This little nondescript distillery is producing some of the most complex, layered, and distinctive spirits I've ever had, and miraculously all from a single still. The owners clearly have a passion that shines through with every cocktail. The Monk American Herbal is breathtaking - as are the Recado, Vidisha's Masala, and Barista. End: night cap to seal your evening in. I came with a friend at the end of our day and it was a nice way to just chat and catch up. It is not very loud so you can actually have a conversation. Definitely sit at the bar if you can: you get to watch the bartenders craft (and I intentionally mean to use the work craft) beautiful drinks. Wifey and I stumbled onto Dismal Harmony Distillery while in Morristown and stopped in to give it a try. Yes, we knew before walking in that the drinks were probably going to be expensive as these small batch local distilleries always are, but we weren't gonna say no. Took a little while to figure out which drink we wanted, but once we did it was simply delicious. Wifey ordered the 'Holden my Drink' and I ordered 'The Back Nine.' Both drinks, though very different, were both refreshing and drinks I could have all summer on the patio. We got to chat with the bartender a bit (I mean, at a place like this you really should) and learned a bit more about our the place (only open for four months), the different alcohols they serve, and the menu (the bartender and owner create the specialty drinks, it changes regularly, and they have some that aren't in the menu). This is a must try for cocktails! I've never been to a cocktail bar where every single drink on the menu looks, sounds, and tastes delicious. There is truly something for everyone and extremely unique flavors. The staff are also incredibly helpful, polite, and knowledgeable. The drinks are a bit pricier than your average place (approx $17/drink) but definitely worth the few extra dollars. Such a cute new find! They have incredibly unique liqueurs that are worth trying! Can't say enough good things about this distillery! I wasn't drinking that day so the bartender was able to make me a great mocktail, and my sister and SIL both thoroughly enjoyed their drinks. Our bartender really made the experience though!! We were there on the first day of their fall menu, so he let us taste little samples of all the unique ingredients in the new drinks and talked us through how they make them. I took home a bottle of their own masala liquor, and got a few suggestions from the bartender on how to use it. I've already tried it in hot cider and can confirm that was SO. GOOD. read more

Tucked behind the Morristown Diner you'll find this north Jersey gem that's worth seeking out. The inside space is really beautiful and while the outside seating is covered, you're still sitting in a parking lot. They offer flights of their spirits that are made on site (you can see the stills inside), as well as a flight of mini cocktails. They also make a wide variety of liqueurs, which I think is extra cool because the cocktails are 100% Morristown-made! Fresh herbs and house-made syrups are an excellent touch and show they're serious about their products. Service is super friendly and knowledgeable. I particularly loved the Vidisha's Masala and the Monk liqueurs, and the cocktail named "The Green" - possibly the most delicious cocktail I've ever had. We tried old fashioneds, Manhattans, and a complex gin drink with mint and cucumber. All were good, all about $16. This is an off the green nice distillery. You would pass it if you didn't google it and that would be ashame because you would have missed it. It has unique cocktails. The fireside old fashion is a must with a smoked finish. Their regular old fashion is great. What would have made it 5 star is if they took their signature spirits, split them up and highlighted each nuance with them in their menu so you knew what you were ordering. When ordering a unique cocktail, the tasting notes really do make the difference. But they are new and learning. Their customer service is great and very attentive. Would definitely recommend. Really cute distillery in Morristown with amazing cocktail artists. Went in on a Thursday night and Jessica and Matt were working who are very friendly and you can tell enjoy their work. Drinks were on point. Menu has fun ingredients such as saffron, passion fruit, pistachio just to name a few. They had a masala liqueur which is different in a good way, you can taste the spices come through when you drink it straight and pairs very nicely in their mumbai nights drink. Looking forward to their seasonal menu offerings. Parking behind the Dunkin Donuts/ Morristown Diner, it is the old Cy Brakes spot. Bring your own food or choose from the many nearby restaurants. Thursday is just lively enough to get that night out feel but you can still get a seat and hear your own conversation.
