulars. The friendly employees, the amazing beer, the well designed taproom, its location right across from an old train station in quaint downtown Millington... all of this together made for a perfect first visit. We live too far away to come back anytime soon, but we bought some beer to go to tide us over, and will definitely mention Oakflower to others when asked for brewery recommendations in North Jersey.

A bit of a tight parking lot. For food their website reads, "We always have a tasty selection of guacamole, various salsas, and chips from our amazing friends down the road at Marcy's Kitchen in Gillette. We also generally will have food trucks parked directly in front of the brewery on Fridays and Saturdays (along with the odd Thursday and Sunday)." But outside of some personal snacks that some people brought I did not see anyone with food when I was there. The place looks amazing. It is much larger than I expected and the outdoor space, though limited, is great if you brought a furry friend. In the end, however, it is a brewery and it all comes down to the quality of the beer. Though their range isn't broad the quality is in the outlier space. Maybe in the top 3% if you really count all the offerings I have been to in NJ.

Once again Yelp did not disappoint! Stopped in for a pint and had to have a few to taste some of the best Hazy action on this coast. All were soft and tropical with a hint of sweetness... hop variation mixed up the flavors. Nice joint, nice people, nice beers!

Stopped into Oakflower Brewery for a quick beer on Valentine's Day, 02/14/25, to kill time & since we were in the area picking up furniture for our new place. The ambiance was very relaxing & floral. Loved the variety of beers they had on tap! A variety of hazy, hoppy, a few seltzers, & a sour. They even had 2 limited edition beers that were from collaborations with other local breweries! The staff was also very welcoming & friendly. We were able to sample quiet a few varieties! The only downside was they do not do flights, but you can get a full pour if you prefer not getting a flight! Would definitely come back to check the place out if we are in the area! Would be a good potential venue for the group that I am a part of, Central Girls Pint Out!

Got beers to go - fantastic hazy IPA options. Cozy taproom, nothing fancy. Would stop in again if I was in the area.

Very pretty brewery I am to with my wife! A lot of nice beer offerings which my wife really enjoyed. The ambiance is that of a busy coffee shop vibe but the service was excellent and everyone was always smiling. Definitely a place if you wanna enjoy a quiet beer along the railroad.

Surprise find of the day. Actually not it was actually introduced to be from another beer lover. Stopped in because it is near where my son's baseball team practices. I enjoyed an ipa and a brown ale. Hope to visit again!

This must be one of the best IPA-offering breweries in NJ (I may be biased as their entire selection are NE IPA's - hazy and super juicy, yumm). Interesting location next to a train station with some street parking next door - almost feels like this is a spot for those "in the know" (i.e.locals). Cozy and modern inside, staff is super friendly . We stopped by on an early Friday evening and it was about to get really crowded,so it's apparent that the brewery is loved by many-and for a good reason! Definitely recommend to stop by and try. Btw,they don't have food inside, but there was a Cousin Lobster foodtruck parked in front when we were there.

One of my favorite New Jersey breweries. Always a nice selection of beer styles on tap. Cans to go as well. Friendly staff and owners. Relaxing atmosphere in the tasting room.

Nice, clean microbrewery in front of Long Hill station with around 8 beers and a seltzer on tap. They have bar stools, indoor seating as well as few tables on front patio. They don't have food but allow outside food and also have food trucks in front on certain days (check their website for food trucks schedule). We went on a Friday Eve, sat on the patio, ordered fries from the food truck and tried their pilsner, lager and seltzer. Everything was great and we had good time. Will definitely go again.

My daughter, wife, and I were happy we made the trip. Oakflower is located in Millington across from the Millington Station. We found free parking on the street just outside the brewery. The tap room at Oakflower is small, with a tiny bar area. Four-person Tables and chairs are placed throughout the tap room. It was cosy and comfortable, with the late afternoon sun providing warmth through the large glass windows. The tap list is small, with about ten beers. We chatted briefly with the friendly tap server before ordering two flights. Our server explained that flights were limited to two 4 oz tasters so patrons could enjoy the beer cold. I like that. My wife had a flight of two New England pale ales (Ring 6 and Borrowed Time), while I had a flight that included a Kellerbier called Breeze and a Kölsch called Station. We finished that flight and ordered a second flight. My wife ordered a flight of two IPAs, the Ringboiz: Internet Cicerone and Double Ring. I sampled some of her beers. They are as good as some Troon and Root + Branch NEIPA I have tried. I had the First Cup for my second flight, an Oatmeal stout conditioned on Burundian coffee from Barrister Coffee House and Lammy, a Munich-style Helles lager. Barrister Coffee House is a cafe and roastery in Basking Ridge. My daughter didn't have any beer of her own. She chose to sample what we had. This first visit was a positive experience. I want to go back.

Delicious Czech lager and Koelsch at this new microbrewery, they had 9 taps going when we visited, pouring 4oz for $3 or 12-14oz for about $7. Appreciate that you can make your own flight for a reasonable price! Also tried their porter (very good) and pale ale (too grapefruit-y for us). Enjoy your beer in their beautiful newly renovated interior with a long bar and tables (not a dark dingy hall in an industrial park like so many others). Unfortunately the interior is all concrete etc. so the noise level was unbearable and there were not all that many people. If the weather is fine you can drink on their open porch and patio. Oakflower (I think they write it as one word) will sell you a bag of chips, and there's a tiny Chinese take-out place nearby. If you time your Saturday visit just right, you can get food from the café across the street.

From start to finish, the experience was outstanding. Our server was attentive and professional, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and quietly classy--ideal for a relaxed lunch and conversation. I started with the Candy Roaster Squash & Coconut Soup, a vegan dish with a warm, sweet, and hearty flavor profile. It was absolutely perfect on a cold winter day. For my entrée, I ordered the Brewer's Burger with pepper jack cheese, caramelized onions, pickles, lettuce, tomato, rosemary aioli, and a side of frites. The flavors came together beautifully--salty, sweet, and savory notes all working in harmony. Truly a dance in your mouth. One additional detail worth noting: the gender-neutral accessible restroom was spotless and had a very pleasant odor. It was top-notch, just like everything else about this restaurant.
