Drifting Back to Lions Roar for Sure!…read more We ended the night at Lions Roar Brewing in Westfield and what a way to cap off an evening. The service was excellent -- friendly, attentive, and on point all night. The craft beer selection had some real creativity on tap. We were disappointed to hear the mango brew had run out -- that one sounded like a winner -- but the Mexican and lime brew more than made up for it. Bright, flavorful, and refreshing, it was a great pour that kept us coming back for more. But the real showstopper of the night? Drifting Back. This four-piece band was absolutely exceptional -- tight, talented, and packed with great tunes. They had the room in the palm of their hands all night. If you ever see them on the schedule here, don't miss it. A minor gripe about the sold-out mango brew aside, this was a fantastic night out at Lions Roar. We'll absolutely be back.

"NO FOOD HERE - BRING YOUR OWN FOOD"…read more Found this from Google Maps and tried this brewery . Google had good reviews and yeah . This was lived upto expectations . Nice location. Close to other restaurants. Parking can be challenging . I had to pay and park few minutes walk . Ambience is good . They had live bands some days . Lots of seats to sit and drink. There are both indoor and outdoor seating . In summer outdoor seating could have insects / mosquitoes and hence we had to move to inside seating . IPA was too good ! Love the fresh taste of hazy IPA. Service can be better . IPA closer about 10$ which is slightly expensive than other sports bars . First time . I didn't know we can bring our own food. . Went there and had nothing to eat and ordered a peanut packet . Lots of others got pizzas and other food from neighborhood, which is a great option. Good experience overall . 4 stars

I truly love breweries and this is a great one!…read more I've been to hundreds of breweries all across the USA and New Jersey has some of the best ones. I've been wanting to come here for a while now but didn't get the chance to until last week. It's in a great location and the brewery itself is open and vibey as can be. We got there about an hour before closing so we didn't end up getting to listen to the music that was playing as they were packing up as we came. I hope we get there earlier next time as we love listening to live music as we sip excellent beers. The beers were spectacular. I had the Local IPA and my gf had the Sour City: POG. The server was very welcoming and friendly. There was probably 8-10 people there when we came and everyone was happy, smiling, and enjoying themselves and their beers. I look forward to coming back and trying more of your beers. Thanks ;)

The taproom, by contrast, is a fraction of the size of the outdoor space, but equally well decorated and chill. Several high top tables, a few seats at a small bar, a view of the brewing tanks... Most importantly the beer is excellent. My girlfriend and I stopped in on an early Friday afternoon in August and had a few 4 and 7 oz pours of different beers. Tall Oaks recently won a few awards in the inaugural New Jersey Brewers Cup, so we tried a few of their award winning beers, among others. My personal two favorites were the Cottage (English Session Ale on nitro) which won bronze in the European amber/dark lager category, and the Influencing Hope (hazy IPA) which won bronze in the hazy IPA category. One nitpicky thing: the tv displayed only part of the menu, and the full menu was printed on several stained and natty sheets of paper on clipboards. Didn't quite match the elegance elsewhere in the brewery. On top of the great vibes and great beer, there is ample parking, two immaculate bathrooms, friendly service and great people at the helm (Mike and Chelsey) who put real thought and pride into their beer and creating a space for the community. This is definitely one of the top breweries in NJ.

The food: I had the turkey burger with bacon and avocado and truffle fries. The burger was cooked to perfection. It was not dry, but juicy without being under cooked. The bacon was perfect and the slices of avocado were fresh. My friend ordered the Ham Benedict. I didn't taste it but she said it was very good. The eggs looked perfectly done. That came with a side of potatoes. I think this will be my new brunch spot when I come to visit North Jersey. I recommend them.
