Steve and I got to try Wet Ticket Brewing recently and we were impressed with the beer we had! The beer that we enjoyed was the Trolley Hopper IPA. With this beer we detected notes of citrus, hoppiness, bitter and sweet. It was a fairly well balanced IPA. We did notice the bitterness most of all with this beer but that was alright because the flavor profile was a bit different than many other kinds of IPA'S in our adventures trying out breweries all across the country. It seems like Downtown Rahway is becoming a nice destination for food and drink after having lunch with my colleague two doors down at Nancy's Townhouse. We learned about this nearby establishment from our server, and some of us tried out their watermelon beer made with real watermelon, which was ridiculously good. Named for the individuals who ran for office during the 1930s with the intent to repeal prohibition, Wet Ticket Brewing is a small local microbrewery on Main Street, where we were welcomed by the owner and head brewer, Tim, who invited us in even though it wasn't open to the public until 4 p.m. The atmosphere is open and friendly. Big windows make the place feel welcoming. Patrons find themselves at the counter, reading a large chalkboard of the various alcoholic concoctions available, posted high above the heads of the servers. The list includes the poetic Spanktown, Grapefruit, Kick-the-Bucket Brown, Watermelon Wheat, and Kolsch. One can even buy a "growler," or jug, to take home. You can also bring in food or have it delivered to the brewery, which is a great alternative. Rumor has it that a mandatory tour through the back room with the fermenter tank where the beer is made before returning to the tap room for samples needs to be made on the next visit. read more

I absolutely recommend this place. The beer was phenomenal. The flights were very reasonably priced. Small brewery in the middle of downtown Rahway, parking right across the street and the area is really built up from what I remember. Definitely go here if you're in the area. Use GPS. Rahway for a brewery? Yeah, why not. I was in the area for a recent function when I realized there's a brewery here in town. Wet Ticket, I believe, is the only brewery in Rahway. They happened to be celebrating their second anniversary and the crowds were jammed packed to the doors. The staff was very friendly, when I did get their attention, due to three-deep at the bar. They seemed very knowledgeable, but due to the packed house, conversation was limited. I tried two of their own, a Porter and a Kölsch. Both were excellent. Drafts ranged from$5-$7 depending on ABV content and size. I've been charged incorrectly while running a tab, so make sure to check the itemized bill before you pay. There are always new beers to try, as well as tried-and-true staples. Decent spot to grab a beer and chat with a friends, but if your looking for beer with some flavors that will blow you away this isn't it. None of the beers have a description on the wall, you have to check that out online. My cousin and I got a flight each and nothing wowed us or tasted as described. There was a watermelon beer that unfortunately isn't in season yet that the employee said is her favorite..luckily a regular overheard and told us that there was still some cans at a local liquor store. I have been to Wet Ticket at least ten times now and the beer is always good and the prices are spot on. Pints are $5-$6. They have so many options, from ales to IPAs to stouts, there's really a beer for everyone. My personal favorite is a seasonal, the Scarecrow Juice, which is a pumpkin ale, but is not overly pumpkin like other pumpkin beers out there. My second favorite is a tie between the oatmeal stout and fully juiced ipa. Depending on the day of the week you go it is either crazy busy and you can't find a table or super quiet and you can have the place to yourself. This is a nice small local brewery and you can even see the fermenter tanks in the back (which I always find cool to see for some reason). Nonetheless, they have a variety of craft brews and seasonal selections with varying abv. Some of these pours can get you messed up so be aware but that is my general thought when I visit most local breweries. Wet Ticket has something for everybody to be honest. They have ciders, stouts, IPAs, etc so you can't go wrong unless you don't like super hoppy IPAs or beer in general. I would visit this place again. read more

Staff very friendly. Wet Ticket Brewing was within our radar. I had a great time enjoying flights of beer and giving my two cents to my wife. I can report that anything I like, she did not like. Anything she liked, I did not like. Does this difference of opinion make for bad beer. Absolutely not. We just have different taste and this is the fun part. Solid brewery with helpful staff. Owner played some Grateful Dead for me. Very nice and cool. Wife and I tasted all the beers. Fun afternoon. We had fun just shooting the breeze with what we both liked and passed on. There is definitely something for everyone. Few things to remember. You must take a tour before trying beers. This is a must or "no beers". Next stop: Wet Ticket. I've been here a handful of times now and gotta say that it is becoming one of my favorite breweries in the area. And for good reason. #1. They have lots of beer to choose from. It's all about the variety at Wet Ticket. You can order anything from a Watermelon Wheat beer to a Pecan Porter to a New England Style IPA. Quality, along with quantity is what makes these guys stand out. They've already won me over with their stouts and their IPAs - my two favorite beer styles #2. The staff is super cool. They're knowledgeable and seem to be having a great time serving up your suds. Even when it gets busy, you don't go long without a drink. #3. The location is perfect. Downtown Rahway is definitely amongst one of the up-and-coming downtowns with walkable restaurants, bars and shops. Having a brewery right in the center of it all is the icing on the cake. As per NJ law, no food is served at the brewery; however, you have a number of great options nearby that you can bring in including pizza, Peruvian, and sushi. The space is a bit small meaning it can get crowded when it's busy. Parking is street or there is a garage right across the way. Stop in for a flight or a pint and enjoy. P.S. What an adorable brewery! We stopped here with our friends right before it was time to fly home *sad face* The inside was clean, and they had some picnic tables for seating, and chairs at the bar. We live about an hour from here and this is the second year we drove just to get their Watermelon beer! I have tried a lot of watermelon beers and this is by far the BEST. Most have a very fake "jolly rancher" sort of flavor , not this one! It actually tastes like fresh watermelon. Earthy yet fruity and deliciously light and refreshing . It is the perfect summer beer but be careful it goes down very easy! Another one I tried there that I enjoyed was the Gal at Sea. Not as tasty but good. The bartenders are nice although we did wait quite awhile for our second round when it wasn't crazy busy but they were friendly and gave some good suggestions. They also have great swag for sale at very reasonable prices. We also found out today that you can park for free in the garage across the street for about two hours I think. read more

Lots of IPA (not a fan), but there were a few selections I loved. I tried a flight. The Pecan Porter had a roasted, nutty flavor similar to a good coffee. I got the imperial oatmeal stout both with and without coconut. I can definitely say the coconut version was my favorite of the 2 and it reminded me of a Mounds bar. My 4th was their pilsner and I was pleasantly surprised. I expected this to be pretty generic, but there was a sweet, fruity taste which I loved. My expectations for this brewery were on the lower end (I don't hear that much about it up in North Jersey) but I was blown away by their beer. First off, they had a great selection of different styles, not just all IPA's. The tap room is a nice size, especially for being on the main drag of the town (it gets really noisy the acoustics aren't great). The watermelon beer was very good, and actually made with real watermelon, not extract. A lot of times they have a jolly rancher fake taste to them. Really enjoyed their west coast IPA, a style that has been forgotten with the NEIPA craze. I can't wait to come back! read more

I would like to start by saying - I do not drink, I like to order drinks and have a sip or two and make my husband finish the drink! We were at the Asbury Park Beerfest and my husband loved the Imperial Stout, so here we are today! They are right across the street from a parking deck with free 2 hour parking at certain times. Due to NJ State law you must take a tour of the facility before you can drink (don't worry it takes 2 minutes) It's a spacious place with numerous tables and benches. They do not have food, but you can bring outside food and there are several menus from local restaurants that will deliver to Wet Ticket. For a Sunday afternoon it's nicely full with groups of friends and a couple of families too! There are no TV's or blaring music; it's place to enjoy your beer and the company you keep! Great local brewery! I've had their beers at some local bars (ie. Whole Foods bar in Clark) and I couldn't wait to check out the brewery itself to get a taste of some more options. We ordered flights for ~$7 and tried 2 of the beers with fruit in the name and 2 bolder crafts - excellent!! I came during some street festival in Rahway and they had live music but I'm not sure if that's a regular occurrence. I look forward to additional events there as I do know they do a beer and yoga event every month which I've been trying to coordinate with friends. Wet Ticket is just so friendly and inviting. I love how they're located in the downtown of a rapidly improving area near the train station to NYC. It's a laid back area. The employees are all great. The beers are pretty standard. You can get your IPA, porter, Kölsch, blonde ale, etc... All of them taste fresh. My favorite was the Grapefruit IPA. The tasting room is just totally beautiful. It used to be an antique store before being a brewery. Before that it was a Woolworth. Apparently they still have the old Woolworth floor. It's vintage and awesome. read more

The Watermelon Wheat, Taste Like Summer is my wife's favorite we drink it all summer long. Plenty of restaurants nearby for some good eats. Stopped by Wet Ticket to sample their beers. So excited to have a brewery open in town! It's located across the street from the city parking deck and one block away from the train station so if you want to be able to come have some beers and not worry about driving you can do so! You have to do a tour first if you plan on sitting and sampling their beers, though it's not necessary if you are coming to just buy a growler. We did the tour with one of their owners and what a great guy! The other owner who is the brewmaster was also very friendly and I sincerely wish the both of them a lot of success. Ok so for the beers... we tried a flight which included their Kolsch, Hoppy Kolsch, West Coast double IPA and their stout. I can definitely say that I really loved all their beers. I'm not a stout drinker but theirs was awesome. If I had to choose a fav though, it would be the Hoppy Kolsch but I would happy drink any of their ales. The space is also really beautiful, and you are welcome to bring food if you want something to eat while you drink their beers. I have a feeling I'll be here quite regularly. read more

Really nice brewery with a cool vibe ! The beers are nice however didn't find at par compare to some micro brewery around which are pushing the boundaries by creating some very special beers. You will find here the classic IPas. The double IPA is very good for and a clean hoppy taste. The coffee stout. As it should be, heavy on the lips with a great coffee surrounding which last. Having driven past the brewery before, and a recommendation from a friend, I contacted Wet Ticket. Aside from pretty reasonable pricing for room rental, they blew my expectations away. 1) They let us get in a little earlier than anticipated 2) The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. 3) Great beer 4) Great space. Honestly, I would hold another event here anytime I need to. I also plan on coming back to sample the beers I haven't tried yet.. As a guy who loves his beer, this place is great. Tim and Al do a wonderful job of creating a warm and inviting atmosphere at their brewery. The beers are spot on. If you love IPAS, Tim makes some great ones. The Dream Ticket is more malty than piney but, delicious. Spanktown is very good. Their Kolsch and Hoppy Kolsch are excellent. If you like stouts the oatmeal stout is tasty along with their pecan porter. Very convenient from NYC, just 5 stops on NJ Transit in Rahway.
