Awesome Brewery! The inside seating area is very spacious with lots of seating around the bar and outside. The service was quick and responsive, even know the bar had a lot of people. Great place to just chill and enjoy great beers. We tried a flight variety and they were really good. We ended up getting 2 more brews from the beers that we tried. They are very creative with their beer ingredients and the names. Great place. We will definitely be back when we are back in the area. Only negative is the parking lot is very small.

Wow...just wow. Double Tap makes some great beer. The first time Wifey and I came here we were hooked. Wifey's a big fan of IPAs (I hate them) and they always have a solid line up of IPAs and non-IPAs. I'm pretty picky about my beer so for me to keep going back means they have some delicious options. Last time I went I a great flight and Wifey and I shared some cheese and crackers - it was a fun date...

The vibe here is very chill. I got a flight to share with my boyfriend. You choose the type of beer and they make a flight for you. The place only serves alcohol so if you want snacks or anything, there is a food truck outside, or you can bring your own guilt free. I even saw a pizza delivery guy deliver pizza to this place. There was a live band when I went which is good but a little too loud. We were yelling in each other's ears to hear. There are also mini games like darts as well. The age demographic was primarily people in their 40-50s. They played and sang good songs.

A little craft brewery that opened up recently in the old post office, they have an homage area to two famous celebrity postmen out of TV, Newman and the guy from Cheers. One downside is the building has limited parking, so you either park in the grass / mud lot beside the building once the lot is filled, or park behind the Paulie G's lot if it's the evening and that place is closed for the night. Inside, take the tour and then you can start sampling the beers including by flight or by glass. Sales of some large growlers in the cooler to the side. No food here as per the ordinances, but you can order pizza from the place across the street. A lot of board games and a fair amount of seating that you can move around to accommodate larger groups if you get there early enough. Super clean bathrooms. 16 different drinks here, 15 of which are beers and the last is some kind of juice. I really did enjoy the beer that had a hint of pineapple in it, and their red ale was not something I enjoyed, left that for others. The hazy IPA was great. Open at lunch most days until after dinner. Fortunately someone in our group had a connection to one of the partners that started the business. They came over and described some of the beers and talked about the history behind the partnership which was pretty cool. Not sure if one of them is there everyday, barkeeps were professional and quick. Feels like they have some regulars already! I do like that they kept the place a little better lit than others like Twin Elephant, and it does get pretty noisy here. Not sure if they sell multipacks of all the beers to try but guess I will find days to try them all one at a time over a few trips! How to remind myself to bring snacks though, can't always order pizza from across the street and be drinking. One review said dog friendly inside, I guess that's possible since they don't serve food but it seems a little odd given that they are producing beer. Will have to ask the next time I am there.

Double Tap Brewing was a really cool location. The beer choices were very unique and delicious. Also, I went on a Thursday and found out they do trivia night, which I would totally want to go back for. Also, I drank root beer, which felt silly at a brewery, but it tasted really good.

Occupying the former Whippany post office building just off NJ Route 10, Double Tap Brewing offers an excellent variety of tasty beers in their cozy but comfortable tasting room. I was really impressed with the owners' homage to the US Postal Service throughout, with decor and beers inspired by well-known (real-life or fictional) postal employees - Benjamin Franklin who served as the nation's inaugural Postmaster General, Clifford C. Clavin, Jr. from the Cheers television series, and Newman from the Seinfeld television series. Double Tap features an incredible 15 beers (and a hard seltzer for gluten free customers) on-tap in its tasting room - all of which are brewed on site - from American Light Lager and Session IPAs on the lighter side to the ever-popular Pale Ales and IPAs to darker Coffee Porter and Stouts in "taster" (typically 4-5 oz), "half pour" (typically 10-12 oz), and "full pour" (typically 16 oz) servings. The wide variety of beers on tap at any given time caters to almost every beer drinker's palate and mood. I enjoyed the refreshing Low Hanging Fruit, a Session IPA brewed with Mosaic, Citra, and Cashmere hops and featuring a reasonable 5.5% ABV, and the exceptionally smooth and tasty Hello Jerry!, a barrel-aged imperial stout packing an astonishing 13.5% ABV, giving them 5 out of 5 stars. I'm definitely excited to go back and try the other varieties on-tap. Prices vary depending upon size, variety, and alcohol content. Double Tap offers flights of "taster" samples to sample several beers at a time and they do offer beer 'to go' by asking the bartender to fill 32 oz crowlers (a giant 32 oz aluminum can filled with beer straight from the tap and sealed, preserving the beer's carbonation for about three weeks) or BYO growlers (a glass container filled with beer straight from the tap and capped off, preserving the beer for a few days) of anything on-tap. The parking lot in front of the building can fill up quickly, but additional parking is available in the lot behind Paulie G's deli and Johnny's Pizzeria on Mt. Pleasant Avenue. PRO TIP: New Jersey's draconian liquor laws prohibit microbreweries from serving food, but light snacks (locally-produced artisan pretzels and potato chips) are available for sale. You can also bring your own food or order delivery from the pizzeria across the street or via your favorite delivery app.

Nice selection of lagers, not just IPAs. The "boot" Italian Pilsner was ok, the black lager was very good. Also a fan of the "hatchet" American pale ale. Pints $7, half pints $5, flights of 4 about $12. On a Saturday afternoon the place was packed with drinkers, dogs and toddlers running around. I love kids and dogs .. but not so much in bars. Noise level was very high. They did a beautiful job of changing around the old post office to be a micro brewery. But parking is severely limited ouch. BYO food. Small bags of potato chips are $2.

I'm gonna tap into this place again. It's a very down-to-earth brewery, new to the scene after this building was abandoned for years. Without a bar left in downtown Whippany, this fills the void perfectly. An array of very good beers, and when I went there just happened to be a pint on sale for the same price as a half. "Tap pout" they said, and I tapped into a delicious stout. I won't say it's the absolute best beer I've ever had anywhere at all, but most worthy of my money and a relaxing place to spend some time. I'm gonna recommend my office gets a happy hour here. (Typical NJ downside: gotta bring your own food if you want anything of substance. CHANGE THE LAW NJ!!)

Really great new brewery. Cozy environment, well behaved dog friendly inside, can bring in your own food (and they have small chips/pretzels for purchase) and most importantly the beer is fantastic and they have a large variety of brews. Loved the saison, IPAs and stouts!

Great classic beer! No out there IPAs or Sours (or not yet - not that there's anything wrong with a crazy IPA). The bartender was very friendly and gave us a bit of history on the building; it was an old post office! Will definitely be going back

    A very varied flight

Second visit to Double Tap. Consistently great beers that don't go off in pursuit of something not beer. When a microbrewery transcends me to my youth, backpacking across Europe... I will be back ... often.

Pizza from Johnny's (Delivery / Pickup ) available just across the street

The space on the first floor is divided into a lively bar area with plenty of TVs and a slightly quieter main dining room with comfortable booths and tables. There is also seating on an outdoor terrace on the second floor and a few tables in front of the restaurant on South Street if you're up for dining al fresco. It's a terrific option in Morristown that's sophisticated enough for a date on the outdoor terrace when the weather cooperates or a pre-theater meal in the dining room, yet casual enough for beers and appetizers while watching a game in the bar area. The menu captures the essence of modern American comfort food. Whether you're grabbing the Stirling Burger ($18) -- made from a tasty short rib and brisket blend -- or splurging on the Grilled New York Strip ($48) topped with crabmeat fries, the quality is evident. They are also great with dietary restrictions. Between the various poultry, fish, and vegetarian options on the menu and the kitchen's willingness to make moderate accommodations in any other dish, there's something for everyone. What really makes this place stand out, though, is the service. We recently celebrated my niece's 21st birthday here, and our server made it memorable by honoring her milestone birthday by playfully asking for her ID EVERY SINGLE TIME she ordered a drink. It became a running joke for the night and made the occasion feel extra special. The only reason it's not a full 5 stars for me is that both sides of the main floor can get pretty loud when it's packed and the prices are a bit on the higher side for casual dining. We will definitely be back! PRO TIP #1: Stirling Tavern offers a Happy Hour Monday through Friday between 3pm and 6pm, which features specials on certain cocktails, wines, beers, and light snacks. You must be seated at the bar to take advantage of the promotional pricing. If you enjoy a good Old Fashioned, try the JB ($10), made with Four Roses bourbon, blood orange amaro, orange & angostura bitters. PRO TIP #2: Stirling Tavern does not have a private parking lot, but there is plenty of paid on-street parking on South Street or Maple Avenue. Bring change or use the ParkMobile app for the meters ($1 per hour) Monday through Saturday from 8am til 6PM; all street meters are free Monday through Saturday after 6pm and all day on Sunday. If you can't find a spot on the street, paid parking is also available in the Morristown Parking Authority Lot #8 (@ 10 Franklin Street) and Vail Parking Area (@ 110 South Street). FREE on-street parking is located on MacCulloch Avenue, just two blocks from Stirling Tavern.

From start to finish, the experience was outstanding. Our server was attentive and professional, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and quietly classy--ideal for a relaxed lunch and conversation. I started with the Candy Roaster Squash & Coconut Soup, a vegan dish with a warm, sweet, and hearty flavor profile. It was absolutely perfect on a cold winter day. For my entrée, I ordered the Brewer's Burger with pepper jack cheese, caramelized onions, pickles, lettuce, tomato, rosemary aioli, and a side of frites. The flavors came together beautifully--salty, sweet, and savory notes all working in harmony. Truly a dance in your mouth. One additional detail worth noting: the gender-neutral accessible restroom was spotless and had a very pleasant odor. It was top-notch, just like everything else about this restaurant. My girlfriend and I stopped in on a Friday evening during a weekend trip to High Point State Park. They only had nine beers on tap but there was nice variety and excellent quality in the lineup. Several IPA's and hazy ales but also a grisette, a German pilsner, an English mild and a milk stout. They don't offer flights. Interestingly enough, as much as I enjoy flights at breweries, I've actually found that not offering them is usually a good sign as it is the mark of a brewery that is serious about beer and knows what they are doing. This was true for Autodidact as each beer was excellent. Five star beer but four star taproom. 6 o'clock on a Friday night but only about seven other people there so it was kind of dead.
