Drifting Back to Lions Roar for Sure! We ended the night at Lions Roar Brewing in Westfield and what a way to cap off an evening. The service was excellent -- friendly, attentive, and on point all night. The craft beer selection had some real creativity on tap. We were disappointed to hear the mango brew had run out -- that one sounded like a winner -- but the Mexican and lime brew more than made up for it. Bright, flavorful, and refreshing, it was a great pour that kept us coming back for more. But the real showstopper of the night? Drifting Back. This four-piece band was absolutely exceptional -- tight, talented, and packed with great tunes. They had the room in the palm of their hands all night. If you ever see them on the schedule here, don't miss it. A minor gripe about the sold-out mango brew aside, this was a fantastic night out at Lions Roar. We'll absolutely be back. read more

First time coming here and this is definitely a smaller brewery than I was expecting. Downside is there is paid parking or you can try to find parking in the residential area behind and walk the two blocks to the brewery The location itself has a small indoor area, this was taken by a private party. They also have a small covered beer garden out back. Prices on their beers were very reasonable and pours came in an assortment of sizes. We had two IPAs and both were different but good in their own way. read more

Don't let the lack of parking on this side of Westfield fool you, there are some pretty solid spots on this side of downtown. They had plenty of space for a Friday night, not to mention some solid board games. TBH the only drawback was the sour beers which were super watery. read more

If I could give Lion's Roar 6 stars, I would! My favorite local brewery - always a great variety of beers on tap and cans to bring home! The front of house staff is the best - shoutout to Maddy who always greets us by name and makes us feel so welcome! I go for regular trivia nights and it's always a great time. I live for breweries and I never go to any city without trying to stop at every brewery I find through Yelp :D I stopped by the last time I was In Westfield but it was early and they don't open until 4 so I made sure to be in the area after said time the next time I was in the area. This place was on our way to eat after leaving another brewery so we stopped in to grab a flight before heading out to eat, but we also ended up having a pint as well. It's a nice sized brewery with a great atmosphere. There is minimal parking beside the building so we parked up the street. There were a lot of people here enjoying themselves and a little party was going on and it was nice to see people eating their food they brought and smiling while also enjoying their beers. We ordered: Flight - Grisette, Marzen, Raspberry Sour, WC Session IPA Pints - Raspberry Sour and Black IPA Every beer we had was excellent. The staff were friendly and the vibes were chill. Small but fun local brewery with TVs indoors (great for catching a Devils game) and a nice outdoor space with heat lamps for the colder months. There are a nice variety of beers on draft to choose from, including some seasonal brews. The drinks are just a tad pricier than I would've expected, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I hosted my fiancé's 30th birthday at Lions Roar, and it was amazing! The staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly. I had many questions and they were all answered. They made the entire experience stress-free for me and enjoyable. They provided us tables to hold all the food we brought which was great. They also provided us with a table, cups, and water for water pong. Our guests had such a great time! The beers were great, the space was perfect for the 22ish people we ended up having and definitely could have held more, and the outdoor heaters kept everyone comfortable, even on a chilly and rainy night. Horrendous beers. Had multiple kinds but all tasted horrible and lacked any effort. Was recently on a brewery tour of the area and this would def be the last place I'd recommend beer wise. People seemed to like it for a hangout due to lack of local options but most people i asked there complained beer was bland. Flagship beer is modeled after a 2 dollar can of beer. Hardly a spot you need to visit if you are into beer. read more

My best four legged buddy usually joins me on Wednesdays. I appreciate that they allowed my buddy to watch me drink inside on Wednesdays. During the winter it was too cold to be drinking outside even with propane heaters. I usually get whatever is seasonal. I really liked the red ale for St. paddy's recently. I love this place for many reasons. The staff being so friendly and treat you like an equal to them is such a personable touch. They are always streaming big games that you just want to watch with good friends and a good beer. Speaking of the beer... WOW. You can tell every beer they have is made based off of what people like. The flights is my personal choice because they have some seasonal beers and non-beers like ciders and seltzers. I get to taste them all and then I always get a larger one of my favorite one. It is also super family friendly! It is a great place to bring your kids, play some board games, and have a good day out. This is such a fun local place to go to and just relax. By far my favorite brewery in this area. I try to come often to taste any new offerings. My first time here, I was blown away by how good their fruited sours were and I was hooked. It's a small brewery as you can tell by the equipment but it's in no way related to how good their beers are. I usually find myself inside the front room where there are a couple of TVs, but I don't watch. I usually play COD. It's pretty quiet Friday afternoons but haven't stayed long enough into the evenings. I noticed the other day that they have trivia night, so definitely worth checking out. Lions Roar Brewing Comoany is a quaint Brewery in the heart of Westfield, NJ. I was here for a private event last week that had a private chef pairing 10 courses with delicious beer tastings. This is the perfect venue to have private events for family, friends, clients, and company gatherings. Some favorites were the 'Das Good', 'Hefeweizen', and 'Late to the Party'. They have a lovely indoor and covered outdoor space, which is great. The staff here was incredibly friendly, and there were nothing but positive vibes in this establishment. We stopped by on a nice Saturday afternoon and sat out back. A few pros and a few cons in my opinion. The pros - Outdoor seating, very clean. The cons - $9.50 for a 13 oz. pour - yikes!!!! You have to be kidding me, lol. Also, the outdoor seating, while a good touch, could use some uncovered areas to enjoy the sunshine. The beer was decent, nothing spectacular and the menu mentioned they donate 20% of proceeds to Autism awareness which is AWESOME. I understand downtown Westfield is expensive but $9.50 for a 13oz. Pour is egregious. I have not paid that much for a beer at any brewery across the United States. Similar competitors in Red Bank, Chatham, etc are in equally pricy areas and can still get it done for $7-$8 a beer. Maybe the 20% donation is part of this but with tip you're asking for $11.50-$12 a beer. I wish them the best, but they are either gouging and making a ton of profit or need to cut their overhead to lower prices, just my opinion. read more

Lions Roar Brewing has great people, but unfortunately, the beer is pretty underwhelming. It might be due to their limited single-vessel brew system, but the quality just isn't there. The space itself is just okay--nothing special. If you don't have excellent beer, your space needs to be outstanding, and this one just isn't. Great local brewery near downtown Westfield. I went during a generally slow time, but with plenty events going on during the week it would be a great spot to frequent. With dog and family friendly events, it seems to be a great little spot in the community. Brought my wife and friend here on their opening Saturday. Definitely a well run and inviting place. Food: their beer selection I thought was interesting. Five simple, yet completely different brews: Oktoberfest, ESB, American IPA, Hefeweizen, and Belgian Tripel. Simple names that aptly describe the beers. Though I do not drink, I was really impressed with both the pours and the depth of color for each beer. Both my wife and friend really enjoyed it. Service: Absolutely wonderful and polite staff who looked a little beat from their opening night, but were super welcoming and helpful. Aesthetic: I like the wood and chrome-brushed style. Had our sons first birthday party here and it was GREAT! Maddie (manager) is beyond lovely and easy to work with. They were so accommodating, helpful and positive. The pricing is very fair for a party and for the drinks alike! We did a host tab and were pleasantly surprised by the tab despite the fact that drinks were flowing. They helped us create a small area for a mat and toys so the kids could play and all in all it was really wonderful. Would so recommend! read more

I will definitely return. Only 2 complaints really: -no table service in the patio. Lion's Roar was the 118th brewery that I have visited in NJ alone. I was very curious about how the brewery would fit into the very nice and upscale town of Westfield. There are a lot of shops and restaurants in the downtown there, so you would expect that the brewery would fit right in. Turns out it does. They have a really clean beautiful atmosphere and a quaint little tasting room. They also have outside seating. There's no big bar area. The service was much better than that many other breweries. I wanted for nothing. LOL. I really felt like they appreciated me coming in. The beers are still new. In writing this review, I am keeping in mind that they are not necessarily a big production brewery in an industrial park but rather a small local spot. On the day I went there was one beer that really stood out. It was the Mexican Cerveza. I haven't had a beer like that at any other brewery I have visited. The other IPAs and such will surely be improved in time. read more

Amazing addition to the neighborhood. We were patiently waiting for this place to open after a long wait. The space is amazing, with indoor seating and a great backyard space.
