I had been wanting to try this place a couple months back while in the area but we ended up getting sidetracked with several other breweries and we never got the chance to. So I made it a point to stop by the next time I was in the area. Upon arriving I liked how big this place was and it had plenty of parking too. Breweries that took over existing or empty spaces are my favorite breweries because they have a huge warehouse vibe. The layout of this place is great and the servers were great too. There wasn't any food the day we were there but I am sure they have food trucks on certain days but I can't swear to that so make sure to check out their website or calendar to double check that. They did in fact have some snacks to purchase and we bought a couple bags of Pirate's Booty Aged White Chedder. A varied list of beers on tap, including flagship and newer beers. We ordered a flight of four beers including 2 IPAs, a stout and a stronger Belgian ale. We enjoyed the "6th trip around the sun" the most. They have small food (eg bags of chips) available. The brewery is located in an industrial park set apart from any other restaurants but they do allow "real" food to be delivered here. There were a few games including jenga and cards against humanity available to play. Ample seating and for both large and smaller groups. read more

A bit hard to find as it is hidden in an industrial park and there is limited signage. The door is around the back right next to the loading dock. Very no frills environment. Bartenders were happy to help out and tell you what's on tap. I liked the File This IPA and my wife the People Pleaser Vienna Lager. One thing is that the place kinda smelled. I know the brewing process can lead to some scents but these were almost overwhelming when you walked by the brewing area. It's not something I notice at other breweries so maybe something they can do about it in the future. All in all a good spot to grab a couple of beers. read more

Last night on Halloween Night I walked into the brewery looking to try a new place for brews. I saw the bartender clearing out trash from the trash dins, and then afterwards she came over to the bar to take my order. She never washed her hands after handling the trash bags and I found that a little unsanitary. I did not want her handing me a glass of beer after touching the trash bags, so I decided to not order any beer and left. Brewery with the tour, a place for kids to play. Board games and cornhole, and a place for all to sit and enjoy a sample. The outside is unassuming, almost no idea it's there. Plenty of space in the lot on a Wednesday. Inside, the menu is quite varied which is nice. Some places, according to our resident beer judge, only do variations on one kind of beer (IPAs, etc.). It is exceptionally comfortable, roomy, and have a great variety of drink options that she could have haha. All I keep saying is please get out there and support small businesses they need us.... We finally got around to trying this nice little brewery and we certainly were not disappointed. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon the weather was amazing and they had live music what more could you want. They have two separate outdoor areas one section has tables but there weren't that many but on the other section there are Haybale's or you can bring your own chair and sit and relax and listen to music and enjoy some really good beer. Their IPAs were outstanding very juicy and tasty they also had a mash up that had vanilla wafers and peanut butter and all sorts of amazing ingredients. The only downside is they kind of don't have the delivery system down yet and I had to watch while the young lady took my beer to another table and the woman actually held it in her hands which kind of grossed me out because of Covid but I guess since we were the only two redheads there she thought it was me LOL. read more

I discovered Untied early during the COVID pandemic, probably a half dozen times we did their in-line ordering for curbside pickup and have always been impressed by their offering of beers. It wasn't until last weekend that we had the opportunity to actually go into their taproom and see it for ourselves. I'm glad we made the trip back to check it out because it's a really cool place. A blend of industrial and modern, Untied did a great job of blending the equipment that's in their building from its former life as a factory with retro furnishings that would seem to match the timeframe during which the building was built. Plenty of room to spread out, and a variety of different seating areas made the space quite welcoming. Only suggestion I might offer to them is to add some signage near their to-go case advising guests how to see what was available in cans (be it a QR code to visit the website or arrow pointing to the register today had a list. We had started to walk over to see what they had but got intercepted by a staff member being told we weren't allowed to look at the case due to state law. A bit weird could easily be mitigated with some signage. read more

Went there on a Friday night, it wasn't packed, seating was very spaced out, and they were playing the basketball game. They had three IPAs that were good but the best one was Citra & Motueka. I'm pretty sure I tasted untied at a beer fest or a wine fest but probably too drunk then to remember now. Met up with a buddy here. I started with the flight for $10. Got the 2 lagers and 2 ipas. What I liked was there was a couple TV and football was on. It's dimmly lit so the mood is already set. We ordered pizza .2 miles away but they didn't deliver because the driver was on strike or something. The beers are good. Didn't try but they serve a Seltzer pretty interesting. First time at Untied was for a surprise birthday party . Knowing breweries in NJ usually have limited space I was a bit concerned. Untied surprisingly has a ton of space . We had an area with 2 tables and a spot with a couch ; and there was still plenty of space to go around . I'm gonna base by review from my whole experience not just on individual beer ratings (let's leave that for things like UnTapped) . Untied has a killer space with a ton of room and a back room with corn hole. Double bonus. They have a great selection of beers on tap including hazy IPAs , seasonal ( pumpkin ) , stouts , light beers , sours and fruits . Really something for everyone. The staff was pleasant and there was a descent amount of parking . At this time they had about 4 different can options for sale . Overall great experience . what drew us in was Master Asador's food truck and the location. Atmosphere is nice they have outdoor seating, parking and roomy inside. They also feature live music along with rotation of food trucks. Lots of lager and pilsner, some sours along with IPAs. Nice that it's not all IPAs. Tap room pouring 18 beers: many IPAs, a few pale ales, wheat ales, sours, a Kölsch and one pilsner, alas no darks or stouts this Spring day. The Untied 10 barrel system, fermentation tanks, bar and a dozen tables all share one big plain industrial space, admire the 1 ton crane while enjoying your $10 flight of four beers. The "tour" is a quick explanation of the brewing process on paper. None of the beers were a big hit with me. Fairly quiet when we visited, a few kids crawling around just to give it that family feel LOL. Definitely bring some food, there was a guy outside selling hotdogs and pretzels, but more of a food minivan than a food truck :) read more

Untied Brewing is a new brewery located in an industrial area in New Providence. For anybody who doesn't know, it's a very nice, upscale area, and the crowd is, too. There are a lot of people who bring kids, so you can feel comfortable if you want to do that. I was able to manage to find some cool people to talk to, but if they hadn't been there, I can't say it's a place where anybody can come and socialize. It's basically one large, square room, and there isn't much separation between the brewing system and the tasting area. It feels industrial, but that's normal and nice for a brewery. But it can get loud in there. The bar area doesn't have any stools to sit on. There are some side rooms off the main area, which will probably be utilized for other purposes. It still is a nice space. Untied has a large selection of many different beers. They're a medium sized brewery, and I can tell they are trying to please everyone. With that said, I wasn't sure what to order specifically. I was hesitant to get a flight because there was nowhere to put down my flight if need be. All the seats apart from the bar were taken. I had to get full glasses that I could carry. The New England IPA was milder than most. The two nice people I met recommended the Nitro Dry Irish Stout after that, and it was better. But overall the beers are bright, approachable, and not too heavy. They are meant to appeal to the upper crust crowd that lives in New Providence who want to dabble in craft beer. I wouldn't recommend Untied to my serious craft beer friends, but it's a great place if you live locally. read more

Untied Brewing Company is in a BIG building. I'm not sure if they have the whole building but the brewery and tasting room is big. They have a mix of tables both high and low top, as well as couches and comfortable chairs along the back wall. No bar seating, which I prefer when I'm doing flights of tasters because I actually like to talk to the staff. The bar staff here was very friendly and seemed to know what they were talking about, which is always nice. UBC is apparently very family friendly as there were lots of kids around. It was also loud! Not just kids but music as well. My preference is for a little more intimate tasting area but what works for one doesn't for others. They do have a great, friendly vibe going. The Winter Ale is a biere' de garde, a nice strong farmhouse ale. It had a little of that familiar farmhouse funk at the end. That's not a bad thing! It's expected. This is a good ale. Exploration Series: Tropical Kettle Sour ale v3. Version 3 I presume. Nice light color with great fruit on the nose which didn't prepare me for the intense sour fruit flavors. The aroma gave me mango, pineapple and something else I couldn't quite place. The taste gave me the mango and pineapple as well as apple. This is a good sour but I would have liked the aroma to balance with the flavor a little more. Nice sour that lingers though. The Neuhaus Belgian style quad. Powerful, intensely flavored Belgian. Absolutely expected but still strong. A true to style Belgian strong ale. This was nicely done. Mayors Stout on nitro had a deep roasty and chocolate aroma with chocolate and coffee in the taste, with both competing for attention at the end. The Vienna style lager. Is it just me or does everyone prefer their beers to have names besides just the style? I think breweries are missing it not giving their beers witty names relevant to the brewery's theme or something. Anyway, the Vienna style lager had a nice light amber color with a clean malty flavor. Just a good, clean beer. I know that the heavily flavored beers often sell better but the true to style often lighter flavored beers really tend to show the brewers craft I think. Hazy West Coast style IPA. Hazy IPAs are all the rage lately I know. This one had a mild haze to it but with fruity hop aroma and flavor. Tasty IPA! The Double DIPA. Is that a quad IPA? I'm guessing it is actually a DIPA with the double added so everyone know what it is. Or maybe it is a double double, which to me means In-n-Out. You would have to be familiar with west coast burger joints to know In-n-Out as I don't think they are east of Texas, but you guys are missing out. (By the way, White Castle sucks!)This had almost nothing on the nose, very mild for a DIPA and mild on the flavor as well. Now granted there is not much to focus on as far as "style" in a DIPA. It's kinda wide open but I did expect more hop flavor on this though the malt cane through nicely. Hilltopper is, er, why does this one get its own name? Whatever, it's an American strong ale with a nice malty flavor, the alcohol comes through a little but not overwhelmingly. Give me a nice cold evening, a fire, a bearskin rug, and...uh never mind. Where was I? Last beer, a Belgian style white with orange and raspberry. It just sounded good. I could smell the orange but couldn't pick out the raspberry. The flavor gave me both but a little bit of the citrus kicked turned me off slightly at the end. The flavors just didn't flow well for me. If they could get the flavors to work as well as the aroma this would be stunning. Untied Brewing Company didn't wow me but they are brewing some good beers. And if you like the louder, kinda party atmosphere they have that going. I kinda prefer the snakes tasting room for the ambience but I don't hold that against UBC. They are definitely worry a stop. went there after lunch with my whole family. My brother bought a 4 pack canned beers to take home. I wanted to try it and not knowing the rules or policy of the brewery. While I was drinking the canned beer a staff member that was probably the manager, abruptly interrupted our group and told that I can't do that. She grabbed my canned beer and poured it into my glass which overflowed and spilled all over the table. She then grabbed the remaining canned beers and took it behind the counter without asking us. It was very rude and disrespectful in front of my whole family and my parents. First of all, we already paid for those beers. She had no rights to take them away from us like we're little kids without asking. Second, we didn't know the rules. She could've explained it to us politely instead of being disrespectful. Unfortunately, the place has an identity crisis - Is it a brewery or a Romper Room? I stopped going around 2 years ago because the outdoor space on weekends during the summer turned into a children's playground. I stopped in today for a few beers, which was cut short when... Yep, you guessed it, an entire section filled up with a small handful of adults and around 10 children with coloring books and arts and crafts set up on tables. I left after only one beer... Another person I know in New Providence stopped going for this reason. It used to be much better with a great atmosphere and good music. United, start charging people who don't order anything a cover charge to deter people abusing the place as a free party space and don't even buy beers. Parents... As a lover of sour and seltzers, this brewery had it all. They also infuse some of the sours with marshmallow to get a very delicious taste. The sours aren't too sour and the seltzers not too sweet. This is the most excited I have been writing a Yelp review. Please be aware that I am excited mostly because this brewery is within walking distance to my house so keep that in mind. ANYWAYS. Went to the tasting room for the first time on a Friday at 5pm. Great group of people and really friendly staff. I love that it's tucked out of the way in a random building. Just a big open space with a nice seating area! As for the beer, I had an orange and vanilla milkshake IPA and I'm obsessed with it. I like girly beers and this tastes like a creamsicle with VERY little of that IPA bite. So good. We will definitely be back! I want them to do so well but I know when word gets out how cool it is it might get a little crowded. I'll allow it. Bring out the cornhole! read more

I will try again at some point in the distant future since they are still new and I will contribute the beer and service to that. The space is great and perfect for a large group. The beer was pretty good - my favorite being the West Coast IPA. Nothing outstanding but nothing disappointing. Their mango pioneer ale tastes like Fruity Pebbles. Probably my biggest takeaway. The atmosphere was popping but I don't see any reason to go out of my way to return. I would go back, but I live further south. They let you bring pizza in, the tour is short and sweet, and their selection of beer isn't bad for a new brewery. Very simple brews. Nothing crazy. read more

All the beers on paper sound great!...... then you try them and are left shrugging your shoulders. Located in walking distance to NJ Transit train stop... could be perfect.... Man, I was really wanting this place to be amazing. Right in my back yard... yet I'll continue to go to Tired Hands, Tree House, Other Half and others... to get my fix of good IPAs, Sours, etc. This place will survive because of the local community... families... and lack of other breweries around here... yet , I really hope the owners try to take it to the next level and adjust their recipes to offer a better selection of good beers.
