History lovers will enjoy this revolutionary themed brewery in Morristown, NJ, a town which has ties to the continental army's winter encampment in 1777 as well as 1779 - 1780. Many of Glenbrook's beers are named after the revolutionary period, such as their Midnight Ride American Nitro Stout. And be sure to check out the "paintings" of the staff members on their website. You won't be disappointed. Parking is a challenge as the brewery is located in the downtown area without a dedicated parking lot. My girlfriend and I came on a Sunday afternoon and were only able to find street parking a few blocks away. The taproom itself is a beautiful warehouse style space with small decorative revolutionary flourishes, views of the brewing equipment, a long bar but no seating at the bar, long wooden tables and plenty of high top tables, and more than enough tv's to show NFL football. A side business called Salt Pepper Ketchup (a man selling food off a flattop grill and a fryer) was located in the corner. His food looked incredible but we didn't try any. The beer was pretty good, all decent renditions of their respective styles. We each tried a flight and enjoyed what we had. Good beer, good food, football on the tv, friendly staff, decent sized crowd but not obnoxiously full... all in all great Sunday vibes and we would totally come back. read more

Visited Glenbrook Brewery with friends and their kids on a Saturday afternoon. Placed in downtown Morristown, it was tucked next to the Mavis Tire and we were able to park in the municipal parking lot and have a short walk over. Your standard brewery fair - industrial interior with long tables and benches. The menu had a selection of kolsch beer, sours, red ale, and pilsner. All the beers were very good and tasted like the actual type of beer they claimed to be - eg: a pilsner taster like a pilsner. As a note, this brewery is also family friendly and dog friendly! I enjoy trying new breweries and their crafted concoctions, and I love the Morristown area, but I only learned about Glenbrook Brewery because I saw that one of my favorite local musicians was playing there each month. I finally made it to see him and to check the place out on a recent weekend. The brewery was in the heart of the city, only a short walk from the town square. There was no parking lot, but we were able to get a close street spot rather easily. There were 3 large tables outside the main entrance. The brewery beyond it looked rather small but was actually spacious with loads of picnic tables, high-tops, bar space, and a lofted party room. We got seats at the bar and ordered tasting flights, which included 4 brews of choice, each in 5-ounce glasses. I sampled the following: 1.) Tempe Wick Farmhouse Sour Mango Agave - slightly sour, tart, and fruity with notes of mango and apple 2.) Ford Mansion Basement Barrel Porter - offering chocolate and cherry notes, high ABV but not too heavy or filling 3.) St. Patrick's Irish Red Ale - smooth and easy to drink, a bit watery, rather light 4.) Soiree Rose Hard Seltzer - tasted like fermented red grapes and I did not enjoy it I also had a sip of the Green Mountain Boys Spruce Run Ale, which felt more like a winter brew than a spring one. It was soothing, rustic, and woodsy. Lastly, I sampled the Morristown Hazy IPA, which was a rather standard version of a hazy. Of these, the sour was by far my favorite, with the others being decently enjoyable as well. I was thrilled to see that I could order another 5-ounce glass of my beer of choice without having to get a full pint, so I got an additional small pour of the sour favorite. The bar staff was very friendly and enjoyable to speak with. The brewery did not have food beyond small packaged snacks, but did allow folks to bring their own treats. In fact, there were several parties happening, each displaying outside food. Because there were so many groups, there were also a good number of children and dogs around the brewery, though most were well-behaved. The bar also had board games to keep the young (and older) ones entertained. Once the music got started, we were disappointed in the acoustics of the space. We could barely hear the musician's tunes or lyrics over the crowd, and that had been our main reason for driving out to the venue. Our take was that if they were going to have live music, the volume should be turned up to account for the noise in the room. Overall, Glenbrook Brewery provided a nice experience, but a few details, like a way to minimize the noise, could have improved our visit. read more

A HUMONGOUS shout out to the lady who let us have a flight on one of their busiest days!!! Hugs, kisses, and blessings to her for the patience she had with us!! We came for Morristown's St Patrick's Day Parade and the place was busy but lucky for us, we came early enough and got a prime table. There was a lot of seating and I loved the long picnic benches artfully crafted with huge slabs of wood. The fixed seats were a little far from the table but I have a big belly so it worked. For my flight, I got the Morristown Hazy IPA, the Spill The Tea Iced Tea Lemonade, the St. Patrick's Irish Red Ale, and the Hard Winter Raspberry Wheat Beer. First off, what a great brewery overall. We walked in on Sunday to grab a beer for me and a sour for my girlfriend. The bartender was welcoming and friendly. The place itself was open and beautiful and everything a brewery should be. It also has a nice outside sitting area with plenty of picnic tables upon entering into the brewery. My friend and I had a nice evening out at Glenbrook Brewery. We met up at the brewery on a Thursday night around 8pm. It was not crowded at all. I appreciate that Glenbrook is open later because many breweries were closing around 8/9, so Glenbrook is a nice option for a later weekday evening out to grab a beer or two. First off, every review that says it is hard to find, is correct. Even knowing this info, I still had a hard time finding it. It is tucked away next to T-Mobile down an alleyway. It has some outdoor picnic tables down the alley and a good number of high tops and more picnic tables inside. The inside is very spacious and very cool looking. The bartender was very friendly and gave us a little background on the different types of beer they offer. We both decided to do a flight before we decided on a pint. Alas, not all of the beers were my favorite and I did not like their seltzer at all. I did however really enjoy their MacCulloch Kolsch so I got a pint of that. I do want to return to taste the other beer options I didn't get to try. The atmosphere of the brewery is excellent and I will definitely return to have another pint of the Kolsch and maybe try a different beer or two. We were invited to a 1 year old's birthday party...who would have thunk, that Glenbrook Brewery hosted. For a brewery, the place is definitely family friendly. There is a spot upstairs that is geared towards kids. The hosts had a balloon person making cool balloon whatevers. Anyhoot - the beer here is pretty darn good. I tried the two seasonal ones (one is a keeper) and bother were smooth. I am sad to report that the seltzers were not very good though. Staff was very nice! Very informative when you can't make up your mind. Definitely nice to try a sampler before buying a full pint. Not sure of pricing since it was a party and didn't have to shell out funds. Glenbrook produces several types of tasty and fresh beer on-site - including IPAs, ales, lagers. stouts, seasonally-inspired ales, and seltzers -- and rotates the selections on tap in the tasting room. Beers are available in 5 oz pours ($4-6), 16 oz pours ($6-8) or try a flight of four 5 oz pours ($15) to sample several and pick your favorite, then grab a 64 oz or 32 oz growler or cans to go. Food is not available directly from Glenbrook, but menus are available at the brewery for the many, many options in Morristown that will deliver to Glenbrook. I was excited to meet up with two former colleagues at Glenbrook on a recent Saturday afternoon around 3pm. The tasting room was packed when we arrived, with a couple of the long, picnic-style tables occupied by kids' birthday parties. I'm not sure what makes Glenbrook so popular with young families, but there were several groups enjoying tasty beers and pizza while their kids frolicked around the tasting room. There is a semi-private room on the second floor overlooking the tasting room that is available to be reserved in advance by reaching out to the brewery by email or phone. The three of us enjoyed our beers and agreed they earned a solid 4 out of 5 stars for their smooth, consistent flavors. I tried the Jacob Arnold's Porter and the Morristown Hazy IPA. Both were very tasty. The Porter lived up to its promise of robust chocolate and coffee flavors and the Hazy IPA didn't seem to be intentionally over-hopped to hide other flavor deficiencies. Had a great time here last Friday. I emailed a question about bringing food and the Manager responded within a few hours - super prompt and kind answer! It's a little tricky to find - they put a folding sign out in front to catch your eye - so make sure to keep your eyes open because it's tucked away a bit behind other buildings. We brought in some snacks from home and were able to hang out on a Friday afternoon inside. We tried a few of their beers, seltzers, and everything was super tasty! Definitely clean, welcoming, and fun. There were some board and card games piled up on the side - we came during a non-busy time, but I bet these guys can really get hopping later in the evenings. This is a really good brewery to visit if you are going to be in downtown Morristown. There are a lot of other restaurants and attractions right within walking distance. I went there because I was going to a concert at the Mayo Arts Center right afterwards. Normally breweries tend to either be located in an industrial park or in the downtown area. This one was sort of a mixture of both. You could tell it was an old industrial building, but it was right in town. At any rate, they re-invented the space beautifully. There was a very large initial investment. I liked the higher and picnic tables on the inside which were made from better wood. There was no service at the bar, and it was all tableservice. Hopefully that will change at some point because it's a nice bar. There was also no space for guys to just come and hang out. It's definitely better for groups. But I found the table service to be formal and very attentive. The beers are on par with most breweries in New Jersey. The best one I had was Minutemen IPA, which was tasted similar to a west coast. They have a crowler machine. As a sidenote, a lot of their themes were based upon the revolutionary war history in Morristown. Fort Nonsense Brewing in Denville already has that theme, so I would've liked to have seen this brewery to differentiate themselves a little bit more. read more

Six taps of revolutionary beer right now including two IPAs, an ale, a Kölsch, a porter and a mango seltzer. Flights of four 5oz pours are $15 ouch, 32oz crowlers to go are $13-15, 64oz growler fills $22-26. The tour is virtual and you should bring food! Kölsch was light, cloudy, nice - the gateway beer :) Colonial pale ale was refreshing, good. Very much liked the porter, near perfect. I'm not an ipa person so I'll spare you my opinion there lol except to say that their Motown IPA is less hoppy than their Ft Nonsense NE IPA. The rehabbed space behind T-Mo is super bright & clean with four big picnic tables plus a bunch of small high tables. Outside patio is opening up soon, that will be key. Chatted a while with the brewer & co-owner Heath T. who is planning good things like that patio, a filtration system for the cloudy Kölsch, more fermentation tanks and maybe someday even a lager beer. Operating a 15-barrel system right now, brewing once a week, needs more tanks. I visited at a quiet time - 4:15 on a weekday- so their current 90 minute limit didn't get me. read more

Love this place - it's so great that it's wheelchair accessible, plus dog and kid friendly. They allow outside food, and with lots of options nearby, there's something for everyone. We've even had a chance to meet the owners, and they're such nice guys. I normally order their hazy IPA, but my fiancé loves their Irish Red. Every week we give this place our business. Every week anywhere from 3-8 of the same people join us for Best Men Trivia on Wednesday. Every week we spend a good amount of money here. Every week we sit in the same area. Every week we order similar beers. And every week the red headed female manager is consistently rude and inept of service and people skills in some way, shape, or form. Tonight I brought my dog (at least 1 dog is there every week), and before you ask, yes he's a service dog, full stop. He let out two barks with about 30 seconds in between. The rude red head approached our table with an attitude (per usual) and told me "he can't bark like that or you can leave." Appalled at the way she decided to approach her repeat customer base, I decided to say nothing in that moment. Later on in the night, she was near the vicinity of our table again, I asked her to the side for a conversation. I led with, "you see us every week, you recognize my face, right?" Nope, she didn't want to know me. Okay, if that's how we want to begin the conversation, perfect. I proceeded to explain to her that every week she serves us, she's consistently rude, acts like we're a burden to her, and is just generally unpleasant. Apparently she is not a woman that can handle criticism or challenge, because she proceeded to tell me to "get the fuck out." I explained to her that although this is primarily a production facility (brewery), the minute she pours a beer and brings it to a table, it becomes a service establishment. I asked for her name and the owner, to which she refused and retaliated by calling the cops. Oh, she also lied to them and tried to claim I put my hands on her. Please, by all means, replay the tape. So, not only did she waste law enforcement's time this evening because she couldn't handle being told that she is a liability to this establishment, she drove out a pretty good chunk of repeat business (believe we will spread by word of mouth). Ownership should take heed to the feedback that their "management" in this girl does not know how to pour a wheat beer from a can, nor does she understand how to smile. She approaches serving tables as a chore, doesn't ever greet us with hospitality, and barely respects us as her core customer base (that's how you grow your business, right?). I can recall a time that we asked for water and she replied "you can get up and get it yourself." We'll spend our money elsewhere until an apology is received and the red head is disciplined. TL;DR: it's a clean place, I respect the operation, but the beer needs work (more depth and complexity). The seltzers are gross. The red headed hag is an abomination to the hospitality industry and ownership should cut ties before she continues to run every repeat customer (read: whole entire companies who go there after work) out of the door. Hello, new brew! My friend told me Morristown had its own place finally so I figured I had to go (followup to Revolution, which carries beer from everywhere). Figured I'd start with the more basic amber ale, so I ordered one on draft and... they poured it out of a can and told me after. I guess their keg had tapped but please tell me before? Because I'm paying a little more per pint for the tap variety. At least it was delicious, along with Jacob Arnold's Porter (notes of chocolate, maybe less so coffee despite their description). The place itself is your standard brewery, a lot of wide-open room inside without walling off the tanks so you can see everything as it's made. Your usual knowledgeable bartenders are happy to bring you whatever, keep open tabs per person, whatever it takes to move your day along. But yeah, they're still pretty new (2021) and so they're still building up their supplies and varieties. May be worth a return at some point to see how they're coming along! read more

DUDE! When I tell you the 38 min drive we took to get here, plus the hour wait time was worth it ? IT WAS WORTH IT!!!!! I'm huge fan of beer so I was super excited to try this cute place out. Granted we did come on its second weekend of Grand opening, so of course it was busy. But honestly it wasn't that bad. You're able to buy drinks before being seated & play board games to kill time. Now, let's talk about beer: 1. Colonial Ale- it's lighter version of an IPA, so much so you can taste the crisp of the hops but it won't dry out your pallet like an IPA would. Very light, almost airy? It was exquisite, this one was my favorite. 2. Porter- this is more of a stout- malty, chocolaty, coffee pállate with a smooth almost carbonated finish. At first I was super stoked to try it because I'm a Guinness girl, but this one personally, its 3-tiers down. It needs less of the coffee and chocolate note, add a little more roasted unmalted barley and a nitro pour with a different ratio of Nitrogen and Carbon Dioxide to give it that smooth, creamy balance. 3. IPA- this one has a similar taste to Kane. High notes of citrus and tropical fruits, also crisp. They hit it out of the ball park with this one. No complaints, it was perfect. 4. Mango Seltzer- this one tasted like a skinny version of a smirnoff ice original. It was kind of flat and really sweet. Perhaps if the vanilla notes were dropped a little and added some lemon lime, maybe that will help kick in the mango. Def needs to be carbonated more before serving, this way it won't be flat and will be nice and bubbly as you sip away. Personally, this was my least favorite. 5. Shandy- this one tasted a little similar to leinenkugel. Instead of the aroma being dominated by lemon it's more mango mixed with ipa. Wow! This was also made to perfection, such a refreshing summery drink. For sure they hit this one out of the ball park, no complaints here. This one was my husbands favorite. Service ? Stupendous. Gabby our waitress delivered superb service. She was a complete sweetheart. She told us about the menu step by step and told us our beer options. Once our beer flights arrived she re-explained them to us, which was great because I like to know what I'm drinking. A few moments after sampling the beers, one of the owners Conner came by and humbly asked for our opinion. At first we just thought he was another server checking up on us, but after sometime of chatting he formally introduced himself as the owner. He told us how they started the process 5 years ago in a small garage, which explains the layout- its so New York! Honestly, him coming over and spending time with us meant a lot and won over our hearts. He's so amazing, his energy, his soul, his knowledge of the beer was so intriguing we didn't want him to leave haha. My husband and I are both in love with this place.
