What an awesome business! My buddies and I put our name on the list across the street, a 90 minute wait!? I said, let's grab a beer at Diamond Spring Brewery! Walking in, I see a board that says: Pour It Forward I ask the hostess, what does that mean? Oh, customers bought a Veteran a pint. Are you a Veteran? Man... I had military ID out faster than you can say IPA! There's about 15 beers on tap, I chose a Pilsner. The bartender poured it quickly, I grabbed the glass and headed outside to relax. Bottom Line: The Blackberry Bear Stout was amazingly good. Came in to a very busy wednesday evening at sunset, and it was a modestly busy night. Kinda surprising, but in a good way. Weather was awesome, and so was the black bear stout. Now, to be clear, I am not a fruity beer fan, and neither was my cohort. He had the mexican lager, which he stated he liked. Top notch brewery! I was here a week ago and it's such an amazing little brewery. It's very small and cramped inside but the atmosphere was outstanding so I didn't mind it. I can only imagine what's it's like with the doors open and everyone outside sitting at the tables enjoying themselves. The service was great! Diamond Spring has officially become a favorite spot! This is a quaint lovely brewery tucked in Denville. It gives you beach vibes without driving two hours dts. It's great, super dog friendly and the staff is fantastic. Lots of shaded areas and tents. We went on a book sale day! It was great, tons of local authors and books for sale. I loved it - bought myself some books and sat back with my slushie. My group loved every beer they tried. There's tons of restaurants to order or bring food from. The cozy tasting room is perfect for kicking back some seasonal specials like the Griswald Family Christmas stout, Hot Nutz warm mulled herbed cider, and much more including non-alcoholic options. They even offer "Dog Electrolyte Water" in a can! We loved seeing the "Pour it Forward" board where customers buy a beer for someone of their choosing, like teachers, veterans, and first responders. They have events throughout the year including live music and trivia, photos with Santa, and more! Super impressed with the size of the outdoor space at Diamond Springs. All of their seating is outdoors, so I wonder what goes down here in the winter. In any case, this is a wonderful spot to enjoy some fresh brewery beer outside when the weather is right. You can of course bring your own food, and thy even have a stage set up for outdoor events. Beer is absolutely delicious -- I tried a flight with a few fall specials and everything was a hit. I just wish they had more variety of beer to take home. They only really sell the classics to-go. All the more reason to come back! My only major complaint is the adults only seating situation. A large part of the outdoor space is sectioned off for adults only. This area had plenty of open tables that we couldn't sit at with kids, when there were lots of tables in the GA section that were only occupied by only adults. Not sure if there is a solution to that problem, but it was incredibly frustrating for us. Overall, this is a great brewery with delicious beer and expansive outdoor seating. An intriguing new addition to brewing companies in the greater Denville area. This may qualify as the closest to my home. I offer the following intrigues (as opposed to positives and negatives): * Very open environment. All our good-weather seating was under outdoor tents. Not a lot of room under the fixed building ceiling. Not sure what they would do for cold or stormy weather. * Opens promptly at 12, not a second before. Dogs and children welcome and abundant, playing with the gravel rocks we all walk and sit on outside. Up to parents to supervise. * No one outside to take orders; occasionally someone came by to collect empty cups or rake the stones, but otherwise up to you to walk inside to order. There was someone disabled sitting at one table, and I was not watching to see if perhaps he got personalized attention from the staff. * No TVs, no food directly, but since I went on a weekend there was a vendor on-site shelling out hot dogs and pretzels. I imagine there is a rotation of on-site vendors for busy days, but you should plan to eat elsewhere just to be safe. * One line at the cashier to place orders and close out. Then you stand at the bar to get your drink. Not an arrangement I've ever walked into before - everywhere else you just wait and pay at the bar. Having a single line to get in for drinks is not the norm when you're thirsty. Anyway, with a wide selection of beers on tap, I went for the nut brown and the seasonal pumpkin spice stout (since it's a stout on nitro). Both were okay, but a bit hoppy and not really in my upper echelons of beer. Combined with the unrelaxed outdoor seating and the fact I have to drive here, this isn't for me. If I lived within walking distance I might occasion here, but $8/pint adds up pretty quickly. So right now, I'll stick with Twin Elephant as my nearby fave. read more

Stopped in while waiting for our table to be ready at a local restaurant. They had a plethora of beer options. We ordered a mahalo while waiting for a seat to empty up. They were very limited on non-alcoholic options. I ended up getting a lychee soda. The inside area was very packed I think due to moving all tables inside so it was very tight inside the bar area. A breath of life has been brought to downtown Denville! Diamond Springs has an awesome beer selection and new beers on tap frequently! They do not have any good but have a good runner stand for those that want to order food from a local restaurant and have it picked up for them. Grabbing some Tacos from Taco Affair and a beer is my go to combo! The like for beer can get a bit long but those working the bar keep things moving and always give good advice when I inevitably get stuck between choices. I've now visited Diamond Spring Brewery five times and I love this place. I've been here with Wifey, with friends, and by myself and I'm always glad I stopped in. The service here is sometimes a little slow, but it's usually due to volume. The servers/bartenders are usually really friendly and helpful. I do have to say that the last time I was there they refused to provide a taster, stating they couldn't do that, when every other time I'd been there they allowed me to taste before buying. The beer selection is pretty wide with about ten choices. Not all of them work for me as I hate IPAs and some of the sweet selections were good, but I didn't love them. That said, every time I've been there I've enjoyed my selections and so has Wifey. I love the layout here with all the outdoor seating - reminds me of a shore bar...they even have corn hole boards and a few fire pits. One of the really cool things they do here is offer food runners for you (in NJ breweries can't serve food, but you can bring food into the place). They will run to pick up your orders from the numerous restaurants in the immediate area...a brilliant idea. Not sure of the winter plan, but I'm looking forward to finding out! read more

Diamond Spring Brewing Company is a new brewery right in the heart of Denville. While they do have indoor seating, most of their seating is outdoors, so it is a perfect spot for a beautiful day. They have picnic tables and lawn chairs. I have been to Diamond Spring twice now, with the most recent time being Saturday. I have tried three of their beers and enjoyed all of them. The coffee Porter has just the right amount of coffee flavor for someone who doesn't like coffee, the blood orange sour was just sour enough. The Island Hibiscus is wonderfully fruity. The only thing I would say is there is something weird with your ordering system and if you order from the guy standing there with the iPad rather than from the person at the bar, he won't ask your name and instead they just take the name on the card you use to pay, but it only prints a couple letters on the ticket, so they may call out the wrong name for you. For example, they called out "Nico" for my order rather than "Nicholas." I plan on heading back asap to try some of their out her selections! read more

Diamond Spring Brewing: A Masterclass in Missed Potential As someone who actively seeks out and supports local breweries, it genuinely pains me to say this--but Diamond Spring Brewing is a letdown in nearly every category that matters. The beer? Inconsistent, underwhelming, and utterly forgettable. There's no clear house style, no ambition in the brews, and certainly nothing that justifies coming back for a second round. And then there's the plastic cups. Nothing screams "we don't take our beer seriously" like serving it in disposable drinkware. For a place calling itself a brewery, this is amateur hour. Presentation matters--craft beer deserves better than what feels like a high school kegger vibe. The staff? Other than 1 or 2 I have interacted with, they are largely disengaged and shockingly light on beer knowledge. Ask a question beyond "what's lightest?" and you'll likely get a shrug or a guess. A brewery team should live and breathe their beer--not look like they're counting the minutes until they can clock out. On top of that, the entire place leans hard into gimmicks, seemingly in the hope that atmosphere and live music will distract from the subpar core product. Yes, the music is often good--that's the one redeeming quality--but a brewery should be built around great beer, not as an afterthought to a mediocre bar with a sound system. If you're in the area and looking for a real craft beer experience, you'd be much better served driving a little further to one of the many superior breweries nearby. It's a chill place in the summer to just catch up with my girlfriends and a fun place on an early winter night to cozy up by the fire pits and listen to a live band. In a space formerly occupied by an auto service station on Broadway and 1st Avenue in Denville, Diamond Spring Brewing Co. produces several types of tasty and fresh beverages on-site - including IPAs, lagers. porters, sours, seasonally-inspired beers such as summer shandy's, hard seltzers, and non-alcoholic sodas -- and rotates the selections on tap in the tasting room. Beers and sodas are available in 10 oz pours ($5), 16 oz pours ($8), or try a flight of three 5 oz pours ($12) to sample several and pick your favorite, then grab a crowler ($16) to go. Seating inside the tasting room (in which used to be the service bays) is very limited with only about six or eight tables, but Diamond Spring Brewing has a large dog-friendly and kid-friendly outdoor space with picnic tables and patio umbrellas, corn hole boards, and fire pits that was packed when we arrived just after they opened on a weekend afternoon. (It'll be interesting to see what the owners have planned for the winter.) I'm not sure what makes Diamond Spring Brewing (and other microbreweries) so popular with young families, but there were several groups of families camped out for the afternoon, including some of whom were treating the space like a public park and enjoying a picnic meal without purchasing anything from Diamond Spring, while their offspring ran amok around the outdoor space pelting each other with the gravel that covers the ground. I started with a tasting flight of three 5 oz pours - the Desert Stroll lager (a light, crisp beer similar to Corona), the Lakeside IPA, and the Juice Box New England IPA. I enjoyed all three beers and agreed they earned a solid 4 out of 5 stars for their smooth, consistent flavors. The two IPAs didn't seem to be intentionally over-hopped to hide other flavor deficiencies. Free street parking is available on Broadway and 1st Avenue as well as in the Denville municipal parking lots located on 1st Avenue and Bloomfield Avenue. PRO TIP: New Jersey's draconian liquor laws prohibit microbreweries from serving food, but you can bring your own food or do a take-out/delivery order from one of the many great restaurants in downtown Denville that run the gamut from Mexican to Italian to Chinese. read more

Just saying that this place is definitely not for me. It's ok if you're into bringing your dog out to socialize, but I see this differently. My wife and I walked up and I saw all the dogs not only sitting on the rocks, but sitting on benches and tables. The was in the air and I noticed dried feces on the ground. In my opinion animals should not be mixed with any kind of food/beverage service. I'm sure if you enjoy going out to drink with your animals, this place might be for you. A great addition to downtown Denville!! The beer garden has many tables outside but only a few tables inside so might be difficult if the weather isn't great. We went on a beautiful Saturday morning, arrived 30 mins after opening and it was already busy! The line to order moved quickly. I got a beer flight which only consisted of 3 beers (vs 4 beers that are usually offered in flights at other breweries) for $12 and my boyfriend got a soda flight for $3. They have weekly flavors including blood orange, mojito and peach for the sodas and to add to their sour beer and hard seltzer which I found unique and a fun way to try different flavors in a variety of ways. I enjoyed the blood orange hard seltzer the most however we did not like the mojito flavored soda. Overall, I'll be back to try more! A huge welcome to Diamond Spring Brewing Company on the grand opening of Downtown Denville's newest and only craft brewery in town. Not gonna lie. I could not hold off until their official grand opening on Saturday and had to pay them a visit on the eve of their official grand opening. Stopped in around 9pm, and clearly I was not the only one with the same idea. Was happy to see the brewery was packed with customers who were eager enjoy some cold beer to start the weekend! I'm an IPA fan, so the Lakeside IPA was a good choice for me. Not an IPA fan? Well you have no worries in that they have a great selection of other beers such as a Blonde Ale, Siason, Larger, Sour, Shandy, and a Stout. If beer is not your thing, they also have Hard Selters (Blood Orange, Peach, Watermelon, Wild Strawberry, and Pineapple) as well as non alcoholic sodas ( Root-beer, Cola, Watermelon, Blood Orange, Peach, Wild Strawberry and Pineapple) for the younger crowds or those designated drivers. I will add that like most breweries, drinks are often rotated and may not always be on tap. Diamond Spring Brewery is kid and dog friendly and the kids were having a blast in the outdoor open space that surrounds the brewery. The majority of the crowd was outside under a large tent. Despite the threat of rain, the weather held off and made for a great night to have a beer. There were a few tables inside as well, but with the great weather all the doors were open making for a great place to drink weather inside or outside. There were plenty of bartenders to pour beers and while the beer line was several people deep when I arrived, it was quickly knocked down and I did not have to wait long for my beer. While tonight's visit was main for a quick drink, I can say future visits may very well include dinner from the numerous restaurants that are all within walking distance It may be some gyros from Greece Lightning Food , some Mexican from El Mejicano Tex-Mex Grill , some hot dogs from Denville Dog & Grill , some pizza from Il Torrente or Denville Pizzeria , or some Tacos from A Taco Affair Denville or any of the other great restaurants that are close by. The possibilities are endless and they are all great choices. All in all, pretty sure this will be a hit in the downtown Denville area. First off - this is a great place and a welcome addition to the downtown Denville area. Taking over an abandoned gas station, they look to have hit a home-run with their popularity and excitement. They've been crowded and busy since opening. They manage the longer lines with care and efficiency which keeps things moving quickly despite the popularity. The beers are very good - they do run out from time-to-time of one type or another but generally pretty good supply chain management here. In a perfect world, I'd love to see probably two more offerings on their beer menu and maybe that'll happen in the future. Handicapped by some antiquated laws and operational obstacles created by NJ, that no other state in our amazing country has to deal with, they are welcoming of bringing in food from any of the numerous local restaurants. It is one thing to say that, but they truly live it and encourage it. Think that a good percentage of their patrons get food from one of these local restaurants and eat it here - they are happy to have it happen and clean up all the garbage left from it! What a service to the other local restaurants and businesses! (Although they did say they would have food runners but haven't seen that yet).
